By using scalar as opposed to spin-12 quarks and treating spin effects perturbatively, the masses of the lowest lying 0- and 1- mesons above 1 GeV (the J/Ψ, ηc, D, D1, F, F1, and φ) are calculated to 1%. The masses of the K1, ?, and K are respectively obtained to 3%, 8% and 30%. Certain (spin-averaged) linear combinations of baryon masses are also computed. The nucleon-delta result differs from experiment by 8%. For heavier baryons the error is smaller. Scalar lattice QCD seems to be a promising approach to the strong interactions.  相似文献

Relations between hadron mass splittings are obtained from the assumption that the ratio of the electromagnetic and strong contributions to hardon spin splittings depends only upon the ratio of the electromagnetic to the strong couplings of the quark-quark or quark-antiquark pairs involved. This ratio is the same in charmed mesons and strange baryons when the values of color and electric charges of the standard colored quark model are used. Predictions for D1+?D10 and ∑1?-∑1+ mass splittings obtained are in good agreement with present experimental data and can be tested much better when better data on D and D1 masses become available.  相似文献

We study the effect of quark masses on the energy density of two ferro-magnetic vacua in QCD, corresponding to different vacuum symmetries. In the massless limit the two states have the same energy, while as the quark masses are turned on the state with more symmetry elements becomes the “true” vacuum. We estimate the gluon vacuum condensate α s F 2〉 from thee +e?→I=1 hadron cross-section known below 2 GeV using moment sum rules ratios. We obtain α s F 2〉= (3.9±1.0)10?2GeV4. We also re-evaluate the contribution of the dimension-six vacuum condensates to the above sum rule and test the factorization hypothesis of the four-quark operator. Useful rules for the evaluation of the dimension-six vacuum condensates contributions are given.  相似文献

We study the contributions to the mass differences p?n, Σ+?, Ξ0? proportional to the isospin breaking QCD parameters ωmd/mu?1 and δ≡〈d?d〉?1 within the ITEP sum rule approach. By taking into account the electromagnetic contribution as estimated with the Cottingham formula very good agreement with experiment is found for ω ≌0.8 and δ≌0.006, which are very reasonable values.  相似文献

Special emphasis is given to recent developments allowing for an exact implementation of chiral symmetry on the lattice. Several topics in hadron physics at different scales of resolution are discussed. First, deep-inelastic scattering from nucleons and nuclei is viewed in a light-come coordinate space picture. Then the smooth transition from parton to hadron degrees of freedom is demonstrated by analysing generalized Q2-dependent polarizabilities of the nucleon. Turning to low energy QCD we summarize recent developments related to the role of strange quarks in Chiral SU(3) Dynamics, a non-perturbative coupled channel approach to hadronic processes. Finally we elaborate on a unification of QCD Sum Rules with aspects of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking in the analysis of quark-antiquark excitations of the condensed QCD vacuum and in nuclear matter.  相似文献

We calculate diquark correlation functions in the Landau gauge on the lattice using overlap valence quarks and 2+1-flavor domain wall fermion configurations. Quark masses are extracted from the scalar part of quark propagators in the Landau gauge. The scalar diquark quark mass difference and axial vector scalar diquark mass difference are obtained for diquarks composed of two light quarks and of a strange and a light quark. The light sea quark mass dependence of the results is examined. Two lattice spacings are used to check the discretization effects.The coarse and fine lattices are of sizes 24~3×64 and 32~3×64 with inverse spacings 1/a = 1.75(4) Ge V and 2.33(5) Ge V,respectively.  相似文献

Determining the hadron spectrum and hadron properties beyond the ground states is a challenge in lattice QCD. Most of these results have been in the quenched approximation but now we are entering the dynamical era. Results in lattice Quantum Chromodynamics with fermions are reviewed. Estimates for the hadron spectrum on large lattices without and with light fermion polarization loops are discussed, and the results for different fermion regularizations are compared. The effects of the loops are found to be significant in lattice units, but to a greater part they can be reabsorbed in a redefinition of the overall scale. New estimates for the light quark masses with Wilson fermions are also presented. They differ substantially from previous estimates obtained by other methods in the continuum, and are much smaller. Finally it is argued that staggered fermions can lead to some anomalous results, which arise because of the doubling problem.  相似文献

We studied the condensate mass of QCD vacuum through the duality approach via dilaton wall back-ground in the presence of the parameter c,which represents the condensation in a holographic set up.First,fromWilson line calculation,we found m02(i.e.,the condensate parameter in mixed non-local condensation),whose beha-vior mimics that of QCD.The value of m02that we found by this approach is in agreement with QCD data.Second we considered the produced mass m via the Schwinger effect mechanism in the presence of the parameter c.We show that vacuum condensation generally contributes the mass dominantly and that the produced mass via Schwing.er effect is suppressed by m0.  相似文献

We present, in the framework of the interacting hadron resonance gas, an evaluation of thermodynamical quantities. The interaction is modelled via a correction for the finite size of the hadrons. We investigate the sensitivity of the model calculations on the radius of the hadrons, which is a parameter of the model. Our calculations for thermodynamical quantities as energy and entropy densities and pressure are confronted with predictions using the lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) formalism.  相似文献
