The sensitive differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) proposed originally by Ishiyama et al. (2001) has been revised and improved to allow the accurate measurement of silicon on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) instead of a glassy carbon electrode. We assessed the rate of formation of the partially reduced β-silicododecamolybdate and found that metallic mercury promotes the reaction in the presence of a large concentration of Fe3+. The scope of the method has been broadened by carrying out the measurements in the presence of a constant amount of Fe3+. The limit of detection (LOD) of the method described in the present paper is 100 μg Si g−1 of steel, with a relative precision ranging from 5% to 12%. It can be further enhanced to 700 ng Si g−1 of steel provided the weight of the sample, the dilution factors, the duration of the electrolysis and the ballast of iron are adequately revised. The tolerance to several interfering species has been examined, especially regarding Al3+, Cr3+ and Cr VI species. The method was validated using four low-alloy ferritic steels certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Its application to nickel base alloys as well as to less complicated matrixes is straightforward. It has also been successfully applied to the determination of free silicon into silicon carbide nano-powder. 相似文献

Capabilities for heavy metal speciation of anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) and constant-current stripping chronopotentiometry (SCP) in both mercury drop (HMDE) and mercury film rotating disk (MFE-RDE) electrodes are compared. For this purpose, the Cd(II)–glycine and Cd(II)–polymethacrylate (PMA) systems are used as models of simple labile and macromolecular labile complexes adsorbing onto the electrode, respectively. The results suggest that SCP could be a valuable alternative to the more widespread ASV in this kind of study. Concerning the electrode, the MFE-RDE is less user-friendly than the HMDE, but presents a better definition of both the hydrodynamic conditions during the deposition step and the stripping regime during the oxidation. An important interference in SCP is the dissolved oxygen, which can be minimised by combining relatively large oxidation currents and low stirring rates. Moreover, for Cd–PMA, double peaks have been observed in both ASV and SCP, which seems to be due to the lack of enough ligand excess to complex the metal ions released by the amalgam oxidation. Anyway, this problem can be minimised by optimising the rotation rate of the electrode and ensuring enough ligand excess. 相似文献

The possibility of applying antimony-film modified glassy carbon electrode in sequential-injection analysis (SIA) was investigated with the objective of determining Pb(II) and Cd(II) by anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). The conditions of antimony-film deposition concerning composition of the plating/carrier solutions, concentrations of Sb(III) and hydrochloric acid, effects of different supporting electrolyte salts, and plating potential were optimized. It was found that the antimony-film deposition on glassy carbon substrate in a sample solution consisting of 750 μg L−1 Sb(III), 0.5 mol L−1 HCl at −1.5 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/3 mol L−1 KCl) yielded a modified electrode suitable for the determination of Pb(II) and Cd(II) at the μg L−1 level. The reproducibility of the analytical signals was characterized by a relative standard deviation lower than 2.8%, and the calculated values of detection limits were 1.2 μg L−1 for Pb(II) and 1.4 μg L−1 for Cd(II). The presence of KSCN in the sample solution offers the possibility of detecting ions with more negative oxidation potentials like Zn(II), Mn(II) or Cr(III). The developed SIA-ASV procedure was compared with the commonly used batch method, and its applicability was tested on a spiked tap water sample. 相似文献

New insights into the functioning, i.e. electrochemical behaviour and analytical performance, of in situ prepared antimony film electrodes (SbFEs) under square-wave anodic stripping (SW-ASV) and cyclic (CV) voltammetry conditions are presented by studying several key operational parameters using Pb(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) as model analyte ions. Five different carbon- and metal-based substrate transducer electrodes revealed a clear advantage of the former ones while the concentration of the precursor Sb(III) ion exhibited a distinct influence on the ASV functioning of the SbFE. Among six acids examined as potential supporting electrolytes the HNO3 was demonstrated to yield nearly identical results in conducting ASV experiments with SbFE as so far almost exclusively used HCl. This is extremely important as HNO3 is commonly employed acidifying agent in trace metal analysis, especially in elemental mass spectrometry measurements. By carrying out a systematic CV and ASV investigation using a medium exchange protocol, we confirmed the formation of poorly soluble oxidized Sb species at the substrate electrode surface at the end of each stripping step, i.e. at the potentials beyond the anodic dissolution of the antimony film. Hence, the significance of the cleaning and initializing the surface of a substrate electrode after accomplishing a stripping step was thoroughly studied in order to find conditions for a complete removal of the adhered Sb-oxides and thus to assure a memory-free functioning of the in situ prepared SbFE. Finally, the practical analytical application of the proposed ASV method was successfully tested and evaluated by measuring the three metal analytes in ground (tap) and surface (river) water samples acidified with HNO3. Our results approved the appropriateness of the SbFE and the proposed method for measuring low μg L−1 levels of some toxic metals, particularly taking into account the possibility of on-field testing and the use of low cost instrumentation. 相似文献

A bismuth bulk electrode (BiBE) has been investigated as an alternative electrode for the anodic stripping voltammetric (ASV) analysis of Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II). The BiBE, which is fabricated in-house, shows results comparable to those of similar analyses at other Bi-based electrodes. Metal accumulation is achieved by holding the electrode potential at −1.4 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) for 180 s followed by a square wave voltammetric stripping scan from −1.4 to −0.35 V. Calibration plots are obtained for all three metals, individually and simultaneously, in the10-100 μg L−1 range, with a detection limit of 93, 54, and 396 ng L−1 for Pb(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), respectively. A slight reduction in slope is observed for Cd(II) and Pb(II) when the three metals are calibrated simultaneously vs. individually. Comparing the sensitivities of the metals when calibrated individually vs. in a mixture reveals that Zn(II) is not affected by stripping in a mixture. However, Pb(II) and Cd(II) have decreasing sensitivities in a mixture. The optimized method has been successfully used to test contaminated river water by standard addition. The results demonstrate the ability of the BiBE as an alternative electrode material in heavy metal analysis. 相似文献

This work reports the use of and -cyclodextrin-modified carbon paste electrodes (CPE-CD and CPE-CD) to determine simultaneously Pb(II) and Cd(II) by means of the electrochemical technique known as anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). Both modified electrodes displayed good resolution of the oxidation peaks of the said metals. Statistic analysis of the results strongly suggests that the CPE-CD exhibited a better analytical response that the CPE-CD, while the detection limits obtained for Pb(II) were 6.3×10–7 M for the CPE-CD and 7.14×10–7 M for the CPE-CD, whereas for Cd(II) they were 2.51×10–6 M for the CPE-CD and 2.03×10–6 M for the CPE-CD. 相似文献

Lutetium has been determined by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry in an acidic solution containing Zn-EDTA.
Lutetium (III) ions liberated zinc (II), which was preconcentrated on a hanging mercury drop electrode and stripped anodically,
resulting in peak current linearly dependent on lutetium (III) concentration. Less than 0.4 ng mL−1 lutetium could be detected after a 2 min deposition.

An electrochemical method for the simultaneous determinations of HgII concentration and total AsIII and AsV concentration has been developed. The method does not require the additional preliminary step of the chemical reduction of AsV to AsIII, or oxidation of AsIII to AsV before stripping analysis takes place. Also, the method for the simultaneous determination of HgII concentration and AsIII concentration is described. Measurements were performed in 0.1 M HCl using a gold-plated graphite electrode as sensor. Detection limits for both methods are below 0.4 ppb. Relative standard deviation did not exceed 15%. The possible interference by other trace metals was investigated. Analyses of natural water and industrial solutions were made using proposed methods and AAS. The t-test demonstrates that there was no significant difference between the results obtained with these methods. Proposed methods decrease the time of analysis because concentrations of the HgII and arsenic ions were measured simultaneously. Also, the removal of the additional step of chemical reduction of AsV to AsIII or oxidation of AsIII to AsV decreases analysis time, and also reduces the chance of contamination due to the use of additional reagents. 相似文献

The presence of trace metals in car fuels plays an important role in the engine maintenance. In addition, these metals contribute for the environmental contamination in big cities and their control is necessary. Square Wave Stripping Voltammetry (SWSV) is a very sensitive technique for elemental trace determination and was applied for ethanol fuel analysis. The first studies were done searching for the best conditions for copper determination in alcoholic medium, utilizing gold electrodes. During these studies, the possibility of the simultaneous determination of copper and lead in the same experiment was observed. Two procedures for the analysis of these metals were adopted: The direct quantification of metals in alcohol–water mixtures and a second way that involves the evaporation of the organic solvent and re-suspension of the ions with water+electrolyte. Good recovery values were obtained for synthetic samples spiked with known amounts of metals. The results obtained for the two methods were in good agreement. The detection limits for copper and lead in 75% ethanol–water ratio solution were calculated as 120 and 235 ng l−1, respectively, for 15-min deposition time. 相似文献

A novel method is described for determination of metoclopramide (MCP) by second-derivative adsorptive anodic stripping voltammetry with a nafion-modified electrode. The stripping peak current is proportional to the concentration of MCP over the range 1.2×10−9–4.6×10−7 M. The detection limit is 8.0×10−11 M with 4-min accumulation. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of MCP in human serum. 相似文献

Determination of naringin in grapefruit juice by cathodic stripping differential pulse voltammetry at the hanging mercury drop electrode 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A highly sensitive cathodic stripping voltammetric method for the determination of naringin is presented. It is based on the formation and accumulation of two naringin–mercury complexes at the electrode surface, followed by reduction of the surface species during a differential pulse voltammetric scan. The cathodic stripping responses at −0.25 V and −0.42 V, are evaluated with respect to various experimental conditions, such as composition and pH of the supporting electrolyte, naringin concentration, accumulation potential and preconcentration time. The new method is suitable for the determination of naringin concentrations between 0.1 mg l−1 (1.72×10−7 mol l−1) and 40 mg l−1 (6.88×10−5 mol l−1). A 3σ limit of detection of 32 μg l−1 (55 nmol l−1) can be reached. The relative standard deviation (r.s.d.) is <1.5%. Recovery experiments yielded a mean recovery of 97% (r.s.d.=4.1%). The application of the procedure to the selective determination of naringin in grapefruit juice is demonstrated. 相似文献

A square-wave voltammetric (SWV) method using a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) has been developed for determination of the herbicide molinate in a biodegradation process. The method is based on controlled adsorptive accumulation of molinate for 10 s at a potential of –0.8 V versus AgCl/Ag. An anodic peak, due to oxidation of the adsorbed pesticide, was observed in the cyclic voltammogram at ca. –0.320 V versus AgCl/Ag; a very small cathodic peak was also detected. The SWV calibration plot was established to be linear in the range 5.0×10–6 to 9.0×10–6 mol L–1; this corresponded to a detection limit of 3.5×10–8 mol L–1. This electroanalytical method was used to monitor the decrease of molinate concentration in river waters along a biodegradation process using a bacterial mixed culture. The results achieved with this voltammetric method were compared with those obtained by use of a chromatographic method (HPLC–UV) and no significant statistical differences were observed. 相似文献

This work exploited a sequential injection lab-on-valve (LOV) system for the determination of cadmium by anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). A miniaturized electrochemical flow cell (EFC) was fabricated in LOV, in which a nafion coated bismuth film electrode was used as working electrode. The cadmium was electrodeposited on the electrode surface in bismuth solution, and measured with the subsequential stripping scan. Under optimal conditions, the proposed system responded linearly to cadmium concentrations in a range 2.0-100.0 μg L−1. The detection limit of this method was found to be 0.88 μg L−1. By loading a sample volume of 800 μL, a sampling frequency of 22 determinations h−1 was achieved. The repeatability expressed as relative standard derivation (R.S.D.) was 3.65% for 20 μg L−1 cadmium (n = 11). The established method was applied to analysis of trace cadmium in environmental water samples and the spiked recoveries were satisfactory. 相似文献

Arsenic (III), respectively arsenic(V) after the reduction were determined in model solutions and some inorganic and organic materials by fast scan differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry and by direct current cathodic stripping voltammetry with a rapid increase of potential. The accumulation on a hanging mercury drop electrode followed by cathodic stripping was carried out in 0.7–0.8M HCl or 1–2M H2SO4 solutions containing Cu(II)-ions. Detection limits calculated from regression parameters was determined to be under 1 ng/ml for the samples containing very low arsenic concentrations. The relative standard deviation did not reach 8% for arsenic contents about of 5 ng/ml. 相似文献

Dimenhydrinate exhibits a single adsorptive stripping peak at a hanging mercury drop electrode after accumulation at 0.0V vs Ag/AgCl electrode at pH 3.8 (acetate buffer). The addition of trace amounts of copper ions enhanced the dimenhydrinate peak and its height depends on the concentration of each dimenhydrinate and Cu2+. The adsorptive stripping response was evaluated with respect to accumulation time and potential, concentration dependence, electrolyte, the presence of other purines, surfactants and other metal ions, and some variables. The calibration graph for dimenhydrinate determination is linear over the range 2.0×10–8–2.0×10–7 M (pre-concentration for 60s). The correlation factor is found to be 0.985 and RSD is 3.2% at 1.0×10–7 M. Detection limit is 1.0×10–8 M after 5 min accumulation. The determination of dimenhydrinate in pharmaceutical formulations by the proposed method is also reported. 相似文献

The proposed method for cyanide determination at the ultratrace level by differential pulse voltammetry is based in the sensitivity enhancement obtained when both Cu(II) and EDTA are present in the background electrolyte. Comparison of the detection limits and linear dynamic ranges using the conventional borate (pH 9.75), and the proposed borate-EDTA–Cu(II) background electrolytes was carried out. Best results have been obtained with the addition of 0.5 mmol l−1 EDTA and 0.02 mmol l−1 of Cu(II), which allow a detection limit of 1.7 μg l−1 CN− (65 nmol l−1 — absolute detection limit 34 ng) with a precision better than ±2% for a 40 μg l−1 level. Calibration range extended from detection limit up to 100 μg l−1. Cyclic voltammetry indicates that the measured cyanide peak is obtained when the electrogenerated CuCN adsorbed onto the hanging mercury drop electrode surface, is oxidised at positive going potential scan. The method has been successfully applied to various industrial waste waters such as metal-finishing waste waters, water/sand mixtures from cleaning processes of coke production, leachates from wastes obtained from electrolytic cells of aluminium production, and liquors from gold extraction industry. Results obtained by the proposed method showed good agreement with those obtained by the standard methods (ion-selective potentiometry and the spectrophotometric pyridine method). 相似文献

An anodic stripping voltammetric method has been developed for determination of cadmium, lead, copper and zinc in acetic acid extract of glazed ceramic surfaces. An aliquot of 4% (v/v) acetic acid solution was kept in a ceramic ware for 24 h in the dark, then 10 mL of the extracted solution was placed in a voltammetric cell. The solution was purged with oxygen free nitrogen gas for 3 min before deposition of the metals was carried out by applying a constant potential of −1.20 V versus Ag/AgCl to the hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) for 45 s. A square wave waveform was scanned from −1.20 to 0.15 V and a voltammogram was recorded. A standard addition procedure was used for quantification. Detection limits of 0.25, 0.07, 2.7 and 0.5 μg L−1 for cadmium, lead copper and zinc, respectively, were obtained. Relative standard deviations for 11 replicate determinations of 100 μg L−1 each of all the metals were in the range of 2.8-3.6%. Percentage recoveries obtained by spiking 50 μg L−1 of each metal to the sample solution were in the range of 105-113%. The method was successfully applied to ceramic wares producing in Lampang province of Thailand. It was found that the contents of cadmium, lead, copper and zinc released from the samples were in the range of <0.01-0.16, 0.02-0.45, <0.14 and 0.28-10.36 μg dm−2, respectively, which are lower than the regulated values of the Thai industrial standard. The proposed method is simpler, more convenient and more sensitive than the standard method based on FAAS. 相似文献

A novel electrochemical methods namely standard free anodic stripping voltammetry and anodic stripping voltammetric titration are proposed for determination of dissolved sulfide concentration. 2Ag+ + S2− → Ag2S reaction is used to provide the information. The anodic stripping voltammetric response of unreacted silver-ions at the glassy carbon electrode is used as analytical signal. Results reliability and accuracy are confirmed by analysis of model solutions, spiked natural and tap waters and recovery study, with a recovery of 100 ± 5% (n = 7) obtained. The approaches show the detection limit (3σblank) of 2-5 × 10−10 mol L−1 and the relative standard deviation of 2-5% for repeated measurements. 相似文献
