Two-dimensional (2D) porous carbon nanosheets (2DPCs) have attracted great attention for their good porosity and long-distance conductivity. Factors such as templates, precursors, and carbonization–activation methods, directly determine their performance. However, rational design and preparation of porous carbon materials with controlled 2D morphology and heteroatom dopants remains a challenge. Therefore, an ionic polyimide with both sp2- and sp3-hybridized nitrogen atoms was prepared as a precursor for fabricating N-doped hexagonal porous carbon nanosheets through a hard-template approach. Because of the large surface area and efficient charge-mass transport, the resulting activated 2D porous carbon nanosheets (2DPCs-a) displayed promising electrocatalytic properties for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in alkaline and acidic media, such as ultralow half-wave potential (0.83 vs. 0.84 V of Pt/C) and superior limiting current density (5.42 vs. 5.14 mA cm−2 of Pt/C). As air cathodes in Zn–air batteries, the as-developed 2DPCs-a exhibited long stability and high capacity (up to 614 mA h g−1), which are both higher than those of commercial Pt/C. This work provides a convenient method for controllable and scalable 2DPCs fabrication as well as new opportunities to develop high-efficiency electrocatalysts for ORR and Zn–air batteries.  相似文献

The storage of solar energy in battery systems is pivotal for a sustainable society, which faces many challenges. Herein, a Zn–air battery is constructed with two cathodes of poly(1,4-di(2-thienyl))benzene (PDTB) and TiO2 grown on carbon papers to sandwich a Zn anode. The PDTB cathode is illuminated in a discharging process, in which photoelectrons are excited into the conduction band of PDTB to promote oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and raise the output voltage. In a reverse process, holes in the valence band of the illuminated TiO2 cathode are driven for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) by an applied voltage. A record-high discharge voltage of 1.90 V and an unprecedented low charge voltage of 0.59 V are achieved in the photo-involved Zn–air battery, regardless of the equilibrium voltage. This work offers an innovative pathway for photo-energy utilization in rechargeable batteries.  相似文献

The development of nonprecious metal-based electrocatalysts with remarkable catalytic activity and long-cycling lifespan toward oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and evolution reaction (OER) is especially important for rechargeable zinc–air batteries (ZABs). Herein, monodispersed Co9S8 nanoparticles embedded in nitrogen-doped hierarchically porous hollow carbon spheres (Co9S8 NPs/NHCS) are synthesized through a template-assisted strategy followed by a co-assembly, thermal annealing, and sulfurization process. Benefiting from larger specific surface area, hierarchically porous hollow structure, and carbon nanotubes self-growth, the obtained Co9S8 NPs/NHCS-0.5 electrocatalyst exhibits decent performance for ORR (E1/2=0.85 V) and OER (E10=1.55 V). A rechargeable ZAB assembled using the Co9S8 NPs/NHCS-0.5 as air cathode delivers a maximum power density of 116 mW cm−2, high open circuit voltage of 1.47 V, and good durability (no obvious voltage decay after 1200 cycles (200 hours)). Such a hierarchically porous hollow structure of Co9S8 NPs/NHCS-0.5 provides a confined space shell and an interconnected hollow core to achieve outstanding bifunctional catalytic activity and cycling stability, which surpass the benchmark Pt/C-RuO2.  相似文献

The development of alternative electrocatalysts exhibiting high activity in the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is vital for the deployment of large-scale clean energy devices, such as fuel cells and zinc–air batteries. N-doped carbon materials offer a promising platform for the design and synthesis of electrocatalysts due to their high ORR activity, high surface area, and tunable porosity. In this study, materials in which MnO nanoparticles are entrapped in N-doped mesoporous carbon (MnO/NC) were developed as electrocatalysts for the ORR, and their performances were evaluated in zinc–air batteries. The obtained carbon materials had large surface area and high electrocatalytic activity toward the ORR. The carbon compounds were fabricated by using NaCl as template in a one-pot process, which significantly simplifies the procedure for preparing mesoporous carbon materials and in turn reduces the total cost. A primary zinc–air battery based on this material exhibits an open-circuit voltage of 1.49 V, which is higher than that of conventional zinc–air batteries with Pt/C (Pt/C cell) as ORR catalyst (1.41 V). The assembled zinc–air battery delivered a peak power density of 168 mW cm−2 at a current density of about 200 mA cm−2, which is higher than that of an equivalent Pt/C cell (151 mW cm−2 at a current density of ca. 200 mA cm−2). The electrocatalytic data revealed that MnO/NC is a promising nonprecious-metal ORR catalyst for practical applications in metal–air batteries.  相似文献

Currently, single-atom catalysts (SACs) research mainly focuses on transition metal atoms as active centers. Due to their delocalized s/p-bands, the s-block main group metal elements are typically regarded as catalytically inert. Herein, an s-block potassium SAC (K−N−C) with K-N4 configuration is reported for the first time, which exhibits excellent oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity and stability under alkaline conditions. Specifically, the half-wave potential (E1/2) is up to 0.908 V, and negligible changes in E1/2 are observed after 10,000 cycles. In addition, the K−N−C offers an exceptional power density of 158.1 mW cm−2 and remarkable durability up to 420 h in a Zn-air battery. Density functional theory (DFT) simulations show that K−N−C has bifunctional active K and C sites, can optimize the free energy of ORR reaction intermediates, and adjust the rate-determining steps. The crystal orbital Hamilton population (COHP) results showed that the s orbitals of K played a major role in the adsorption of intermediates, which was different from the d orbitals in transition metals. This work significantly guides the rational design and catalytic mechanism research of s-block SACs with high ORR activity.  相似文献

Exploring high-performance non-precious-metal electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is critical. Herein, a scalable and cost-effective strategy is reported for the construction of one-dimensional carbon nanofiber architectures with simultaneous decoration of single Fe−Nx sites and highly dispersed Fe/Fe3C nanoparticles for efficient ORR, through the FeIII-complex-assisted electrospinning of gelatin nanofibers with subsequent pre-oxidation and carbonization. Results show that the presence of a FeIII complex enables the 1D gelatin nanofibers to be well retained during the pre-oxidation process. Owing to the distinct 1D nanofiber structure and the synergistic effect of Fe/Fe3C and Fe−Nx sites, the resulting electrocatalyst is highly active for ORR with a half-wave potential of 0.885 V (outperforming commercial Pt/C) and a superior electrochemical stability in alkaline electrolytes. Similarly, it also shows a high power density (144.7 mW cm−2) and a superior stability in Zn-air batteries. This work opens a path for the design and synthesis of 1D carbon electrocatalyst for efficient ORR catalysis.  相似文献

Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries are considered to be one of the most promising energy storage systems owing to their high energy density and low cost. However, their wide application is still limited by the rapid capacity fading. Herein, polydopamine (PDA)-coated N-doped hierarchical porous carbon spheres (NPC@PDA) are reported as sulfur hosts for high-performance Li-S batteries. The NPC core with abundant and interconnected pores provides fast electron/ion transport pathways and strong trapping ability towards lithium polysulfide intermediates. The PDA shell could further suppress the loss of lithium polysulfide intermediates through polar–polar interactions. Benefiting from the dual function design, the NPC/S@PDA composite cathode exhibits an initial capacity of 1331 mAh g−1 and remains at 720 mAh g−1 after 200 cycles at 0.5 C. At the pouch cell level with a high sulfur mass loading, the NPC/S@PDA composite cathode still exhibits a high capacity of 1062 mAh g−1 at a current density of 0.4 mA cm−2.  相似文献

Superstructures have attracted great interest owing to their potential applications. Herein, we report the first scalable preparation of a porous nickel-foam-templated superstructure of carbon nanosheets decorated with ultrafine cobalt phosphide nanoparticles. Uniform two-dimensional (2D) Co-metal organic framework (MOF) nanosheets (Co-MNS) grow on nickel foam, followed by a MOF-mediated tandem (carbonization/phosphidation) pyrolysis. The resulting superstructure has a porous 3D interconnected network with well-arranged 2D carbon nanosheets on it, in which ultrafine cobalt phosphide nanoparticles are tightly immobilized. A single piece of this superstructure can be directly used as a self-supported electrode for electrocatalysis without any binders. This “one-piece” porous superstructure with excellent mass transport and electron transport properties, and catalytically active cobalt phosphide nanoparticles with ultrasmall size (3–4 nm), shows excellent trifunctional electrocatalytic activities for oxygen evolution reaction (OER), hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), achieving great performances in water splitting and Zn–air batteries.  相似文献

The development of efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) still remains a challenge in a wide range of renewable energy technologies. Herein, CuCo alloy nanoparticles encapsulated by nitrogen-doped carbonaceous nanoleaves (CuCo-NC) have been synthesized from a Cu(OH)2/2D leaf-like zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-L)-pyrolysis approach. Leaf-like Cu(OH)2 is first prepared by the ultrasound-induced self-assembly of Cu(OH)2 nanowires. The efficient encapsulation of Cu(OH)2 in ZIF-L is obtained owing to the morphology fitting between the leaf-like Cu(OH)2 and ZIF-L. CuCo-NC catalysts present superior electrocatalytic activity and stability toward ORR and OER over the commercial Pt/C and IrO2, respectively, which are further used as bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts in Zn–air batteries and exhibit impressive performance, with a high peak power density of 303.7 mW cm−2, large specific capacity of up to 751.4 mAh g−1 at 20 mA cm−2, and a superior recharge stability.  相似文献

Two efficient and practical approaches are reported for the synthesis of β- and γ-carboline derivatives from 3,4-dibromopyridine as a common starting material. The β-carbolines were prepared by site-selective Pd-catalyzed C–C coupling with o-bromophenylboronic acid and subsequent cyclization by double C–N coupling with amines. γ-Carbolines were prepared from the same starting material by C–N coupling with anilines and subsequent annulation by domino C–C/C–N coupling with o-bromophenylboronic acid.  相似文献

Kinetic isotope effect (KIE) was used to study the rate-determining step for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) on dispersed Pt/C electrocatalyst and polycrystalline Pt (Pt-poly). KIE is defined as the ratio of the kinetic current measured in protonated electrolyte versus deuterated electrolyte, with KIE values larger than one indicating proton participation in the rate-determining step. The effect of poisoning anions on the platinum rate determining step is investigated by assessing the KIE in perchloric (non-poisoning) and sulfuric acid-based electrolytes. The kinetics currents were calculated using the Koutechy-Levich and Tafel analysis. A KIE of 1 was observed for Pt/C (with a 40 wt.% Pt loading) and Pt-poly, thus indicating that, on 40 wt. % Pt/C and Pt-poly, the rate determining step is proton independent.  相似文献

N,N,N,N-tetrabutylsuccinylamide (TBSA) was synthesized, characterised and used for the extraction of U(VI) and Th(IV) from nitric acid solutions into n-dodecane. Extraction distribution coefficients of U(VI) and Th(IV) as a function of aqueous nitric acid concentration, extractant concentration and temperature have been measured and found that n-dodecane as diluent was superior to 50% 1,2,4-trimethyl benzene (TMB) and 50% kerosene, (OK) system for extraction of U(VI) and Th(IV). The compositions of extracted species, equilibrium constants and enthalpies of extraction reactions have also been calculated. The formation of the 121 complex of uranyl(II) ion or the 141 complex of thorium(IV) ion, nitrate ion and TBSA and extracted species was further confirmed by the IR spectra of saturated extract of U(IV) and Th(IV).  相似文献

Design and synthesis of stable, active and cost-effective electrocatalyst for water splitting applications is an emerging area of research, given the depletion of fossil fuels. Herein, two isostructural NiII redox-active metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) containing flexible tripodal trispyridyl ligand ( L ) and linear dicarboxylates such as terephthalate (TA) and 2-aminoterphthalate (H2NTA) are studied for their catalytic activity in oxygen evaluation reaction (OER). The 2D-layered MOFs form 3D hydrogen bonded frameworks containing one-dimensional hydrophilic channels that are filled with water molecules. The electrochemical studies reveal that MOFs display an efficient catalytic activity towards oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline conditions with an overpotential as low as 356 mV. Further, these 2D-MOFs exhibit excellent ability to adsorb water vapor (180–230 cc g−1 at 273 K) and CO2 (33 cc g−1 at 273 K). The presence of hydrophilic functionality in the frameworks was found to significantly enhance the electrocatalytic activity as well as H2O sorption.  相似文献

N,N,N,N-tetrabutylmalonamide (TBMA) was synthesized and used for extraction of uranyl(II) ion from nitric acid media in toluene. The effects of nitric acid concentration, extractant concentration, temperature and salting-out agent (LiNO3) on distribution coefficients of uranyl(II) ion have been studied. The extraction of nitric acid is also studied. The main adduct of TBMA and HNO3 is HNO3. TBMA in 1.0 mol/l nitric acid solution. The 1:2:3 complex of uranyl(II) ion, nitrate ion and TBMA as extracted species is further confirmed by IR spectra of the extraction of uranyl(II) ion with TBMA, and found that the NO 3 in the extraction species UO2(NO3)2·3TBMA did not participate in coordination of uranyl(II) ion. The values of thermodynamic parameters have also been calculated.  相似文献

An in situ generated complex of copper(I) and a biguanide, namely metformin, was found to be a highly efficient homogeneous catalyst in N/O-arylation reactions. The O-arylation of substituted phenols with various aryl iodides and bromides was also achieved using this copper catalyst to afford diaryl ethers in good to excellent yields in DMF. This heterogeneous copper catalyst also promotes the N-arylation of imidazole with a variety of aryl halides (Cl, Br, I) in acetonitrile.  相似文献

Abstract

A new series of air stable transition metal(II) complexes [M(II)(L)(Phen)], [M(II)(L)(Pip)] (M?=?Ni, Cu, and Zn) (H2L = 2,2′-methylenebis(4-nitrophenol)) (Phen =1,10-phenanthroline) (Pip?=?Piperazine) has been synthesized by incorporating the metal ion with bisphenol and 1,10-phenanthroline/piperazine ligands. The prepared metal complexes were characterized by FT-IR, UV–vis, 1H NMR, EPR, and mass spectrometry. The metal(II) complexes were potent catalysts for Suzuki–Miyaura and Kumada–Corriu coupling of various aryl halides under optimized conditions.  相似文献
