We analyze edge currents and edge bands at the surface of a time-reversal symmetry breaking dx2-y2 + id(xy) superconductor. We show that the currents have large Friedel oscillations with two interfering frequencies: square root of 2kF from subgap states, and 2kF from the continuum. The results are based independently on a self-consistent slave-boson mean-field theory for the t-J model on a triangular lattice, and on a T-matrix scattering theory calculation. The shape of the edge-state band, as well as the particular frequency square root of 2kF of the Friedel oscillations, are attributes unique for the dx2-y2 + id(xy) case, and may be used as a fingerprint for its identification. Extensions to different time-reversal symmetry breaking superconductors can be achieved within the same approach.  相似文献

The problem of dx2-y2-wave quasiparticles in a weakly disordered Abrikosov vortex lattice is studied. Starting with a periodic lattice, the topological structure of the magnetic crystal momenta of gapless fermions is found for the particle-hole symmetric case. If in addition the site centered inversion symmetry is present, both the location and the number of the gapless fermions can be determined using an index theorem. In the case of spatially aperiodic vortex array, Simon and Lee scaling is found to be violated due to a quantum anomaly. The electronic density of states is found to scale with the root-mean-square vortex displacement as sqrt[H]f(u2rms/xi2), while thermal conductivity is H independent, but different from the H=0 case.  相似文献

We report on an ab anisotropy of Jc parallel b/Jc parallel a approximately/= 1.8 IcRn parallelb/IcRn parallel a approximately/= 1.2 and in ramp-edge junctions between untwinned YBa2Cu3O7 and s-wave Nb. For these junctions, the angle theta with the YBa2Cu3O7 crystal b axis is varied as a single parameter. The RnA(theta) dependence presents twofold symmetry. The minima in IcRn at theta approximately/= 50 degrees suggest a real s-wave subdominant component and negligible d(xy)-wave or imaginary s-wave admixtures. The IcRn(theta) dependence is well fitted by 83% dx2-y2-, 15% isotropic s-, and 2% anisotropic s-wave order parameter symmetry, consistent with deltab/deltaa approximately/= 1.5.  相似文献

With the full BABAR data sample of 465 x 10(6) B(over)B pairs, we observe the decays B+/- -->phiK_(1)(1270) +/- and B +/- -->phiK*_(2)(1430)+/-. We measure the branching fractions (6.1+/-1.6+/-1.1) x 10(-6) and (8.4+/-1.8+/-1.0) x 10(-6) and the fractions of longitudinal polarization 0.46 (+0.12+0.06) _(-0.13-0.07) and 0.80(+0.09)_(-0.10)+/-0.03, respectively. We also report on the B+/- -->phiK*_(0)(1430)+/- decay branching fraction of (7.0+/-1.3+/-0.9) x 10(-6) and several parameters sensitive to CP violation and interference in the above three decays. Upper limits are placed on the B+/- decay rates to final states with phi and K_1(1400)+/-, K*(1410)+/-, K2(1770)+/-, or K_2(1820)+/-. Understanding the observed polarization pattern requires amplitude contributions from an uncertain source.  相似文献

We provide numerical evidence that a p(x)-ip(y) paired Bonderson-Slingerland (BS) non-Abelian hierarchy state is a strong candidate for the observed ν=12/5 quantum Hall plateau. We confirm the existence of a gapped incompressible ν=12/5 quantum Hall state with shift S=2 on the sphere, matching that of the BS state. The exact ground state of the Coulomb interaction at S=2 is shown to have a large overlap with the BS trial wave function. Larger overlaps are obtained with BS-type wave functions that are hierarchical descendants of general p(x)-ip(y) weakly paired states at ν=5/2. We perform a finite-size scaling analysis of the ground-state energies for ν=12/5 states at shifts corresponding to the BS (S=2) and 3-clustered Read-Rezayi (S=-2) universality classes. This analysis reveals very tight competition between these two non-Abelian topological orders.  相似文献

We performed a phase-sensitive test of the symmetry of the superconducting order parameter of the electron doped cuprate La(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-y) using a superconducting quantum interferometer with spatially distributed Josephson junctions. The studies were made on a thin film grown on a SrTiO3 tetracrystal substrate. The superconducting transition temperature was about 29 K which indicates that the sample is close to optimal doping. The magnetic field dependence of the critical current gives strong evidence for a predominant dx(2)(-y(2)) order parameter symmetry of the sample measured. It also gives upper limits for the s-wave component in a mixed order parameter of the type s+idx(2)(-y(2)).  相似文献

The character of the ground and optically excited states was investigated by quantum chemical calculations. We propose a rung ground state with V 3d(1)(xy)-O 2p(1)(y)-V 3d(1)(xy) character, instead of the conventional picture of one unpaired electron shared by 2 V ions. The unpaired electron on O is low-spin coupled to the V d electrons and spin density is predicted to be localized on vanadium. The absorption peak at 0.9 eV is assigned to a state with similar orbital occupations but a different spin coupling scheme, resulting in spin density localized on the bridging oxygen.  相似文献

We have directly observed well-separated Josephson vortex splinters with unquantized magnetic flux at asymmetric 45 degrees grain boundaries in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7-delta) films by imaging magnetic flux with scanning SQUID microscopy. The existence of these splinter vortices has been predicted and is well described by a model based on dx(2)(-y(2)) pairing symmetry and facetting of the grain boundary on a length scale shorter than the Josephson penetration depth.  相似文献

In order to probe the effect of charge fluctuations on triplet pairing, we study the pairing symmetry in the one-band Hubbard model having the off-site Coulomb repulsion (V) on top of the on-site repulsion as a model for the gamma band of Sr2RuO4, a strong candidate for a triplet pairing superconductor. The result, obtained with the dynamical cluster approximation combined with the quantum Monte Carlo method, and confirmed from the fluctuation exchange approximation, shows that while d(x(2)-y(2)) pairing dominates over p in the absence of V, introduction of V makes p(x+y) and d(xy) dominant. The gap function for the chiral p(x+y)+ip(x-y) has nodes that are consistent with the recent measurement of specific heat in rotated magnetic fields in the ruthenate. This suggests that the off-site repulsion may play an essential role in triplet superconductivity in this material.  相似文献

We study the single-vortex solution of the t-J model within resonating-valence-bond mean-field theory. We find two types of vortex cores, insulating and metallic, depending on the parameters of the model. The pairing order parameter near both cores have d(x(2)-y(2))+ietad(xy) symmetry. For some range of t/J the calculated tunneling spectrum of the metallic vortex core agrees qualitatively with the STM tunneling data for BSCCO.  相似文献

We study the effect of a single nonmagnetic impurity on the recently discovered (K,Tl)Fe(x)Se(2) superconductors, within both a toy two-band model and a more realistic five-band model. We find that, out of five types of pairing symmetry under consideration, only the d(x(2)-y(2))-wave pairing gives rise to impurity resonance states. The intragap states have energies far away from the Fermi energy. The existence of these intragap states is robust against the presence or absence of interband scattering. However, the interband scattering does tune the relative distribution of local density of states at the resonance states. All these features can readily be accessed by STM experiments, and are proposed as a means to test the pairing symmetry of the new superconductors.  相似文献

We have measured temperature-dependent magnetic Compton profiles (MCPs) from a single crystal of La1.2Sr1.8Mn2O7. The MCPs, which involved the scattering of circularly polarized x rays, are in general related to the momentum density of all the unpaired spins in the system. Nevertheless, we show that when the x-ray scattering vector lies along the [110] direction, the number of magnetic electrons of a specific symmetry, i.e., d electrons of x(2)-y(2) symmetry, yield a distinct signature in the MCP, allowing us to monitor substantial changes in the occupancy of the dx(2)(-y(2)) states over the investigated temperature range of 5-200 K. This study indicates that magnetic Compton scattering can provide a powerful window on the properties of specific magnetic electrons in complex materials.  相似文献

Thermal conductivity κ xx(T) under a field is investigated in d x2 - y2-wave superconductors and isotropic s-wave superconductors by the linear response theory, using a microscopic wave function of the vortex lattice states. To study the origin of the different field dependence of κxx(T) between higher and lower temperature regions, we analyze the spatially-resolved thermal conductivity around a vortex at each temperature, which is related to the spectrum of the local density of states. We report new measurements of the parity-violating asymmetry A(PV) in elastic scattering of 3 GeV electrons off hydrogen and 4He targets with approximately 6.0 degrees . The 4He result is A(PV)=(+6.40+/-0.23(stat)+/-0.12(syst))x10(-6). The hydrogen result is A(PV)=(-1.58+/-0.12(stat)+/-0.04(syst))x10(-6). These results significantly improve constraints on the electric and magnetic strange form factors G(E)(s) and G(M)(s). We extract G(E)(s)=0.002+/-0.014+/-0.007 at =0.077 GeV2, and G(E)(s)+0.09G(M)(s)=0.007+/-0.011+/-0.006 at =0.109 GeV2, providing new limits on the role of strange quarks in the nucleon charge and magnetization distributions.  相似文献

We report results of searches for charmless hadronic B meson decays to pseudoscalar( pi(+/-), K+/-, pi(0), or K(0)(S))-vector( rho, K(*), or omega) final states. By using 9.7x10(6) BB pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we report the first observation of B(-)--->pi(-)rho(0), B(0)-->pi(+/-)rho(-/+), and B(-)-->pi(-)omega, which are expected to be dominated by hadronic b-->u transitions. The measured branching fractions are (10.4(+3.3)(-3.4)+/-2.1)x10(-6), (27.6(+8.4)(-7.4)+/-4.2)x10(-6), and (11.3(+3.3)(-2.9)+/-1. 4)x10(-6), respectively. Branching fraction upper limits are set for all of the other decay modes investigated.  相似文献

The spin-orbit splitting of Lambda single-particle states in (13)(Lambda)C was measured. The 13C(K-,pi(-))(13)(Lambda)C reaction was used to excite both the 1/2(-) and 3/2(-) states simultaneously, which have predominantly 12C(0(+)) x p(Lambda) configuration. gamma rays from the states to the ground state were measured in coincidence with the pi(-)'s, by which ls splitting was found to be 152+/-54(stat)+/-36(syst) keV. The value is 20-30 times smaller than exhibited by the ls splitting in the nuclear shell model. This value gives us new insight into the YN interaction.  相似文献

A theory of the c-axis infrared conductivity of a dx^2-y^2- wave superconductor due to the competition between the interlayer direct hopping and the hopping assisted by the spin fluctuations has been developed.The prediction of our theory captures the main feature of the experiment.Thus we argue that the anomalous behavior of the c-axis infrared conductivity of the underdoped cuprates in superconducting state may be properly understood within the theory.  相似文献
