Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes have been synthesized with a new tetradentate ligand viz. 1,3,7,9-tetraaza-2,4,8,10-tetraketo-6,12-diphenyl-cyclododecane (L) and characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H NMR, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to be nonelectrolytic nature for Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) while 1:2 electrolytes for Ni(II) complexes. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 (where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl and NO3).On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, square-planar for Ni(II) whereas tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The ligand and its complexes were also evaluated against the growth of bacteria and pathogenic fungi in vitro.  相似文献

Mononuclear palladium(II) complexes containing both pyrazole-type ligands and thiocyanate, of general formula [Pd(SCN)2(L)2] {L = pyrazole (HPz) and 1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazole (phmPz)} have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, i.r. and n.m.r. spectroscopy and by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The Pd atom in these structures lies on the crystallographic inversion center; in a square-planar coordination geometry made by two sulfur and two nitrogen atoms of the ligands, both in trans positions.  相似文献

The synthesis of novel bimetallic Cu(II) complexes with general stoichiometry [Cu(2)(H(2)L)X(2)(H(2)O)(2)], [Cu(2)(H(2)L)(CH(3)COO)(2)] and [Cu(2)(H(2)L)SO(4)(H(2)O)(2)] (where H(2)L=dideprotonated ligand and X=NO(3)(-) and Cl(-)) derived from tetradentate ligand obtained by the condensation of 1,4-diformyl piperazine with carbohydrazide has been discussed. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, mass, UV, EPR spectral studies and thermogravimetric analyses. The value of magnetic moments indicates that the complexes are paramagnetic and show the antiferromagnetic interaction between the two metal centres. The complexes possess the square planar coordination environment. The values of covalency measurements, i.e., in-plane sigma-bonding alpha(2), in-plane pi-bonding beta(2) and orbital reduction factor k indicate the covalent nature of complexes.  相似文献

A new series of copper(II) complexes have been synthesized with macrocyclic ligands having three different donating atoms in the macrocyclic ring. It has been shown that the stereochemistry of complexes is dependent on the coordinated anions. These complexes are characterized by various physicochemical techniques, viz. elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic, 1H NMR and EPR spectral studies. Cyclic voltammetric behavior of the complexes has also been discussed. The observed anisotropic g-values indicate that the chloro and acetato complexes are six-coordinate tetragonal. Whereas the sulfato and nitrato complexes are found to have five-coordinate square-pyramidal and four-coordinate square-planar geometry, respectively.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes having the general composition Cu(L)(2)X(2) [where L = isopropyl methyl ketone semicarbazone (LLA), isopropyl methyl ketone thiosemicarbazone (LLB), 4-aminoacetophenone semicarbazone (LLC), and 4-aminoacetophenone thiosemicarbazone (LLD) and X = Cl(-), 1/2SO(4)(2-)] have been synthesized. All the Cu(II) complexes reported here have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment susceptibility, EI mass, (1)H NMR, IR, EPR, and electronic spectral studies. All the complexes were found to have magnetic moments corresponding to one unpaired electrons. The possible geometries of the complexes were assigned on the basis of EPR, electronic, and infrared spectral studies.  相似文献

Cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes with three dioxime ligands cyclohexylamine-p-tolylglyoxime (L1H2), tert-butyl amine-p-tolylglioxime (L2H2) and sec-butylamine-p-tolylglyoxime (L3H2), have been prepared. The metal to ligand ratios of the complexes were found to be 1?:?2. The Cu(II) complexes of these ligands are proposed to be square planar; the Co(II) complexes are proposed to be octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands. Ligands and complexes are soluble in common solvents such as DMSO, DMF, CHCl3 and C2H5OH. The ligands have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-VIS, 1H?NMR, 13C?NMR and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-VIS, magnetic susceptibility measurements, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and electrochemistry. Electrochemical properties of metal complexes show quasi-reversible one-electron redox processes. However, Co(L1H)2 and Cu(L1H)2 complexes show another oxidation peak in the positive region. This single irreversible oxidation peak is caused by the cyclic ring of the ligand. Data also revealed that the electron transfer rates of metal complexes with L1H2 are higher than the other complexes.  相似文献

The mixed donor tetradentate (L(1)=N(2)O(2)) and pentadentate (L(2)=N(2)O(2)S) ligands have been prepared by the interaction of 1,3-diaminopropane and thiodiglycolic acid with diamine. These ligands possess two dissimilar coordination sites. Different types of complexes were obtained which have different stoichiometry depending upon the type of ligands. Their structural investigation have been based on elemental analysis, magnetic moment and spectral (ultraviolet, infrared, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR and mass spectroscopy methods). The Ni(II) complexes show magnetic moments corresponding to two unpaired electrons except [Ni(L(1))](NO(3))(2) which is diamagnetic. Ligand field parameters of these complexes were compared. N(2)O(2)S donor ligand complexes show higher values of ligand field parameters, which are used to detect their geometries. The redox properties and stability of the complexes toward oxidation waves explored by cyclic voltammetry are related to the electron-withdrawing or releasing ability of the substituents of macrocyclic ligands moiety. The Ni(II) complexes displayed Ni(II)/Ni(I) couples irreversible waves associated with Ni(III)/Ni(II) process.  相似文献

Two types of copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes derived from benzophenone anthranoylhydrazone (L1), 2-acetonaftanone anthranoylhydrazone (L2), 4-phenylacetonaftonone anthranoylhydrazone (L3), benzophenone salicyoylhydrazone (L4), 2-acetonaftanon salicyoylhydrazone (L5), 4-phenylacetonaftanon salicyoylhydrazone (L6) and bidentate heterocyclic base [1,10-phenanthroline (phen)] with general stoichiometry [ML2] and [ML(phen)]Cl have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, UV-vis electronic absorption spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The effect of varying pH and solvent on the absorption behavior of both ligands and complexes have been investigated. According to the IR spectra, the ligands act as monobasic bidentate and coordination takes place in the enol tautomeric form.  相似文献

The coordination of Cu(II) to the Keggin type anions α-undecatungstophosphocuprate(II) and α-undecatungstoborocuprate(II) was investigated in different environments by EPR and electronic spectroscopy. This study has shown that the coordination geometry around Cu(II) in the tetrabutylammonium (TBA) salts, (TBA)4Hx[XW11CuO39], with X=P or B, is square pyramidal, with copper bound to the five oxygen donor atoms of the polyoxometalate, whereas for the [XW11Cu(H2O)O39]n anion, on the corresponding potassium salt, a tetragonally elongated pseudo-octahedral geometry was found. For the potassium salts, in aqueous solution, six-coordinated copper is the only form found. For the TBA salts, in nonaqueous solvents, we can observe either the presence of only one form (the six-coordinated Cu(II) species, with a solvent molecule bound to copper), or of two forms: the solvent coordinated copper anions and the five-coordinated copper [XW11CuO39]n anions.  相似文献

Summary Preparation of cobalt(II) halide complexes with neutral bidentate ligands, including 2-pyridyl alkyl ketones, is reported. 2-Pyridyl alkyl ketones act as monodentate or bidentate ligands depending on the reaction solvent used. Tetrahedral complexes are isolated for all potential -donating neutral ligands.trans-Octahedral complexes are formed only if the neutral ligands are strong -donors and -acceptors. The stereochemistry of cobalt(II) halide complexes is discussed in relation to the nature of the neutral ligands.  相似文献

In this study, the novel vic-dioxime ligand (3) and its Ni(II), Cu(II), Co(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes (48) were synthesized for the first time by condensation reactions of N-(4-aminophenyl)aza-15-crown-5 (1) and anti-chlorophenylchloroglyoxime (2). All of these new compounds were characterized by the elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared, ultraviolet–visible, mass spectrometry, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The electrochemical properties of the ligand and its complexes have been investigated by cyclic voltammetry at the glassy carbon electrode in 0.1 M TBATFB in DMSO.  相似文献

Mixed ligand complexes of iron(III), [Fe(sb)2(py)Cl]?·?2H2O (1–9) [where sbH?=?Schiff bases (derived from condensation of 2-aminopyridine (sapH), 2-aminophenol (saphH), o-toluidine (o-smabH), aminobenzene (sabH), p-toluidine (p-smabH), 3-nitroaniline (snabH), and anthranilic acid (saaH) with salicylaldehyde and substituted (mercapto-)benzimidazole (mbzH), {2-(o-hydroxyphenyl)}benzoxazole, (pboxH)], have been synthesized by the interactions of iron(III) chloride with corresponding ligands in 1?:?2 molar ratio in refluxing pyridine. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, melting points, spectral, and magnetic studies. Powder X-ray diffraction studies of some representative complexes are also reported herein. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of the free ligands and their iron(III) complexes were found in vitro. The complexes showed good antibacterial and antifungal effect to some bacteria and fungi. Two standard antibiotics (chloromphenicol and terbinafine) were used for comparison with these complexes.  相似文献

Reaction of divalent cobalt(II) and trivalent ruthenium(III) salts (NO3, SCN and SO4) with macrocyclic ligands L1, L2 and L3 having N2S2, N4 and N5 core, have been designed and carry out. All these three macrocyclic ligands and their complexes were obtained in pure form. Their structures were investigated by using microanalytical analyses, IR, mass, magnetic moments, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The redox properties of the complexes were also examined by cyclic voltammetry. An interesting feature of complexes is that the relatively large rings of macrocyclic ligands prevent the macrocyclic rings from approaching the metal center as closely as they would, if they were not constrained. So the Ru-N distances are longer than expected due to ring size. Electrochemical studies show that the macrocyclic ligand L1 is more effective electron donors to ruthenium than of L2 and L3. Electronic spectral properties also show that the sulphur donor atom of L1 weakens the ligand field with respect to ligand-to-metal charge-transfer band. However it is expected that second-row transition metal-ligand bonds tend to be weaker than third-row transition metal-ligand bonds. There are well-established examples of reactions in which decreased of reactivity down a triad of transition metals is not observed. These novelties are usually attributed to pi-bonding effects for ligands such as carbon monoxide, solvent effects, or a change in mechanism.  相似文献

Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes are synthesized with a novel tetradentate macrocyclic ligand, i.e. 2,6,12,16,21,22-hexaaza;3,5,13,15-tetraphenyltricyclo[15,3,1,1(7-11)] docosa;1(21),2,5,7,9,11(22),12,15,17,19-decaene (L) and characterized by the elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, (1)H NMR, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. All the complexes are non-electrolytic in nature. Thus, these may be formulated as [M(L)X(2)] [M=Ni(II), Cu(II) and X=Cl(-), NO(3)(-) and (1/2)SO(4)(2-)]. Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes show magnetic moments corresponding to two and one unpaired electron, respectively. On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Ni(II) and tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

Two mononuclear copper(II) complexes [Cu(L)(NO2)](ClO4) (1) and [Cu(L)(MO4)]2· 5H2O (2) (L = 1,3,10, 12,16,19-hexaazatetracyclo[17,3,1,112.16,04.9]tetracosane) have been synthesized and their structures determined. Both compounds show a distorted square-pyramidal geometry with the two secondary and two tertiary amines of the macrocycle and one ligand coordinated at the axial position. Cyclic voltammetry of the complexes gives two one-electron waves corresponding to CuII/CuIII and CuII/CuI processes. The electronic spectra and electrochemical behavior of the complexes are significantly affected by the nature of the organic ligands.  相似文献

The synthesis, molecular structures, and spectroscopic properties of a series of valence-delocalized diiron(II,III) complexes are described. One-electron oxidation of diiron(II) tetracarboxylate complexes afforded the compounds [Fe(2)(mu-O(2)CAr(Tol))(4)L(2)]X, where L = 4-(t)BuC(5)H(4)N (1b), C(5)H(5)N (2b), and THF (3b); X = PF(6)(-) (1b and 3b) and OTf(-) (2b). In 1b-3b, four mu-1,3 carboxylate ligands span relatively short Fe...Fe distances of 2.6633(11)-2.713(3) A. Intense (epsilon = 2700-3200 M(-1) cm(-1)) intervalence charge transfer bands were observed at 620-670 nm. EPR spectroscopy confirmed the S = (9)/(2) ground spin state of 1b-3b, the valence-delocalized nature of which was probed by X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The electron delocalization between paramagnetic metal centers is described by double exchange, which, for the first time, is observed in diiron clusters having no single-atom bridging ligand(s).  相似文献

Metal complexes are synthesized with Schiff bases derived from o-phthalaldehyde (opa) and amino acids viz., glycine (gly) l-alanine (ala), l-phenylalanine (pal). Metal ions coordinate in a tetradentate or hexadentate manner with these N(2)O(2) donor ligands, which are characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moments, IR, electronic, (1)H NMR and EPR spectral studies. The elemental analysis suggests the stoichiometry to be 1:1 (metal:ligand). Based on EPR studies, spin-Hamiltonian and bonding parameters have been calculated. The g-values calculated for copper complexes at 300K and in frozen DMSO (77K) indicate the presence of the unpaired electron in the dx2-y2 orbital. The evaluated metal-ligand bonding parameters showed strong in-plane sigma- and pi-bonding. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron micrography (SEM) analysis provide the crystalline nature and the morphology of the metal complexes. The cyclic voltammograms of the Cu(II)/Mn(II)/VO(II) complexes investigated in DMSO solution exhibit metal centered electroactivity in the potential range -1.5 to +1.5V. The electrochemical data obtained for Cu(II) complexes explains the change of structural arrangement of the ligand around Cu(II) ions. The biological activity of the complexes has been tested on eight bacteria and three fungi. Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes show an increased activity in comparison to the controls. The metal complexes of opapal Schiff base were evaluated for their DNA cleaving activities with calf-thymus DNA (CT DNA) under aerobic conditions. Cu(II) and VO(II) complexes show more pronounced activity in presence of the oxidant.  相似文献

A series of five new copper(II) macrocyclic complexes have been synthesized by template condensation. The bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV-visible, EPR spectral studies and electrochemical properties. g-Values are calculated for all of the complexes in polycrystalline form as well as in DMSO solution. The magnetic and spectral data indicate square planar geometry for all the complexes. Cyclic voltammograms for all the complexes are similar and involve two quasi-reversible redox processes. Cu(II)Cu(II)<=>Cu(II)Cu(I)<=>Cu(I)Cu(I). Their biological properties have also been studied. The macrocyclic complexes show more anti-bacterial than controlled one. The anti-bacterial activities of the compounds were tested against Streptococcus fecalis and Escherichia coli with different concentrations.  相似文献
