Suppression of Q-switching instabilities with an actively controlled intracavity loss modulator is demonstrated in an Er-doped waveguide laser that is mode locked with a slow saturable absorber at repetition rates of as much as 100 MHz. By automatic gain control in the feedback loop, stable mode locking is achieved over the entire parameter range of the laser. This approach renders laser stabilization independent of the characteristics of the gain medium and intracavity power. The pulse-shaping dynamics is not affected by the presence of the intracavity loss modulator.  相似文献

Static interference fringes were observed repeatedly with changes of path difference in both homodyne and heterodyne Michelson interferometers. This unique coherence property of an electronically tuned Ti:sapphire laser with an intracavity acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) has revealed the frequency structure and dynamics of the laser field. The fact that static interference occurred in a heterodyne interferometer with unequal path lengths indicates backscattering of the intracavity laser field, suggesting that Brillouin-enhanced four-wave mixing occurs in the intracavity AOTF.  相似文献

This paper demonstrates the influence of external optical feedback on the polarization state of longitudinal modes in quasi-isotropic microchip Nd:YAG lasers. Under optical feedback, the polarization state of longitudinal modes in quasi-isotropic lasers relies strongly on the intracavity anisotropy loss and mode competition. When the intracavity anisotropy loss is small, external optical feedback can cause polarization switching and strong mode competition between two orthogonal linearly polarized eigenstates of one laser longitudinal mode, which leads to the distortion of laser intensity modulation waveform. The polarization switching is independent of the initial external cavity length. By increasing the intracavity anisotropy loss, one polarization eigenstate can be suppressed and the laser works in single-polarization state. A theoretical analysis based on the compound cavity model is presented, which is in good agreement with the experimental results. The results offer guidance to the development of laser feedback interferometers.  相似文献

We demonstrate a mode-locked, erbium-doped fiber laser with its repetition frequency synchronized to a second fiber laser via an intracavity electro-optic modulator (EOM). With servo control from the EOM (bandwidth approximately 230 kHz) and a slower speed intracavity piezoelectric transducer (resonance at approximately 20 kHz), we demonstrate stabilization of the repetition frequency with an in-loop rms timing jitter of 10 fs, integrated over a bandwidth from 1 Hz to 100 kHz. This represents what is to our knowledge the first time an EOM has been introduced inside a mode-locked laser cavity for fast servo action and the lowest timing jitter reported for a mode-locked fiber laser.  相似文献

报道了一种激光二极管阵列(LDA)抽运Nd:YAG双波长和频黄光激光器黄激光是由Nd:YAG晶体的1064 nm和1319 nm谱线腔内和频产生以KTP为和频晶体,采用Ⅱ类临界相位匹配,在12 W的808 nm抽运功率下,获得了最高功率为430 mW连续波基横模的589 nm黄激光输出,光光转换效率为3.6%,光束质量因子M2<1.2实验结果表明采用激光二极管阵列抽运Nd:YAG/KTP腔内和频技术是获得黄激光的高效方法,并可以应用到其它激光增益介质的两条谱线进行腔内和频,获得更多不同颜色的单谱线激光输出  相似文献

High-power single-mode operation of a cw ring dye laser has been obtained by injection of cw single-mode radiation. The intracavity power of this system was used to generate tunable single-mode uv radiation by frequency doubling in a temperature phase-matched ADA crystal: up to 45 W intracavity fundamental power and up to 70 mW extracted uv power have been observed. A theoretical treatment of the injection locked cw ring dye laser system is given for the stationary state. Expressions for the intracavity intensities as a function of the small-signal gain and the saturation intensity are derived.  相似文献

报道了高功率准连续波腔内和频全固态黄光激光器的研究结果.为获得高功率的黄光输出,首先,激光器采用准连续方式运转,在保持抽运水平的条件下降低热效应,从而提高光束质量和光光转换效率;第二,采用热近非稳腔腔型设计,双棒串接补偿热致双折射技术,获得大基模体积高光束质量的基频光;第三,通过优化腔型,采用L型共折叠臂平-凹对称腔,使两束基频光达到空间重合且满足功率配比.通过这些方法,得到了输出功率7.6W,重复频率1.1kHz的准连续波黄光输出.据我们所知,这是目前腔内和频方案所获得的最高功率全固态黄光输出. 关键词: 黄光激光 腔内和频 Nd:YAG激光 全固态激光器  相似文献

The efficient intracavity coherent addition of 16 separate laser Gaussian mode distributions is presented. The coherent addition is achieved in a multichannel pulsed Nd:YAG laser resonator by use of four intracavity interferometric beam combiners. The results reveal 88% combining efficiency with a combined output beam of nearly pure Gaussian distribution.  相似文献

A new model is presented for intracavity absorption in a CW multimode dye laser based on the similarity between the laser and a self-quenched super- regenerative oscillator. The model suggest that the primary interaction mechanism between the atomic absorber and the laser is through a modification of the background radiation level from which the oscillation builds up. Numerical calculations are carried out leading to a prediction of the spectral line shape to be observed in intracavity absorption as well as the dependence of the signal on absorber density and pump power.  相似文献

We report in situ characterization of a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) in an operating Yb:KGW mode-locked laser. The technique may be described as a pump-probe experiment in which the intracavity beam acts as a pump beam while the output of the same laser is used as a test beam for the SESAM reflectivity. At zero delay, the probe pulse overlaps in time with the subsequent intracavity pulse. The method is an alternative to standard pump-probe measurements in situations where the intracavity parameters such as energy fluence onto the SESAM, pulse length, and center wavelength cannot be achieved simultaneously with available lasers.  相似文献

We present for the first time a Nd:YAG laser emitting at 1319 nm intracavity pumped by a 946 nm diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser. A 809 nm laser diode is used to pump the first Nd:YAG crystal emitting at 946 nm, and the second Nd:YAG laser emitting at 1319 nm intracavity pumped at 946 nm. Intracavity sumfrequency mixing at 946 and 1319 nm was then realized in a LBO crystal to reach the yellow range. We obtained a continuous-wave output power of 158 mW at 551 nm with a pump laser diode emitting 18.7 W at 809 nm.  相似文献

介绍了一种腔内光强增强型凹面光栅选线法的热带连续波CO2激光器的设计及实验参数。在腔内不加CO2热吸收池,采用总气压为1 074.9 Pa、体积分数为13%CO2,15%N2和72%He的混合气体,放电电流为25 mA的情况下,除了在常规带0001-[1000,0200]Ⅰ,Ⅱ内观察到从R(56)到P(60)的100多条谱线以外,还得到11μm附近的其它谱线18条,其中0111-0310谱带9条,0111-1110谱带9条。实验发现,当激光器中氦气的比例升高时,激光的输出功率随之下降。每条谱线的腔内单程功率都超过35 W,足够满足大多数腔内光化学研究方面的需要。  相似文献

We report an Yb:Sr5(PO4)3F (Yb:S-FAP) laser emitting at 985 nm intracavity pumped by a 912 nm diode-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser. A 808 nm diode laser is used to pump the Nd:GdVO4 crystal emitting at 912 nm, and the Yb:S-FAP laser emitting at 985 nm intracavity pumped at 912 nm. With incident pump power of 17.5 W, intracavity second harmonic generation has been demonstrated with a power of 131 mW at 492.5 nm by using a LBO nonlinear crystal.  相似文献

In a ring travelling-wave dye laser a parasitic structure in the intracavity absorption spectrum is fully eliminated and a detection limit as low as 10-10 cm-1 is obtained. Noise characteristic of sum-frequency mixing orange solid-state laser   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A laser-diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 orange solid-state laser is described in this paper. The fundamental wavelengths at 1064 and 1342 nm oscillate simultaneously and generate the 593.5 nm wavelength by intracavity sum-frequency mixing in a KTP crystal using type II phase matching. The noise characteristic of laser output has been measured and analyzed at different pumping powers. The relationship between the amplitude noise of sum-frequency mixing output and the longitudinal modes of fundamental frequency has been investigated. The results show that the sum-frequency mixing output has low noise if one of the fundamental wavelengths is single longitudinal mode. The experiment shows that amplitude noise of the intracavity sum-frequency mixing laser is lower than that of intracavity frequency doubled laser with the same structure.  相似文献

The intracavity second-harmonic generation of pulsed chemical oxygen-iodine laser radiation was investigated. A pulsed chemical oxygen-iodine laser with a maximum output energy of 6.14 mJ was used. The second-harmonic output of 0.5 mJ was demonstrated using a lithium iodate crystal. The conversion efficiency of 8% was limited by intracavity losses. Numerical simulation predicts that a conversion efficiency of 75% can be obtained with 1% intracavity losses.  相似文献
