Phase transitions in MgAl2O4 were examined at 21-27 GPa and 1400-2500 °C using a multianvil apparatus. A mixture of MgO and Al2O3 corundum that are high-pressure dissociation products of MgAl2O4 spinel combines into calcium-ferrite type MgAl2O4 at 26-27 GPa and 1400-2000 °C. At temperature above 2000 °C at pressure below 25.5 GPa, a mixture of Al2O3 corundum and a new phase with Mg2Al2O5 composition is stable. The transition boundary between the two fields has a strongly negative pressure-temperature slope. Structure analysis and Rietveld refinement on the basis of the powder X-ray diffraction profile of the Mg2Al2O5 phase indicated that the phase represented a new structure type with orthorhombic symmetry (Pbam), and the lattice parameters were determined as a=9.3710(6) Å, b=12.1952(6) Å, c=2.7916(2) Å, V=319.03(3) Å3, Z=4. The structure consists of edge-sharing and corner-sharing (Mg, Al)O6 octahedra, and contains chains of edge-sharing octahedra running along the c-axis. A part of Mg atoms are accommodated in six-coordinated trigonal prism sites in tunnels surrounded by the chains of edge-sharing (Mg, Al)O6 octahedra. The structure is related with that of ludwigite (Mg, Fe2+)2(Fe3+, Al)(BO3)O2. The molar volume of the Mg2Al2O5 phase is smaller by 0.18% than sum of molar volumes of 2MgO and Al2O3 corundum. High-pressure dissociation to the mixture of corundum-type phase and the phase with ludwigite-related structure has been found only in MgAl2O4 among various A2+B3+2O4 compounds.  相似文献

Oxides in the system PrCo1−xMgxO3 (x=0.0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25) were synthesized by citrate technique and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. All compounds have a cubic perovskite structure (space group ). The maximum ratio of doped Mg in the system PrCo1−xMgxO3 is x=0.2. Further doping leads to the segregation of Pr6O11 in PrCo1−xMgxO3. The substitution of Mg for Co improves the performance of PrCoO3 as compared to the electrical conductivity measured by a four-probe electrical conductivity analyzer in the temperature range from 298 to 1073 K. The substitution of Mg for Co on the B site may be compensated by the formations of Co4+ and oxygen vacancies. The electrical conductivity of PrCo1−xMgxO3 oxides increases with increasing x in the range of 0.0-0.2. The increase in conductivity becomes considerable at the temperatures ?673 K especially for x?0.1; it reaches a maximum at x=0.2 and 1073 K. From x>0.2 the conductivity of PrCo1−xMgxO3 starts getting lower. This is probably a result of the segregation of Pr6O11 in PrCo1−xMgxO3 , which blocks oxygen transport, and association of oxygen vacancies. A change in activation energy for all PrCo1−xMgxO3 compounds (x=0-0.25) was observed, with a higher activation energy above 573 K and a lower activation energy below 573 K. The reasons for such a change are probably due to the change of dominant charge carriers from Co4+ to Vö in PrCo1−xMgxO3 oxides and a phase transition mainly starting at 573 K.  相似文献

Changes in structure and dielectric properties at elevated temperatures have been investigated on single-crystals of sodium potassium niobate, Na0.5K0.5NbO3, grown by the flux method. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the crystals underwent orthorhombic-tetragonal and tetragonal-cubic phase transitions at 465 and 671 K during heating and 446 and 666 K during cooling, respectively. Both transitions were accompanied by volumetric discontinuities of collapse upon heating and expansion upon cooling, suggesting that the transitions were of the first order. The coordination numbers of an Nb showed a decreasing tendency with decreasing temperature, i.e., 6 in cubic, 5+1 in tetragonal and 4+2 in orthorhombic. An Na atom occupied a slightly different position from the K atom in 12-fold coordination, resulting in fewer coordination numbers of 8+4 in cubic and tetragonal and 7+5 in orthorhombic. The spontaneous polarisation (Ps) estimated from the atom positions and formal charges were approximately 0.29 C m−2 in orthorhombic and 0.18 C m−2 in tetragonal. The contribution of the alkaline oxide components to Ps was estimated to be approximately 15% in both ferroelectric forms. The temperature-induced transitions were also confirmed through the dielectric constant and dielectric loss at various frequencies and the differential scanning calorimetry.  相似文献

Mg3Sb2 has been prepared by direct reaction of the elements. Powder X-ray diffraction, thermal gravimetric, differential scanning calorimetery, and microprobe data were obtained on hot pressed samples. Single phase samples of Mg3Sb2 were prepared and found to contain oxygen at the grain boundaries and to lose Mg and oxidize at temperatures above 900 K. Thermoelectric properties were characterized by Seebeck, electrical resistivity, and thermal conductivity measurements from 300 to 1023 K, and the maximum zT was found to be 0.21 at ∼875 K.  相似文献

The crystal structure of the phase previously reported to occur at 4:9 Bi2O3:Nb2O5 has been determined using single-crystal X-ray and powder neutron diffraction (P63/mmc; a=7.4363(1) Å, c=19.7587(5) Å; Z=2). The structural study combined with phase equilibrium analyses indicate that the actual composition is Bi3.32Nb7.09O22.7. This binary compound is the end-member of a family of four phases which form along a line between it and the pyrochlore phase field in the Bi2O3:Fe2O3:Nb2O5 system. The structures are derived from the parent pyrochlore end-member by chemical twinning, and can also be described as unit-cell intergrowths of the pyrochlore and hexagonal tungsten bronze (HTB) structures. The dielectric properties of the three chemically twinned pyrochlore phases, Bi3.32Nb7.09O22.7, Bi9.3Fe1.1Nb16.9O57.8 and Bi5.67FeNb10O35, were characterized. All exhibit low-temperature, broad dielectric relaxation similar to that of the Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlore. At 1 MHz and ≈175 K the observed relative permittivites were 345, 240, and 205, respectively, compared to 125 for the Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlore. The higher relative permittivities observed for the chemically twinned pyrochlore derivatives are ascribed to the presence of HTB blocks in their structures: The Bi atoms located in the HTB blocks feature highly asymmetric coordination environments compared to pyrochlore, and the magnitude of the relative permittivity increases with the proportion of Bi located within the HTB portions of the structures.  相似文献

Subsolidus phase relations have been determined for the Bi2O3-Fe2O3-Nb2O5 system in air (900-1075 °C). Three new ternary phases were observed—Bi3Fe0.5Nb1.5O9 with an Aurivillius-type structure, and two phases with approximate stoichiometries Bi17Fe2Nb31O106 and Bi17Fe3Nb30O105 that appear to be structurally related to Bi8Nb18O57. The fourth ternary phase found in this system is pyrochlore (A2B2O6O′), which forms an extensive solid solution region at Bi-deficient stoichiometries (relative to Bi2FeNbO7) suggesting that ≈4-15% of the A-sites are occupied by Fe3+. X-ray powder diffraction data confirmed that all Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlores form with positional displacements, as found for analogous pyrochlores with Zn, Mn, or Co instead of Fe. A structural refinement of the pyrochlore 0.4400:0.2700:0.2900 Bi2O3:Fe2O3:Nb2O5 using neutron powder diffraction data is reported with the A cations displaced (0.43 Å) to 96g sites and O′ displaced (0.29 Å) to 32e sites (Bi1.721Fe0.190(Fe0.866Nb1.134)O7, Fdm (#227), ). This displacive model is somewhat different from that reported for Bi1.5Zn0.92Nb1.5O6.92, which exhibits twice the concentration of small B-type cations on the A-sites as the Fe system. Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlores exhibited overall paramagnetic behavior with large negative Curie-Weiss temperature intercepts, slight superparamagnetic effects, and depressed observed moments compared to high-spin, spin-only values. The single-phase pyrochlore with composition Bi1.657Fe1.092Nb1.150O7 exhibited low-temperature dielectric relaxation similar to that observed for Bi1.5Zn0.92Nb1.5O6.92; at 1 MHz and 200 K the relative permittivity was 125, and above 350 K conductive effects were observed.  相似文献

The areas of the fusion and crystallization peaks of K3TaF8 and K3TaOF6 have been measured using the DSC mode of the high-temperature calorimeter (SETARAM 1800 K). On the basis of these quantities and the temperature dependence of the used calorimetric method sensitivity, the values of the enthalpy of fusion of K3TaF8 at temperature of fusion 1039 K: ΔfusHm(K3TaF8; 1039 K) = (52 ± 2) kJ mol−1 and of K3TaOF6 at temperature of fusion 1055 K: ΔfusHm(K3TaOF6; 1055 K) = (62 ± 3) kJ mol−1 have been determined.  相似文献

The Na-based osmium oxide pyrochlore was synthesized for the first time by an ion-exchange method using KOs2O6 as a host. The composition was identified as Na1.4Os2O6·H2O by electron probe micro-analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and structural analysis using synchrotron X-ray diffraction. Na1.4Os2O6·H2O crystallizes in a regular pyrochlore structure with some defects (space group: Fd-3m, a=10.16851(1) Å). Electrical resistivity, heat capacity, and magnetization measurements clearly showed absence of superconductivity down to 2 K, being in large contrast to what was found for the β-type pyrochlore superconductor AOs2O6 (A=Cs, Rb, and K). The Sommerfeld coefficient is 22 mJ K−2 mol−1, being the smallest among AOs2O6. A magnetic anomaly at ∼57 K and associated magneto-resistance (+3.7% at 2 K in 70 kOe) were found.  相似文献

La0.6Sr1.4MnO4 (LSMO4) layered perovskite with K2NiF4 structure was prepared and evaluated as anode material for La0.8Sr0.2Ga0.83Mg0.17O3 − δ (LSGM) electrolyte supported intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFCs). X-ray diffraction results show that LSMO4 is redox stability. Thermal expansion coefficient of LSMO4 is close to that of LSGM electrolyte. By adopting LSMO4 as anode and La0.6Sr0.4Co0.8Fe0.2O3 (LSCF) as cathode, maxium power densities of 146.6, 110.9 mW cm− 2 with H2 fuel at 850, 800 °C and 47.3 mW cm− 2 with CH4 fuel at 800 °C were obtained, respectively. Further, the cell demonstrated a reasonably stable performance under 180 mA cm− 2 for over 40 h with H2 fuel at 800 °C.  相似文献

The basic mercury(I) chromate(VI), Hg6Cr2O9 (=2Hg2CrO4·Hg2O), has been obtained under hydrothermal conditions (200 °C, 5 days) in the form of orange needles as a by-product from reacting elemental mercury and K2Cr2O7. Hydrothermal treatment of microcrystalline Hg6Cr2O9 in demineralised water at 200 °C for 3 days led to crystal growth of red crystals of the basic mercury(I, II) chromate(VI), Hg6Cr2O10 (=2Hg2CrO4·2HgO). The crystal structures were solved and refined from single crystal X-ray data sets. Hg6Cr2O9: space group P212121, Z=4, a=7.3573(12), b=8.0336(13), , 3492 structure factors, 109 parameters, R[F2>2σ(F2)]=0.0371, wR(F2 all)=0.0517; Hg6Cr2O10: space group Pca21, Z=4, a=11.4745(15), b=9.4359(12), , 3249 structure factors, 114 parameters, R[F2>2σ(F2)]=0.0398, wR(F2 all)=0.0625. Both crystal structures are made up of an intricate mercury-oxygen network, subdivided into single building blocks [O-Hg-Hg-O] for the mercurous compound, and [O-Hg-Hg-O] and [O-Hg-O] for the mixed-valent compound. Hg6Cr2O9 contains three different Hg22+ dumbbells, whereas Hg6Cr2O10 contains two different Hg22+ dumbbells and two Hg2+ cations. The HgI-HgI distances are characteristic and range between 2.5031(15) and 2.5286(9) Å. All Hg22+ groups exhibit an unsymmetrical oxygen environment. The oxygen coordination of the Hg2+ cations is nearly linear with two tightly bonded O atoms at distances around 2.07 Å. For both structures, the chromate(VI) anions reside in the vacancies of the Hg-O network and deviate only slightly from the ideal tetrahedral geometry with average Cr-O distances of ca. 1.66 Å. Upon heating at temperatures above 385 °C, Hg6Cr2O9 decomposes in a four-step mechanism with Cr2O3 as the end-product at temperatures above 620 °C.  相似文献

The characteristics of epoxy/(Ba0.8Sr0.2)(Ti0.9Zr0.1)O3 (BSTZ) composites are investigated for the further application in embedded capacitor device. The effects of BSTZ ceramic powder filler ratio on the chemical, physical and dielectric properties of epoxy/BSTZ composites are studied. Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) thermal analysis is conducted to determine the optimum values of hardener agent, curing temperature, reaction heat, and glass transition temperature (Tg). The hardener reaction process starts at about 115 °C and completes at about 200 °C, for that it is appropriate to process of epoxy/BSTZ composites in the range of temperature. The highest glass transition temperature (Tg) of 155 °C is obtained at one equivalent weight ratio (hardener/epoxy). Only the BSTZ phase can be detected in the XRD patterns of epoxy/BSTZ composites. The more BSTZ ceramic powder is mixed with epoxy, the higher crystalline intensity of tetragonal BSTZ phase are revealed in the XRD patterns. The dielectric constant measured at 1 MHz increases from 5.8 to 23.6 as the content of BSTZ ceramic powder in the epoxy/BSTZ composites increases from 10 to 70 wt%. The loss tangents of the epoxy/BSTZ composites slightly increase with the increase of measurement frequency.  相似文献

Single crystals of double-perovskite type lanthanide magnesium iridium oxides, Ln2MgIrO6 (Ln=Pr, Nd, Sm-Gd) have been grown in a molten potassium hydroxide flux. The compounds crystallize in a distorted 1:1 rock salt lattice, space group P21/n, consisting of corner shared MO6 (M=Mg2+ and Ir4+) octahedra, where the rare earth cations occupy the eight-fold coordination sites formed by the corner shared octahedra. Pr2MgIrO6, Nd2MgIrO6, Sm2MgIrO6, and Eu2MgIrO6 order antiferromagnetically around 10-15 K.  相似文献

Garnet-structure related metal oxides with the nominal chemical composition of Li5La3Nb2O12, In-substituted Li5.5La3Nb1.75In0.25O12 and K-substituted Li5.5La2.75K0.25Nb2O12 were prepared by solid-state reactions at 900, 950, and 1000 °C using appropriate amounts of corresponding metal oxides, nitrates and carbonates. The powder XRD data reveal that the In- and K-doped compounds are isostructural with the parent compound Li5La3Nb2O12. The variation in the cubic lattice parameter was found to change with the size of the dopant ions, for example, substitution of larger In3+(rCN6: 0.79 Å) for smaller Nb5+ (rCN6: 0.64 Å) shows an increase in the lattice parameter from 12.8005(9) to 12.826(1) Å at 1000 °C. Samples prepared at higher temperatures (950, 1000 °C) show mainly bulk lithium ion conductivity in contrast to those synthesized at lower temperatures (900 °C). The activation energies for the ionic conductivities are comparable for all samples. Partial substitution of K+ for La3+ and In3+ for Nb5+ in Li5La3Nb2O12 exhibits slightly higher ionic conductivity than that of the parent compound over the investigated temperature regime 25-300 °C. Among the compounds investigated, the In-substituted Li5.5La3Nb1.75In0.25O12 exhibits the highest bulk lithium ion conductivity of 1.8×10−4 S/cm at 50 °C with an activation energy of 0.51 eV. The diffusivity (“component diffusion coefficient”) obtained from the AC conductivity and powder XRD data falls in the range 10−10-10−7 cm2/s over the temperature regime 50-200 °C, which is extraordinarily high and comparable with liquids. Substitution of Al, Co, and Ni for Nb in Li5La3Nb2O12 was found to be unsuccessful under the investigated conditions.  相似文献

Crystals of Sc2AlB6 were grown using scandium oxide and elemental boron as starting materials in a self-component aluminum solution under an argon atmosphere. The growth conditions for obtaining single crystals of relatively large size were investigated. Sc2AlB6 single crystals were obtained in the form of prisms extending in the b-axis direction. The largest Sc2AlB6 crystals prepared had maximum dimensions of about 0.4×0.4×4.2 mm3. The values of the Vickers microhardness and the electrical resistivity of Sc2AlB6 crystals are 12.7±0.8 GPa and 43±8 μΩ cm, respectively. The oxidation of Sc2AlB6 crystals starts at about 773°C, and the weight gain after TG determination is 12.9 mass% at 1200°C. The oxidation products of Sc2AlB6 crystals could not determined.  相似文献

Single crystals of SrAl2Si2 were synthesized by reaction of the elements in an aluminum flux at 1000 °C. SrAl2Si2 is isostructural to CaAl2Si2 and crystallizes in the hexagonal space group P-3m1 (90 K, a=4.1834 (2), c=7.4104 (2) Å, Z=1, R1=0.0156, wR2=0.0308). Thermal analysis shows that the compound melts at ∼1020 °C. Low-temperature resistivity on single crystals along the c-axis shows metallic behavior with room temperature resistivity value of ∼7.5 mΩ cm. High-temperature Seebeck, resistivity, and thermal conductivity measurements were made on hot-pressed pellets. The Seebeck coefficient shows negative values in entire temperature range decreasing from ∼−78 μV K−1 at room temperature to −34 μV K−1 at 1173 K. Seebeck coefficients are negative indicating n-type behavior; however, the temperature dependence is consistent with contribution from minority p-type carriers as well. The lattice contribution to the thermal conductivity is higher than for clathrate structures containing Al and Si, approximately 50 mW cm−1 K, and contributes to the overall low zT for this compound.  相似文献

Crystal structure of BaMg2Si2O7 was determined and refined by a combined powder X-ray and neutron Rietveld method (monoclinic, C2/c, no. 15, Z=8, a=7.24553(8) Å, b=12.71376(14) Å, c=13.74813(15) Å, β=90.2107(8)°, V=1266.44(2) Å3; Rp/Rwp=3.38%/4.77%). The structure contains a single crystallographic type of Ba atom coordinated to eight O atoms with C1 (1) site symmetry. Under 325-nm excitation Ba0.98Eu0.02Mg2Si2O7 exhibits an asymmetric emission band around 402 nm. The asymmetric shape of the emission band is likely associated with a small electron-phonon coupling in BaMg2Si2O7. The integrated intensity of the emission band was observed to remain constant over the temperature range 4.2-300 K.  相似文献

A-site substituted cerium orthovanadates, Ce1−xSrxVO4, were synthesised by solid-state reactions. It was found that the solid solution limit in Ce1−xSrxVO4 is at x=0.175. The crystal structure was analysed by X-ray diffraction and it exhibits a tetragonal zircon structure of space group I41/amd (1 4 1) with a=7.3670 (3) and c=6.4894 (1) Å for Ce0.825Sr0.175VO4. The UV-vis absorption spectra indicated that the compounds have band gaps at room temperature in the range 4.5-4.6 eV. Conductivity measurements were performed for the first time up to the strontium solid solution limit in air and in dry 5% H2/Ar with conductivity values at 600 °C ranging from 0.3 to 30 mS cm−1 in air to 30-45 mS cm−1 in reduced atmosphere. Sample Ce0.825Sr0.175VO4 is redox stable at a temperature below 600 °C although the conductivity is not high enough to be used as an electrode for solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献

Thin crystals of La2O3, LaAlO3, La2/3TiO3, La2TiO5, and La2Ti2O7 have been irradiated in situ using 1 MeV Kr2+ ions at the Intermediate Voltage Electron Microscope-Tandem User Facility (IVEM-Tandem), Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). We observed that La2O3 remained crystalline to a fluence greater than 3.1×1016 ions cm−2 at a temperature of 50 K. The four binary oxide compounds in the two systems were observed through the crystalline-amorphous transition as a function of ion fluence and temperature. Results from the ion irradiations give critical temperatures for amorphisation (Tc) of 647 K for LaAlO3, 840 K for La2Ti2O7, 865 K for La2/3TiO3, and 1027 K for La2TiO5. The Tc values observed in this study, together with previous data for Al2O3 and TiO2, are discussed with reference to the melting points for the La2O3-Al2O3 and La2O3-TiO2 systems and the different local environments within the four crystal structures. Results suggest that there is an observable inverse correlation between Tc and melting temperature (Tm) in the two systems. More complex relationships exist between Tc and crystal structure, with the stoichiometric perovskite LaAlO3 being the most resistant to amorphisation.  相似文献

In the system BaF2/BF3/PF5/anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (aHF) a compound Ba(BF4)(PF6) was isolated and characterized by Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction on the single crystal. Ba(BF4)(PF6) crystallizes in a hexagonal space group with a=10.2251(4) Å, c=6.1535(4) Å, V=557.17(5) Å3 at 200 K, and Z=3. Both crystallographically independent Ba atoms possess coordination polyhedra in the shape of tri-capped trigonal prisms, which include F atoms from BF4 and PF6 anions. In the analogous system with AsF5 instead of PF5 the compound Ba(BF4)(AsF6) was isolated and characterized. It crystallizes in an orthorhombic Pnma space group with a=10.415(2) Å, b=6.325(3) Å, c=11.8297(17) Å, V=779.3(4) Å3 at 200 K, and Z=4. The coordination around Ba atom is in the shape of slightly distorted tri-capped trigonal prism which includes five F atoms from AsF6 and four F atoms from BF4 anions. When the system BaF2/BF3/AsF5/aHF is made basic with an extra addition of BaF2, the compound Ba2(BF4)2(AsF6)(H3F4) was obtained. It crystallizes in a hexagonal P63/mmc space group with a=6.8709(9) Å, c=17.327(8) Å, V=708.4(4) Å3 at 200 K, and Z=2. The barium environment in the shape of tetra-capped distorted trigonal prism involves 10 F atoms from four BF4, three AsF6 and three H3F4 anions. All F atoms, except the central atom in H3F4 moiety, act as μ2-bridges yielding a complex 3-D structural network.  相似文献

Two new compounds, La3Ru8B6 and Y3Os8B6, were synthesized by arc melting the elements. Their structural characterization was carried out at room temperature on as-cast samples by using X-ray diffractometry. According to X-ray single-crystal diffraction results these borides crystallize in Fmmm space group (no. 69), Z=4, a=5.5607(1) Å, b=9.8035(3) Å, c=17.5524(4) Å, ρ=8.956 Mg/m3, μ=25.23 mm−1 for La3Ru8B6 and a=5.4792(2) Å, b=9.5139(4) Å, c=17.6972(8) Å, ρ=13.343 Mg/m3, μ=128.23 mm−1 for Y3Os8B6. The crystal structure of La3Ru8B6 was confirmed from Rietveld refinement of X-ray powder diffraction data. Both La3Ru8B6 and Y3Os8B6 compounds are isotypic with the Ca3Rh8B6 compound and their structures are built up from CeCo3B2-type and CeAl2Ga2-type structural fragments taken in ratio 2:1. They are the members of structural series R(A)nM3n−1B2n with n=3 (R is the rare earth metal, A the alkaline earth metal, and M the transition metal). Structural and atomic parameters were also obtained for La0.94Ru3B2 compound from Rietveld refinement (CeCo3B2-type structure, P6/mmm space group (no. 191), a=5.5835(9) Å, c=3.0278(6) Å).  相似文献
