We introduce consecutive expansions of k–out–of–n systems, which have the property that components are totally ordered by the node criticality relation and with respect to well-known structural importance measures. We propose some formulae to easily compute these measures and study the hierarchies induced for them for large systems.  相似文献

We introduce operators of q-fractional integration through inverses of the Askey–Wilson operator and use them to introduce a q-fractional calculus. We establish the semigroup property for fractional integrals and fractional derivatives. We study properties of the kernel of q-fractional integral and show how they give rise to a q-analogue of Bernoulli polynomials, which are now polynomials of two variables, x and y. As q→1 the polynomials become polynomials in xy, a convolution kernel in one variable. We also evaluate explicitly a related kernel of a right inverse of the Askey–Wilson operator on an L2 space weighted by the weight function of the Askey–Wilson polynomials.  相似文献

For every integer M>2 we introduce a new family of biorthogonal MRAs with dilation factor M, generated by symmetric scaling functions with small support. This construction generalizes Burt–Adelson biorthogonal 2-band wavelets. For M{3,4} we are able to find simple explicit expressions for two different families of wavelets associated with these MRAs: one with better localization and the other with interesting symmetry–antisymmetry properties. We study the regularity of our scaling functions by determining their Sobolev exponent, for every value of the parameter and every M. We also study the critical exponent when M=3.  相似文献

Dynamical quantum groups were recently introduced by Etingof and Varchenko as an algebraic framework for studying the dynamical Yang–Baxter equation, which is precisely the Yang–Baxter equation satisfied by 6j-symbols. We investigate one of the simplest examples, generalizing the standard SU(2) quantum group. The matrix elements for its corepresentations are identified with Askey–Wilson polynomials, and the Haar measure with the Askey–Wilson measure. The discrete orthogonality of the matrix elements yield the orthogonality of q-Racah polynomials (or quantum 6j-symbols). The Clebsch–Gordan coefficients for representations and corepresentations are also identified with q-Racah polynomials. This results in new algebraic proofs of the Biedenharn–Elliott identity satisfied by quantum 6j-symbols.  相似文献

We develop a convolution–backprojection method for the k-plane Radon transform , . In the present paper we consider a q-analog of t–(v,k,)-designs. It is canonic since it arises by replacing sets by vector spaces over GF(q), and their orders by dimensions. These generalizations were introduced by Thomas [Geom.Dedicata vol. 63, pp. 247–253 (1996)] they are called t –(v,k,;q)- designs. A few of such q-analogs are known today, they were constructed using sophisticated geometric arguments and case-by-case methods. It is our aim now to present a general method that allows systematically to construct such designs, and to give complete catalogs (for small parameters, of course) using an implemented software package.   In order to attack the (highly complex) construction, we prepare them for an enormous data reduction by embedding their definition into the theory of group actions on posets, so that we can derive and use a generalization of the Kramer-Mesner matrix for their definition, together with an improved version of the LLL-algorithm. By doing so we generalize the methods developed in a research project on t –(v,k,)-designs on sets, obtaining this way new results on the existence of t–(v,k,;q)-designs on spaces for further quintuples (t,v,k,;q) of parameters. We derive in this paper the asymptotic estimates of the nodes and weights of the Gauss–LobattoLegendre–Birkhoff (GLLB) quadrature formula, and obtain optimal error estimates for the associated GLLB interpolation in Jacobi weighted Sobolev spaces. We also present a user-oriented implementation of the pseudospectral methods based on the GLLB quadrature nodes for Neumann problems. This approach allows an exact imposition of Neumann boundary conditions, and is as efficient as the pseudospectral methods based on Gauss–Lobatto quadrature for PDEs with Dirichlet boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, for a prime power q, new cyclic difference sets with Singer para- meters ((q n –1/q–1), (q n–1–1/q–1), (q n–2–1/q–1)) are constructed by using q-ary sequences (d-homogeneous functions) of period q n –1 and the generalization of GMW difference sets is proposed by combining the generation methods of d-form sequences and extended sequences. When q is a power of 3, new cyclic difference sets with Singer parameters ((q n –1/q–1), (q n–1–1/q–1), (q n–2–1/q–1)) are constructed from the ternary sequences of period q n –1 with ideal autocorrelation introduced by Helleseth, Kumar, and Martinsen.  相似文献

Let G be an undirected graph and ={X1, …, Xn} be a partition of V(G). Denote by G/ the graph which has vertex set {X1, …, Xn}, edge set E, and is obtained from G by identifying vertices in each class Xi of the partition . Given a conservative graph (Gw), we study vertex set partitions preserving conservativeness, i.e., those for which (G/ , w) is also a conservative graph. We characterize the conservative graphs (G/ , w), where is a terminal partition of V(G) (a partition preserving conservativeness which is not a refinement of any other partition of this kind). We prove that many conservative graphs admit terminal partitions with some additional properties. The results obtained are then used in new unified short proofs for a co-NP characterization of Seymour graphs by A. A. Ageev, A. V. Kostochka, and Z. Szigeti (1997, J. Graph Theory34, 357–364), a theorem of E. Korach and M. Penn (1992, Math. Programming55, 183–191), a theorem of E. Korach (1994, J. Combin. Theory Ser. B62, 1–10), and a theorem of A. V. We consider Jaeckel's (1971,Ann. Math. Statist.,42, 1540–1552) proposal for choosing the trimming proportion of the trimmed mean in the more general context of choosing a trimming proportion for a trimmedL-estimator of location. We obtain higher order expansions which enable us to evaluate the effect of the estimated trimming proportion on the adaptive estimator. We find thatL-estimators with smooth weight functions are to be preferred to those with discontinuous weight functions (such as the trimmed mean) because the effect of the estimated trimming proportion on the estimator is of ordern –1 rather thann –3/4. In particular, we find that valid inferences can be based on a particular smooth trimmed mean with its asymptotic standard error and the Studentt distribution with degrees of freedom given by the Tukey and McLaughlin (1963,Sankhy Ser. We estimate the concentration functions of n-fold convolutions of one-dimensional probability measures. The Kolmogorov–Rogozin inequality implies that for nondegenerate distributions these functions decrease at least as O(n –1/2). On the other hand, Esseen(3) has shown that this rate is o(n –1/2) iff the distribution has an infinite second moment. This statement was sharpened by Morozova.(9) Theorem 1 of this paper provides an improvement of Morozova's result. Moreover, we present more general estimates which imply the rates o(n –1/2).  相似文献

We introduce a q-differential operator Dxy on functions in two variables which turns out to be suitable for dealing with the homogeneous form of the q-binomial theorem as studied by Andrews, Goldman, and Rota, Roman, Ihrig, and Ismail, et al. The homogeneous versions of the q-binomial theorem and the Cauchy identity are often useful for their specializations of the two parameters. Using this operator, we derive an equivalent form of the Goldman–Rota binomial identity and show that it is a homogeneous generalization of the q-Vandermonde identity. Moreover, the inverse identity of Goldman and Rota also follows from our unified identity. We also obtain the q-Leibniz formula for this operator. In the last section, we introduce the homogeneous Rogers–Szegö polynomials and derive their generating function by using the homogeneous q-shift operator.  相似文献

Dynamical spin susceptibility is calculated for the tJ model in the superconducting phase using the memory function method in terms of the Hubbard operators. The self-consistent system of equations for the memory function is obtained within the mode-coupling approximation. Both itinerant hole excitations and localized spin fluctuations contribute to the memory function. Moreover, the itinerant contribution itself consists of two parts, i.e., the contribution of Bogoliubov quasiparticles and that of Cooper pairs. The spin dynamics is diffusive in the hydrodynamic limit, but the itinerant part does not contribute to the spin diffusion. In the high frequency region, spin–wave-like excitations continue to exist. We discuss our analytic results in the light of neutron scattering experiments performed on the cuprate superconductors.  相似文献
