Nitrosyl complexes with {Ru-NO} (6) and {Ru-NO} (7) configurations have been isolated in the framework of [Ru(trpy)(L)(NO)] ( n+ ) [trpy = 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine, L = 2-phenylimidazo[4,5- f]1,10-phenanthroline] as the perchlorate salts [ 4](ClO 4) 3 and [ 4](ClO 4) 2, respectively. Single crystals of protonated material [ 4-H (+)](ClO 4) 4.2H 2O reveal a Ru-N-O bond angle of 176.1(7) degrees and triply bonded N-O with a 1.127(9) A bond length. Structures were also determined for precursor compounds of [ 4] (3+) in the form of [Ru(trpy)(L)(Cl)](ClO 4).4.5H 2O and [Ru(trpy)(L-H)(CH 3CN)](ClO 4) 3.H 2O. In agreement with largely NO centered reduction, a sizable shift in nu(NO) frequency was observed on moving from [ 4] (3+) (1953 cm (-1)) to [ 4] (2+) (1654 cm (-1)). The Ru (II)-NO* in isolated or electrogenerated [ 4] (2+) exhibits an EPR spectrum with g 1 = 2.020, g 2 = 1.995, and g 3 = 1.884 in CH 3CN at 110 K, reflecting partial metal contribution to the singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO); (14)N (NO) hyperfine splitting ( A 2 = 30 G) was also observed. The plot of nu(NO) versus E degrees ({RuNO} (6) --> {RuNO} (7)) for 12 analogous complexes [Ru(trpy)(L')(NO)] ( n+ ) exhibits a linear trend. The electrophilic Ru-NO (+) species [ 4] (3+) is transformed to the corresponding Ru-NO 2 (-) system in the presence of OH (-) with k = 2.02 x 10 (-4) s (-1) at 303 K. In the presence of a steady flow of dioxygen gas, the Ru (II)-NO* state in [ 4] (2+) oxidizes to [ 4] (3+) through an associatively activated pathway (Delta S++ = -190.4 J K (-1) M (-1)) with a rate constant ( k [s (-1)]) of 5.33 x 10 (-3). On irradiation with light (Xe lamp), the acetonitrile solution of paramagnetic [Ru(trpy)(L)(NO)] (2+) ([ 4] (2+)) undergoes facile photorelease of NO ( k NO = 2.0 x 10 (-1) min (-1) and t 1/2 approximately 3.5 min) with the concomitant formation of the solvate [Ru (II)(trpy)(L)(CH 3CN)] (2+) [ 2'] (2+). The photoreleased NO can be trapped as an Mb-NO adduct.  相似文献

The complex framework [Ru(tpy)(dpk)]2+ has been used to study the generation and reactivity of the nitrosyl complex [Ru(tpy)(dpk)(NO)]3+ ([4]3+). Stepwise conversion of the chloro complex [Ru(tpy)(dpk)(Cl)]+ ([1]+) via [Ru(tpy)(dpk)(CH3CN)]2+ ([2]2+) and the nitro compound [Ru(tpy)(dpk)(NO2)]+ ([3]+) yielded [4]3+; all four complexes were structurally characterized as perchlorates. Electrochemical oxidation and reduction was investigated as a function of the monodentate ligand as was the IR and UV-vis spectroscopic response (absorption/emission). The kinetics of the conversion [4]3+/[3]+ in aqueous environment were also studied. Two-step reduction of [4]3+ was monitored via EPR, UV-vis, and IR (nu(NO), nu(CO)) spectroelectrochemistry to confirm the {RuNO}7 configuration of [4]2+ and to exhibit a relatively intense band at 505 nm for [4]+, attributed to a ligand-to-ligand transition originating from bound NO-.  相似文献

A stable Ru(II)/Ru(III) mixed-valence state was observed in acetonitrile for the ruthenium binuclear complex bridged by dimercaptothiadiazolate (DeltaE(1/2) = 220 mV for Ru(2)(II,II)/Ru(2)(II,III) and Ru(2)(II,III)/Ru(2)(III,III) processes; K(com) = 5.3 x 10(3)). Upon protonation of the bridging ligand by the addition of equimolar p-toluenesulfonic acid, however, the mixed-valence state diminished (DeltaE(1/2) = 0 mV). The bridging ligand operates as a proton-induced switch of the electronic communication in the dimeric complex.  相似文献

The present work deals with the isomeric complexes of the molecular composition [Ru(II)(trpy)(L)Cl] in 1 and 2 (trpy = 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine, L = deprotonated form of quinaldic acid, HL). Isomeric identities of 1 and 2 have been established by their single-crystal X-ray structures, which reveal that under the meridional configuration of trpy, O(-) and N donors of the unsymmetrical L are in trans, cis and cis, trans configurations, respectively, with respect to the Ru-Cl bond. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibit appreciable differences in bond distances involving Ru-Cl and Ru-O1/Ru-N1 associated with L on the basis of their isomeric structural features. In relation to isomer 2, the isomeric complex 1 exhibits a slightly lower Ru(II)-Ru(III) oxidation potential [0.35 (1), 0.38 (2) V versus SCE in CH(3)CN] as well as lower energy MLCT transitions [559 nm and 417 nm (1) and 533 nm and 378 nm (2)]. This has also been reflected in the DFT calculation where a lower HOMO-LUMO gap of 2.59 eV in 1 compared to 2.71 eV in 2 is found. The isomeric structural effect in 1 and 2 has also been prominent in their (1)H NMR spectral profiles. The relatively longer Ru-Cl bond in 1 (2.408(2) ?) as compared to 2 (2.3813(9) ?) due to the trans effect of the anionic O(-) of coordinated L makes it labile, which in turn facilitates the transformation of [Ru(II)(trpy)(L)(Cl)] (1) to the solvate species, [Ru(II)(trpy)(L)(CH(3)CN)](Cl) (1a) while crystallizing 1 from the coordinating CH(3)CN solvent. The formation of 1a has been authenticated by its single-crystal X-ray structure. However, no such exchange of "Cl(-)" by the solvent molecule occurs in 2 during the crystallization process from the coordinating CH(3)CN solvent. The labile Ru-Cl bond in 1 makes it a much superior precatalyst for the epoxidation of alkene functionalities. Compound 1 is found to function as an excellent precatalyst for the epoxidation of a wide variety of alkene functionalities under environmentally benign conditions using H(2)O(2) as an oxidant and EtOH as a solvent, while isomer 2 remains almost ineffective under identical reaction conditions. The remarkable differences in catalytic performances of 1 and 2 based on their isomeric structural aspects have been addressed.  相似文献

This paper focuses on DNA-binding interactions exhibited by Pt(dma-T)CN(+), where dma-T denotes 4'-dimethylamino-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine, and includes complementary studies of the corresponding pyrr-T complex, where pyrr-T denotes 4'-(N-pyrrolidinyl)-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine. The chromophores are useful for understanding the interesting and rather intricate DNA-binding interactions exhibited by these and related systems. One reason is that the terpyridine ligands employed provide intense visible absorption and enhanced photoluminescence signals. Incorporating cyanide as a coligand further aids analysis by suppressing covalent binding. Physical methods utilized include X-ray crystallography for structures of the individual inorganic complexes. Viscometry as well as spectral studies of the absorbance, emission, and circular dichroism (CD) yield information about interactions with a variety of DNA hosts. Although there is no sign of covalent binding under the conditions used, most hosts exhibit two phases of uptake. Under conditions of high loading (low base-pair-to-platinum ratios), the dma-T complex preferentially binds externally and aggregates on the surface of the host, except for the comparatively rigid host [poly(dG-dC)]2. Characteristic signs of the aggregated form include a bisignate CD signal in the charge-transfer region of the spectrum and strongly bathochromically shifted emission. When excess DNA is present, however, the complex shifts to intercalative binding, preferentially next to G[triple bond]C base pairs if available. Once the complex internalizes into DNA it becomes virtually immune to quenching by O2 or solvent, and the emission lifetime extends to 11 micros when [poly(dI-dC)]2 is the host. On the other hand, the host itself becomes a potent quenching agent when G[triple bond]C base pairs are present because of the reducing strength of guanine residues.  相似文献

Two new copper(II) compounds of chloranilate and 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine have been synthesized, and the structures have been solved by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. The crystal structure of [[Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)][Cu(CA)(2)]](n)(1), where H(2)CA = chloranilic acid and terpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine, consists of two modules, the dimer unit [Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)](2+) and the anionic mononuclear unit [Cu(CA)(2)](2)(-), forming an alternated chain. The chain is stabilized by semicoordinating and additional but efficient secondary bonding interactions. The crystal structure of [[Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)(dmso)(2)][Cu(CA)(2)(dmso)(2)](EtOH)](n)(2), where dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide, consists of solvent molecules and two discrete modules, the dimer unit [Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)(dmso)(2)](2+) and the anionic mononuclear unit [Cu(CA)(2)(dmso)(2)](2)(-). The dimer units form a layer by secondary bonding interactions, and the monomer units and ethanol molecules are introduced between the layers. The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 have been investigated in the temperature range 2.0-300 K. A weak ferromagnetic interaction was observed in 1, J(a) = 2.36 cm(-)(1) and zJ(b) = -0.68 cm(-)(1) while no exchange coupling was observed in 2.  相似文献

N-(2-Pyridylmethyl)pyridine-2-methylketimine (L1) was synthesized from equimolar quantities of (2-pyridyl)methylamine and 2-acetylpyridine. Methanolic solution of L1 reacted readily with Cu(NO3)2.3H2O in air, affording green solid of composition {[Cu(L2)(OH)(NO3)][Cu(L2)(NO3)2]}.2H2O, where L2 is 4'-(2-pyridyl)-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine. Oxidation of the active methylene group of L1 to an imide and then condensation with 2-acetylpyridine involving a C-C bond-forming reaction, mediated by a Cu2+ ion, are the essential steps involved in the conversion of L1 to L2. L2 is isolated by extrusion of Cu2+ with EDTA(2-). The copper center in [Cu(L2)(OH)(NO3)] has a mer-N3O3 environment, and that in [Cu(L2)(NO3)2] has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Two H2O molecules held by C-H...O interactions are present in the predominantly hydrophobic channels of approximate cavity dimension 7.60 x 6.50 A created by aromatic rings through pi-pi interactions.  相似文献

In aqueous solutions under mild conditions, [Ru(H(2)O)(6)](2+) was reacted with various water-soluble tertiary phosphines. As determined by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, reactions with the sulfonated arylphosphines L =mtppms, ptppms and mtppts yielded only the mono- and bisphosphine complexes, [Ru(H(2)O)(5)L](2+), cis-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)L(2)](2+), and trans-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)L(2)](2+) even in a high ligand excess. With the small aliphatic phosphine L = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo-[3.3.1.1(3,7)]decane (pta) at [L]:[Ru]= 12:1, the tris- and tetrakisphosphino species, [Ru(H(2)O)(3)(pta)(3)](2+), [Ru(H(2)O)(2)(pta)(4)](2+), [Ru(H(2)O)(OH)(pta)(4)](+), and [Ru(OH)(2)(pta)(4)] were also detected, albeit in minor quantities. These results have significance for the in situ preparation of Ru(II)-tertiary phosphine catalysts. The structures of the complexes trans-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)(ptaMe)(2)](tos)(4)x2H(2)O, trans-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)(ptaH)(2)](tos)(4)[middle dot]2H(2)O, and trans-mer-[RuI(2)(H(2)O)(ptaMe)(3)]I(3)x2H(2)O, containing protonated or methylated pta ligands (ptaH and ptaMe, respectively) were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The salts [(eta-C(5)Me(5))Ru(NO)(bipy)][OTf](2) (1[OTf](2)) and [(eta-C(5)Me(5))Ru(NO)(dppz)][OTf](2) (2[OTf](2)) are obtained from the treatment of (eta-C(5)Me(5))Ru(NO)(OTf)(2) with 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy) or dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine (dppz) (OTf = OSO(2)CF(3)). X-ray data for 1[OTf](2): monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, a = 11.553 (4) ?, b = 16.517 (5) ?, c = 14.719 (4) ?, beta = 94.01 (2) degrees, V = 2802 (2) ?(3), Z = 4, R1 = 0.0698. X-ray data for 2[OTf](2): monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, a = 8.911 (2) ?, b = 30.516 (5) ?, c = 24.622 (4) ?, beta = 99.02 (1) degrees, V = 6613 (2) ?(3), Z = 8, R1 = 0.0789. Both 1[OTf](2) and 2[OTf](2) are soluble in water where they exhibit irreversible electrochemical oxidation and reduction. A fluorescence-monitored titration of a DNA solution containing 2[OTf](2) with ethidium bromide provides evidence that 2(2+) intercalates into DNA with a binding constant greater than 10(6) M(-)(1). DNA cleavage occurs when the DNA solutions containing 2[OTf](2) are photolyzed or treated with H(2)O(2) or K(2)S(2)O(8).  相似文献

A series of new tridentate polypyridine ligands, made of terpyridine chelating subunits connected to various substituted 2-pyrimidinyl groups, and their homoleptic and heteroleptic Ru(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized. The new metal complexes have general formulas [(R-pm-tpy)Ru(tpy)]2+ and [Ru(tpy-pm-R)2]2+ (tpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine; R-pm-tpy = 4'-(2-pyrimidinyl)-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine with R = H, methyl, phenyl, perfluorophenyl, chloride, and cyanide). Two of the new metal complexes have also been characterized by X-ray analysis. In all the R-pm-tpy ligands, the pyrimidinyl and terpyridyl groups are coplanar, allowing an extended delocalization of acceptor orbital of the metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) excited state. The absorption spectra, redox behavior, and luminescence properties of the new Ru(II) complexes have been investigated. In particular, the photophysical properties of these species are significantly better compared to those of [Ru(tpy)2]2+ and well comparable with those of the best emitters of Ru(II) polypyridine family containing tridentate ligands. Reasons for the improved photophysical properties lie at the same time in an enhanced MLCT-MC (MC = metal centered) energy gap and in a reduced difference between the minima of the excited and ground states potential energy surfaces. The enhanced MLCT-MC energy gap leads to diminished efficiency of the thermally activated pathway for the radiationless process, whereas the similarity in ground and excited-state geometries causes reduced Franck Condon factors for the direct radiationless decay from the MLCT state to the ground state of the new complexes in comparison with [Ru(tpy)2]2+ and similar species.  相似文献

The complex [(terpy)(H(2)O)Mn(III)(O)(2)Mn(IV)(OH(2))(terpy)](NO(3))(3) (terpy = 2,2':6,2' '-terpyridine) (1)catalyzes O(2) evolution from either KHSO(5) (potassium oxone) or NaOCl. The reactions follow Michaelis-Menten kinetics where V(max) = 2420 +/- 490 mol O(2) (mol 1)(-1) hr(-1) and K(M) = 53 +/- 5 mM for oxone ([1] = 7.5 microM), and V(max) = 6.5 +/- 0.3 mol O(2) (mol 1)(-1) hr(-1) and K(M) = 39 +/- 4 mM for hypochlorite ([1] = 70 microM), with first-order kinetics observed in 1 for both oxidants. A mechanism is proposed having a preequilibrium between 1 and HSO(5-) or OCl(-), supported by the isolation and structural characterization of [(terpy)(SO(4))Mn(IV)(O)(2)Mn(IV)(O(4)S)(terpy)] (2). Isotope-labeling studies using H(2)(18)O and KHS(16)O(5) show that O(2) evolution proceeds via an intermediate that can exchange with water, where Raman spectroscopy has been used to confirm that the active oxygen of HSO(5-) is nonexchanging (t(1/2) > 1 h). The amount of label incorporated into O(2) is dependent on the relative concentrations of oxone and 1. (32)O(2):(34)O(2):(36)O(2) is 91.9 +/- 0.3:7.6 +/- 0.3:0.51 +/- 0.48, when [HSO(5-)] = 50 mM (0.5 mM 1), and 49 +/- 21:39 +/- 15:12 +/- 6 when [HSO(5-)] = 15 mM (0.75 mM 1). The rate-limiting step of O(2) evolution is proposed to be formation of a formally Mn(V)=O moiety which could then competitively react with either oxone or water/hydroxide to produce O(2). These results show that 1 serves as a functional model for photosynthetic water oxidation.  相似文献

The structures and related properties of the complex [Ru(phen)2(6-OH-dppz)]2+ (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; dppz = dipyrido [3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine) in the ground state (S0), the first singlet excited state (S1), and the first triplet excited state (T1) have been studied using density functional theory (DFT), time-dependent (TD) DFT, Hartree-Fock (HF), and configuration interaction singles (CIS) methods. Three electronic absorption-spectral bands (1MLCT, 1LL, and 1LL) lying in the range of 250-550 nm in vacuo and in aqueous solution were theoretically calculated, simulated, and assigned with TDDFT method. In particular, the theoretical results show the following: (1) The positive charges of central Ru atom in the excited states (S1 and T1) are greatly increased relative to those in the ground state (S0), and thus the Ru atom in the excited states can be regarded as Ru(III). (2) The positive charges on the main ligand (6-OH-dppz) in the excited states are considerably reduced, and thus the interaction between the main ligand (intercalative ligand) and DNA base pairs is considerably weakened. (3) The geometric structures in excited states are also distorted, resulting in obvious increase in the coordination bond length. It is advantageous to the complex forming a high oxidizing center (i.e., Ru(III) ion). On the basis of these results, a theoretical explanation on photoinduced oxidation reduction mechanism of DNA photocleavage by [Ru(phen)2(6-OH-dppz)](2+) has been presented.  相似文献

A series of complexes of the type K(2)[Ru(NN)(CN)(4)] has been prepared, in which NN is a diimine ligand, and were investigated for both their structural and photophysical properties. The ligands used (and the abbreviations for the resulting complexes) are 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole (Ru-pypz), 2,2'-bipyrimidine (Ru-bpym), 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (Ru-dmb), 1-ethyl-2-(2-pyridyl)benzimidazole (Ru-pbe), bidentate 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine (Ru-tpy). The known complexes with = 2,2'-bipyridine (Ru-bpy) and 1,10-phenathroline (Ru-phen) were also included in this work. A series of crystallographic studies showed that the [Ru(NN)(CN)(4)](2-) complex anions form a range of elaborate coordination networks when crystallised with either K(+) or Ln(3+) cations. The K(+) salts are characterised by a combination of near-linear Ru-CN-K bridges, with the cyanides coordinating to K(+) in the usual 'end-on' mode, and unusual side-on pi-type coordination of cyanide ligands to K(+) ions. With Ln(3+) cations in contrast only Ru-CN-Ln near-linear bridges occurred, affording 1-dimensional helical or diamondoid chains, and 2-dimensional sheets constituted from linked metallamacrocyclic rings. All of the K(2)[Ru(CN)(4)] complexes show a reversible Ru(II)/Ru(III) couple (ca.+0.9 V vs. Ag/AgCl in water), the exception being Ru-tpy whose oxidation is completely irreversible. Luminescence studies in water showed the presence of (3)MLCT-based emission in all cases apart from Ru-bpym with lifetimes of tens/hundreds of nanoseconds. Time-resolved infrared studies showed that in the (3)MLCT excited state the principal C-N stretching vibration shifts to positive energy by ca. 50 cm(-1) as a consequence of the transient oxidation of the metal centre to Ru(III) and the reduction in back-bonding to the cyanide ligands; measurement of transient decay rates allowed measurements of (3)MLCT lifetimes for those complexes which could not be characterised by luminescence spectroscopy. A few complexes were also examined in different solvents (MeCN, dmf) and showed much weaker emission and shorter excited-state lifetimes in these solvents compared to water.  相似文献

The neutral complex [Ru(2)(acac)(4)(bptz)] (I) has been prepared by the reaction of Ru(acac)(2)(CH(3)CN)(2) with bptz (bptz = 3,6-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine) in acetone. The diruthenium(II,II) complex (I) is green and exhibits an intense metal-ligand charge-transfer band at 700 nm. Complex I is diamagnetic and has been characterized by NMR, optical spectroscopy, IR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Crystal structure data for I are as follows: triclinic, P1, a = 11.709(2) A, b = 13.487(3) A, c = 15.151(3) A, alpha = 65.701(14) degrees, beta = 70.610(14) degrees, gamma = 75.50(2) degrees, V = 2038.8(6) A(3), Z = 2, R = 0.0610, for 4397 reflections with F(o) > 4sigmaF(o). Complex I shows reversible Ru(2)(II,II)-Ru(2)(II,III) and Ru(2)(II,III)-Ru(2)(III,III) couples at 0.17 and 0.97 V, respectively; the 800 mV separation indicates considerable stabilization of the mixed-valence species (K(com) > 10(13)). The diruthenium(II,III) complex, [Ru(2)(acac)(4)(bptz)](PF(6)) (II) is prepared quantitatively by one-electron oxidation of I with cerium(IV) ammonium nitrate in methanol followed by precipitation with NH(4)PF(6). Complex II is blue and shows an intense MLCT band at 575 nm and a weak band at 1220 nm in CHCl(3), which is assigned as the intervalence CT band. The mixed valence complex is paramagnetic, and an isotropic EPR signal at g = 2.17 is observed at 77 and 4 K. The solvent independence and narrowness of the 1200 nm band show that complex II is a Robin and Day class III mixed-valence complex.  相似文献

A series of ruthenium complexes [Ru(OAc)(dioxolene)(terpy)] having various substituents on the dioxolene ligand (dioxolene = 3,5-t-Bu2C6H2O2 (1), 4-t-BuC6H3O2 (2), 4-ClC6H3O2 (3), 3,5-Cl2C6H2O2 (4), Cl4C6O2 (5); terpy = 2,2':6'2' '-terpyridine) were prepared. EPR spectra of these complexes in glassy frozen solutions (CH2Cl2:MeOH = 95:5, v/v) at 20 K showed anisotropic signals with g tensor components 2.242 > g1 > 2.104, 2.097 > g2 > 2.042, and 1.951 > g3 > 1.846. An anisotropic value, Deltag = g1 - g3, and an isotropic g value, g = [(g1(2) + g2(2) + g3(2))/3]1/2, increase in the order 1 < 2 < 3 < 4 < 5. The resonance between the Ru(II)(sq) (sq = semiquinone) and Ru(III)(cat) (cat = catecholato) frameworks shifts to the latter with an increase of the number of electron-withdrawing substituents on the dioxolene ligand. DFT calculations of 1, 2, 3, and 5 also support the increase of the Ru spin density (Ru(III) character) with an increase of the number of Cl atoms on the dioxolene ligand. The singly occupied molecular orbitals (SOMOs) of 1 and 5 are very similar to each other and stretch out the Ru-dioxolene frameworks, whereas the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of 5 is localized on Ru and two oxygen atoms of dioxolene in comparison with that of 1. Electron-withdrawing groups decrease the energy levels of both the SOMO and LUMO. In other words, an increase in the number of Cl atoms in the dioxolene ligand results in an increase of the positive charge on Ru. Successive shifts in the electronic structure between the Ru(II)(sq) and Ru(III)(cat) frameworks caused by the variation of the substituents are compatible with the experimental data.  相似文献

The syntheses and properties of tetra- and pentanuclear vanadium(IV,V) carboxylate complexes are reported. Reaction of (NBzEt(3))(2)[VOCl(4)] (1a) with NaO(2)CPh and atmospheric H(2)O/O(2) in MeCN leads to formation of (NBzEt(3))(2)[V(5)O(9)Cl(O(2)CPh)(4)] 4a; a similar reaction employing (NEt(4))(2)[VOCl(4)] (1b) gives (NEt(4))(2)[V(5)O(9)Cl(O(2)CPh)(4)] (4b). Complex 4a.MeCN crystallizes in space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with the following unit cell dimensions at -148 degrees C: a = 13.863(13) ?, b = 34.009(43) ?, c = 12.773(11) ?, and Z = 4. The reaction between (NEt(4))(2)[VOBr(4)] (2a) and NaO(2)CPh under similar conditions gives (NEt(4))(2)[V(5)O(9)Br(O(2)CPh)(4)] (6a), and the use of (PPh(4))(2)[VOBr(4)] (2b) likewise gives (PPh(4))(2)[V(5)O(9)Br(O(2)CPh)(4)] (6b). Complex 6b crystallizes in space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with the following unit cell dimensions at -139 degrees C: a = 18.638(3) ?, b = 23.557(4) ?, c = 12.731(2) ?, and Z = 4. The anions of 4a and 6b consist of a V(5) square pyramid with each vertical face bridged by a &mgr;(3)-O(2)(-) ion, the basal face bridged by a &mgr;(4)-X(-) (X = Cl, Br) ion, and a terminal, multiply-bonded O(2)(-) ion on each metal. The RCO(2)(-) groups bridge each basal edge to give C(4)(v)() virtual symmetry. The apical and basal metals are V(V) and V(IV), respectively (i.e., the anions are trapped-valence). The reaction of 1b with AgNO(3) and Na(tca) (tca = thiophene-2-carboxylate) in MeCN under anaerobic conditions gives (NEt(4))(2)[V(4)O(8)(NO(3))(tca)(4)] (7). Complex 7.H(2)O crystallizes in space group C2/c with the following unit cell dimensions at -170 degrees C: a = 23.606(4) ?, b = 15.211(3) ?, c = 23.999(5) ?, and Z = 4. The anion of 7 is similar to those of 4a and 6b except that the apical [VO] unit is absent, leaving a V(4) square unit, and the &mgr;(4)-X(-) ion is replaced with a &mgr;(4),eta(1)-NO(3)(-) ion. The four metal centers are now at the V(IV), 3V(V) oxidation level, but the structure indicates four equivalent V centers, suggesting an electronically delocalized system. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility data were collected on powdered samples of 4b, 6a, and 7 in the 2.00-300 K range in a 10 kG applied field. 4b and 6a both show a slow increase in effective magnetic moment (&mgr;(eff)) from approximately 3.6-3.7 &mgr;(B) at 320 K to approximately 4.5-4.6 &mgr;(B) at 11.0 K and then a slight decrease to approximately 4.2 &mgr;(B) at 2.00 K. The data were fit to the theoretical expression for a V(IV)(4) square with two exchange parameters J = J(cis)() and J' = J(trans)() (H = -2JS(i)()S(j)()): fitting of the data gave, in the format 4b/6a, J= +39.7/+46.4 cm(-)(1), J' = -11.1/-18.2 cm(-)(1) and g = 1.83/1.90, with the complexes possessing S(T) = 2 ground states. The latter were confirmed by magnetization vs field studies in the 2.00-30.0 K and 0.500-50.0 kG ranges: fitting of the data gave S(T) = 2 and D = 0.00 cm(-)(1) for both complexes, where D is the axial zero-field splitting parameter. Complex 7 shows a nearly temperature-independent &mgr;(eff) (1.6-2.0 &mgr;(B)) consistent with a single d electron per V(4) unit. The (1)H NMR spectra of 4b and 6a in CD(3)CN are consistent with retention of their pentanuclear structure on dissolution. The EPR spectrum of 7 in a toluene/MeCN (1:2) solution at approximately 25 degrees C yields an isotropic signal with a 29-line hyperfine pattern assignable to hyperfine interactions with four equivalent I = (7)/(2) (51)V nuclei.  相似文献

[Ru(II)(terpy)(DMSO)Cl(2)] complexes were synthesized as a 5/1 mixture of cis and trans isomers, and their reactivities with CO and with substituted 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine (terpy) moieties have been investigated. The structure of a trans isomer and its CO adduct have been unambiguously assigned by spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The [Ru(terpy)(terpy-Br)](2+) complex prepared either from the cis-[Ru(II)(terpy)(DMSO)Cl(2)] or from the cis-[Ru(II)(terpy-Br)(DMSO)Cl(2)] precursor appeared to be reactive in cross-coupling reactions promoted by low-valent palladium(0) and is an attractive target for the stepwise synthesis of polynuclear complexes bearing vacant coordination sites (terpy-Br for 4'-bromo-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine). Several bipyridine, phenanthroline, and bipyrimidine complexes were prepared this way and their optical and redox properties determined and discussed.  相似文献

Voltammetric, photo-physical and photo-electrochemical properties of the Dawson polyoxometalate anions alpha-[S(2)M(18)O(62)](4-) (M = Mo, W) are presented, both in the presence and absence of a series of [Ru(II)L(n)](+/2+) cations [L(n) = (bpy)(3), (bpy)(2)(Im)(2), (bpy)(2)(dpq), (bpy)(2)(box) and (biq)(2)(box)]. Electrochemical processes for both the anion and Ru(II/III) couples were detected in solutions of the salts [Ru(II)L(n)](2)[S(2)M(18)O(62)] in dimethylformamide (0.1 M Bu(4)NPF(6)) by both cyclic and hydrodynamic voltammetries. Responses were also detected when the solid salts were adhered to the surface of a glassy carbon electrode in contact with an electrolyte in which they are insoluble (CH(3)CN; 0.1M Bu(4)NPF(6)). Photolysis experiments were performed on solutions of the salts [R(4)N](4)[S(2)M(18)O(62)] (R = n-butyl or n-hexyl) and [Ru(II)L(n)](2)[S(2)M(18)O(62)] at 355 and 420 nm in dimethylformamide and acetonitrile in the presence and absence of benzyl alcohol (10% v/v). When associated with [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+), the molybdate anion exhibited a large increase in the quantum yield for photo-reduction at 420 nm. The quantum yield for the tungstate analogue was lower but the experiments again provided clear evidence for sensitization of the photo-reduction reaction in the visible spectral region. The origin of this sensitization is ascribed to the new optical transition observed around 480 nm in static ion clusters {[Ru(bpy)(3)][S(2)M(18)O(62)]}(2-) and {[Ru(bpy)(3)](2)[S(2)M(18)O(62)]} present in solution. Measurable photocurrents resulted from irradiation of solutions of the anions with white light in the presence of the electron donor dimethylformamide. Evidence is also presented for possible quencher-fluorophore interactions in the presence of certain [Ru(II)L(n)](+) cations.  相似文献
