Manipulation of spontaneous emission from an atom confined in three kinds of modified reservoirs has been investigated by means of an elliptically polarized laser field. Some interesting phenomena such as the multi-peak structure, extreme spectral narrowing, and cancellation of spontaneous emission can be observed by adjusting controllable system parameters. Moreover, these phenomena depend on the constructive or destructive quantum interference between multiple decay channels and which can be changed appreciably by varying the phase difference between the two circularly polarized components of the probe field. These results demonstrate the importance of an elliptically polarized laser field in controlling the spontaneous emission and its potential applications in high-precision spectroscopy.  相似文献

We studied the – characteristics of tunneling devices, defined by two trench fingers and an antidot island patterned on Corbino rings in the quantum Hall plateau regime. Well-developed current steps were observed at filling factors near , which we interpret as a Coulomb staircase phenomenon due to charging of compressible strips around the antidot. The evolution of the current steps with filling factor is explained in the quasi-elastic inter landau level scattering model.  相似文献

We measure the Coulomb drag between parallel split-gate quantum wires with a quantum dot embedded in one of the two wires (drive wire). We observe negative Coulomb drag when a Coulomb oscillation peak appears in the drive wire and the conductance of the other wire (drag wire) is slightly below the first plateau. This indicates that correlation holes are dragged in the drag wire by single electron tunneling through the quantum dot in the drive wire. The drag is only promoted in the drag wire near the barrier regions of the dot, and low compressibility of the drag wire is necessary for the negative drag to occur.  相似文献

We perform an experimental study on high-order harmonic generation (HHG) of aligned acetylene molecules induced by a 35-fs 800-nm strong laser field, by using a home-built HHG spectrometer. It is observed that the molecular HHG probability declines with increasing the laser ellipticity, which is in consistence with the deduction from the well-known tunneling-plus-rescattering scenario. By introducing a weak femtosecond laser pulse to nonadiabatically align the molecules, we investigated the molecular orbital effect on the HHG in both linearly and elliptically polarized driving laser fields. The results show that the harmonic intensity is maximum for the molecular axis aligned perpendicularly to the laser electric field. It indicates that both the highest occupied molecular orbitals (HOMO) and HOMO-1 contribute to the strong-field HHG of acetylene molecules. Our study should pave the way for understanding the interaction of molecules with ultrafast strong laser fields.  相似文献

A spatially periodic magnetic field is essential to cause an electron beam to wiggle and to emit electromagnetic radiation in a synchrotron (SR) source of radiation, and to provide fully coherent light in free electron lasers (FEL). To create this field, permanent magnets (PM) or electromagnets are patterned in a device commonly called an insertion device for SR and a radiator or modulator for FEL. In reality, magnet blocks or iron poles are not identical, in terms of geometry and magnetic properties, even with progressive manufacture. Compensatory methods are thus desired to recover the magnetic field and also to decrease the duration of construction. Magnet sorting is a pre-process that aims to eliminate the effect of manufacturing error. Before assembly of an insertion device, data of each component, especially the magnetic properties of each magnet block and the gap variation of mechanical structure, are organized to optimize the performance of the magnetic field. After that process, there is sometimes an optimization to shim the magnetic field. An effective algorithm of both processes is significant, particularly for a long undulator and an elliptically polarized undulator (EPU).  相似文献

We consider a two-dimensional Coulomb gas of positive and negative pointlike unit charges interacting via a logarithmic potential. The density (rather than the charge) correlation functions are studied. In the bulk, the form-factor theory of an equivalent sine-Gordon model is used to determine the density correlation length. At the surface of a rectilinear plain wall, the universality of the asymptotic behavior of the density correlations is suggested. A scaling analysis implies a local form of the compressibility sum rule near a hard wall. A symmetry of the Coulomb system with respect to the Möbius conformal transformation, which induces a gravitational source acting on the particle density, is established. Among the consequences, a universal term of the finite-size expansion of the grand potential is derived exactly for a disk geometry of the confining domain.  相似文献

We calculate nonperturbatively the irfluence of a strong circularly polarized laser beam on the hydrogen atom energy levels by making use of the time-independent formalism proposed by one of us. The photoionization cross section of the hydrogen atom irradiated by this laser beam and the angular distribution of photoelectrons are also calculated. From the numerical results we clearly see the intensity dependence of the whole photoionization process,including the intensity dependence of the photoelectron energies.  相似文献

A long‐standing debate in the theory of hopping insulators concerns the role of multi‐electron transitions in the dynamics of the system. The natural assumption is that as temperature is lowered, two‐electron transitions will play an increasingly important role since they provide a way of tunneling through additional energy barriers which would be energetically unfavorable as successive one‐electron transitions. This was disputed in [1], but later it was seen in [2]. The reason for this discrepancy is not clear and deserves further attention. One point where the two approaches diverged was in the selection and weighting of the two‐electron transitions relative to one‐electron transitions. We present calculations of the transition rates to second order in the tunneling matrix element, which will be used in improved numerical studies. We compare results for only one‐electron jumps with results including also two‐electron jumps.  相似文献

为了控制光场感应电离等离子体的温度以使得基于光场感应电离机制的X射线激光辐射获得更高的增益值,利用准静态隧道电离模型,定量计算了电子剩余能量与激光偏振参量、波长(频率)、激光强度以及电离介质电离能的变化关系。计算结果表明线偏振短波长激光以及高电离能介质产牛的等离子体中电子剩余能比较低,因此适合用作复合机制X射线激光;对于低价离子存偏振度α介于0~1之间的某一处最高,因此,可以通过调整偏振度α,获得某一椭圆偏振光,会更有利于基于光场感应电离电子碰撞机制X射线激光增益的提高。  相似文献

We investigate atomic above-threshold ionization in elliptically polarized strong laser fields with a semiclassical approach.With increasing laser intensity,the Coulomb focusing(CF) effects are found to become stronger in both parallel and perpendicular directions with respect to the polarization plane.The dependence of CF effects on tunnel exit,initial transverse momentum distribution and laser electric field is analyzed.It was revealed that the effects of tunnel exit are most prominent with variation of the laser intensity,and the other two factors both play non-negligible roles.Our results provide a deeper insight to the recent experiments of Coulomb asymmetry[Shafir D,et al.,2013 Phys.Rev.Lett.111 023005 and Li M,et al,2013 Phys.Rev.Lett.111 023006].  相似文献

Electron-positron pair production in an arbitrary polarized ultrastrong laser field is investigated in the first order perturbation approximation in which the Volkov states are used for convenient calculation of scattering amplitude and cross section. It is found surprisingly that the optimal pair production depends strongly on the polarization. For some cases of field parameters, the optimal field is elliptically polarized or evenly circularly polarized one, rather than the usual linear polarization as indicated by previous works. Single-electron tunneling (SET) and Coulomb blockade (CB) phenomena have been widely observed in nanoscaled electronics and have received intense attention around the world. In the past few years, we have studied SET in carbon nanotube fragments and fullerenes by applying the so-called “Orthodox” theory [28]. As outlined in this review article, we investigated the single-electron charging and discharging process via current-voltage characteristics, gate effect, and electronic structure-related factors. Because the investigated geometric structures are three-dimensionally confined, resulting in a discrete spectrum of energy levels resembling the property of quantum dots, we evidenced the CB and Coulomb staircases in these structures. These nanostructures are sufficiently small that introducing even a single electron is sufficient to dramatically change the transport properties as a result of the charging energy associated with this extra electron. We found that the Coulomb staircases occur in the I–V characteristics only when the width of the left barrier junction is smaller than that of the right barrier junction. In this case, the transmission coefficient of the emitter junction is larger than that of the collector junction; also, occupied levels enter the bias window, thereby enhancing the tunneling extensively.   相似文献

利用Bathe模型,理论模拟了氩团簇在飞秒强激光中(100 fs, 1016 W/cm2)的电离和爆炸过程.研究结果显示,在团簇尺寸较小时,离子平均能量与团簇初始半径平方成正比,爆炸机制为典型的库仑爆炸.随着团簇尺寸的增加,能量增加的速度趋缓并在一定团簇尺寸后趋于饱和.模拟结果与实验数据有较好的吻合.  相似文献

We study electronic transport through a quantum dot (QD) with a precessing magnetic field. By using the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green function method, formulas of local density of states (LDOS) and conductance of QD are derived self-consistently. It shows that the LDOS and conductance have obvious changes with the Coulomb blockade interaction. The intensity and angle of the magnetic field or temperatures, which reflect the mesoscopic structure of the QD are derived. The superiority of this device is that the QD can be controlled easily by the magnetic field, so it is valuable to apply in generating, manipulating and probing spin state.  相似文献
