Variable stepsize stability results are found for three representative multivalue methods. For the second order BDF method, a best possible result is found for a maximum stepsize ratio that will still guarantee A(0)-stability behaviour. It is found that under this same restriction, A()-stability holds for 70°. For a new two stage two value first order method, which is L-stable for constant stepsize, A(0)-stability is maintained for stepsize ratios as high as aproximately 2.94. For the third order BDF method, a best possible result of (1/2)(1+

We consider the semicontinuity of the solution set and the approximate solution set of parametric multivalued quasivariational
inequalities in topological vector spaces. Three kinds of problems arising from the multivalued situation are investigated.
A rather complete picture, which is symmetric for the two kinds of semicontinuity (lower and upper semicontinuity) and for
the three kinds of multivalued quasivariational inequality problems, is supplied. Moreover, we use a simple technique to prove
the results. The results obtained improve several known ones in the literature.

A Toeplitz decomposition of a locally convex space E into subspaces (Ek) with projections (Pk) is a decomposition of every x E as x = ∑kPkx, where ordinary summability has been replaced by summability with respect to an infinite and lower triangular regular matrix. We extend to the setting of Toeplitz decompositions a couple of results about barrelledness of Schauder decompositions. The first result, given for Schauder decompositions by Noll and Stadler, links the barrelledness of a normed space E to the barrelledness of the pieces Ek via the fact that E′ is big enough so as to coincide with its summability dual. Our second theorem, given for Schauder decompositions by Dı́az and Miñarro, links the quasibarrelledness of an 0-quasibarrelled (in particular, (DF)) space E to the quasibarrelledness of the pieces Ek via the fact that the decomposition is simple. 相似文献

In this paper the generalized nonlinear Euler differential equation t2k(tu′)u″ + t(f(u)+ k(tu′))u′ + g(u) = 0 is considered. Here the functions f(u), g(u) and k(u) satisfy smoothness conditions which guarantee the uniqueness of solutions of initial value problems, however, no conditions of sub(super) linearity are assumed. In this paper, we introduce and consider a new system of general mixed variational inequalities involving three different
operators. Using the resolvent operator technique, we establish the equivalence between the general mixed variational inequalities
and the fixed point problems. We use this equivalent formulation to suggest and analyze some new explicit iterative methods
for this system of general mixed variational inequalities. We also study the convergence analysis of the new iterative method
under certain mild conditions. Since this new system includes the system of mixed variational inequalities involving two operators,
variational inequalities and related optimization problems as special cases, results obtained in this paper continue to hold
for these problems. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of the previously known results for variational

An axiomatic characterization of ‘a Banzhaf score’ notion is provided for a class of games called (j,k) simple games with a numeric measure associated to the output set, i.e., games with n players, j ordered qualitative alternatives in the input level and k possible ordered quantitative alternatives in the output. Three Banzhaf measures are also introduced which can be used to
determine a player's ‘a priori’ value in such a game. We illustrate by means of several real world examples how to compute
