In this paper we prove that, under certain conditions, Nicodemi extensions of compact multilinear operators between Banach spaces are compact as well. An application of this result to the isometric/isomorphic theory of spaces of compact multilinear operators is provided.  相似文献

It is proved that a necessary condition for conservative axiomatic extensions of the infinite-valued (or n-valued) Lukasiewicz logic to possess the Beth definability property consists in the presence in the language of these extensions of a countable set (resp. a set of power n) of constant terms nonequivalent with respect to the given extensions.  相似文献

Some types of extensions of skew fields are now known: Galois quadratic extensions ([7]), cyclic extensions ([1]), general quadratic extensions ([4]), binomial extensions ([5]). All these extensions belong to the class of pseudolinear extensions ([8]). A new class of extensions, the so-called «hexaphic extensions», which extends the class of pseudo-linear extensions, will be studied in the other papers in future. For this study, we introduce in this paper skew polynomials rings in two variables over a ring, which extend the well-known skew polynomial rings in one variable (pseudolinear) first studied by O. Ore ([10]).  相似文献

Some recent results of Ayache on going-down domains and extensions of domains that either are residually algebraic or have DCC on intermediate rings are generalized to the context of extensions of commutative rings. Given a finite maximal chain 𝒞 of R-subalgebras of a weak Baer ring T, it is shown how a “min morphism” hypothesis can be used to transfer the “going-down ring” property from R to each member of 𝒞. The integral minimal ring extensions which are min morphisms are classified. The ring extensions satisfying FCP (i.e., for which each chain of intermediate rings is finite) are characterized as the strongly affine extensions with DCC on intermediate rings. In the relatively integrally closed case, such extensions R ? T induce open immersions Spec(S) → Spec(R) for each R-subalgebra S of T.  相似文献

This paper suggests several methods for constructing two-scaled extensions for arbitrary rapidly oscillating functions. Special attention is paid to the continuity (smoothness) of extensions. The author discusses the scheme of applications of extensions to homogenization problems in non-periodic perforated domains and describes the difficulties arising in this case. We develop a general study of ergodic properties of extensions of measure preserving dynamical systems. These extensions are given by cocycles (called here Rokhlin cocycles) taking values in the group of automorphisms of a measure space which represents the fibers. We use two different approaches in order to study ergodic properties of such extensions. The first approach is based on properties of mildly mixing group actions and the notion of complementary algebra. The second approach is based on spectral theory of unitary representations of locally compact Abelian groups and the theory of cocycles taking values in such groups. Finally, we examine the structure of self-joinings of extensions. We partially answer a question of Rudolph on lifting mixing (and multiple mixing) property to extensions and answer negatively a question of Robinson on lifting Bernoulli property. We also shed new light on some earlier results of Glasner and Weiss on the class of automorphisms disjoint from all weakly mixing transformations. Answering a question asked by Thouvenot we establish a relative version of the Foiaş—Stratila theorem on Gaussian—Kronecker dynamical systems. We define nonassociative cyclic extensions of degree m of both fields and central simple algebras over fields. If a suitable field contains a primitive mth (resp., qth) root of unity, we show that suitable nonassociative generalized cyclic division algebras yield nonassociative cyclic extensions of degree m (resp., qs). Some of Amitsur's classical results on non-commutative associative cyclic extensions of both fields and central simple algebras are obtained as special cases.  相似文献

It is shown by concrete examples that in the case of Hermitian (not densely defined) operators their self-adjoint bound-preserving extensions exist not always. A sufficient condition for the existence of such extensions is established.Translated from Dinamicheskie Sistemy, No. 4, pp. 120–125, 1985.  相似文献

We discuss bijections that relate families of chains in lattices associated to an order P and families of interval orders defined on the ground set of P. Two bijections of this type have been known:(1) The bijection between maximal chains in the antichain lattice A(P) and the linear extensions of P.(2) The bijection between maximal chains in the lattice of maximal antichains AM(P) and minimal interval extensions of P.We discuss two approaches to associate interval orders with chains in A(P). This leads to new bijections generalizing Bijections 1 and 2. As a consequence, we characterize the chains corresponding to weak-order extensions and minimal weak-order extensions of P.Seeking for a way of representing interval reductions of P by chains we came upon the separation lattice S(P). Chains in this lattice encode an interesting subclass of interval reductions of P. Let SM(P) be the lattice of maximal separations in the separation lattice. Restricted to maximal separations, the above bijection specializes to a bijection which nicely complements 1 and 2.(3) A bijection between maximal chains in the lattice of maximal separations SM(P) and minimal interval reductions of P.  相似文献

One of the most important results of Chevalley's extension theorem states that every valuation domain has at least one extension to every extension field of its quotient field. We state a generalization of this result for Prüfer domains with any finite number of maximal ideals. Then we investigate extensions of semilocal Prüfer domains in algebraic field extensions. In particular, we find an upper bound for the cardinality of extensions of a semilocal Prüfer domain. Moreover, we show that any two extensions of a semilocal Prüfer domain are incomparable (by inclusion) in an algebraic extension of fields.  相似文献

We study monotone linear extensions of dynamical systems. The problem of the existence of invariant manifolds and exponential separation is investigated for linear extensions that preserve the order structure. We also study the relationship between the monotonicity of linear extensions and the existence (weak regularity, quasiregularity) of bounded solutions of inhomogeneous linear extensions.  相似文献

We study central extensions of the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_n(A)$ when A is a ?/2?-graded superalgebra over a commutative ring K. Steinberg Lie superalgebras and their central extensions play an essential role. We use a ?/2?-graded version of cyclic homology to study the center of the extensions in question.  相似文献

We define a convex extension of a lower semi-continuous function to be a convex function that is identical to the given function over a pre-specified subset of its domain. Convex extensions are not necessarily constructible or unique. We identify conditions under which a convex extension can be constructed. When multiple convex extensions exist, we characterize the tightest convex extension in a well-defined sense. Using the notion of a generating set, we establish conditions under which the tightest convex extension is the convex envelope. Then, we employ convex extensions to develop a constructive technique for deriving convex envelopes of nonlinear functions. Finally, using the theory of convex extensions we characterize the precise gaps exhibited by various underestimators of $x/y$ over a rectangle and prove that the extensions theory provides convex relaxations that are much tighter than the relaxation provided by the classical outer-linearization of bilinear terms. It is proved that if G and V are abelian groups, then the group Ext(G, V) of all abelian extensions of the group V with the aid of the group G is extracted by the direct component in the group Opext(G, V) of all central extensions of V with the aid of G.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 6, No. 2, pp. 197–200, August, 1969.  相似文献

Starting from a locally convex metrisable topological space and from any asymptotic scale, we construct a generalized extension of this space. To those extensions, we associate Hausdorff topologies. We introduce the notion of a temperate map, with respect to a given asymptotic scale, between two locally convex metrisable semi-normed spaces. We show that such mappings extend in a canonical way to mappings between the respective generalized extensions. We give an application to nonlinear Dirichlet boundary value problems with singular data in the framework of generalized extensions. The extension problem of semibounded symmetric operators and symmetric operators with a gap is studied in detail. Using a suitable representation (Krein model) for the inverses of those operators a parameterization of their symmetric and self-adjoint extensions is introduced which improves Krein's famous extension theory. In particular, the parameterization clearly shows which self-adjoint extensions in the gap case correspond to Friedrichs and v. Neumann or Krein extensions in the semibounded case. Moreover, special properties of the extensions as the exactness of the gap are characterized in terms of the parameters.  相似文献

Peters and Pennings introduced and studied in [9] and [11] a kind of extensions of dynamical systems induced by certain C*-algebras, which they calltame extensions. In this paper we study the behaviour of metrizable tame extensions when some of the most important dynamical concepts related to the metric (such as sources, sinks, saddles, the shadowing property and distallity) are considered. We will confirm that these extensions can be troublesome in this context. We show, however, that sources and sinks are preserved under certain conditions. Entrata in Redazione il 24 febbraio 1997.
