We take another look at Just-So solar neutrino oscillations, characterizing them by the energy E/2 at which the distance-varying angle is /2, instead of by the usual m 2 . The rising spectrum recently observed by SuperKamiokande is consistent with an E/2 6–9 MeV and marginally with 48 MeV. The pp neutrinos must then be reduced to one-half the standard solar model prediction, and 7Be neutrinos must make up a significant part of the SAGE and GALLEX gallium signal. For E/2 close to 9 and 48 MeV, the 7Be neutrinos will also show a large seasonal variation, emphasizing the importance of direct measurements of the 7Be neutrinos.  相似文献

Third order harmonic mixing voltageE 0 in case of frequency matching, =21=0, and third order pseudo harmonic mixing currentj() in the detuned case, 0, are evaluated for the one-dimensional Fukuyama-Lee-Rice model for weakly pinned charge density waves in the region of sub-threshold bias electric fields. After a perturbation expansion of the phase response to the ac driving fields the impurity averaging is performed diagrammatically. Specific statistical properties of the charge density wave phase in the weak pinning limit and a non-trivial result for the pinning of the static phase are utilized to expressE 0 andj() in terms of the dielectric function (). A recent evaluation of () within the self-consistent Born approximation is used to present the results explicitly in a number of diagrams. In comparison to the overdamped anharmonic oscillator the following differences are found: Randomness leads to interference contributions which increase the amplitudes and decrease the phase shifts. The more realistic form for () at lower frequencies lead to a downward shift in the maximum ofj() when 1 is decreased below the cross-over frequency c . The present theory retains inertia in the dynamical equations and remains valid for frequencies near and above the pinning frequency. It fails, however, for small frequencies 1 c due to the neglect of metastable states and screening.  相似文献

Hardening in modulated structure is evaluated using the periodic approximation. The critical shear stress increment due to the periodic structure is calculated in the constant line energy approximation. The results are applicable to any periodic structure (concentration waves must be neither homophase nor symmetric) exerting on the dislocation local glide forces with an amplitude smaller than ( denotes the line energy of corresponding straight dislocation directed along the concentration variations with the wave vector). In the zero approximation, the critical forceb is then simply the glide force on the straight dislocation averaged along its length in its most hardened position.  相似文献

A delay-differential equationu(t)+u(t)=f(u(t–1)), 0t < , and its generalization are investigated in the limit 0, when the attractor's dimension increases infinitely. It is shown that a number of statistical characteristics are asymptotically independent of. As for the attractor, it can be regarded as a direct product ofO(1/) equivalent subattractors, their statistical characteristics being asymptotically independent of . The results enable one to predict some characteristics of the attractor with fractal dimensionD 1 for the case 1, when they are inaccessible numerically. We consider a random Schrödinger operator onL 2(v) of the form , {C i} being a covering of v with unit cubes around the sites of v and {q i} i.i.d. random variables with values in [0, 1]. Our estimate ofE*(, |f|) is such that the set {x v |V (x) E*(, |f|)} may contain with probability one an infinite cluster of cubes {C i} which are nearest neighbours. Finite-size behavior near the first-order phase boundary of ferromagnetic spherical models is investigated for block- and cylinder-shaped systems ind dimensions. The bulk thermodynamic singularities are rounded and, asymptotically for large size, obey appropriate scaling laws. Both short-range interactions and long-range couplings, decaying like 1/rd+ with >0, are analyzed: the short-range results agree precisely with a recently developed scaling theory forO(n) symmetric systems in the limitn. More generally, the scaling functions are universal, depending only on . Explicit aspects of the shape and interactions enter only in the spin wave or Goldstone mode contributions which appear, technically, as corrections to scaling. An appendix analyzes the truncation error in the approximation, by many-fold sums, of multivariate integrals with integrands diverging like [jaj j 2 ]- as 0.  相似文献

A Fabry-Perot-type interference filter for x-rays is proposed, where thin crystal plates are used as Bragg reflectors at normal incidence. The plates are cut from a perfect silicon crystal leaving a thin gap which may be filled with an appropriate immersion liquid. The calculated resolution of the transmitted beam isE/E5 × 107, corresponding toE4 ×10–4 eV. A possible layout of a high-resolution x-ray spectrometer based on Fabry-Perot-type interferometers is discussed.  相似文献

The beam asymmetryB has been measured for the reactiond pn in the energy rangeE = 0·4 ÷ 0·8 GeV and angles p cm = 45 ÷ 95° and ford 0d at energiesE =0·5, 0·6, 0·7 GeV and angle cm = 130°. We obtain non-tangential boundary estimates for the Dirichlet eigenfunctions n and their gradients {n } for a class of planar domains with fractal boundaries. This class includes the quasidiscs and, in particular, snowflake-type domains. When applied to the case when is the Koch snowflake domain, one of our main results states that {1()} tends to or 0 as approaches certain types of boundary points (where 1 > 0 denotes the ground state eigenfunction of the Dirichlet Laplacian on ). More precisely, let Ob (resp., Ac) denote the set of boundary points which are vertices of obtuse (resp., acute) angles in an inner polygonal approximation of the snowflake curve . Then given Ob (resp., Ac), we show that {1()} (resp., 0) as tends to in within a cone based at . Moreover, we show that blowup of {1} also occurs at all boundary points in a Cantor-type set. Intense picosecond light pulses of a mode-locked Nd: glass laser at L =1054 nm (fundamental wavelength) and SH =527 nm (second harmonic wavelength) are passed through a sample of D2O under self-focusing conditions. Spectrally structured superbroadened, spatially bell-shaped emission in the forward direction is obtained. Primary generation processes are pump-pulse-degenerate stimulated parametric four-photon interaction (1 + 1 3 + 4) and stimulated Raman scattering (1 R + ), which occur concurrently (1= L or SH angular pump frequency, #x03C9; R first Stokes frequency, #x03C9; signal frequency, #x03C9;3 signal frequency, #x03C9;4 idler frequency). The parametric four-photon interaction occurs under collinear non-phase-matched conditions and under longitudinally phase-matched, transversally non-phase-matched (erenkov-like) conditions. Subsequent interaction processes are pump-pulse-nondegenerate four-photon interaction of the type 1 + R 3 + 4, coherent antiStokes Raman scattering (CARS, 1 + 14 3), inverse Raman scattering ( A + 1 + ), and cascading light up-conversion of the type 1 + (i) R (i+1).  相似文献

We derive the exact matrix field theory for a replicated grassmannian representation of a local pairing superconducting disorder ensemble including three superconducting order parameters and the spin-flip pairbreaking mechanism. Disorder is assumed to be gaussian distributed. We find by exactly solving the saddle-point equation the criterion for a vanishing gap –1 + –1 , where denotes the averaged superconducting order parameter, –1 the spin-flip scattering rate, and –1 the scattering rate corresponding to correlations of Re(–). Taken at =0, our field theory, which is exact in all orders of –1 , contains new terms in addition to those of theO( –1 ) model derived by Efetov et al. Our formulation transfers correctly to all orders the invariances of the action into symmetries of the matrix field theory. The saddle point approximation is outlined and it is shown how singular corrections to the saddle point density of states arise atE F in a gapless superconductor. Finally singular corrections in the two particle propagator, the density correlation function and the conductivity are calculated for =0 in one loop order. It turns out that these corrections can be entirely expressed by those of the single particle density of states.  相似文献

Then assuming that the exponential decay of the fractional moment of the Green function holds for complex energies nearE and that the density of statesn(E) exists atE, we shall prove that the random sequence { j (,E)} j , considered as a point process onR 1, converges weakly to the stationary Poisson point process with intensity measuren(E)dx as gets large, thus extending the result of Molchanov proved for a one-dimensional continuum random Schrödinger operator. On the other hand, the exponential decay of the fractional moment of the Green function was established recently by Aizenman, Molchanov and Graf as a technical lemma for proving Anderson localization at large disorder or at extreme energy. Thus our result in this paper can be summarized as follows: near the energyE where Anderson localization is expected, there is no correlation between eigenvalues ofH if is large.  相似文献

The paper gives the results of measuring the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity(T), the Hall coefficientR H (T) and the magnetic susceptibility(T) forn-type CdSnAs2. The effective mass of the electrons was determined by analysis of the measured dependences on the basis of the simple theory for an isotropic non-degenerate semi-conductor. It was found to bem n /m 0=2×10–2 in the intrinsic region and does not depend on the temperature; the energy gap ise g 0=0·26 eV and the molar susceptibility of the CdSnAs2 lattice G mol=–112× ×10–6. The mobility of the electrons in the intrinsic region reaches a value of n =25 000 cm2V–1sec–1 at 500°K and decreases exponentially n T –1.67 with rising temperature. The density of CdSnAs2 was determined pyknometrically,g9=5·35 g cm–3. The measurements were made on ann-type polycrystalline sample consisting of crystals a few millimetres in diameter, which at a temperature of 100°K had a free electron concentration ofn s =6×1016 cm–3.

The energy and orientation of a 90° Bloch wall are calculated as functions of the stress. The relative occurrence of stress in a quenched single crystal of silicon-iron is derived on the basis of the experimental distribution of the zigzag angle.

Zusammenfassung Der Einflu\ von Mikrosegregations-Substrukturen auf das plastische Verhalten von Zinkeinkristallen entspricht den allgemeinen Erwartungen in der Weise, da\ die kritische Schubspannung mit wachsender Substrukturendichte zunimmt. Der Verfestigungskoeffizient A nimmt hingegen mit wachsender Substrukturendichte ab. Dabei wird der Verfestigungskoeffizient vom Charakter der Substruktur viel empfindlicher beeinflu\t als die kritische Schubspannung. Es wird angenommen, da\ dieser Einflu\ durch unterschiedlichen Fremdstoffgehalt zustande kommt.

Diophantine quantization is applied to neutral Higgs and gauge bosons in minimal SUSY, with the additional requirement that , like w , be a rational angle. One finds for the Higgs mixing angles that =–/4 and that = w or /2– w . TheCP-odd HiggsA turns out to be degenerate in mass with the Z, and the two neutralCP-even Higgs bosons have masses of about 123 and 37.5 GeV, respectively. The charged Higgs has a mass of about 121.5 GeV. Further, if >/4, the infrared quasi-fixed-point solution yields at-quark mass in the neighborhood of 170 GeV, in agreement with recent data.Deceased. The brightness waves of ZnS-Cu, Mn phosphor were investigated and it was found that their shape changes from that characteristic for copper-activated phosphors to that characteristic for manganese-activated phosphors as a function of the magnitude of the voltage applied, the length of the pulses and the temperature. In order to explain the results it is assumed that simultaneously with the mechanism of electroluminescence, accepted for ZnS-Cu (ionization of activators; recombination and radiation delayed in phase compared with voltage), there exists an immediate recombination of the Cu activators in the barriers, which is accompanied by radiation in phase with the voltage.
