A novel optical element, axilens, proposed by Davidson et al., for achieving extended focal length is introduced. We propose a method to design the binary axilens which has high diffraction efficiency. Using computer numerical simulation, we designed 4 axilenses each has different parameters. In this paper we present our results and make comparison with that in ref. [1]. The properties of binary axilens such as the focal depth, the lateral resolution and the intensity distribution along axis is discussed.  相似文献

A dual focus property and an extended depth of focus were verified by a new type of diffractive lens displaying on liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) devices. This type of lens is useful to read information on multilayer optical discs and tilted discs. The radial undulation of the phase groove on the diffractive lens gave the dual focus nature. The focal extension was performed by combining the dual focus lens with the axilens that was invented for expanding the depth of focus. The number of undulations did not affect the intensity along the optical axis but the central spot of the diffraction pattern.  相似文献

To control the luminous intensity of an light-emitting diode (LED), we designed and fabricated a binary diffractive lens by electron beam lithography on a poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) film. We showed that it is possible to control luminous intensity distribution using the binary diffractive lens. To improve the diffraction efficiency, we then designed a binary blazed diffractive lens with a focal length of 140 mm. With a binary blazed diffractive lens having a focal wavelength of the order of micrometers, it is possible to create a small, thin light source for controlling the distribution of luminous intensity.  相似文献

The superresolution technique is usually used in optical imaging for its ability to make the central diffractive spot smaller than the Airy spot. In this paper, we apply the superresolution technique for transforming a symmetrical TEMp0 Laguerre-Gauss beam into a Gaussian intensity distribution in the plane of a converging lens. The beam shaping is achieved by an annular binary Diffractive Optical Element having a transmittance, alternatively equal to −1 or + 1, modelled on the p light rings of the incident beam. It is observed that the rectified TEM30 beam at focus has a focal volume 170 times smaller than that of a Gaussian beam.  相似文献

对Lyons采用二元光学元件的红外成像光谱仪的设计理论进行了分析,为消除其二元光学元件作为透射式成像元件导致的焦距随波长的变化而变化的缺陷.提出将离轴三反射镜系统与具有二元光学透镜的变焦距系统相结合的新技术方案,并从军事目标的红外热探测的基本要求出发,给出了具体的设计实例.设计结果表明,系统具有设计精巧、结构简单、光能接收率高、消像差特性好、对材料的要求低以及满意的红外焦平面凝视阵列探测器的配准精度和探测精度.  相似文献

Effect of a pure binary phase filter on the three-dimensional light intensity distributions in focal region is theoretically investigated in this paper. The results show that the proposed binary phase filter may induce flat top profile with large depth of focus and reduced focal spot by properly adjusting the geometrical parameters of the binary phase filter of incident radially polarized hollow Gaussian beam (HGB) beam. On the other hand, the HGB beam benefits the most from the use of an annulus. Such kind of system is potentially useful for lithography, imaging, optical data storage, optical trapping, optical excitation of molecules, or coupling to optical fibers.  相似文献

The field distribution of a Weierstrass solid immersion lens (SIL) is presented, which shows that its focal depth is only in nanoscale. A novel filter design based on a three-zone binary phase pupil function is introduced for increasing the focal depth of a near-field Weierstrass SIL system and a procedure for designing a rotationally symmetric binary phase filter is presented. Numerical results show that an appropriate three-zone phase-only filter not only can evidently increase the focal depth of the SIL system, but also can effectively lower the spreading of the spot size with distance and suppress the side-lobe intensity. Five-zone binary phase filters (FBPFs) are proposed for decreasing the spot size and/or increasing the focal depth of the near-field optical storage system with a hemisphere solid immersion lens (SIL). The design of filters is based on the vector diffraction theory and the MATLAB optimizing toolbox. Three FBPFs with rotationally symmetrical pupil function have been designed, where the one FBPF is for increasing the focal depth as big as possible, the second FBPF is for improving the resolution as high as possible, and the third FBPF integrate the increase of focal depth with the improvement of resolution. Numerical results show that compared with the three-zone amplitude filter, the designed five-zone binary phase-only filters have more prominent performances in improving the focal depth and the resolution of the near-field SIL optical storage system.  相似文献

Binary optics technology enables the manufacture of arrays of diffractive micro-optical elements which are used in many optoelectronic devices, e.g. the focal plane collection optics. The first-order diffraction grating efficiency decreases in the best part of the resonance-domain region of diffraction, i.e. when the grating period is close to the optical wavelength in the substrate material. A large fraction of the fast binary lens surface relief is built of staircase annular structures whose width is of wavelength scale. Therefore, the rigorous electromagnetic theory of gratings has been applied in this paper to calculate and analyze the diffraction effects for the resonance-domain longwave (8–12 μm) infrared (LWIR) binary optics. It is shown that electromagnetic effects limit the speed of the LWIR first-order diffractive lenses and the optical gain achievable with the diffractive lenses used as the focal plane collection optics in the IR detection systems.  相似文献

In this paper we proposes a new concept of annular-focus zone lens and its design procedure based on binary optics. An investigation of the diffraction efficiencies and the transverse intensity distributions on the focal plane of the designed annular-focus zone lenses is presented. In a previous work we presented a new method for binarizing pupil filters designed to control the three-dimensional (3D) irradiance distribution in the focal volume of apodized systems. The method is based in the fact that the 3D amplitude point spread function of an axially-symmetrical system can be recovered entirely from a one-dimensional (1D) set of regularly spaced amplitude samples. Hence we proposed the use of 1D iterative Fourier transform algorithm to binarize a, properly mapped, version of the amplitude transmittance of the filter. The binary masks obtained consist of a set of opaque and transparent concentric annular zones. In this paper we have built two of these masks with opposing properties and we have experimentally verified their abilities in a focusing system. These experimental results strongly agree previous theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The star HE 1305-0007 is a metal-poor double-enhanced star with metallicity [Fe/H] = -2.0, which is just at the upper limit of the metallicity for the observed double-enhanced stars. Using a parametric model, we find that almost all s-elements were made in a single neutron exposure. This star should be a member of a post-commonenvelope binary. After the s-process material has experienced only one neutron exposure in the nucleosynthesis region and is dredged-up to its envelope, the AGB evolution is terminated by the onset of common-envelope evolution. Based on the high radial-velocity of HE 1305-0007, we speculate that the star could be a runaway star from a binary system, in which the AIC event has occurred and produced the r-process elements.  相似文献

Charged-particle trajectories in the MAVR high-resolution magnetic spectrometer [1] are simulated. The latter has been constructed at the U400 accelerator for purifying the incident beam and identifying the products of nuclear reactions induced by the beams of stable and radioactive nuclei. In this paper we present the MAVRPC software package, aimed at reconstructing the spectrometer focal plane, optimizing the fields of quadrupole and dipole magnets, and estimating the solid-angle acceptance for secondary particles.  相似文献

Gabor波带片是一种理想的单级聚焦光学元件,但制备困难.本文采用聚焦离子束直写技术成功制备出30环、20扇区的二值化Beynon-Gabor波带片,其有效面积半径为700μm,第一环半径90μm.利用各向异性腐蚀液对硅基底进行开孔,实现了Beynon-Gabor波带片二值化、自支撑、镂空的结构特征.在波长为355 nm的激光下测试其光学性能,结果表明所制备的Beynon-Gabor波带片主光轴上只存在1级衍射叠加后的焦点,不存在高级衍射焦点,具有优异的单级聚焦性能.  相似文献

The relation between chaotic behavior and complexity for one-dimensional maps is discussed. The one-dimensional maps are mapped into a binary string via symbolic dynamics in order to evaluate the complexity. We apply the complexity measure of Lempel and Ziv to these binary strings. To characterize the chaotic behavior, we calculate the Liapunov exponent. We show that the exact normalized complexity for the logistic mapf: [0,1]→[0,1],f(x)=4x(1−x) is given by 1.  相似文献

A wave field of a structurally stable diffraction caustic that is formed upon focusing of a collimated laser beam with the help of a two-component crystal-optics element consisting of uniaxial crystals is characterized by a crystal-like cellular structure. Near the cusp of this caustic (diffraction catastrophe), a well-pronounced localized quadrupole optical vortex is observed that consists of four isolated vortices with pairwise opposite topological charges of −1, +1, +1, and −1. The creation and annihilation points of this combined quadrupole vortex are determined. Upon reversal of the direction of propagation of the laser beam through the crystal-optics element, the caustic in the focal region has already become a binary combination and inhomogeneously polarized, and a second-order optical vortex is observed near the cusp of this caustic.  相似文献

The densest binary sphere packings have historically been very difficult to determine. The only rigorously known packings in the α-x plane of sphere radius ratio α and relative concentration x are at the Kepler limit α=1, where packings are monodisperse. Utilizing an implementation of the Torquato-Jiao sphere-packing algorithm [S. Torquato and Y. Jiao, Phys. Rev. E 82, 061302 (2010)], we present the most comprehensive determination to date of the phase diagram in (α,x) for the densest binary sphere packings. 设计了工作于8~12 μm波段的折/衍混合双位置两档变焦光学系统.该系统变焦过程中相对孔径保持不变,F/#为1.7,系统变倍比为3.75∶1.大视场角为19.2°,有效焦距33 mm,用于在大范围内搜索目标;小视场角为5.1°,有效焦距125 mm,用于对目标进行具体分析.系统采用锗和硒化锌两种材料,为四片镜结构,仅通过两片透镜的轴向移动便可完成两个视场的切换.系统中引入二元面和高次非球面,使系统结构简化,并极大地提高了成像质量.该系统适用于像元尺寸20 μm的非致冷式面阵探测器,可广泛应用于军事扫描成像和红外前视系统中.  相似文献

We present a new method with which to binarize pupil filters designed to control the three-dimensional irradiance distribution in the focal volume of an optical system. The method is based on a one-dimensional iterative algorithm, which results in efficient use of computation time and in simple, easy to fabricate binary filters. An acceptable degree of resemblance between the point-spread function of the annular binary filter and that of its gray-tone counterpart is obtained.  相似文献
