Three new Schiff base complexes, namely [Mn(L)Cl] · H2O (1), [Co(L)Cl]2 · 2CH3COCH3 (2) and [Co(L)NCS]2 (3), where H2L = 2,2′-[propane-1,2-diylbis(nitriloeth-1-yl-1-ylidene)]diphenol, have been prepared and characterized. The syntheses of 1 and 2 have been achieved by reacting equimolar amounts of the respective metal chloride and the tetradentate Schiff base ligand (H2L). While the mononuclear Mn(III) complex 1 was obtained with MnCl2 in acetone medium, the same synthetic system yielded the binuclear Co(III) complex 2 in the presence of CoCl2. Dissolution of 1 and 2 followed by crystallization with ammonium thiocyanate in methanol yielded two isostructural phenoxo-bridged binuclear complexes, namely [Mn(L)NCS]2 (previously reported by us) and a new complex [Co(L)NCS]2 (3), respectively. All the complexes 13 have been characterized by microanalytical, spectroscopic, single crystal X-ray diffraction and other physicochemical studies. Structural studies reveal that 1 adopts a distorted tetragonal pyramidal geometry while 2 and 3 comprise dimeric Co(III) units with bridging phenolate oxygen atoms. All the complex units in 1–3 and the respective solvent molecules are held together by weak intermolecular H-bonding to constitute a supramolecular network in the solid state. The antibacterial activity of the complexes has been tested against some Gram(+) and Gram(?) bacteria.  相似文献

Three new mononuclear Schiff-base complexes, namely [Mn(L)Cl] (1), [Ni(L)] (2), and [Cu(L)] (3), where L?=?anion of [N,N′-bis(2-hydroxybenzophenylidene)]propane-1,2-diamine, have been synthesized by reacting equimolar amounts of the respective metal chloride and the tetradentate Schiff base, H2L, in methanol. The complexes have been characterized by microanalytical, spectroscopic, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and other physicochemical studies. Structural studies reveal that 1 adopts a distorted square-pyramidal geometry whereas 2 and 3 are isotypic with distorted square-planar geometries. The antibacterial activities of 13 along with their Schiff base have been tested against some Gram(+) and Gram(?) bacteria.  相似文献

N,N′-bis((2-hydroxyphenyl)(phenyl)methylidene)propane-1,2-diaminato-N,N′,O,O′)-(nitrato-O)-manganese(III) methanol solvate ([Mn(C29H24N2O2)(NO3)CH3OH]) was synthesized and characterized by FTIR, UV–Vis, TG–FTIR, TG/DSC, molar conductivity, magnetic moment measurement and single crystal X-ray analysis. In the structure, the Mn(III) ion adopts a distorted octahedral geometry with two nitrogen and two oxygen atoms from the Schiff base ligand in the equatorial plane, and the nitrate ion and methanol molecule in the axial position. The effects of organic solvents of various polarities on the UV–Vis spectra of the ligand and complex were investigated. The manganese(III) complex is easily dissolved in organic polar aprotic solvents and has moderate solubility in organic polar protic solvents.  相似文献

Thermal analytical behavior of eight chromium(III) complexes with N,N′-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine (salen) Schiff bases, Cr(salen), has been investigated regarding their thermal stability and thermal decomposition pathways. Thus, the ligands and the respective chromium(III) complexes of salen-type Schiff bases derived from salicylaldehyde and its 5-chloro, 5-bromo, 5-methoxy, 5-nitro, 3,5-dicloro, 3,5-dibromo, and 3,5-diiodosalicylaldehyde were synthesized, characterized, and submitted to TG/DTG, DTA, and TG–FTIR evolved gas analysis. The number of steps and, in particular, the starting temperature of decomposition of these complexes was dependent of the ligand nature. The gaseous products evolved during the thermal decomposition of these compounds were identified by TG–FTIR.  相似文献

Three unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff base ligands, H2salipn, H2salipn-Br4 and H2salipn-Cl2, have been synthesized from the typical condensation reactions of treating 1,2-diaminopropane with salicylaldehyde, 3,5-dibromosalicylaldehyde and 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde, respectively. Treatment of [RuCl2(PPh3)3] with one equivalent of H2salipn or H2salipn-Br4 in the presence of triethylamine in tetrahydrofuran (THF) afforded the corresponding ruthenium(III) complexes [RuIIICl(PPh3)(salipn)] (1) and [RuIIICl(PPh3)(salipn-Br4)] (2). Interaction of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] with one equivalent of H2salipn-Cl2 or H2salipn-Br4 under the same conditions led to isolation of ruthenium(II) complexes [RuII(CO)(PPh3)(salalipn-Cl2)] (3) and [RuII(CO)(PPh3)(salalipn-Br4)] (4), respectively, in which one of the imine bonds was nucleophilically attacked by hydride to result in the formation of a mixed imine-amine ligand. The molecular structures of 1?1.5CH2Cl2, 2, 3?0.5CH2Cl2 and 4 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical properties of 14 were also investigated. Their cyclic voltammograms displayed quasi-reversible Ru(IV)/Ru(III) and Ru(III)/Ru(II) couples with Eo ranging from 0.67 to 1.05 V and 0.74 to 0.80 V vs. Ag/AgCl (0.1 M), respectively.  相似文献

Eight chromium(III) complexes of tetradentate Schiff bases have been prepared in situ by condensing of a substituted salicylaldehyde compound with ethylenediamine. These were characterized by elemental analysis, m.p., IR, molar conductivity, magnetic moment measurements, and electronic spectra. The free ligands were also characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectra. The 13C NMR spectra are discussed in terms of possible substituent effects. The IR and electronic spectra of the free ligand and the complexes are compared and discussed. The electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectra of four free ligands and their complexes were measured. The deconvolution of the visible spectra of the complexes, C2v symmetry, in DMSO yields three peaks at ca. 15 600–17 600, 18 400–20 400 and 20 000–23 100, and are assigned to the three d–d transitions, 4B1g → 4Eg(4T2g); 4B1g → 4B2g(4T2g); 4B1g → 4Eg(4T1g), respectively. The complexes showed magnetic moment in the range of 3.5–4.2 BM which corresponds to three unpaired electrons.  相似文献

Two pyrimidine based NNS tridentate Schiff base ligands S-methyl-3-((2-S-methyl-6-methyl-4-pyrimidyl)methyl)dithiocarbazate [HL1] and S-benzyl-3-((2-S-methyl-6-methyl-4-pyrimidyl)methyl)dithiocarbazate [HL2] have been synthesised by 1:1 condensation of 2-S-methylmercapto-6-methylpyrimidine-4-carbaldehyde and S-methyl/S-benzyl dithiocarbazate. One Co(III) and one Mn(II) complex of HL1 and one Mn(II) complex of HL2 have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities and spectroscopic studies. All the bis-chelate complexes have a distorted octahedral arrangement with an N4S2 chromophore around the central metal ion. Each ligand molecule binds the metal ion using pyrimidyl nitrogen, azomethine nitrogen and the thiolato sulfur atoms. In the free ligand moieties, the pyrimidine nitrogen atoms, azomethine nitrogen atoms and thione sulfur atoms are in EEE orientation to each other. During chelation, all the donor sites of the ligands are reoriented to ZEZ configuration in order to facilitate the chelation process. In all the complexes, the respective ligand molecule functions as the monoanionic tridentate one. All complexes were analyzed by single crystal X-ray diffraction and significant differences concerning the distortion from octahedral geometry of the coordination environment were observed.  相似文献

Two octahedral complexes [Ni(HL1)2](ClO4)2 (1) and [Ni(HL2)2](ClO4)2 (2) and a square planar complex [Ni(HL3)]ClO4 (3) have been prepared, where [HL1 = 3-(2-amino-ethylimino)-butan-2-one oxime, HL2 = 3-(2-amino-propylimino)butan-2-one oxime] and H2L3 = 3-[2-(3-hydroxy-1-methyl-but-2-enylideneamino)-1-methyl-ethylimino]-butan-2-one oxime. All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, spectral studies and room temperature magnetic moment measurements. The molecular structures of all three compounds were elucidated on the basis of X-ray crystallography; complexes 1 and 2 are seen to be the mer isomers.  相似文献

The electrochemistry and oxygenation kinetics of a series of Mn(II) complexes containing ligands derived from substituted salicylaldehyde and linear diamines have been studied. Complexes prepared from ethylenediamine produce cyclic voltammograms with a quasi-reversible Mn(II)-Mn(III) couple and oxygenation reactions which are first-order in both complex and O2, indicating formation of an Mn(III)-O2 species as the slow step in the reaction. The case of oxidation/oxygenation increases with increasing electron-donating ability of substituents on the salicyladehyde rings. Complexes with from six to 10 methylene groups in the diamine precursor produce highly irreversible voltammograms and oxygenation data which can not be interpreted in terms of a simple mechanism. Polymerization of the complexes is advanced as an explanation for these effects.  相似文献

Two hexacoordinated mononuclear Co(III) compounds of the type cis-[Co(L)(N3)2] X [1, X = ClO4; 2, X = PF6; L = N,N′-(bis(pyridine-2-yl)benzylidine)-1,4-butanediamine] have been synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The crystal structures of complexes 1 and 2 both have distorted octahedral geometry with two terminal azides in mutual cis orientations. In the crystalline state, two mononuclear units of 1 are associated by weak C–H…π interactions to produce a dimeric unit, which packs through C–H…O hydrogen bonds and π…π interactions leading to a 2-D continuum. The mononuclear units in 2 are engaged in weak cooperative intermolecular C–H…π interactions and multiple C–H…F hydrogen bonds giving rise to a 3-D network structure. These diamagnetic compounds are redox active and show luminescence in DMF solutions.  相似文献

Two new mononuclear complexes, [NiL1] · CH3OH (I) and [NiL2] (II), have been prepared from the tetradentate Schiff bases N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)ethylenediamine (H2L1) and N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)- o-phenylenediamine (H2L2), respectively. The complexes have been characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods, as well as single-crystal X-ray determination (CIF files nos. 1428969 (I), 1428968 (II)). Complex I crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with a = 6.7387(14), b = 10.7010(17), c = 12.681(2) Å, α = 87.059(2)°, β = 88.828(2)°, γ = 89.901(2)°, V = 913.0(3) Å3, Z = 2. Complex II crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with a = 12.1437(11), b = 8.0537(8), c = 18.4545(18) Å, β = 105.088(2)°, V = 1742.7(3) Å3, Z = 4. The nickel atoms in the complexes are coordinated by two phenolate O and two imine N atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base ligands, forming square planar coordination. The complexes and the Schiff base compounds were assayed for antibacterial activities against three Gram-positive bacterial strains (B. subtilis, S. aureus, and St. faecalis) and three Gram-negative bacterial strains (E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and E. cloacae) by MTT method. As a result, the complexes showed effective antimicrobial activity against the microorganisms tested.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of several hexa‐coordinated ruthenium(III) Schiff base complexes of the type [RuX(EPh3)(L)] (X = Cl or Br; E = P or As; L = dianion of the tetradentate Schiff base) are reported. IR, EPR, electronic spectra and cyclic voltammetric data of the complexes are discussed. An octahedral geometry has been tentatively proposed for all of these complexes. The new complexes have been subjected to catalytic activity in the reaction of oxidation of alcohols in the presence of N‐methylmorpholine‐N‐oxide. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Single crystals of the aluminium and gallium complexes of 6,6′‐{(1E,1′E)‐[1,2‐phenylenebis(azanylylidene)]bis(methanylylidene)}bis(2‐methoxyphenol), namely diaqua(6,6′‐{(1E,1′E)‐[1,2‐phenylenebis(azanylylidene)]bis(methanylylidene)}bis(2‐methoxyphenolato)‐κ4O1,N,N′,O1′)aluminium(III) nitrate ethanol monosolvate, [Al(C22H18N2O4)(H2O)2]NO3·C2H5OH, 1 , and diaqua(6,6′‐{(1E,1′E)‐[1,2‐phenylenebis(azanylylidene)]bis(methanylylidene)}bis(2‐methoxyphenolato)‐κ4O1,N,N′,O1′)gallium(III) nitrate ethanol monosolvate, [Ga(C22H18N2O4)(H2O)2]NO3·C2H5OH, 2 , were obtained after successful synthesis in ethanol. Both complexes crystallized in the triclinic space group P, with two molecules in the asymmetric unit. In both structures, in one of the independent molecules the tetradentate ligand is almost planar while in the other independent molecule the ligand shows significant distortions from planarity, as illustrated by the largest distance from the plane constructed through the central metal atom and the O,N,N′,O′‐coordinating atoms of the ligand in 1 of 1.155 (3) Å and a distance of 1.1707 (3) Å in 2 . The possible reason for this is that there are various strong π‐interactions in the structures. This was confirmed by density functional theory (DFT) calculations, as were the other crystallographic data. DFT was also used to predict the outcome of cyclic voltammetry experiments. Ligand oxidation is more stabilized in the gallium complex. Solid‐state photoluminescence gave an 80 nm red‐shifted spectrum for the gallium complex, whereas the aluminium complex maintains the ligand curve with a smaller red shift of 40 nm.  相似文献

Contrary to the stereotype, Jacobsen's catalyst, chiral (salcy)Co(III)OAc adopts an unusual binding mode. The tetradentate {ONNO} ligand does not form a square plane but wraps cobalt in a cis-β fashion while acetate is chelating.  相似文献

This article presents the synthesis, physico-chemical, in particular voltammetric, characteristics of two iron(III) complexes with pyridoxal aminoguanidine (PLAG), [Fe(PLAG)Cl2(H2O)]Cl (1) and [Fe(PLAG)2](NO3)3 (2). As expected, the zwitterion of the chelate ligand is coordinated tridentate through oxygen of phenol and nitrogen atoms of azomethine and imino groups of the aminoguanidine fragment. In both complexes, Fe(III) is distorted octahedral. [Fe(PLAG)2](NO3)3 (2) is the first bis(ligand) complex with this ligand. Cyclic voltammetric characteristics of the ligand and complexes were studied in DMF in the presence of TBAP or LiCl as supporting electrolytes. The complexes are unstable in this solvent, especially in the presence of an excess of chloride, thus forming several reducible species whose stabilities and behaviors were characterized.  相似文献

Mononuclear copper(II) Schiff base complexes, Cu(BrSal2Pn) (I) and Cu(BrSal2MePn) (II), where BrSal2Pn = N,N′-bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)propane-1,3-diamine and BrSal2MePn = N,N′-bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Also, the optimized geometries of them have been calculated using density functional theory method (B3LYP/6–31g). Obtained structural parameters are in agreement with the experimental data. The geometry around the copper atoms display a distorted square-planner structure by coordinating with two oxygen atoms from the phenols moieties and two nitrogen atoms from the imino groups of ligands and thus established three 6-membered rings.  相似文献

Two end-on azido-bridged Co(III) complexes, [Co3(L1)21,1-N3)4(N3)2(OH2)(OCH2CH3)]·0.5H2O (1) and [Co2(L2)21,1-N3)2(N3)2] (2), where L1 and L2 are the deprotonated form of 5-methoxy-2-[(2-morpholin-4-ylethylimino)methyl]phenol and 2-ethoxy-6-[(2-isopropylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol, respectively, were prepared and structurally characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods and single crystal X-ray determination. Complex (1) is a trinuclear Co compound, while complex (2) is a centrosymmetric dinuclear Co compound. In both complexes, the Co atoms are in octahedral coordination. The preliminary biological tests show that the complexes have excellent antibacterial activity.  相似文献

Three new copper(II) complexes [CuL1]2(ClO4)2 (1), [CuL2]ClO4 (2) and [CuL3] (3) with three Schiff base ligands [HL1 = 1-phenyl-3-{3-[(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)-amino]-propylimino}-butan-1-one, HL2 = 1-phenyl-3-[3-(1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylideneamino)-propylimino]-butan-1-one and H2L3 = 3-[3-(1-methyl-3-oxo-3-phenyl-propylideneamino)-propylimino]-1-phenyl-butan-1-one] have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. The mono-negative tetradentate asymmetric Schiff base ligands (L1) and (L2) are chelated in complexes 1 and 2 to form square planar copper(II) complexes. In complex 1, the two units are associated weakly through ketonic oxygen of benzoylacetone fragment to form the dimeric entity. The square planar geometry of complex 3 is unusually distorted towards tetrahedral one. All three complexes exhibit reversible cyclic voltammetric responses in acetonitrile solution corresponding to the CuII/CuI redox process. The E1/2 (−0.47 V versus SCE) of 3 shows significant anodic shift due to the tetrahedral distortion around Cu(II) compare to that of 1 and 2 (−0.82 and −0.87 V versus SCE, respectively).  相似文献
