We report the fabrication of long period gratings in fluid-cladding microfibers by directly focusing a femtosecond laser beam on the microfibers surface to induce periodical modification a long one side of the microfibers.A long period grating is fabricated in a water-cladding microfiber with a diameter of~5μm,which demonstrates a resonant attenuation of 28.53 dB at wavelength of 1588.1 nm with 10 pitches.When water cladding is changed to be refractive index oil of n=1.33 and alcohol solution with concentration of 5%,the resonance wavelength shifts to 1575.1 nm with resonant attenuation of 24.91 dB and 1594.1 nm with resonant attenuation of 35.9 dB,respectively.The long period grating demonstrates different temperature sensitivities of-0.524 nm/℃,-0.767 nm/℃and-1.316 nm/℃for water,alcohol solution and refractive index oil cladding microfibers,respectively,which means the alterable liquid cladding allows the availability of tunable wavelength and sensitivity.The fluid-cladding protects the microfibers from external disturbance and contamination and allows more flexibility in controlling the transmission property and sensing characteristics of long period gratings,which can be used as fiber devices and sensors for chemical,biological,and environmental applications.  相似文献

采用简化的三层光纤模型,从模式理论和耦合模理论出发,分析了长周期光纤光栅的耦合特性及功率透射谱,给出了长周期光栅的主要特性参数。利用计算机建模,采用Matlab软件对实用的SMF 28单模光纤加以特定的光栅折射率调制参数进行数值计算,并采用振幅掩模法刻写长周期光纤光栅进行实验验证,计算结果与实验结果相吻合。  相似文献

We report a novel fiber design for obtaining long period gratings (LPGs) having a broad transmission spectrum. These gratings are based on guided to guided mode coupling in a staircase profile fiber. Numerical simulations predict 20 dB bandwidths as high as 100 nm and an estimated insertion loss of less than 1 dB. Such broadband LPGs are expected to find applications in many all fiber components.  相似文献

Sensing characteristics of Bragg grating imprinted in a three-mode elliptical core fiber were investigated in details. The grating sensitivity to temperature and to strain was measured for each polarization and spatial mode. The experimental results show very small difference in the grating sensitivity vs. mode order and polarization. We also modeled the sensitivity of the host elliptical core fiber to these two parameters. We demonstrated relatively good agreement between the sensitivity of the grating determined in our experiment and the calculated sensitivity of the host fiber for respective modes.  相似文献

The main principle of this design is based on the efficient energy transfer between the waveguide mode (WM) and the co-directional SPP provided by a properly designed fiber long period grating (LPG). This LPG is imprinted into a waveguide fiber layer of a specially designed hollow core optical fiber. The simulations are based on the finite element method (FEM) algorithm in electromagnetics and coupled mode theory for gratings. Compared to the previous proposed structure using a fiber Bragg grating (FBG), this novel kind of sensor can greatly enhance the refractive index sensitivity, e.g., from 5.93 nm/RIU (with FBG) to 817 nm/RIU (with LPG) at the sensing refractive index of 1.40. The other advantage is that the working conditions can be performed for the well-developed telecom wavelength windows 1500-1600 nm.  相似文献

利用有限差分法和耦合模理论分析了光子晶体光纤结构参数等因素对光栅周期调节长周期光栅谐振波长作用的影响,结果表明:对于同种光纤,可通过增大或减小光栅周期来减小或增大谐振波长;若占空比f增大或减小,可通过减小或增大光栅周期来保持谐振波长不变;若比例系数M增大或减小,可以成正比增大或减小光栅周期来保持谐振波长不变;在只是空气孔层数增加的系列光纤中,在长波处,为取得同一谐振波长,光栅周期需要增大数个m,但在短波处则正好相反;内层气孔对光栅周期调节谐振波长的作用影响较大,而第5层以外各层的影响十分微弱。综合利用这些规律,可以快捷地选择合适的光栅周期,高效率地制备有合适谐振波长的光子晶体光纤长周期光栅。  相似文献

长周期光纤光栅表现为前向传播的纤芯基模与同向传播的各阶次包层模式在特定波长时的模式耦合。由纤芯基模、一阶包层模式的场分布推得其功率分布 ,进一步得到两种模式的归一化常量。推导了纤芯基模与一阶各次包层模式 (HE1l/EH1l)的耦合常数。结果表明 ,纤芯基模与HE1l包层模式产生的耦合常数远大于与EH1l包层模式的耦合常数。次数低时 ,耦合常数随包层模式次数的升高而增大  相似文献

本文提出一种在同一段少模光纤上写入两个不同周期Λ1和Λ2的长周期光纤光栅构成叠栅的方法,实现了纤芯基模LP_(01)向高阶纤芯模LP_(11)模式转换的宽带宽的新型的全光纤模式转换器.利用有限元法和耦合模理论建立了模式转换器的理论分析模型.数值仿真分析了叠栅中两个子光栅周期间隔、光栅长度、耦合系数等光栅参数对模式转换器的影响.仿真分析和实验结果表明,通过改变两个子光栅的周期间隔来改变两个损耗峰的位置,形成一个损耗峰,从而可以实现宽带宽的模式转换器,其10dB带宽约是单栅的2倍.与传统的模式转换器相比,该转换器带宽宽、转换效率高,尺寸小、抗干扰能力强,可以在模分复用系统和光通信中得到广泛的应用.  相似文献

长周期光纤光栅是近几年出现的一种新型光纤器件。其耦合机理是前向传输的纤芯基模与前向传输的各阶包层模式之间的耦合 ,这与光纤布喇格光栅明显不同。它对温度、应力、弯曲及外部折射率的变化具有相当高的灵敏度 ,是一种理想的光纤型敏感结构。提出利用长周期光纤光栅谐振波长的移动或移动变化量进行磁场强度的测量 ,并进行了理论推导、仿真实验及分析研究。得出了谐振波长变化量与外界磁场强度的关系模型。分析了设计中应该考虑的因素。  相似文献

利用受温度影响的光纤的本征方程和相位匹配条件,从理论上研究了长周期光纤光栅(LPFGs)的温度响应特性,给出了LPFGs的温度灵敏度的解析表达式。对利用低模序包层模的LPFG进行了实验研究。结果表明,利用不同包层模的LPFGs具有不同的温度灵敏度。分析了光纤的材料热光系数和模的热光系数的差别。单模光纤导模的热光系数接近纤芯的材料热光系数,而包层模的热光系数比包层的材料热光系数大,模序越大,其值越大。适当调整纤芯和包层的热光系数,并选用不同的包层模,可以得到对温度灵敏或不灵敏的LPFGs。  相似文献

In this paper we have presented long period fiber grating (LPFG) as temperature sensor. Temperature based sensors have found a number of applications in commercial and industrial fields. In LPFG based temperature sensors, they respond to shift in various peak resonant wavelengths corresponding to various attenuation bands of the transmission spectrum. Temperature effect on the various attenuation bands of a LPFG have been investigated to create a highly sensitive measurement device. The temperature sensitivities of various attenuation bands of a LPFG over the wavelength region of 1.1–1.7 μm, for a grating period of 280 μm period, are obtained by monitoring the wavelength shift of each peak resonant wavelength with temperature increment of 20 °C, ranging from 0 °C to 100 °C.  相似文献

长周期光纤光栅是对周围环境比较敏感的一种无源光学器件,由于其具有无后向反射、对折射率灵敏度高、体积小、易于集成化、不受电磁干扰、耐酸碱腐蚀、不需要参比电极等诸多特点,在折射率传感领域备受关注。自从2000年Bentley研究组第一次将长周期光纤光栅用于抗原的检测以来,经过十余年的发展,长周期光栅在生物物质的检测方面取得了很大的进展,已被用于抗原抗体、细菌病毒、蛋白质、DNA、酶及核酸等诸多生物物质的检测。本文对长周期光纤光栅近年来在生物传感领域的研究进展和应用进行了总结和评述,并对长周期光纤光栅在生物物质检测方面的未来发展趋势做了展望。  相似文献

基于长周期光纤光栅能透射特定波长的性质,以及其无后向反射的优点,提出一种新型的长周期光纤光栅地震检波器系统。以长周期光纤光栅相位匹配条件为基础,逐步推导出长周期光纤光栅地震检波器的灵敏度公式。建立长周期光纤光栅地震检波器的力学模型,并推导出检波器系统的传递函数。通过实例仿真得到该长周期光纤光栅地震检波系统的幅频特性图,从而证明了长周期光纤光栅用于地震检波器的可行性。通过调整光纤长度、质量块质量、阻尼系数等参数而得到适合的频率特性和灵敏度,为将来提高该系统的性能指明了研究方向。  相似文献

The influence of annealing and temperature on the transmission spectrum of Long Period Grating (LPG) is investigated by monitoring the wavelength shift and the intensity variation in the loss peaks. The LPGs are inscribed in a hydrogen loaded standard telecommunication fiber and experiments are performed at different annealing temperature and time to observe the spectral changes. 分析了椭圆激光驻波场的偏斜对中性原子运动过程和沉积过程的影响,对不同偏斜角度椭圆激光驻波场作用下中性铬原子沉积纳米光栅结构的特性进行了仿真研究,由仿真结果可以看出,随着偏斜椭圆形激光束偏斜角的增加,对应于不同y平面,激光驻波场汇聚中性原子所形成纳米光栅条纹的对比度不断减小、半高宽不断增大.当椭圆长短轴之比为2:1条件下,椭圆激光驻波场的偏斜角为0°时,纳米光栅的条纹半高宽为3.2 nm,条纹对比度为36:1,而当偏斜角为15°时,激光驻波场中心位置处的沉积条纹的半高宽为6.5 nm,条纹对比度为24:1,而当椭圆激光驻波场偏斜角度达到30°时,沉积条纹的单峰结构将会产生分裂,形成了双峰结构,且随着偏斜角的增加,沉积条纹的分裂越严重,纳米光栅的沉积质量越差.对于其他长短轴比例条件下的激光场亦可根据比例关系获得相应的纳米光栅沉积特性. 关键词: 原子光刻 偏斜椭圆激光驻波场 纳米光栅  相似文献

An all-fiber dual-parameter sensor based on cascaded long period grating pair fabricated by femtosecond laser and CO2 laser has been proposed and realized both theoretically and experimentally. The resonant wavelengths of LPFGs are 1557.80 nm and 1590.88 nm. In the strain range of 0–400 με, strain sensitivities are ?7.2 pm/με for C-LPFG and ?1.6 pm/με for F-LPFG. In the temperature range of 30–70°C, temperature sensitivities are ?41.1 pm/°C for C-LPFG and ?21.2 pm/°C for F-LPFG. By analyzing the resonant wavelength characterization, the proposed sensor can be efficiently used for dual-parameters measurement with promising application prospect and great research reference value.  相似文献

建立了具有两个取样周期略有不同的取样光纤光栅反射镜的Vernier波长调谐机制的光纤分布布拉格反射式激光器的数值仿真模型,对激光器的输出特性进行了分析. 研究了激光器输出特性随着激光器前后光栅反射镜波长以及前后光栅反射镜反射率的变化关系. 提出了对两取样光栅反射率的优化配置方案,可以使输出激光的边模抑制比有所提高;同时对波长调节方式也进行了探讨;进行了实验研究. 关键词: 取样光纤光栅 光纤激光器 波长可调谐激光器  相似文献

利用波动干涉理论推导了长周期光纤光栅的光栅方程. 利用色心模型和Kramers-Kronig原理,得到了长周期光纤光栅的中心谐振波长与曝光量的变化关系的理论公式,并进行了实验研 究. 理论和实验结果都表明,长周期光纤光栅的中心谐振波长与曝光量的关系按多项e负指 数之和规律变化,其变化率受到模板占空比的控制;另外,长周期光纤光栅的中心谐振波长 与模板占空比成反比关系. 关键词: 长周期光纤光栅 谐振波长 模板占空比  相似文献
