The ternary stoichiometric perovskite compounds, Na0.75Ln0.25Ti0.5Nb0.5O3 (Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm) are intermediate members of the NaNbO3-Na0.5Ln0.5TiO3 solid solution series. The compounds were synthesized by standard ceramic methods at 1300 °C followed by annealing at 800 °C and quenching to ambient conditions. Rietveld analysis of the powder X-ray diffraction patterns shows that the compounds with Ln ranging from Pr to Tm adopt the orthorhombic space group Pbnm (ab≈√2ap; c≈2ap; Z=4) and the GdFeO3 structure. In contrast, Na0.75La0.25Ti0.5Nb0.5O3 adopts the orthorhombic space group Cmcm (abc≈2ap; Z=4). All cations located at the A- and B-sites are disordered in these compounds. The unit cell parameters and cell volumes of the compounds decrease regularly with increasing atomic number of the Ln cation. The Pbnm compounds with Ln from Sm to Tm have A-site cations in eight-fold coordination. A-site cations in the Pr and Nd compounds are considered to be in ten-fold coordination. Analysis of the crystal chemistry of the Pbnm compounds shows that B-site cations enter the second coordination sphere of the A-site cations for compounds with Ln from Tb to Tm as the A-B intercation distances are less than the maximum A-IIO(2) bond lengths. The [111] tilt angles of the (Ti,Nb)O6 polyhedra in the Pbnm compounds increase with increasing atomic number from 11.1° to 15.8° and are less than those observed in lanthanide orthoferrite and orthoscandate perovskites. These data are considered as relevant to the sequestration of lanthanide fission products in perovskite and the structure of lanthanide-bearing perovskite-structured minerals.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Sr2−xNdxFeMoO6 (x=0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4) materials have been synthesized by a citrate co-precipitation method and studied by neutron powder diffraction (NPD) and magnetization measurements. Rietveld analysis of the temperature-dependent NPD data shows that the compounds (x=0.0, 0.1, 0.2) crystallize in the tetragonal symmetry in the range 10-400 K and converts to cubic symmetry above 450 K. The unit cell volume increases with increasing Nd3+ concentration, which is an electronic effect in order to change the valence state of the B-site cations. Antisite defects at the Fe-Mo sublattice increases with the Nd3+ doping. The Curie temperature was increased from 430 K for x=0 to 443 K for x=0.4. The magnetic moment of the Fe-site decreases while the Mo-site moment increases with electron doping. The antiferromagnetic arrangement causes the system to show a net ferrimagnetic moment.  相似文献

We have employed aliovalent A-site cation substitution, LaIII-for-SrII, to dope the Sr(Fe0.5Ta0.5)O3 perovskite oxide with electrons. Essentially single-phase samples of (Sr1−xLax)(Fe0.5Ta0.5)O3 were successfully synthesized up to x≈0.3 in a vacuum furnace at 1400 °C. The samples were found to crystallize (rather than with orthorhombic symmetry) in monoclinic space group P21/n that accounts for the partial ordering of the B-site cations, Fe and Ta. With increasing La-substitution level, x, the degree of Fe/Ta order was found to increase such that the La-richest compositions are best described by the B-site ordered double-perovskite formula, (Sr,La)2FeTaO6. From Fe L3 and Ta L3 XANES spectra it was revealed that upon electron doping the two B-site cations, FeIII and TaV, are both prone to reduction. Magnetic susceptibility measurements showed spin-glass type behaviour for all the samples with a transition temperature slightly increasing with increasing x.  相似文献

A-site substituted cerium orthovanadates, Ce1−xSrxVO4, were synthesised by solid-state reactions. It was found that the solid solution limit in Ce1−xSrxVO4 is at x=0.175. The crystal structure was analysed by X-ray diffraction and it exhibits a tetragonal zircon structure of space group I41/amd (1 4 1) with a=7.3670 (3) and c=6.4894 (1) Å for Ce0.825Sr0.175VO4. The UV-vis absorption spectra indicated that the compounds have band gaps at room temperature in the range 4.5-4.6 eV. Conductivity measurements were performed for the first time up to the strontium solid solution limit in air and in dry 5% H2/Ar with conductivity values at 600 °C ranging from 0.3 to 30 mS cm−1 in air to 30-45 mS cm−1 in reduced atmosphere. Sample Ce0.825Sr0.175VO4 is redox stable at a temperature below 600 °C although the conductivity is not high enough to be used as an electrode for solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献

The 6H BaRu1−xMnxO3 with the hexagonal BaTiO3 structure was synthesized using high-pressure sintering method. It is found that the lattice parameter deviates from Vegard's law at x=0.3 for the solid solutions due to the charge transfer effects at B-site. The substitution of Mn for Ru cations gives rise to the short-range magnetic ordering, due to the disordered arrangement of Ru and Mn cations. The compounds are weak ferromagnetic in the x range 0.05-0.40, with the maximal Curie temperature Tc 175.2 K at x=0.10. They are of spin-glass-like magnetism at lower temperature at x?0.1. With Mn doping, the 6H BaRuO3 transforms to a semiconductor from the primal metal at x=0.30. The resistance as a function of temperature below about 70 K follows the two-dimensional variable-range hopping conduction mechanism in BaRu0.50Mn0.50O3.  相似文献

The microstructure and phase stability of nanocrystalline mixed oxide LuxCe1−xO2−y (x=0-1) are described. Nano-sized (3-4 nm) oxide particles were prepared by the reverse microemulsion method. Morphological and structural changes upon heat treatment in an oxidizing atmosphere were studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman and Yb3+ emission spectroscopy, the latter ion being present as an impurity in the Lu2O3 starting material. Up to 950 °C, the samples were single phase, with structure changing smoothly with Lu content from fluorite type (F) to bixbyite type (C). For the samples heated at 1100 °C phase separation into coexisting F- and C-type structures was observed for 0.35<x<0.7. It was also found that addition of Lu strongly hinders the crystallite growth of ceria during heat treatment at 800 and 950 °C.  相似文献

In this work, a study was undertaken about the structural and photoluminescent properties, at room temperature, of powder samples from the CaxSr1−xWO4 (x=0-1.0) system, synthesized by a soft chemical method and heat treated between 400 and 700 °C. The material was characterized using Infrared, UV-vis and Raman spectroscopy and XRD. The most intense PL emission was obtained for the sample calcined at 600 °C, which is neither highly disordered (400-500 °C), nor completely ordered (700 °C). Corroborating the role of disorder in the PL phenomenon, the most intense PL response was not observed for pure CaWO4 or SrWO4, but for Ca0.6Sr0.4WO4. The PL emission spectra could be separated into two Gaussian curves. The lower wavelength peak is placed around 530 nm, and the higher wavelength peak at about 690 nm. Similar results were reported in the literature for both CaWO4 and SrWO4.  相似文献

Five series of perovskite-type compounds in the system La1−xCaxCr1−yTiyO3 with the nominal compositions y=0, x=0-0.5; y=0.2, x=0.2-0.8; y=0.5, x=0.5-1.0; y=0.8, x=0.6-1.0 and y=1, x=0.8-1 were synthesized by a ceramic technique in air (final heating 1350 °C). On the basis of the X-ray analysis of the samples with (Ca/Ti)?1, the phase diagram of the CaTiO3-LaCrIIIO3-CaCrIVO3 quasi-ternary system was constructed. Extended solid solution with a wide homogeneity range is formed in the quasi-ternary system CaCrIVO3-CaTiO3-LaCrIIIO3. The solid solution La(1−x′−y)Ca(x′+y)CrIVxCrIII(1−x′−y)TiyO3 exists by up to 0.6-0.7 mol fractions of CaCrIVO3 (x<0.6-0.7) at the experimental conditions. The crystal structure of the compounds is orthorhombic in the space group Pbnm at room temperature. The lattice parameters and the average interatomic distances of the samples within the solid solution ranges decrease uniformly with increasing Ca content. Outside the quasi-ternary system, the nominal compositions La0.1Ca0.9TiO3, La0.2Ca0.8TiO3, La0.4Ca0.6Cr0.2Ti0.8O3 and La0.3Ca0.7Cr0.2Ti0.8O3 in the system La1−xCaxCr1−yTiyO3 were found as single phases with an orthorhombic structure. In the temperature range between 850 and 1000 °C, the synthesized single-phase compositions are stable at pO2=6×10−16-0.21×105 Pa. Oxygen stoichiometry and electrical conductivity of the separate compounds were investigated as functions of temperature and oxygen partial pressure. The chemical stability of these oxides with respect to oxygen release during thermal dissociation decreases with increasing Ca-content. At 900 °C and oxygen partial pressure 1×10−15-0.21×105 Pa, the compounds with x>y (acceptor doped) are p-type semiconductors and those with x<y (donor doped) and x=y are n-type semiconductors. The type and level of electrical conductivity are functions of the concentration ratios of cations occupying the B-sites of the perovskite structures: [Cr3+]/[Cr4+] and [Ti4+]/[Ti3+]. The maximum electrical conductivity at 900 °C and pO2=10−15 Pa was found for the composition La0.1Ca0.9TiO3 (near 50 S/cm) and in air at 900 °C for La0.5Ca0.5CrO3 (close to 100 S/cm).  相似文献

Oxypnictides of the type PrOFe1−xCoxAs (x≤0.3) were synthesized for the first time by the sealed tube method. All the compounds were found to be monophasic and crystallize in the tetragonal ZrCuSiAs type structure (space group=P4/nmm) and the lattice parameters (a and c) decrease with increase in cobalt content. Mössbauer measurements of the compounds indicate low spin Fe2+ in tetrahedral coordination. Resistivity and magnetization studies reveal superconducting transitions in compounds with ‘x’=0.05, 0.10 and 0.15, with maximum transition temperature (Tc) at ∼14 K in the compound with ‘x’=0.1. The variation of resistivity with temperature under different magnetic field has been studied to estimate the upper critical field (Hc2) (∼50.2 T for the ‘x’=0.1 composition). The Seebeck and Hall coefficient (RH) suggests electron type charge carriers in these compound and the charge carrier density increases with increase in Co-doping.  相似文献

A series of 25 members of the 1:3 ordered perovskite family of the type Ba4−xSrxNaSb3O12 has been synthesized and their structures determined using synchrotron X-ray and neutron powder diffraction techniques. At room temperature the sample Ba4NaSb3O12 has a cubic structure in space group with a=8.2821(1) Å, where the Na and Sb cations are ordered in the octahedral sites but there is no tilting of the (Na/Sb)O6 octahedra. As the average size of the A-site cation decreases, through the progressive replacement of Ba by Sr, tilting of the octahedra is introduced firstly lowering the symmetry to tetragonal in P4/mnc then to orthorhombic in Cmca and ultimately a monoclinic structure in P21/n as seen for Sr4NaSb3O12 with a=8.0960(2) Å, b=8.0926(2) Å, c=8.1003(1) Å and β=90.016(2)°. The powder neutron diffraction studies show that the orthorhombic and tetragonal phases in Cmca and P4/mnc co-exist at room temperature for samples with x between 1.5 and 2.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of Aurivillius-type phases incorporating magnetic M4+ cations (M=Mn, Ru, Ir), based on the substitution of M4+ for Ti4+ in Bi2Sr2(Nb,Ta)2TiO12. The key to incorporating these magnetic transition metal cations appears to be the partial substitution of Sr2+ for Bi3+ in the α-PbO-type layer of the Aurivillius phase, leading to a concomitant decrease in the M4+ content; i.e., the composition of the prepared compounds was Bi2−xSr2+x(Nb,Ta)2+xM1−xO12, x≈0.5. These compounds only exist over a narrow range of x, between an apparent minimum (x≈0.4) Sr2+ content in the α-PbO-type [Bi2O2] layer required for Aurivillius phases to form with magnetic M4+ cations, and an apparent maximum (x≈0.6) Sr2+ substitution in this [Bi2O2] layer. Rietveld-refinement of synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction data making use of anomalous dispersion at the Nb and Ru K edges show that the overwhelming majority of the incorporated M cations occupy the central of the three MO6 octahedral layers in the perovskite-type block. Magnetic susceptibility measurements are presented and discussed in the context of the potential for multiferroic (magnetoelectric) properties in these materials.  相似文献

Thermoelectric properties of polycrystalline La1−xSrxCoO3, where Sr2+ is substituted in La3+ site in perovskite-type LaCoO3, have been investigated. Sr-doping increases the electrical conductivity (σ) of La1−xSrxCoO3, and also decreases the Seebeck coefficient (S) for 0.01?x?0.40. A Hall coefficient measurement reveals that the increase in electrical conductivity arises from increases in both carrier concentration and the Hall mobility. The decrease in the Seebeck coefficient is caused by a decrease in carrier effective mass as well as increase in carrier concentration. The highest power factor (σS2) is 3.7×10−4 W m−1 K−2 at 250 K for x=0.10. The thermal conductivity (κ) is about 2 W m−1 K−1 at 300 K for 0?x?0.04, and increases for x?0.05 because of an increase in heat transport by conductive carrier. The thermoelectric properties of La1−xSrxCoO3 are improved by Sr-doping, and the figure of merit (Z=σS2 κ−1) reaches 1.6×10−4 K−1 for x=0.06 at 300 K (ZT=0.048). For heavily Sr-doped samples, the thermoelectric properties diminish mainly because of the decrease in the Seebeck coefficient and the increase in thermal conductivity.  相似文献

Two-ordered perovskites, Bi1/3Sr2/3FeO2.67 and Bi1/2Ca1/2FeO2.75, have been stabilized and characterized by transmission electron microscopy, Mössbauer spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction techniques. They both exhibit orthorhombic superstructures, one with ab≈2ap and c≈3ap (S.G.: Pb2n or Pbmn) for the Sr-based compound and one with ab≈2ap and c≈8ap (S.G.: B222, Bmm2, B2mm or Bmmm) for the Ca-based one. The high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images evidence the existence of one deficient [FeOx] layer, suggesting that Bi1/3Sr2/3FeO2.67 and Bi1/2Ca1/2FeO2.75 behave differently compared to their Ln-based homolog. The HAADF-STEM images allow to propose a model of cation ordering on the A sites of the perovskite. The Mössbauer analyses confirm the trivalent state of iron and its complex environment with three types of coordination. Both compounds exhibit a high value of resistivity and the inverse molar susceptibility versus temperature curves evidence a magnetic transition at about 730 K for the Bi1/3Sr2/3FeO2.67 and a smooth reversible transition between 590 and 650 K for Bi1/2Ca1/2FeO2.75.  相似文献

The solid solubility between LaNbO4 and LaTaO4 was investigated by X-ray diffraction, and a two-phase region was observed in the composition region LaNb1−xTaxO4 where 0.4?x?0.8. Single-phase LaNb1−xTaxO4 (0?x?0.4) with the monoclinic Fergusonite structure at ambient temperature, was observed to transform to a tetragonal Scheelite structure by in-situ high-temperature X-ray diffraction, and the phase transition temperature was shown to increase with increasing Ta-content. This ferroelastic to paraelastic second-order phase transition was described by Landau theory using spontaneous strain as an order parameter. The thermal expansion of LaNb1−xTaxO4 (0?x0.4) was shown to be significantly higher below the phase transition than above. Single-phase LaNb1−xTaxO4 (0.8?x?1) with another monoclinic crystal structure at ambient temperature was shown to transform to an orthorhombic crystal structure by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. The phase transition temperature was observed to decrease with decreasing Ta-content. Finally, orthorhombic LaTaO4 could also be transformed to monoclinic LaTaO4 at ambient temperature by applying a uniaxial pressure of 150-170 MPa, reflecting the lower molar volume of monoclinic LaTaO4.  相似文献

Gd1−xSrxFeO3−δ ferrites have been studied by means of X-ray powder diffraction in the whole composition range. Single-phase solid solution is found for x<0.09 and for x>0.63. At intermediate Sr content, phase segregation takes place. Compounds with x?0.05 crystallize in the orthorhombic structure, space group Pbnm. Oxygen-deficient Gd1−xSrxFeO3−δ with x?2/3 are cubic or nearly cubic. The oxygen vacancies stabilize the cubic phase for x=2/3 whereas highly oxidized samples show an orthorhombic distortion, which has not been observed earlier. Magnetic and electrical properties have been measured for the single-phase solid solutions. Gd1−xSrxFeO3−δ compounds with x?2/3 order antiferromagnetically below ∼100 K. In the paramagnetic region, their susceptibility follows the Curie-Weiss law in all but SrFeO2.96 compound. These ferrites show semiconducting behavior in the electrical transport likely related to atomic disorder. We find that the conductivity activation energy becomes larger by increasing either the Gd content or the oxygen vacancies.  相似文献

Nickel and iron substituted LaCoO3 with rhombohedrally distorted perovskite structure were obtained in the temperature range of 600-900 °C by thermal decomposition of freeze-dried citrates and by the Pechini method. The crystal structure, morphology and defective structure of LaCo1−xNixO3 and LaCo1−xFexO3 were characterized by X-ray diffraction and neutron powder diffraction, TEM and SEM analyses and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The reducibility was tested by temperature programmed reduction with hydrogen. The products of the partial and complete reduction were determined by ex-situ XRD experiments. The replacement of Co by Ni and Fe led to lattice expansion of the perovskite structure. For perovskites annealed at 900 °C, there was a random Ni, Fe and Co distribution. The morphology of the perovskites does not depend on the Ni and Fe content, nor does it depend on the type of the precursor used. LaCo1−xNixO3 perovskites (x>0.1) annealed at 900 °C are reduced to Co/Ni transition metal and La2O3 via the formation of oxygen deficient Brownmillerite-type compositions. For LaCo1−xNixO3 annealed at 600 °C, Co/Ni metal, in addition to oxygen-deficient perovskites, was formed as an intermediate product at the initial stage of the reduction. The interaction of LaCo1−xFexO3 with H2 occurs by reduction of Co3+ to Co2+ prior to the Fe3+ ions. The reducibility of Fe-substituted perovskites is less sensitive towards the synthesis procedure in comparison with that of Ni substituted perovskites.  相似文献

Electrical conductivity, thermopower and oxygen content were measured for La1−xSrxFeO3−δ (x=0.2, 0.5, 0.9) within the oxygen partial pressure range 10−4-0.5 atm and at temperatures 750-950 °C. The dominating charge carriers under these experimental conditions are electron holes. The results of oxygen nonstoichiometry measurements are used to estimate the concentration of holes and to analyze data on conductivity and thermopower. The changes in thermopower are described by the model assuming that the number of sites accessible for migration of holes is independent on oxygen content. The mobility of electron holes is calculated, and it is found to be virtually independent on temperature in the compositions with x<0.5 while compositions with x>0.5 exhibit thermally activated mobility and mobility values about 0.1 cm2 V−1 s−1 or smaller. It is suggested that the main contribution to the composition dependent variations in electron hole mobility are associated with Coulomb interactions at small x's, whereas at high degrees of doping the mobility of holes is most strongly affected by the increasing amount of oxygen vacancies.  相似文献

Solid solutions SrAuxIn4−x (0.5?x?1.2) and SrAuxSn4−x (1.3?x?2.2) have been prepared at 700 °C and their structures characterized by powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. They adopt the tetragonal BaAl4-type structure (space group I4/mmm, Z=2; SrAu1.1(1)In2.9(1), a=4.5841(2) Å, c=12.3725(5) Å; SrAu1.4(1)Sn2.6(1), a=4.6447(7) Å, c=11.403(2) Å), with Au atoms preferentially substituting into the apical over basal sites within the anionic network. The phase width inherent in these solid solutions implies that the BaAl4-type structure can be stabilized over a range of valence electron counts (vec), 13.0-11.6 for SrAuxIn4−x and 14.1-11.4 for SrAuxSn4−x. They represent new examples of electron-poor BaAl4-type compounds, which generally have a vec of 14. Band structure calculations confirm that substitution of Au, with its smaller size and fewer number of valence electrons, for In or Sn atoms enables the BaAl4-type structure to be stabilized in the parent binaries SrIn4 and SrSn4, which adopt different structure types.  相似文献

Lithium substituted Li1+xMn2−xO4 spinel samples in the entire solid solution range (0?x?1/3) were synthesized by solid-state reaction. The samples with x<0.25 are stoichiometric and those with x?0.25 are oxygen deficient. High-temperature oxide melt solution calorimetry in molten 3Na2O·4MoO3 at 974 K was performed to determine their enthalpies of formation from constituent binary oxides at 298 K. The cubic lattice parameter was determined from least-squares fitting of powder XRD data. The variations of the enthalpy of formation from oxides and the lattice parameter with x follow similar trends. The enthalpy of formation from oxides becomes more exothermic with x for stoichiometric compounds (x<0.25) and deviates endothermically from this trend for oxygen-deficient samples (x?0.25). This energetic trend is related to two competing substitution mechanisms of lithium for manganese (oxidation of Mn3+ to Mn4+ versus formation of oxygen vacancies). For stoichiometric spinels, the oxidation of Mn3+ to Mn4+ is dominant, whereas for oxygen-deficient compounds both mechanisms are operative. The endothermic deviation is ascribed to the large endothermic enthalpy of reduction.  相似文献

The preparation of silicated hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6−x(SiO4)x(OH)2−x (SiHA) with 0?x?2 was investigated using a wet precipitation method followed by a heat treatment. X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement, Fourier transformed IR (FTIR) spectroscopy, elemental analyses, transmission electron microscopy and thermal analyses were used to characterize the samples. The raw materials were composed of a partially silicated and carbonated apatite and a secondary minor phase containing the excess silicon. Single phase silicated hydroxyapatites, with 0?x?1, could be synthesized after a thermal treatment of the raw powders above 700 °C. The presence of carbonate groups in the raw apatite played an important role in the incorporation of silicates during heating. From the different results, the mechanisms of formation of SiHA are discussed.  相似文献
