Half titanocenes (CpCH2CH2O)TiCl2 (1), (CpCH2CH2OCH3)TiCl3 (2), and CpTiCl3 (3), activated by methylaluminoxane (MAO) were tested in copolymerization of ethylene with internal olefins such as cyclopentene. All the catalysts were able to give incorporation of cyclopentene in polyethylene matrix. 13C NMR analysis of obtained copolymers showed that the catalytic systems have low regiospecificity. In fact, in ethylene–cyclopentene copolymers, cyclic olefin inserts with both 1,2 and 1,3‐enchainment. X‐ray powder diffraction analysis of these copolymers confirmed that 1,2 inserted cyclopentene units are excluded from crystalline phase, whereas 1,3‐cyclopentene units are included, giving rise to expansion of unit cell of crystalline polyethylene. Titanium‐based catalysts were investigated also in the copolymerization of ethylene with E and Z‐2‐butene. Only complex (1) was able to give copolymers and 13C NMR analysis of products showed 2‐3, 1‐3, and 1‐2 insertion of 2‐butene. Differential scanning calorimetry analysis displayed that ethylene–cyclopentene, as well as ethylene‐2‐butene, copolymers are crystalline and their melting point decreases by increasing the comonomer content. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The copolymerizations of ethylene and cyclopentene with bis(β‐enaminoketonato) titanium complexes {[(Ph)NC(R2)CHC(R1)O]2TiCl2; R1 = CF3 and R2 = CH3 for 1a , R1 = Ph and R2 = CF3 for 1b ; and R1 = t‐Bu and R2 = CF3 for 1c } activated with modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO) as a cocatalyst were investigated. High‐molecular‐weight copolymers with cis‐1,2‐cyclopentene units were obtained. The catalyst activity, cyclopentene incorporation, polymer molecular weight, and polydispersity could be controlled over a wide range through the variation of the catalyst structure and reaction parameters, such as the Al/Ti molar ratio, cyclopentene feed concentration, and polymerization reaction temperature. The complex 1b /MMAO catalyst system exhibited the characteristics of a quasi‐living ethylene polymerization and an ethylene–cyclopentene copolymerization and allowed the synthesis of polyethylene‐block‐poly(ethylene‐co‐cyclopentene) diblock copolymer. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Monocyclopentadienyl titanium imidazolin‐2‐iminato complexes [Cp′Ti(L)X2] 1a (Cp′ = cyclopentadienyl, L = 1,3‐di‐tert‐butylimidazolin‐2‐imide, X = Cl), 1b (X = CH3); 2 (Cp′ = cyclopentadienyl, L = 1,3‐diisopropylimidazolin‐2‐imide, X = Cl); 3 (Cp′ = tert‐butylcyclopentadienyl, L = 1,3‐di‐tert‐butylimidazolin‐2‐imide, X = Cl), upon activation with methylaluminoxane (MAO) were active for the polymerization of ethylene and propylene and the copolymerization of ethylene and 1‐hexene. Catalysts derived from imidazolin‐2‐iminato tropidinyl titanium complex 4 = [(Trop)Ti(L)Cl2] (Trop = tropidinyl, L = 1,3‐di‐tert‐butylimidazolin‐2‐imide) were much less active. Narrow polydispersities were observed for ethylene and propylene polymerization, but the copolymerization of ethylene/hexene led to bimodal molecular weight distributions. The productivity of catalysts derived from the dialkyl complex 1b activated with [Ph3C][B(C6F5)4] or B(C6F5)3 were less active for ethylene/hexene copolymerization but yielded ethylene/hexene copolymers of narrower molecular weight distributions than those derived from 1a/MAO. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 2‐Dicyclohexyl‐ and 2‐diphenylphosphinophenol, CCHH and PPHH , react with Ni(1,5‐COD)2 to form catalysts for polymerization of ethylene in or copolymerization with α‐olefins. The more P‐basic CCHH/Ni catalyst allows concentration‐dependent incorporation of olefins to give copolymers with isolated side groups and higher molecular weights, whereas the PPHH/Ni catalyst undergoes mainly stabilizing interactions with the olefins and leads to ethylene oligomers with no or marginal olefin incorporation. Pressure–time plots of the batch reactions show that the ethylene conversion is usually slower by catalysis with CCHH/Ni than by PPHH/Ni . The microstructure of the copolymers was determined by 13C NMR spectra, the number of side groups per main chain was estimated by 1H NMR analyses. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Activated with methylaluminoxane (MAO), phenoxy‐based zirconium complexes bis[(3‐tBu‐C6H3‐2‐O)‐CH?NC6H5]ZrCl2, bis[(3,5‐di‐tBu‐C6H2‐2‐O)‐PhC?NC6H5] ZrCl2, and bis[(3,5‐di‐tBu‐C6H2‐2‐O)‐PhC?N(2‐F‐C6H4)]ZrCl2 for the first time have been used for the copolymerization of ethylene with 10‐undecen‐1‐ol. In comparison with the conventional metallocene, the phenoxy‐based zirconium complexes exhibit much higher catalytic activities [>107 g of polymer (mol of catalyst)?1 h?1]. The incorporation of 10‐undecen‐1‐ol into the copolymers and the properties of the copolymers are strongly affected by the catalyst structure. Among the three catalysts, complex c is the most favorable for preparing higher molecular weight functionalized polyethylene containing a higher content of hydroxyl groups. Studies on the polymerization conditions indicate that the incorporated commoner content in the copolymers mainly depends on the comonomer concentration in the feed. The catalytic activity is slightly affected by the Al(MAO)/Zr molar ratio but decreases greatly with an increase in the polymerization temperature. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The kinetic features of ethylene polymerization on ten methylalumoxane-activated self-immobilized bis(phenoxyimine) complexes of titanium chloride of various structure containing oxyallyl functional groups were studied. The catalytic activity of the systems was determined in the temperature range 20–60 °C under ethylene pressure 0.4 MPa. The positions and structures of the oxyallyl group and substituents in the phenoxy groups of the complexes substantially change the activity of the catalytic systems based on these complexes, the rate of the self-immobilization of the catalysts on the polymer, and molecular weights and molecular weight distributions of the obtained polyethylenes.  相似文献

Catalysts obtained by interacting Ti(CH2C6H5)4 or Zr(π-C3H5)4 with the surface of SiO2 and treated with hydrogen possess a very high activity with respect to hydrogenation of benzene and cyclohexene. This activity is commensurable with that of supported Group VIII metals. The catalysts were studied by chemisorption, thermodesorption and EXAFS methods, and were shown to contain anchored hydride complexes of Ti and Zr, whose content can be controlled by varying the temperature of their treatment with hydrogen. A quantitative correlation exists between the specific activity of the catalysts under consideration in hydrogenation reactions and the content of hydride complexes in these catalysts.  相似文献

Homo‐ and copolymerization of ethylene and norbornene were investigated with bis(β‐diketiminato) titanium complexes [ArNC(CR3)CHC(CR3)NAr]2TiCl2 (R = F, Ar = 2,6‐diisopropylphenyl 2a; R = F, Ar = 2,6‐dimethylphenyl 2b ; R = H, Ar = 2,6‐diisopropylphenyl 2c ; R = H, Ar = 2,6‐dimethylphenyl 2d) in the presence of methylaluminoxane (MAO). The influence of steric and electric effects of complexes on catalytic activity was evaluated. With MAO as cocatalyst, complexes 2a–d are moderately active catalysts for ethylene polymerization producing high‐molecular weight polyethylenes bearing linear structures, but low active catalysts for norbornene polymerization. Moreover, 2a – d are also active ethylene–norbornene (E–N) copolymerization catalysts. The incorporation of norbornene in the E–N copolymer could be controlled by varying the charged norbornene. 13C NMR analyses showed the microstructures of the E–N copolymers were predominantly alternated and isolated norbornene units in copolymer, dyad, and triad sequences of norbornene were detected in the E–N copolymers with high incorporated content of norbornene. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of heteroligated (salicylaldiminato)(β‐enaminoketonato)titanium complexes [3‐But‐2‐OC6H3CH = N(C6F5)] [PhN = C(R1)CHC(R2)O]TiCl2 [ 3a : R1 = CF3, R2 = tBu; 3b : R1 = Me, R2 = CF3; 3c : R1 = CF3, R2 = Ph; 3d : R1 = CF3, R2 = C6H4Ph(p ); 3e : R1 = CF3, R2 = C6H4Ph(o ); 3f : R = CF3, R2 = C6H4Cl(p ); 3g : R1 = CF3; R2 = C6H3Cl2(2,5); 3h : R1 = CF3, R2 = C6H4Me(p )] were investigated as catalysts for ethylene (co)polymerization. In the presence of modified methylaluminoxane as a cocatalyst, these complexes showed activities about 50%–1000% and 10%–100% higher than their corresponding bis(β‐enaminoketonato) titanium complexes for ethylene homo‐ and ethylene/1‐hexene copolymerization, respectively. They produced high or moderate molecular weight copolymers with 1‐hexene incorporations about 10%–200% higher than their homoligated counterpart pentafluorinated FI‐Ti complex. Among them, complex 3b displayed the highest activity [2.06 × 106 g/molTi?h], affording copolymers with the highest 1‐hexene incorporations of 34.8 mol% under mild conditions. Moreover, catalyst 3h with electron‐donating group not only exhibited much higher 1‐hexene incorporations (9.0 mol% vs. 3.2 mol%) than pentafluorinated FI‐Ti complex but also generated copolymers with similar narrow molecular weight distributions (M w/M n = 1.20–1.26). When the 1‐hexene concentration in the feed was about 2.0 mol/L and the hexene incorporation of resultant polymer was about 9.0 mol%, a quasi‐living copolymerization behavior could be achieved. 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopic analysis of their resulting copolymers demonstrated the possible copolymerization mechanism, which was related with the chain initiation, monomer insertion style, chain transfer and termination during the polymerization process. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The relation between the polymerization conditions and the distributions of molecular weight (MWD) and chemical composition (CCD) of poly(ethylene‐co‐1‐hexene) made with single supported metallocene catalysts was investigated. Understanding the behavior of each metallocene under different polymerization conditions is necessary for designing combined metallocene catalysts to produce tailor‐made polyolefins. In this article, a simple mathematical model based on experimental results is developed and combined with the bimodality criterion developed in Part I of this series to predict polymerization conditions and metallocene combinations that will produce polymers with desired MWDs and CCDs. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Copolymerization of ethylene with isoprene (IP) catalyzed by 1,4‐dithabutanediyl‐linked bis(phenolato) titanium complexes 1 and 2 and methylaluminoxane (MAO) produced exclusively ethylene‐IP copolymers with good activity. The copolymer microstructure can be varied by changing the ratio between the monomers in the copolymerization feed, affording copolymers with IP content ~60%. The copolymer microstructure was fully elucidated by 13C‐NMR spectroscopy of the copolymers with various IP content revealing a strong tendency to the alternating microstructure. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three heteroligated (salicylaldiminato)(β‐enaminoketonato)titanium complexes [3‐But‐2‐OC6H3CH?N(C6F5)][(p‐XC6H4)N?C(But)CHC(CF3)O]TiCl2 ( 3a : X = F, 3b : X = Cl, 3c : X = Br) were synthesized and investigated as the catalysts for ethylene polymerization and ethylene/norbornene copolymerization. In the presence of modified methylaluminoxane as a cocatalyst, these unsymmetric catalysts exhibited high activities toward ethylene polymerization, similar to their parallel parent catalysts. Furthermore, they also displayed favorable ability to efficiently incorporate norbornene into the polymer chains and produce high molecular weight copolymers under the mild conditions, though the copolymerization of ethylene with norbornene leads to relatively lower activities. The sterically open structure of the β‐enaminoketonato ligand is responsible for the high norbornene incorporation. The norbornene concentration in the polymerization medium had a profound influence on the molecular weight distribution of the resulting copolymer. When the norbornene concentration in the feed is higher than 0.4 mol/L, the heteroligated catalysts mediated the living copolymerization of ethylene with norbornene to form narrow molecular weight distribution copolymers (Mw/Mn < 1.20), which suggested that chain termination or transfer reaction could be efficiently suppressed via the addition of norbornene into the reaction medium. Polymer yields, catalytic activity, molecular weight, and norbornene incorporation can be controlled within a wide range by the variation of the reaction parameters such as comonomer content in the feed, reaction time, and temperature. ©2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of titanium complexes with ansa‐(fluorenyl)(cyclododecylamido) ligands, Me2Si(η3‐R)(N‐c‐C12H23)TiMe2 [R = fluorenyl ( 5 ), 2,7‐tBu2fluorenyl ( 6 ), 3,6‐tBu2fluorenyl ( 7 )], was synthesized. The crystal structure of complex 6 revealed η3‐coordination of the fluorenyl moiety to the metal. Upon activation with trialkylaluminum‐free modified methylaluminoxane, complexes 5 – 7 as well as the corresponding tBu amide complexes, Me2Si(η3‐R)(NtBu)TiMe2 [R = fluorenyl ( 2 ), 2,7‐tBu2fluorenyl ( 3 ), 3,6‐tBu2fluorenyl ( 4 )], were adopted as the catalysts for the copolymerization of ethylene (E) and isobutylene (IB). Among these complexes, complex 6 was found to achieve the highest IB incorporation to produce alternating E‐IB copolymers. Complex 6 system also achieved copolymerization of E and limonene. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2013  相似文献

Isoprene polymerization and copolymerization with ethylene can be carried out by using cationic half‐sandwich fluorenyl scandium catalysts in situ generated from half‐sandwich fluorenyl scandium dialkyl complexes Flu'Sc(CH2SiMe3)2(THF)n, activator, and AliBu3 under mild conditions. In the isoprene polymerization, all of these cationic half‐sandwich fluorenyl scandium catalysts exhibit high activities (up to 1.89 × 107 g/molSc h) and mainly cis?1,4 selectivities (up to 93%) under similar conditions. In contrast, these catalysts showed different activities and regio‐/stereoselectivities being significantly dependent on the substituents of the fluorenyl ligands in the copolymerization of isoprene with ethylene under an atmosphere of ethylene (1 atm) at room temperature, affording the random copolymers with a wide range of cis?1,4‐isoprene contents (IP content: 64 ? 97%, cis?1,4‐IP units: 65 ? 79%) or almost alternating copolymers containing mainly 3,4‐IP‐alt‐E or/and cis?1,4‐IP‐alt‐E sequences. Moreover, novel high performance polymers have been prepared via selective epoxidation of the vinyl groups of the 1,4‐isoprene units in the IP‐E copolymers. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. A series of heteroligated (salicylaldiminato)(β‐enaminoketonato)titanium complexes [3‐tBu‐2‐OC6H3CH?N(C6F5)] [PhN?C(CF3)CHCRO]TiCl2 [ 3a : R = Ph, 3b : R = C6H4Cl(p), 3c : R = C6H4OMe(p), 3d : R = C6H4Me(p), 3e : R = C6H4Me(o)] were synthesized and characterized. Molecular structures of 3b and 3c were further confirmed by X‐ray crystallographic analyses. In the presence of modified methylaluminoxane as a cocatalyst, these unsymmetric catalysts displayed favorable ability to incorporate 5‐vinyl‐2‐norbornene (VNB) and 5‐ethylidene‐2‐norbornene (ENB) into the polymer chains, affording high‐molecular weight copolymers with high‐comonomer incorporations and alternating sequence under the mild conditions. The comonomer concentration in the polymerization medium had a profound influence on the molecular weight distribution of the resultant copolymer. At initial comonomer concentration of higher than 0.4 mol/L, the titanium complexes with electron‐donating groups in the β‐enaminoketonato moiety mediated room‐temperature living ethylene/VNB or ENB copolymerizations. Polymerization results coupled with density functional theory calculations suggested that the highly controlled living copolymerization is probably a consequence of the difficulty in chain transfer of VNB (or ENB)‐last‐inserted species and some characteristics of living ethylene polymerization under limited conditions. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A family of titanium complexes of the general formula [N‐(3,5‐di‐tert‐butylsalicylidene)‐2‐alkylsulfanylanilinato]Ti(IV)Cl3 5a – f was prepared from the reaction of TiCl4 with the potassium salts of the corresponding ligands. These complexes were fully characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and elemental analyses. The molecular structures of 5b and 5e were further confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray analyses. Complexes 5a – f (except for 5c ) exhibited good to high catalytic activities in ethylene copolymerization with cycloolefins such as norbornene, cyclopentene, dicyclopentadiene in the presence of modified methylaluminoxane. The reaction conditions and the steric hindrance of the alkyl substituents on sulfur atom in the precatalysts influenced strongly the copolymerization behaviors and the structures of the resultant copolymers. Complex 5c with bulky tert‐butylthio sidearm showed both low catalytic activity and comonomer incorporation ratio. The n‐alkylthio complexes 5a , 5d – f all exhibited good ethylene copolymerization capabilities with cycloolefins, which is superior to the corresponding phenylthio complex 5g . © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 2,6‐Bis(imino)pyridyl complexes of Fe and Co in combination with methylalumoxane form very active homogeneous catalytic systems for polymerization of ethylene. GPC analysis of the polymers prepared with the complexes indicates that the Co complexes produce single‐center catalysts whereas the Fe complexes produce catalysts with numerous types of active centers. Different centers in the latter catalyst systems respond differently to reaction conditions such as the reaction duration, the [MAO]:[Fe] ratio, the ethylene concentration, etc. The article examines the effects of reaction variables on the performance of both types of catalysts and proposes an explanation for the complex behavior of the catalysts derived from the Fe complexes. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of novel nonmetallocene catalysts with phenoxy‐imine ligands was synthesized by the treatment of phthaldialdehyde, substituted phenol with TiCl4, ZrCl4, and YCl3 in THF. The structures and properties of the catalysts were characterized by 1H NMR and elemental analysis. These catalysts were used for copolymerization of ethylene with acrylonitrile after activated by methylaluminoxane (MAO). The effects of copolymerization temperature, Al/M (M = Ti, Zr, and Y) ratio in mole, concentrations of catalyst and comonomer on the polymerization behaviors were investigated in detail. These results revealed that these catalysts were favorable for copolymerization of ethylene with acrylonitrile. Cat. 3 was the most favorable one for the copolymerization of ethylene with acrylonitrile, and the catalytic activity was up to 2.19 × 104 g PE/mol.Ti.h under the conditions: polymerization temperature of 50 °C, Al/Ti molar ratio of 300, catalyst concentration of 1.0 × 10–4 mol/L, and toluene as solvent. The resultant polymer was characterized by FTIR, cross‐polarization magic angle spinning, 13C NMR, WAXD, GPC, and DSC. The results confirmed that the obtained copolymer featured high‐weight–average molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution about 1.61–1.95, and high‐acrylonitrile incorporation up to 2.29 mol %. Melting temperature of the copolymer depended on the content of acrylonitrile incorporation within the copolymer chain. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2012  相似文献

A series of novel bridged multi‐chelated non‐metallocene catalysts is synthesized by the treatment of N,N‐imidazole, N,N‐dimethylimidazole, and N,N‐benzimidazole with n‐BuLi, 2,6‐dimethylaniline, and MCl4 (M = Ti, Zr) in THF. These catalysts are used for copolymerization of ethylene with 1‐hexene after activated by methylaluminoxane (MAO). The effects of polymerization temperature, Al/M molar ratio, and pressure of monomer on ethylene copolymerization behaviors are investigated in detail. These results reveal that these catalysts are favorable for copolymerization of ethylene with 1‐hexene featured high catalytic activity and high comonomer incorporation. The copolymer is characterized by 13C NMR, WAXD, GPC, and DSC. The results confirm that the obtained copolymer features broad molecular weight distribution (MWD) about 33–35 and high 1‐hexene incorporation up to 9.2 mol %, melting temperature of the copolymer depends on the content of 1‐hexene incorporation within the copolymer chain and 1‐hexene unit in the copolymer chain isolates by ethylene units.
