Measurements of the total and differential cross sections dσ/dp(T)(B) and dσ/dy(B) for B(+) mesons produced in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=7 TeV are presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.8 pb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment operating at the LHC. The exclusive decay B(+)→J/ψK(+), with J/ψ→μ(+)μ(-), is used to detect B(+) mesons and to measure the production cross section as a function of p(T)(B) and y(B). The total cross section for p(T)(B)>5 GeV and |y(B)|<2.4 is measured to be 28.1±2.4±2.0±3.1 μb, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the last is from the luminosity measurement.  相似文献

Azimuthal decorrelations between the two central jets with the largest transverse momenta are sensitive to the dynamics of events with multiple jets. We present a measurement of the normalized differential cross section based on the full data set (∫Ldt=36 pb(-1)) acquired by the ATLAS detector during the 2010 sqrt(s)=7 TeV proton-proton run of the LHC. The measured distributions include jets with transverse momenta up to 1.3 TeV, probing perturbative QCD in a high-energy regime.  相似文献

A search for a narrow Higgs boson resonance in the diphoton mass spectrum is presented based on data corresponding to 7.0 fb{-1} of integrated luminosity from pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected by the CDF experiment. No evidence of such a resonance is observed, and upper limits are set on the cross section times branching ratio of the resonant state as a function of Higgs boson mass. The limits are interpreted in the context of the standard model and one fermiophobic benchmark model where the data exclude fermiophobic Higgs bosons with masses below 114 GeV/c{2} at a 95% Bayesian credibility level.  相似文献

We present the first model independent search for three-jet hadronic resonances within multijet events in sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV pp collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron using the CDF II detector. Pair production of supersymmetric gluinos and squarks with hadronic R-parity violating decays is employed as an example of a new physics benchmark for this signature. Selection criteria based on the kinematic properties of an ensemble of jet combinations within each event help to extract signal from copious QCD background. No significant excess outside the top quark mass window is observed in data with an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb(-1). We place 95% confidence level limits on the production cross section σ(pp → XX')×BR(gg → 3 jet + 3 jet) where X, X' = g, q, or q, with q, q → g + jet, as a function of gluino mass, in the range of 77 GeV/c2 to 240 GeV/c2.  相似文献

The results of a search for pair production of the scalar partners of bottom quarks in 2.05 fb(-1) of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=7 TeV using the ATLAS experiment are reported. Scalar bottom quarks are searched for in events with large missing transverse momentum and two jets in the final state, where both jets are identified as originating from a bottom quark. In an R-parity conserving minimal supersymmetric scenario, assuming that the scalar bottom quark decays exclusively into a bottom quark and a neutralino, 95% confidence-level upper limits are obtained in the b(1) - χ(1)(0) mass plane such that for neutralino masses below 60 GeV scalar bottom masses up to 390 GeV are excluded.  相似文献

We measure the cross section and the difference in rapidities between photons and charged leptons for inclusive W(→lν) + γ production in eγ and μγ final states. Using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.2 fb(-1) collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, the measured cross section times branching fraction for the process pp → Wγ + X → lνγ + X and the distribution of the charge-signed photon-lepton rapidity difference are found to be in agreement with the standard model. These results provide the most stringent limits on anomalous WWγ couplings for data from hadron colliders: -0.4<Δκ(γ)<0.4 and -0.08<λ(γ)<0.07 at the 95% C.L.  相似文献

为了探索硼磷酸钠(Na_5[B_2P_3O_(13)],NBP)晶体可能具有的功能特性,发展适用不同光谱范围的硼磷酸盐材料,对其紫外-远红外光谱以及拉曼光谱进行了研究。实验测量了室温下NBP晶体在200~2 000 nm的紫外-可见-近红外透射和反射光谱、50~4 000 cm~(-1)远红外透射光谱以及拉曼光谱。首先根据光学常数间的关系,计算得到吸收系数、消光系数和折射率,并对计算得到的折射率采用Sellmeier方程进行拟合。然后分析由紫外到远红外的宽频透射光谱,最后对晶体的拉曼振动峰进行了指认。研究结果表明:在200~2 000 nm波长范围内最大吸收系数为3.1 cm~(-1),消光系数数量级为10~(-6),折射率在1.56~1.80之间,得到Sellmeier方程。在105~120 THz和150~375 THz频率范围内晶体透射率大于80%,在1.5~71 THz的声子吸收带的透射率几乎为零。晶体可作为某些波段的光学窗口材料或者特定波段的滤波器。  相似文献

The angular distributions of muons from Υ(1S,2S,3S) → μ+ μ- decays are measured using data from pp collisions at sqrt[s] = 1.96 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.7 fb(-1) and collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. This analysis is the first to report the full angular distributions as functions of transverse momentum p(T) for Υ mesons in both the Collins-Soper and s-channel helicity frames. This is also the first measurement of the spin alignment of Υ(3S) mesons. Within the kinematic range of Υ rapidity |y|<0.6 and p(T) up to 40 GeV/c, the angular distributions are found to be nearly isotropic.  相似文献

This study explores the suitability of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) films as a substrate for printing electrically conductive structures and multilayer electronic structures such as organic field effect transistors. Various MFC qualities were tested, including mechanically produced MFC, 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl-1-oxyl pre-treated MFC and carboxymethylated-MFC. The films differed significantly with respect to the surface structure. In addition, the carboxymethylated-MFC films were surface modified with hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) to reduce the water-wettability of the films, and thus, improve the print resolution of the inkjet-printed silver (Ag) nanoparticles. The Ag-particles (diameter?<?50?nm) were printed on the HMDS-modified films, which were mainly composed of nanofibrils with diameters <20?nm. The effect of surface roughness and surface chemical characteristics on the ink spreading and print resolution of the Ag-structures was explored. It was demonstrated that organic transistors operating at low voltages can be fabricated on nano-engineered MFC films.  相似文献

We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a Z boson in 4.2 fb(-1) of pp collisions, collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron at sqrt[s] =1 .96 TeV. Selected events contain one reconstructed Z → e+ e- or Z → μ+ μ- candidate and at least two jets, including at least one b-tagged jet. In the absence of an excess over the background expected from other standard model processes, limits on the ZH cross section multiplied by the branching ratios are set. The limit at M(H) = 115 GeV is a factor of 5.9 larger than the standard model prediction.  相似文献

An experiment to optimize an ultraviolet (UV)-vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) multiwave emitter using chlorine molecules and chlorides of heavy inert gases is reported. The emitting medium was an Ar-Kr-Cl2 or an Ar-Kr-Xe-Cl2 (HCl) mixture kept at a pressure ranging from 1 to 30 kPa. Excitation was effected by means of a transverse volume discharge with spark preionization. Emission spectra were examined. The dependences of the emission intensity on the total pressure of the medium, partial pressures of its components, charging voltage, and number of discharge pulses were studied. It is demonstrated that such a discharge emits simultaneously in the 308, 258, 236, 222, 175, and 160 nm bands due to the transitions XeCl(B-X), Cl2(D′-A′), XeCl(D-X), KrCl(B-X), ArCl(B-X), and H2(B-X), respectively. It was established that the respective intensities are close to each other if the partial pressures are as follows: P Ar=10–20 kPa; P Kr, Xe=0.4–0.6 kPa; P Cl2=0.2–0.4 kPa, P HCl=0.08 kPa, and P H2=0.5–1.0 kPa. It was found that the addition of H2 to the medium decreases the intensities of the excimer bands, increases the emission resource (to 104 pulses or higher), and expands the operating wavelength range. The last-named effect is due to Lyman H2 bands (at 158–161 nm).  相似文献

Vibrational spectrum of the ordered Pt(111)–( ?3 ×?3 ) \left( {\sqrt {3} \times \sqrt {3} } \right) R30°–K surface superstructure formed on the platinum surface with adsorption of 1/3 ML potassium is calculated with the use of the interatomic interaction potentials obtained in the strong bond approximation. Relaxation of the surface, dispersion of the surface phonons, local density of vibrational states, and polarization of phonon modes of adatoms and atoms of the substrate are discussed in the work. We report a study of the invariant mass distribution of jet pairs produced in association with a W boson using data collected with the CDF detector which correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.3 fb(-1). The observed distribution has an excess in the 120-160 GeV/c(2) mass range which is not described by current theoretical predictions within the statistical and systematic uncertainties. We report on a search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying into pairs of τ leptons in pp collisions produced by the Tevatron at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. The analyzed data sample was recorded by the CDFII detector and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 6.0 fb(-1). The search is performed in the final state with one τ decaying leptonically and the second one identified through its semihadronic decay. Since no significant excess is observed, a 95% credibility level upper limit on the production cross section times branching ratio to the ττ final state is set for hypothetical Higgs boson masses between 100 and 150 GeV/c2. For a Higgs boson of 120 GeV/c2 the observed (expected) limit is 14.6 (15.3) the predicted value.  相似文献

We report on the first measurement of the triangular v3, quadrangular v4, and pentagonal v5 charged particle flow in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt(s(NN)) = 2.76 TeV measured with the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. We show that the triangular flow can be described in terms of the initial spatial anisotropy and its fluctuations, which provides strong constraints on its origin. In the most central events, where the elliptic flow v2 and v3 have similar magnitude, a double peaked structure in the two-particle azimuthal correlations is observed, which is often interpreted as a Mach cone response to fast partons. We show that this structure can be naturally explained from the measured anisotropic flow Fourier coefficients.  相似文献

本文对R_(13)Fe_(74)Si_(13)(R=Ce,Pr,Nd,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Y)三元合金的结构和磁性进行了研究。结果表明,R_(13)Fe_(74)Si_(13)的主相为R_2(Fe_(0.85)Si_(0.15)_(17)赝二元金属间化合物,而不出现类似于R_2Fe_(14)B的三元金属间化合物。Si原子可能择优取代R_2Fe_(17)中的Fe原子(Th_2Zn_(17)中的9d位或Th_2Ni_(17)中的6g位)。R_(13)Fe_(74)Si_(13)的居里温度比相应的R_2Fe_(17)有所提高。观察了R_(13)Fe_(74)Si_(13)的饱和磁化强度以及室温下的各向异性。本文还从多晶样品磁矩变化模型,根据提拉样品法的低温测量结果,初步定性地分析了R_(13)Fe_(74)Si_(13)低温下磁结构的变化。  相似文献

The first survey of the carbon-13 NMR spectroscopy of the bis(amidinohydrazones) [‘bis(guanylhydrazones)’] of various glyoxals is reported. The compounds studied included the free base and the dihydrochloride of the investigational antileukemic drug methylglyoxal bis(amidinohydrazone) (MGBG) and the dihydrochloride of the parent compound glyoxal bis(amidinohydrazone), as well as the free bases of seven alkyl- and dialkylglyoxal analogs of these compounds. Spectra were assigned with the aid of off-resonance proton noise decoupled carbon-13 measurements. The results obtained strongly suggest that each of the compounds studied consisted of one of the three or four possible geometrical isomers only, or that (less probably) the isomerization of the compounds is rapid on the NMR time scale. Thus, the results are in line with previous proton NMR and X-ray crystallographic observations, and support the theory that the classical syntheses of the compounds tend to yield  相似文献

We report the first measurement of the parity-violating single-spin asymmetries for midrapidity decay positrons and electrons from W+ and W- boson production in longitudinally polarized proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s] = 500 GeV by the STAR experiment at RHIC. The measured asymmetries, A(L)(W+) = -0.27 ± 0.10(stat.) ± 0.02(syst.) ± 0.03(norm.) and A(L)(W-) = 0.14 ± 0.19(stat.) ± 0.02(syst.) ± 0.01(norm.), are consistent with theory predictions, which are large and of opposite sign. These predictions are based on polarized quark and antiquark distribution functions constrained by polarized deep-inelastic scattering measurements.  相似文献

A search for the rare decays B(s)(0) → μ+ μ- and B(0) → μ+ μ- is performed in pp collisions at sqrt[s] = 7 TeV, with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.14 fb(-1), collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. In both cases, the number of events observed after all selection requirements is consistent with expectations from background and standard-model signal predictions. The resulting upper limits on the branching fractions are B(B(s)(0) → μ+ μ-) < 1.9 × 10(-8) and B(B(0) → μ+ μ-)<4.6 × 10(-9), at 95% confidence level.  相似文献
