The complexation reaction of dibenzopyridino-18-crown-6 (DBPY 18C6) with Co2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, Hg2+, and Ag+ have been studied in DMSO at 25°C by the spectrophotometric method. Murexide was used as a competitive colored ligand. The stoichiometry of metal ion-murexide and metal ions with DBPY18C6 complexes were estimated by mole ratio and continuous variation methods and emphasized by the KINFIT program. The stoichiometry of all the complexes was found to be 1: 1 (metal ion/ligand). The order of stability constants for the obtained metal ion-murexide complexes (1: 1) varies in the order Cu2+ > Cd2+ > Co2+ ∼ Pb2+ > Zn2+ > Ag+ > Hg2+. This trend shows that the transition metal ions clearly obey the Irving-Williams role. For the post-transition metal ions, the ionic radius and soft-hard behavior was the major affects in varying of this order. The dibenzopyridino-18-crown-6 complexes with the used metal ions vary as Ag+ > Pb2+ > Cu2+ > Cd2+ > Hg2+ > Zn2+ > Co2+. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

The competitive removal of Pb2+, Cu2+, and Cd2+ ions from aqueous solutions by the copolymer of 2‐acrylamido‐2‐methyl‐1‐propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) and itaconic acid (IA), P(AMPS‐co‐IA), was investigated. Homopolymer of AMPS (PAMPS) was also used to remove these ions from their aqueous solution. In the preparation of AMPS–IA copolymer, the molar percentages of AMPS and IA were 80 and 20, respectively. In order to observe the changes in the structures of polymers due to metal adsorption, FTIR spectra by attenuated total reflectancetechnique and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) pictures of the polymers were taken both before and after adsorption experiments. Total metal ion removal capacities of PAMPS and P(AMPS‐co‐IA) were 1.685 and 1.722 mmol Me2+/gpolymer, respectively. Experimental data were evaluated to determine the kinetic characteristics of the adsorption process. Competitive adsorption of Pb2+, Cu2+, and Cd2+ ions onto both PAMPS and P(AMPS‐co‐IA) was found to fit pseudo‐second‐order type kinetics. In addition, the removal orders in the competitive adsorption of these metal ions onto PAMPS and P(AMPS‐co‐IA) were found to be Cd2+ > Pb2+ > Cu2+ and Pb2+ > Cd2+ > Cu2+, respectively. Nanostructured magnesium silicate hollow spheres, one kind of non-conductive nanomaterials, were used in heavy metal ions (HMIs) detection with enhanced performance for the first time. The detailed study of the enhancing electrochemical response in stripping voltammetry for simultaneous detection of ultratrace Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+ and Hg2+ was described. Electrochemical properties of modified electrodes were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The operational parameters which have influence on the deposition and stripping of metal ions, such as supporting electrolytes, pH value, and deposition time were carefully studied. The anodic stripping voltammetric performance toward HMIs was evaluated using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV) analysis. The detection limits achieved (0.186 nM, 0.247 nM, 0.169 nM and 0.375 nM for Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+ and Hg2+) are much lower than the guideline values in drinking water given by the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, the interference and stability of the modified electrode were also investigated under the optimized conditions. An interesting phenomenon of mutual interference between different metal ions was observed. Most importantly, the sensitivity of Pb2+ increased in the presence of certain concentrations of other metal ions, such as Cd2+, Cu2+ and Hg2+ both individually and simultaneously. The proposed electrochemical sensing method is thus expected to open new opportunities to broaden the use of SWASV in analysis for detecting HMIs in the environment.  相似文献

Mercury microelectrodes were prepared by ex situ deposition of Hg onto Pt microdiscs. By exploiting the known properties of microelectrodes in stripping analysis, an absolute method based on a simple equation derived from the stripping charge and the microelectrode steady-state current was assessed for the simultaneous quantification of Cd2+, Pb2+ and Cu2+ concentrations. The method was tested with synthetic solutions containing known amounts of Cd2+, Pb2+ and Cu2+. Then, it was used to determine the labile and total fractions of these metal ions in rain samples. The labile fractions were measured from samples at their natural pH while the total concentrations were determined from samples at pH=2.  相似文献

A new bipyridyl derivative 1 bearing rhodamine B as visible fluorophore was designed, synthesized and characterized as a fluorescent and colorimetric sensor for metal ions. Interaction with Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Hg+, and Hg2+ ions was followed by UV/Vis and emission spectroscopy. Upon addition of these metal ions, different colorimetric and fluorescent responses were observed. “Off-on-off” (Cu2+, Zn2+, and Hg2+) and “off-on” (Hg+ and Cd2+) systems were obtained. Probe 1 was explored to mimic XOR and OR logic operations for the simultaneous detection of Hg+–Cu2+ and Hg+–Zn2+ pairs, respectively. DFT calculations were also performed to gain insight into the lowest-energy gas-phase conformation of free receptor 1 as well as the atomistic details of the coordination modes of the various metal ions.  相似文献

A fast and simple method for preconcentration of Ni^2+, Cd^2+, Pb^2+, Zn^2+, Cu^2+ and Co^2+ from natural water samples was developed. The metal ions were complexed with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (Na-DDTC), then adsorbed onto octadecyl silica membrane disk, recovered and determined by FAAS. Extraction efficiency, influence of sample volume and eluent flow rates, effects of pH, amount of Na-DDTC, nature and amount of eluent for elution of metal ions from membrane disk, break through volume and limit of detection have been evaluated. The effect of foreign ions on the percent recovery of heavy metal ions has also been studied. The limit of detection of the proposed method for Ni^2+, Cd^2+, Pb^2+, Zn^2+, Cu^2+ and Co^2+was found to be 2.03, 0.47, 3.13, 0.44, 1.24 and 2.05 ng·mL^-1, respectively. The proposed (DDTC) method has been successfully applied to the recovery and determination of heavy metal ions in different water samples.  相似文献

An automatic titration method is reported to resolve ternary mixtures of transition metals (Pb2+, Cd2+ and Cu2+) employing electronic tongue detection and a reduced number of pre‐defined additions of EDTA titrant. Sensors used were PVC membrane selective electrodes with generic response to heavy‐metals, plus an artificial neural network response model. Detection limits obtained were ca. 1 mg L?1 for the three target ions and reproducibilities 3.0 % for Pb2+, 4.1 % for Cd2+ and 5.2 % for Cu2+. The system was applied to contaminated soil samples and high accuracy was obtained for the determination of Pb2+. In the determination Cd2+ and Cu2+, sample matrix showed a significant effect.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Guanidinylated carboxymethyl chitosan (GCMCS) was prepared via the guanidinylation of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS). A device employing the diffusive gradients for thin films (DGT) technique was made using a GCMCS aqueous solution as the binding agent and a cellulose acetate dialysis membrane (CADM) as the diffusion phase to measure labile Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ in water. The percentage uptake (U%) values of labile Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ in a synthetic water sample were almost consistent with the theoretical values at 101.6 ± 2.8%, 104.6 ± 6.1% and 95.9 ± 4.4%, respectively. The optimum pH ranges for the measurement of labile Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ were 3.0–7.0, 3.0–7.0 and 4.0–8.0, respectively. The ionic strength mainly affected the diffusion of metal ions in the CADM. The diffusion rates decreased with increasing concentrations of NaNO3 solutions. The application of GCMCS-DGT in natural water and industrial wastewater showed that dissolved organic carbon (DOC) only affects metal species, and the accurate determination of labile Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ can be achieved when the diffusion coefficients of these metal ions in the diffusion phase have been determined. GCMCS is suitable for DGT application as a chelating agent for metal ions.  相似文献

Disulfide based receptor was prepared using single step condensation reaction and suspended into organic nanoparticles to extend its practical application in aqueous samples. The prepared nanoparticles were used for the simultaneous recognition of three different metallic species (Cu2+, Cd2+, and Pb2+) in aqueous media through voltammetric studies. These metals can be determined simultaneously and without interferences from any of the other potential interferent metal ions, as different signals are displayed in cyclic as well as differential pulse voltammograms, with a detection limit of 193.0 nM for Cu2+, 52.0 nM for Cd2+ and 32.0 nM for Pb2+. The study was extended to real sample analysis by preparing the artificial mixtures of said metal ions.  相似文献

A method for solid phase extraction of trace metals such as Cd2+, Cr6+, Cu2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ and Zn2+ using nanometer-sized alumina coated with chromotropic acid prior to determination by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) has been developed. Various influencing parameters on the separation and preconcentration of trace metals, pH, flow rate, sample volume, amount of adsorbent, concentration of eluent and sorption kinetics have been studied. The detection limits for Cd2+, Cr6+, Cu2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ and Zn2+ were found to be 0.14, 0.62, 0.22, 0.54, 0.27, 0.28, 0.53 and 0.38 ng ml− 1, respectively. The adsorption capacity of the solid phase adsorption material is 10.3, 11.3, 14.5, 16.4, 15.1, 11.7, 15.4 and 16.8 mg g− 1 for Cd2+, Cr6+, Cu2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ and Zn2+, respectively. The preconcentration factor was obtained in the range of 50-100 for all studied metal ions. Coexisting ions over a high concentration range have not shown any significant effects on the determination of aforesaid metal ions. The accuracy of the proposed method was tested by standard reference materials (NIST 1643e: water, NIST 1573a: tomato leaves and NIST 1568a rice flour) and natural waters and the results obtained were in good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

Enzyme inhibition assays have the potential to rapidly screen and identify heavy metals in environmental samples. Inhibition of nitrate reductase (NR) was examined as a method for detecting toxic metals. The activity of NR (EC 1.6.6.2) from Aspergillus niger was assayed as a function of metal concentration in the presence of Cd2+, Cr3+, Cr6+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, and Zn2+. NR exhibited sensitivity to these metals at concentrations below 10 μM. Various buffers were screened for their ability to protect NR activity from metal inhibition, and 3-(N-morpholino) propanesulfonic acid (MOPS) was selected as the buffering system for the NR assays as it exhibited the least interference with metal inhibition, thus providing increased assay sensitivity. The hypothesis that chelating agents could prevent the inhibition of NR activity by metal ions was also tested. Results indicated that 10 mM ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) could protect NR activity from inhibition by Cr3+, Cu2+, Cd2+, Ni2+, and Zn2+ at concentrations below 100 μM, but that the EDTA had no effect on NR inhibition by Cr6+. An amount of 10 mM nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) prevented NR inhibition by Cd2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, and Zn2+ at metal concentrations below 100 μM. However, 10 mM NTA was unable to protect the enzyme from inhibition by either Cr3+ or Cr6+. These results indicated that through specific metal chelation, a NR-based method for individually quantifying Cr3+ and Cr6+ species in aqueous solutions could be developed. The ability to restore activity to NR which been previously inhibited by exposure to 100 μM Pb2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Cu2+, and Cr3+ was explored to determine whether NR activity could be recovered by EDTA additions for use in consecutive metal inhibition assays. The results showed NR activity could not be regained after exposure to Cr3+ or Cu2+, but did partially recover activity after Cd2+, Pb2+, and Zn2+ exposure.  相似文献

Rigid N‐(substituted)‐2‐aza‐[3]‐ferrocenophanes L1 and L2 were easily synthesized from 1,1 ‐dicarboxyaldehydeferrocene and the corresponding amines. Ligands L1 and L2 were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography. The coordination abilities of L1 and L2 with metal ions such as Cu2+, Mg2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemical shift (ΔE1/2) of 125 mV was observed in the presence of Cu2+ ion, while no significant shift of the Fc/Fc + couple was observed when Mg2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Cd2+ metal ions were added to the solution of L1 in the mixture of MeOH and H2O. Moreover, the extent of the anodic shift of redox potentials was approximately equal to that induced by Cu2+ alone when a mixture of Cu2+, Mg2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ was added to a solution of L1. Ligand L1 was proved to selectively sense Cu2+ in the presence of large, excessive first‐row transition and late‐transition metal cations. The coordination model was proposed from the results of controlled experiments and quantum calculations. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the performance of monoliths composed of hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) to which N-methacryloyl-(L)-cysteine methyl ester (MAC) was polymerized for removal of heavy metal ions. Poly(HEMA-MAC) monolith was produced by bulk polymerization. Poly(HEMA-MAC) monolith was characterized by FTIR and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The poly(HEMA-MAC) monolith with a swelling ratio of 89%, and containing 69.4 μmol MAC/g were used in the adsorption studies. Adsorption capacity of the monolith for the metal ions, i.e., Cu2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Hg2+, and Pb2+ were investigated in aqueous media containing different amounts of the ions (10–750 mg/L) and at different pH values (3.0–7.0). The maximum adsorption capacities of the poly(HEMA-MAC) monolith were 68.2 mg/g for Zn2+, 129.2 mg/g for Cu2+, 245.8 mg/g for Pb2+, 270.2 mg/g for Hg2+, and 284.0 mg/g for Cd2+. pH significantly affected the adsorption capacity of MAC incorporated monolith. The competitive adsorption capacities were 587 μmol/g for Zn2+, 1646 μmol/g for Cu2+, 687 μmol/g for Pb2+, 929 μmol/g for Hg2+, and 1993 μmol/g for Cd2+. The chelating monolith exhibited the following metal ion affinity sequence on molar basis: Cd2+ > Cu2+ > Hg2+ > Pb2+ > Zn2+. The formation constants of MAC–metal ion complexes have been investigated applying the method of Ruzic. The calculated values of stability constants were 5.28 × 104 L/mol for Cd2+, 4.16 × 104 L/mol for Cu2+, 2.27 × 104 L/mol for Hg2+, 1.98 × 104 L/mol for Pb2+, and 1.25 × 104 L/mol for Zn2+. Stability constants were increased with increasing binding affinity. The chelating monoliths can be easily regenerated by 0.1 M HNO3 with higher effectiveness. These features make poly(HEMA-MAC) monolith a potential adsorbent for heavy metal removal.  相似文献

The use of a reactive electrode (reactrode) consisting of graphite, a solid ion exchanger (HYPHAN) and paraffin for the batch analysis of Cd2+, Cu2+, Pb2+ and Hg2+ in aqueous samples and as a passive monitor for these metal ions is described. The metal ions are accumulated on the reactrode surface at an open-circuit potential in an ion-exchange reaction. After the accumulation, the ion exchanger-bonded metal ions are reduced to the metals which remain on the electrode surface. In a following step, the metals are anodically dissolved which is recorded by differential-pulse voltammetry. The 3s detection limits for the analysis of drinking water are: 1.1×10-7 mol/l for Pb2+, 5×10-8 mol/l for Hg2+ and 2.4×10-7 mol/l for Cu2+.The reactrode developed can be used for the passive monitoring of heavy metals in aqueous streams if the reactrode is mounted in a wall-jet cell which is part of a flow-through system. Using this arrangement, it has been possible to determine Hg2+, Cu2+ and Pb2+ in drinking water after 20 hours of accumulation.  相似文献

A green and facile method was developed to prepare a novel hybrid nanocomposite that consisted of one-dimensional multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and two-dimensional graphene oxide (GO) sheets. The as-prepared three-dimensional GO–MWCNTs hybrid nanocomposites exhibit excellent water-solubility owing to the high hydrophilicity of GO components; meanwhile, a certain amount of MWCNTs loaded on the surface of GO sheets through π–π interaction seem to be “dissolved” in water. Moreover, the graphene(G)-MWCNTs nanocomposites with excellent conductivity were obtained conveniently by the direct electrochemical reduction of GO–MWCNTs nanocomposites. Seeing that there is a good synergistic effect between MWCNTs and graphene components in enhancing preconcentration efficiency of metal ions and accelerating electron transfer rate at G-MWCNTs/electrolyte interface, the G-MWCNTs nanocomposites possess fast, simultaneous and sensitive detection performance for trace amounts of heavy metal ions. The electrochemical results demonstrate that the G-MWCNTs nanocomposites can act as a kind of practical sensing material to simultaneously determine Pb2+ and Cd2+ ions in terms of anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). The linear calibration plots for Pb2+ and Cd2+ ranged from 0.5 μg L−1 to 30 μg L−1. The detection limits were determined to be 0.2 μg L−1 (S/N = 3) for Pb2+ and 0.1 μg L−1 (S/N = 3) for Cd2+ in the case of a deposition time of 180 s. It is worth mentioning that the G-MWCNTs modified electrodes were successfully applied to the simultaneous detection of Cd2+ and Pb2+ ions in real electroplating effluent samples containing lots of surface active impurities, showing a good application prospect in the determination of trace amounts of heavy metals.  相似文献

A highly sensitive method for the determination of trace amounts of transition metal ions by use of sulfide in the Belousov-Zhabotinskii (B-Z) oscillating chemical reaction is proposed. The use of sulfide increased strongly the sensitivity of the B-Z reaction for transition metal ions, such as Ag+, Pb2+, Hg2+, Cd2+, Cu2+,and Bi3+. Results showed that the variational ratio of oscillating period (PR) is linearly proportional to the negative logarithm of concentration of metal ions. The detection limit is down to 10−12 mol L−1. Various influencing factors on the determination were also examined.  相似文献

In order to explore the reuse properties of oxidized chelating resin containing sulfur after adsorption, two kinds of novel chelating resins, poly[4-vinylbenzyl-(2-hydroxyethyl)] sulfoxide (PVBSO) and poly[4-vinylbenzyl-(2-hydroxyethyl)] sulfone (PVBSO2), were synthesized using poly[4-vinylbenzyl-(2-hydroxyethyl)] sulfide (PVBS) as material. Their structures were confirmed by FTIR and XPS. The adsorption properties and mechanism for metal ions such as Au3+, Pt4+, Pd2+, Hg2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Fe3+, Pb2+, Cd2+, and Zn2+ were investigated. Experimental results showed that PVBSO had good adsorption and selective properties for Au3+, Pd2+ and Cu2+ when the coexisting ion was Pt4+, Ni2+, Pb2+ or Cd2+. In the aqueous system containing Cu2+ and Pb2+ or Cu2+ and Cd2+, PVBSO2 only adsorbed Cu2+. The selective coefficients of PVBSO and PVBSO2 were αAu/Pt = 4.8, αAu/Pd = 11.8, αPd/Pt = 10.9, αCu/Ni = 2.5, αCu/Cd = 41.2, αCu/Pb = ∞, αCu/Ni = 3.0, αCu/Cd = ∞, αCu/Pb = ∞, respectively.  相似文献

The efficiencies and performances of silver nanoparticle loaded activated carbon modified with 2-(4-isopropylbenzylideneamino)thiophenol (IPBATP-Ag-NP-AC) and activated carbon modified with IPBATP (IPBATP-AC), as new sorbents, were evaluated for separation and preconcentration of Cu2+, Zn2+, Co2+, Cd2+ and Pb2+ ions from real environmental samples. The retained metals content was reversibly eluted using 5?mL of CH3COOH (6.0?mol?L?1) and/or 10?mL of 4.0?mol?L?1 HNO3 for IPBATP-Ag-NP-AC and IPBATP-AC, respectively. The experimental parameters influence the recoveries of metal ions including pH, amounts of ligand and supports, condition of eluents, sample and eluent flow rates of has been investigated. The preconcentration factors were found to be 100 for Zn2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Cu2+ and 50 for Pb2+ ions using IPBATP-Ag-NP-AC, and 50 for Zn2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Cu2+ and 25 for Pb2+ ions using IPBATP-AC. The detection limit of both SPE-based sorbents was between 1.6–2.5?ng?mL?1 for IPBATP-AC and 1.3–2.5?ng?mL?1 for IPBATP-Ag-NP-AC. The proposed methods have been successfully applied for the extraction and determination of the understudy metal ions content in some real samples with extraction efficiencies higher than 90% and relative standard deviations (RSD) lower than 2.4%.  相似文献

The sorption of metal ions (e.g. Cd2+, Cu2+, Ni2+ and Pb2+) from aqueous solution on the anion exchange resin Amberlite IRA-904 modified with tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP) was studied in batch equilibrium experiments. The influence of operating variables such as initial pH and contact time between solution and the resin on the equilibrium parameters was measured. The selectivity order of investigated metal ions was evaluated as follows: Pb2+ > Ni2+ > Cu2+ > Cd2+. The matrix cations, such as Mg2+ and Ca2+, exhibit very low affinity for TCPP-modified resin. The rate uptake of the sorption procedure is predominantly controlled by film diffusion. The best retention kinetic was observed for lead where half the saturation of the TCPP-modified sorbent was achieved in less than 5 min. Author for correspondence.
