As a lignocellulose-based substrate for anaerobic digestion, rice straw is characterized by low density, high water absorbability, and poor fluidity. Its mixing performances in digestion are completely different from traditional substrates such as animal manures. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation was employed to investigate mixing performances and determine suitable stirring parameters for efficient biogas production from rice straw. The results from CFD simulation were applied in the anaerobic digestion tests to further investigate their reliability. The results indicated that the mixing performances could be improved by triple impellers with pitched blade, and complete mixing was easily achieved at the stirring rate of 80 rpm, as compared to 20–60 rpm. However, mixing could not be significantly improved when the stirring rate was further increased from 80 to 160 rpm. The simulation results agreed well with the experimental results. The determined mixing parameters could achieve the highest biogas yield of 370 mL (g TS)?1 (729 mL (g TSdigested)?1) and 431 mL (g TS)?1 (632 mL (g TSdigested)?1) with the shortest technical digestion time (T 80) of 46 days. The results obtained in this work could provide useful guides for the design and operation of biogas plants using rice straw as substrates.  相似文献

The anaerobic treatment of raw vinasse in a combined system consisting in two methanogenic reactors, up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) + anaerobic packed bed reactors (APBR), was evaluated. The organic loading rate (OLR) was varied, and the best condition for the combined system was 12.5 kg COD m?3day?1 with averages of 0.289 m3 CH4 kg COD r?1for the UASB reactor and 4.4 kg COD m?3day?1 with 0.207 m3 CH4 kg COD r?1 for APBR. The OLR played a major role in the emission of H2S conducting to relatively stable quality of biogas emitted from the APBR, with H2S concentrations <10 mg L?1. The importance of the sulphate to COD ratio was demonstrated as a result of the low biogas quality recorded at the lowest ratio. It was possible to develop a proper anaerobic digestion of raw vinasse through the combined system with COD removal efficiency of 86.7% and higher CH4 and a lower H2S content in biogas.  相似文献

Seaweeds (macroalgae) have been recently attracting more and more interest as a third generation feedstock for bioenergy and biofuels. However, several barriers impede the deployment of competitive seaweed-based energy. The high cost associated to seaweed farming and harvesting, as well as their seasonal availability and biochemical composition currently make macroalgae exploitation too expensive for energy production only. Recent studies have indicated a possible solution to aforementioned challenges may lay in seaweed integrated biorefinery, in which a bioenergy and/or biofuel production step ends an extractions cascade of high-value bioproducts. This results in the double benefit of producing renewable energy while adopting a zero waste approach, as fostered by recent EU societal challenges within the context of the Circular Economy development. This study investigates the biogas potential of residues from six indigenous Irish seaweed species while discussing related issues experienced during fermentation. It was found that Laminaria and Fucus spp. are the most promising seaweed species for biogas production following biorefinery extractions producing 187–195 mL CH4 gVS?1 and about 100 mL CH4 gVS?1 , respectively, exhibiting overall actual yields close to raw un-extracted seaweed.  相似文献

An anaerobic sequencing batch reactor containing immobilized biomass (AnSBBR) was used to produce biomethane by treating the effluent from another AnSBBR used to produce biohydrogen from glucose- (AR-EPHG) and sucrose-based (AR-EPHS) wastewater. In addition, biomethane was also produced from sucrose-based synthetic wastewater (AR-S) in a single AnSBBR to compare the performance of biomethane production in two steps (acidogenic and methanogenic) in relation to a one-step operation. The system was operated at 30 °C and at a fixed stirring rate of 300 rpm. For AR-EPHS treatment, concentrations were 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, and 4,000 mg chemical oxygen demand?(COD)?L?1 and cycle lengths were 6 and 8 h. The applied volumetric organic loads were 2.15, 4.74, 5.44, and 8.22 g COD L?1 day?1. For AR-EPHG treatment, concentration of 4,000 mg COD L?1 and 4-h cycle length (7.21 g COD L?1 day?1) were used. For AR-S treatment, concentration was 4,000 mg COD L?1 day?1 and cycle lengths were 8 (7.04 g COD L?1 day?1) and 12 h (4.76 g COD L?1 day?1). The condition of 8.22 g COD L?1 day?1 (AR-EPHS) showed the best performance with respect to the following parameters: applied volumetric organic load of 7.56 g COD L?1 day?1, yield between produced methane and removed organic material of 0.016 mol CH4?g COD?1, CH4 content in the produced biogas of 85 %, and molar methane productivity of 127.9 mol CH4?m?3 day?1. In addition, a kinetic study of the process confirmed the trend that, depending on the biodegradability characteristics of the wastewaters used, the two-step treatment (acidogenic for biohydrogen production and methanogenic for biomethane production) has potential advantages over the single-step process.  相似文献

In this work, an improved hydride-generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG-AFS) method for the determination of total arsenic (As) in wastewater and sewage sludge samples was applied. The samples were digested completely with mixtures of HNO3 and HClO4. Analytical conditions were studied and optimized through uniform experimental design U*10(108) combined with a single factor test. A mathematical model was established, and a quadratic polynomial stepwise regression analysis by using the DPS software was employed to obtain the factors that impact the fluorescence intensity. This technique is then combined with a single factor test. The optimized experimental conditions were obtained as follows: PMT voltage was 305 V, lamp current was 70 mA, KBH4 concentration was 2.0% (m/v), carrier liquid (HCl) concentration was 5% (v/v), carrier gas (Ar) flow rate was 300 mL min?1, and reaction acidity was 10% (v/v) HCl. The pre-reduction of all forms of As to As(III) was performed by using a mixed solution of 1% thiourea and 1% ascorbic acid. The content of total As was determined under the optimized experimental conditions. The detection limits for total As in wastewater and sewage sludge were 0.09 µg L?1 and 0.01 mg kg?1, respectively. The linear ranges were 0.24–100 µg L?1, and the recovery was 91.0–102.0%. The relative standard deviation (RSD, n = 5) for eleven replicate measurements of the certified reference materials containing 60.6 ± 4.2 µg L?1 As (certified sample of water) and 10.7 ± 0.8 mg kg?1 As (certified sample of soil) were 3.1% and 1.6%, respectively. The proposed method was validated by the analysis of certified reference materials and was successfully applied to the determination of total As in real samples of wastewater and sewage sludge with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The paper deals with the exploitation of Ipomoea carnea as a feedstock for the production of bioethanol. Dilute acid pretreatment under optimum conditions (3 %H2SO4, 120 °C for 45 min) produced 17.68 g L?1 sugars along with 1.02 g L?1 phenolics and 1.13 g L?1 furans. A combination of overliming and activated charcoal adsorption facilitated the removal of 91.9 % furans and 94.7 % phenolics from acid hydrolysate. The pretreated biomass was further treated with a mixture of sodium sulphite and sodium chlorite and, a maximum lignin removal of 81.6 % was achieved. The enzymatic saccharification of delignified biomass resulted in 79.4 % saccharification with a corresponding sugar yield of 753.21 mg g?1. Equal volume of enzymatic hydrolysate and acid hydrolysate were mixed and used for fermentation with a hybrid yeast strain RPRT90. Fermentation of mixed detoxified hydrolysate at 30 °C for 28 h produced ethanol with a yield of 0.461 g g?1. A comparable ethanol yield (0.414 g g?1) was achieved using a mixture of enzymatic hydrolysate and undetoxified acid hydrolysate. Thus, I. carnea biomass has been demonstrated to be a potential feedstock for bioethanol production, and the use of hybrid yeast may pave the way to produce bioethanol from this biomass.  相似文献

A simple, reliable, and effective analytical method was developed for the simultaneous determination of five organotin compounds (OTCs) including monobutyltin trichloride dibutyltin dichloride tributyltin chloride tetrabutyltin and triphenyltin chloride in white wines. The OTCs were derivatized with sodium tetraethylborate (NaBEt4), and their derivatives were extracted by liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) into n-hexane. The experimental variables, such as type and volume of extraction solvents, amount of derivatization reagent NaBEt4 and extraction time were optimized. The determination of ethylated derivatives of OTCs in the final extracts was carried out by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Under optimized conditions, good linearity was observed when analytical concentrations were in the range of 0.01–4.0 µg · mL?1, the linearity correlation coefficients were between 0.9982 and 0.9987, with the LODs in the range of 0.2–3.0 µg · L?1, and the LOQs varied from 0.6 to 10.0 µg · L?1. The obtained recoveries were in the range of 78.0–120.0%, with the relative standard deviations equal to or lower than 8.1%. This method was applied to the determination of OTCs in white wines with satisfactory results.  相似文献

This paper describes a simple and sensitive method for the determination of manganese in human urine by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy (GFAAS), which includes sample preparation by microwave digestion. Matrix modifier combinations, the digestion power, pyrolysis, and atomization temperatures were optimized. A mixture of 5.0 µg Pd(NO3)2 and 3.2 µg Mg(NO3)2 modifier presented the best performance. The optimal temperatures for pyrolysis and atomization were 1500°C and 1950°C, respectively. The GFAAS method was compared to inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP–MS) for the determination of manganese in urine. Analytical figures of merit for GFAAS and ICP–MS were: accuracy (3.46%, 2.19%), precision (3.61%, 5.84%), LOD (0.109 µg · L?1, 0.015 µg · L?1), LOQ (0.327 µg · L?1, 0.045 µg · L?1), and recovery (80–100%, 74–89%). Both methods were employed for the determination of Mn in urine and the results were compared statistically.  相似文献

Abstract

A novel chemiluminescence method for the quantitative assay of the organophosphorus pesticide chlorpyrifos in vegetable samples is presented. The determination is based on the reaction of chlorpyrifos with luminol-H2O2 in alkaline medium with sodium chloride being enhancer. Under the optimum conditions, the increased CL intensity was proportional with the concentration of chlorpyrifos in the range of 1.0 × 10?8 g · ml?1 ? 1.0 × 10?6 g · ml?1 and the detection limit was 3.5 × 10?9 g · ml?1 (3σ). The relative standard is less than 3.9% for 5.0 × 10?7g · ml?1 chlorpyrifos (n = 7). This method has been successfully applied to the determination of chlorpyrifos residue in vegetable sample. Further study was focused on the mechanism of chlorpyrifos and the possible mechanism was proposed.  相似文献

Abstract

The voltammetric behavior of rosiglitazone was studied using direct current (DCt), differential pulse (DPP), and alternating current (ACt) polarography. The drug manifests cathodic waves over a pH range of 2–11.2. In Britton‐Robinson buffer (BRb; pH 4), the diffusion current–concentration relationship was found to be rectilinear over a range of 4–24 µg · mL?1 and 0.1–16 µg · mL?1 using DCt and DPP modes, respectively, with minimum limits of detection (LOD) of 0.15 µg · mL?1 and 0.07 µg · mL?1 using the DCt and DDP modes, respectively. The diffusion‐current constant (I d) was 6.63±0.03 (n=5). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of the studied compound both in pure form and in formulations. The mean percentage recoveries in tablets were 100.09±1.18 and 100.85±0.88 (n=5) using DCt and DPP modes, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed method, adopting the DPP mode, was applied to the determination of rosiglitazone in spiked human plasma and the obtained mean percentage recoveries were 99.14±3.29 (n=4).  相似文献

The focus of this study is to understand the multiconfigurational nature of the biradical species involved in the early reaction paths of the oxygen plus ethylene PES. In previous work (J Phys Chem A 113, 12663, 2009), the lowest-lying O(3P) + C2H4 PES was extensively explored at the MCSCF, MRMP2, and MR-AQCC levels of theory. In the current work, ground and excited, triplet- and singlet-state reaction paths for the initial addition of oxygen to ethylene were found at the MCSCF and MRMP2 levels along with five singlet pathways near the ·CH2CH2O· biradical at the MCSCF, MRMP2, and CR-CC(2,3) levels. One of these five paths can lead to the CH2CO + H2 products from CH3CHO rather than from the ·CH2CH2O· biradical, and this pathway was investigated with a variety of CAS sizes. To provide further comparison between the MRMP2 and CR-CC(2,3) levels, MR-AQCC single-point energies and optimizations were performed for select geometries. After the initial exploration of this region of the surface, the lowest singlet–triplet surface crossings were explicitly determined at the MCSCF level. Additional MRMP2 calculations were performed to demonstrate the limitations of single-state perturbation theory in this biradical region of the PES, and SO-MCQDPT2 single-point energies using SA MCSCF were calculated on a grid of geometries around the primary surface crossing. In particular, these calculations were examined to determine a proper active space and a physically reasonable number of electronic states. The results of this examination show that at least four states must be considered to represent this very complex region of the PES.  相似文献

Abstract

The chemical composition of Tussilago farfara L. essential oil from the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region of Quebec, Canada was analyzed by gas chromatography–flame ionisation detector (GC-FID) and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and the antibacterial activity of the oil was tested against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Forty-five (45) compounds were identified from the GC profile. The main components were 1-nonene (40.1%), α-phellandrene (26.0%) and ρ-cymene (6.6%). The essential oil demonstrated antibacterial activity against E. coli (MIC50 = 468 µg·mL?1; MIC90 = 6869 µg·mL?1) and S. aureus (MIC50 = 368 µg·mL?1; MIC90 = 773 µg·mL?1). Dodecanoic acid was found to be active against both bacteria having a MIC50 and MIC90 of 16.4 µg·mL?1 and 95 µg·mL?1, respectively for E. coli and a MIC50 and MIC90 of 9.8 µg·mL?1 and 27.3 µg·mL?1, respectively for S. aureus. In addition, 1-decene and (E)-cyclodecene were also found to be active against E. coli.  相似文献

Pyrolysis of pine needles was carried out in a semi-batch reactor. The effects of pyrolysis parameters such as temperature (350–650 °C), heating rate (10 and 50 °C min?1), nitrogen flow rate (50–200 cm3 min?1) and biomass particle size (0.25–1.7 mm) were examined on products yield. Maximum bio-oil yield of 43.76% was obtained at pyrolysis temperature of 550 °C with a heating rate of 50 °C min?1, nitrogen flow rate of 100 cm3 min?1 for biomass particle size of 0.6 < d p < 1 mm. The characterization of pyrolysis products (bio-oil, bio-char) has been made through different instrumental methods like Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR), X-ray powder diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscope and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area analysis. The empirical formula of the bio-oil and bio-char was found as CH1.47O0.36N0.005 and CH0.56O0.28N0.013 with heating value of 26.25 and 25.50 MJ kg?1, respectively. Results show that bio-oil can be potentially valuable as a renewable fuel after upgrading and can be used as a feedstock for valuable chemicals production. The properties of bio-char reveal that it can be used as solid fuels, as a cheap adsorbent and as a feedstock for activated carbon production.  相似文献

Korean food waste was treated with a single-stage anaerobic codigester (SSAD) using waste activated sludge (WAS) generated from a municipal wastewater treatment plant. The stability and performance of the system was analyzed. The C/N ratio was improved with increasing food waste fraction of feed mixture. The pH, alkalinity, and free ammonia nitrogen concentration were the parameters used to evaluate the digester’s stability. The experimentally determined values of the parameters indicated that there were no methane inhibitions in the digester. Digester performance was determined by measuring the total chemical oxygen demand TCOD), volate solids (VS) removal, methane content in biogas, methane production rate (MPR), and specific methane productivity. Methane content in biogas and MPR were significantly dependent on hydraulic retention time (HRT) and ratio of food waste to WAS. The methane content in biogas decreased at shorter HRT or higher organic loading rate (OLR) with increased food waste fraction. Concerning the performance of the codigester, the optimum operating condition of the SSAD was found to be at an HRT of 10 d with a feed mixture ratio of 50% food waste and 50% WAS. A TCOD removal efficiency of 53.6% and a VS removal efficiency of 53.7% were obtained at an OLR of 5.96 kg of TCOD/(m3·d) and 3.14 kg of VS/(m3·d), respectively. A maximum MPR of 1.15 m3 CH4/(m3·d) and an SMP of 0.37 m3 CH4/kg of VSfeed were obtained at an HRT of 10 d with a methane content of 63%.  相似文献

In this investigation, the Anaerobic Pump (®TAP) and a conventional continuous flow stirred tank reactor (CFSTR) were tested side by side to compare performance. TAP integrates anaerobic digestion (AD) with biogas plasticization–disruption cycle to improve mass conversion to methane. Both prototypes were fed a “real world” 50:50 mixture of waste-activated sludge (WAS) and primary sludge and operated at room temperature (20°C). The quantitative results from three steady states show TAP peaked at 97% conversion of the particulate COD in a system hydraulic residence time (HRT) of only 6 days. It achieved a methane production of 0.32 STP cubic meter CH4 per kilogram COD fed and specific methane yield of 0.78 m3 CH4 per cubic meter per day. This was more than three times the CFSTR specific methane yield (0.22 m3 CH4 per cubic meter per day) and more than double the CFSTR methane production (0.15 m3 CH4 per kilogram COD fed). A comparative kinetics analysis showed the TAP peak substrate COD removal rate (R o) was 2.24 kg COD per cubic meter per day, more than three times the CFSTR substrate removal rate of 0.67 kg COD per cubic meter per day. The three important factors contributing to the superior TAP performance were (1) effective solids capture (96%) with (2) mass recycle and (3) stage II plasticization–disruption during active AD. The Anaerobic Pump (®TAP) is a high rate, high efficiency–low temperature microbial energy engine that could be used to improve renewable energy yields from classic AD waste substrates like refuse-derived fuels, treatment plant sludges, food wastes, livestock residues, green wastes and crop residuals.  相似文献

K[Pt(NH3)Cl3], a valuable precursor for the preparation of platinum complexes with cytostatic activity, e.g. satraplatin, picoplatin, LA-12 and cycloplatam, is currently prepared from cis-[Pt(NH3)2Cl2] or K2[PtCl4] and these are the usual impurities in the final product. A simple, selective and sensitive HPLC-UV analytical method for the determination of the purity of K[Pt(NH3)Cl3] and the quantification of the impurities has been developed and validated. The platinum complexes present in the final product were separated on a strong base ion exchange column by the gradient elution with detection at 213 nm. Intra-assay precisions for the platinum complexes respective to their ions ([PtCl4]2?, [Pt(NH3)Cl3]? and cis-[Pt(NH3)2Cl2]) were between 0.1 and 2.0% (relative standard deviation); intermediate precisions were between 1.4 and 2.0% and accuracies were between 98.6 and 101.4%. Limits of detection of [PtCl4]2?, [Pt(NH3)Cl3]? and cis-[Pt(NH3)2Cl2] were 6 µg · ml?1, 13 mg · ml?1 and 5 µg · ml?1 respectively, limits of quantification of [PtCl4]2?, [Pt(NH3)Cl3]? and cis-[Pt(NH3)2Cl2] were 51 µg · ml?1, 55 mg · ml?1 and 20 µg · ml?1 respectively.  相似文献

Ion-exchange with different cations (Na+, NH4 +, Li+, Ba2+ and Fe3+) was performed in binderless 13X zeolite pellets. Original and cation-exchanged samples were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis coupled with mass spectrometry (inert atmosphere), X-ray powder diffraction and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms at 77 K. Despite the presence of other cations than Na (as revealed in TG-MS), crystalline structure and textural properties were not significantly altered upon ion-exchange. Single component equilibrium adsorption isotherms of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) were measured for all samples up to 10 bar at 298 and 348 K using a magnetic suspension balance. All of these isotherms are type Ia and maximum adsorption capacities decrease in the order Li > Na > NH4–Ba > Fe for CO2 and NH4–Na > Li > Ba for CH4. In addition to that, equilibrium adsorption data were measured for CO2/CH4 mixtures for representative compositions of biogas (50 % each gas, in vol.) and natural gas (30 %/70 %, in vol.) in order to assess CO2 selectivity in such scenarios. The application of the Extended Sips Model for samples BaX and NaX led to an overall better agreement with experimental data of binary gas adsorption as compared to the Extended Langmuir Model. Fresh sample LiX show promise to be a better adsorption than NaX for pressure swing separation (CO2/CH4), due to its higher working capacity, selectivity and lower adsorption enthalpy. Nevertheless, cation stability for both this samples and NH4X should be further investigated.  相似文献

Honey is a sweet product made by bees using nectar from flowers. Concentrations of Ca, K, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, Pb and Cd were determined in 13 honey samples from the selected regions around the world. Levels of Ca, Mg, Cu, Fe, Zn and Mn were measured using flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Potassium concentration was determined via flame photometry. Concentrations of Cd and Pb were determined using the electrothermal technique (ETAAS). It was estimated that the examined samples of honey from Greece, Turkey, Spain, Poland, Mexico, Argentina and Italy were of good quality in terms of metal concentrations (compliant with the norms referring to food products – WHO, Fifty-third Report of the joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives; Technical Report Series 776, Geneva), although the analysed samples were not free of heavy metals. The concentrations of the elements in the honey samples ranged from 2.38 to 9.31 μg · g?1 for Zn, from 3.86 to 35.10 μg · g?1 for Fe, from 0.19 to 21.64 μg · g?1 for Mn, from 49.53 to 1006.90 μg · g?1 for Ca, from 388.25 to 4761.50 μg · g?1 for K and from 0.20 to 1.53 μg · g?1 for Cu and regarding heavy metals from 0.11 to 2.78 μg · g?1 for Pb and from 0.02 to 0.44 μg · g?1 for Cd. According to these results it was found that the concentrations of heavy metals in the honey samples (except for alfalfa honey and eucalyptus honey from Italy) were under the acceptable limits for foods set out by the FAO/WHO. It was confirmed that the application of chemometric tools supports the extraction of significant information from analytical data, even though the availability of samples is not fully sufficient (this problem is often encountered in environmental analyses).  相似文献

Abstract

Based on the fact that nonionic surfactant polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400) catalyzed the chemiluminescence of luminol-H2O2 system, a novel and simple chemiluminescence method has been developed for the determination of PEG-400. Under the optimal conditions, the standard curve was Y = 198835X–2091.8, where the correlation coefficient (R) was 0.9999. The detection limit was 4 × 10?5 g·ml?1 PEG-400 and the linear range was 1.0 × 10?4–4.0 × 10?2g·ml?1. The relative standard deviation was 3.2% at 2.0 × 10?3 g·ml?1 PEG-400 (n = 7). This method has been applied to the determination of PEG-400 in cosmetic samples with satisfactory results. Furthermore, the dynamics characteristic curve of PEG-400 in luminol-H2O2 system was compared to typical metallic ion and other surfactants. Moreover, the mechanism of the luminol-H2O2-PEG-400 chemiluminescence system was studied, assisted by fluorescence spectra and UV spectra.  相似文献
