采用离散元方法模拟石英玻璃杆Taylor撞击问题,再现了其破坏过程:在撞击端,杆以压缩失效波的形式破坏;在自由端,出现了密集的拉伸层裂破坏. 分析表明:层裂是失效波阵面应力快速下降引起的追赶卸载波,与弹性压缩前驱波在自由端反射引起的迎面卸载波相互作用的结果;随着撞击速度的增大,撞击端失效波造成的压缩破坏区域损伤程度增大,反射端层裂破坏损伤区域减小. 进一步对失效波阵面的结构变化及其波速问题进行了研究,发现失效区域随着扩张变成一段裂纹逐渐由密到稀的区段,将此区段分为高损伤区和低损伤区,研究发现由稀疏微裂纹组成的低损伤区的前端面传播速度和弹性前驱波速基本相同,为固定值;而高损伤区前端面的裂纹密度随着传播距离的增加变稀,直至过渡为低损伤区,其传播具有显著的速度衰减、端面模糊直至停止的过程. 高损伤前端面的平均速度随着撞击速度的增大而增大,并逐渐趋近于弹性波速. 最后与已有实验做了对比,发现实验中高速摄影观察到的玻璃中"失效波"阵面实际上是高损伤前端面,而稀疏的低损伤微裂纹很难捕捉.   相似文献

In real application, once the pattern of fin is determined, fin spacing of tube bank fin heat exchanger can be adjusted in a small region, and air flow velocity in the front of the heat exchanger is not all the same. Therefore, the effects of fin spacing on heat transfer performance of such heat exchanger are needed. This paper numerically studied the optimal fin spacing regarding the different front flow velocities of a circular tube bank fin heat exchanger with vortex generators. To screen the optimal fin spacing, an appropriate evaluation criterion JF was used. The results show that when front velocity is 1.75 m/s, the optimal fin spacing is 2.25 mm, when front velocity is 2.5 m/s, the optimal fin spacing is 2 mm, and when front velocity is higher than 2.5 m/s, the optimal fin spacing is 1.75 mm.  相似文献

The evaporation front moving with a constant velocity through a high-temperature geothermal reservoir is investigated. The solution in the form of a traveling wave is represented. The existence of a thermodynamically consistent solution and the solution with superheating of water ahead of the phase transition front is demonstrated. A boundary separating two types of the solutions is found in the domain of constitutive parameters. Stability of the solutions obtained is investigated by means of the normal mode method. It is shown that the criterion of superheating of water ahead of the boiling front and the criterion of linear stability of the front do not coincide.  相似文献

Derived in this work are the Mode I stress intensity factor results for a constant velocity semi-infinite crack moving in a fluid-saturated porous medium with finite height. Two limiting cases are discussed; they correspond to a low and high speed crack propagation. To be expected is that the crack front stress intensification would increase as the medium height is reduced in relation to the segment length in which mechanical pressure is applied. Moreover, the stress intensity factor for the high speed crack is larger than the low speed crack, the magnification of which depends on the material. Dissatisfaction of the crack surface and tip boundary condition is found in the present solution which calls possibly for the additional consideration of a local boundary layer as discussed by other authors.  相似文献

Cracks driven by shrinkage due to cooling or drying arrange themselves via mutual interaction. For parallel straight crack arrays driven by idealized transient shrinkage fields the scaling behavior in an infinite half-space is derived analytically by means of fracture mechanics bifurcation analysis with two plausible scaling assumptions. Crack spacing in thermal shock crack patterns has been found to be approximately proportional to the crack length and inversely proportional to the crack velocity. The spacing of tunneling cracks formed in a drying layer between plates scales as the 2/3rd power of layer thickness as a consequence of the specific interaction between the tunneling cracks. The difference in scaling behavior in the two cases is explained by the dimensionality of the geometrical setup determined by the boundary condition rather than by different physical processes. In either case, good agreement between theory and experiments is found.  相似文献

为探究煤油液滴不同初始直径对气液两相旋转爆轰发动机流场的影响,假设初始注入的煤油液滴具有均匀直径,考虑雾化破碎、蒸发等过程,建立了非定常两相爆轰的Eulerian-Lagrangian模型,进行了液态煤油/高温空气爆轰的非预混二维数值模拟。结果表明:在初始液滴直径为1~70μm的工况范围,燃烧室内均形成了单个稳定传播的旋转爆轰波;全局当量比为1时,爆轰波前的空气区域大于液滴煤油的蒸气区域,导致波前燃料空气混合不均匀,波前均存在富油区和贫油区,两相速度差导致分离出的空气形成低温条带;当煤油液滴的初始直径较小时,波前的反应物混合过程主要受蒸发的影响,爆轰波可稳定传播;当直径减小至1μm时,煤油液滴在入口处即蒸发,旋转爆轰波表现为气相传播的特性,爆轰波结构平整;当煤油液滴的初始直径较大时,波前的反应物混合过程主要受液滴破碎的影响;对于相同的燃料质量流量,在不同初始煤油液滴直径工况下,煤油液滴最大的停留时间均占爆轰波传播时间尺度的80%以上;爆轰波前燃料预蒸发为气相的占比越高,爆轰波的传播速度越高;初始液滴直径为10~70μm的工况范围内,爆轰波的速度随初始直径的增大先升高后降低。  相似文献

Theoretical analysis of crack front instability in mode I+III   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper focusses on the theoretical prediction of the widely observed crack front instability in mode I+III, that causes both the crack surface and crack front to deviate from planar and straight shapes, respectively. This problem is addressed within the classical framework of fracture mechanics, where the crack front evolution is governed by conditions of constant energy-release-rate (Griffith criterion) and vanishing stress intensity factor of mode II (principle of local symmetry) along the front. The formulation of the linear stability problem for the evolution of small perturbations of the crack front exploits previous results of Movchan et al. (1998) (suitably extended) and Gao and Rice (1986), which are used to derive expressions for the variations of the stress intensity factors along the front resulting from both in-plane and out-of-plane perturbations. We find exact eigenmode solutions to this problem, which correspond to perturbations of the crack front that are shaped as elliptic helices with their axis coinciding with the unperturbed straight front and an amplitude exponentially growing or decaying along the propagation direction. Exponential growth corresponding to unstable propagation occurs when the ratio of the unperturbed mode III to mode I stress intensity factors exceeds some “threshold” depending on Poisson's ratio. Moreover, the growth rate of helical perturbations is inversely proportional to their wavelength along the front. This growth rate therefore diverges when this wavelength goes to zero, which emphasizes the need for some “regularization” of crack propagation laws at very short scales. This divergence also reveals an interesting similarity between crack front instability in mode I+III and well-known growth front instabilities of interfaces governed by a Laplacian or diffusion field.  相似文献

A shock wave in gas mixtures, whose composition ahead of the shock includes an inert light main component and two small chemically-interacting admixtures, is numerically modeled. The chemical reaction between the admixtures starts inside the shock front and results in the formation of two new components. A time-dependent statistical Monte Carlo simulation with variable weight factors is used. It is found that within the front the forward reaction rate coefficient exceeds the constant equilibrium value of the corresponding rate coefficient behind the shock by a factor of about 120 (the rate coefficient becomes constant as soon as the molecular velocity distribution is Maxwellian). The reaction is more intense in the translational nonequilibrium zone. It is shown that in the cases of an exothermal reaction and a weak endothermal reaction a very small portion of the light reaction product has the same velocity as the shock and is entrained by the shock front.A 30 % increase in the forward reaction threshold, all other factors being equal, leads to a more intense manifestation of these effects. Thus, within the front the forward reaction rate coefficient exceeds the constant equilibrium value of the corresponding reaction rate coefficient behind the shock by a factor of about 340.  相似文献

In this paper the dynamic behaviour of brittle materials subjected to high-rate loading is investigated. Taking the effect of damage into account, a direct, explicit and quantitative method is developed to determine the average fragment size generated by crack tension with a constant strain rate. The theoretical predictions of the fragment size are compared with the experimental data, and it is found that the predicted values agree reasonably well with the test results. Furthermore, the dependence of the throw velocity on the strain rate is discussed. The value of the throw velocity increases with the increment of the strain rate. Finally, the properties of the fragmentation in a single borehole blasting experiment are numerically simulated.  相似文献

CTOA and crack-tunneling measurements in thin sheet 2024-T3 aluminum alloy   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The stable tearing behavior of 2.3-mm thick sheets of 2024-T3 aluminum alloy was experimentally investigated for middle crack tension specimens having initial flaws that were: (a) flat fatigue cracks (low fatigue stress) and (b) 45-deg through-thickness slant cracks (high fatigue stress). The critical CTOA values during stable tearing were measured by two independent methods, optical microscopy and digital-image correlation. Results from the two methods agree well.The CTOA measurements and observations of the fracture surfaces have shown that the initial stable tearing behavior of low and high fatigue stress tests is significantly different. The cracks in the low fatigue stress tests underwent a transition from flat-to-slant crack growth, during which the CTOA values were high and significant crack tunneling occurred. After crack growth equal to about the thickness (a>B), CTOA reached a constant value of 6 deg and after crack growth equal to about twice the thickness (a>2B), crack tunneling stabilized. The cracks in the high fatigue stress tests reach the same constant CTOA value after crack growth equal to about the thickness, but produced only slightly higher CTOA values during initial crack growth. The amount of tunneling in the high fatigue stress tests was about the same as that in the low fatigue stress tests after the flat-to-slant transition.This study indicates that stress history has an influence on the initial portion of the stable tearing behavior. The initial high CTOA values, in the low fatigue crack tests, coincided with large three-dimensional crack front shape changes due to a variation in the through-thickness crack-tip constraint. The measured CTOA reached a constant value of 6 deg for crack growth of about the specimen thickness. This coincided with the onset of 45-deg slant crack growth and a stabilized, slightly tunneled (about 20 percent of the thickness) crack-front shape. For crack growth on the 45-deg slant, the crack front and local field variables are still highly three dimensional.  相似文献

A mathematical model for the precipitation of dissolved salts during groundwater evaporation is proposed. An asymptotic solution of the problem is obtained for a specified flow law. It is shown that there are two different regimes of solute precipitation which are determined by the evaporation front velocity and the groundwater flow rate. The dependence of the precipitated salt mass on the soil surface temperature, the atmospheric humidity, the initial solute concentration and the filtration rate is illustrated.  相似文献

This paper deals with the initiation and non-coplaner propagation ofcracks under biaxial compression.The running process of the propagating cracks issuccessfully recorded with the method of dynamic photoclasticity.A series of importantfracture parameters such as cracks' propagating velocity,critical opening loading andinitial angle of cracks' growth under hiaxial compression is calculated.Results showthat the stress field in front of the non-closed crack tip under biaxial compression is amixed-mode singular field,the dynamic propagation of the new tensile cracks is juststable and shows distinct stages,but the unstable crack appears under high loads andresults in the rupture of the matrix.  相似文献

The fatigue failure of a thin infinite center-cracked plate under completely reversed uniaxial loading is considered. A two-stage fatigue crack model including the incubation and crack propagation stages is constructed. The stress distribution in the vicinity of the crack tip is described using the concept of a conventional elastic crack. The crack-tip plastic zone is simulated by a Dugdale thin plastic zone, and the condition for the movement of the failure front is given by criteria of damage mechanics. It is shown that the fatigue crack growth rate in perfectly plastic materials with a plastic zone of constant length is a power-law function of the stress intensity factor range. The paper studies the extent of plastic relaxation around the tips of an infinite sequence of slitlike cracks contained in a large elastic solid. The cracks have a constant distance of vertical separation, and the solid is deforming under tensile loading (mode I). The plastic region around each of the crack tips coplanar with the crack itself is represented by a suitable distribution of edge dislocations, which is determined from equilibrium considerations. The latter lead to a singular integral equation which is solved numerically. The solution procedure is uniformly valid for any crack spacing. Furthermore, an alternate perturbation technique is used for widely spaced cracks. Solutions are obtained as a function of the crack spacing and the applied tensile load, and the results discussed from the point of fracture initiation at stresss concentrations.  相似文献

The evolution pattern of collinear crack array plays a very important role in the final failure pattern of rock and predicting earthquake. Crack interactions lead to the nonhomogeneous pseudo-traction, then result in bifurcation of crack growth pattern. Bifurcation condition of crack growth pattern can be expressed by the crack growth length/spacing ratio. For collinear cracks loaded by dynamic compressive loads, uniform crack growth pattern yields to non-uniform crack growth pattern when the crack growth length/spacing ratio is larger than a critical value. In this paper, crack interactions are studied using stress superposition principle and the Chebyshev polynomials expansion of the pseudo-traction. The analytical solution of the critical value for two collinear cracks and infinite collinear cracks is given out. The critical value is sensitive to pre-existing crack length, the friction coefficient, the orientation of pre-existing crack, crack growth velocity.  相似文献

本文研究了双轴压缩载荷下裂纹的起裂和非共面传播问题,用动态光弹性方法成功地记录下裂纹的动态扩展过程。获得了双轴压缩载荷下扩展裂纹的传播速度,临界开裂载荷以及开裂角第一系重要断裂参数。研究表明,在双轴压缩载荷下不闭合裂纹前缘应力场是一个混合型的奇异场,裂纹的扩展过程为稳态过程并且表现出显著的阶段性特点。  相似文献

脆性固体在高应变率拉伸过程中常破碎为多块碎片.论文通过一个一维理论模型,研究动态脆性碎裂过程中固体内部载荷卸载规律,以及碎片尺度的计算方法.假设一维固体中裂纹等间距分布、同时起裂,研究均匀应变率拉伸作用下裂纹阵列的扩张过程.采用线弹性波动方程组描述未断裂固体的动力学关系,采用粘滞断裂模型(cohesive fracture model)描述裂纹的扩张行为,形成完整的初边值问题.采用沿特征线的有限差分计算格式求解控制方程组,得到固体在碎裂过程不同时刻下单位裂纹体内部的应力分布曲线,以及单位裂纹体平均应力随时间的变化规律,确定单位裂纹体达到完全断裂所需要的时间.在给定应变率下,分析不同裂纹间距下的碎裂卸载时间,以及使单位裂纹体以最快速度完全卸载所对应的最佳裂纹间距,并以此间距估算脆性固体在自然动态碎裂过程中的平均碎片尺度.进一步研究了具有不同粘滞性断裂特性的脆性固体的碎片尺度计算数值的差异.  相似文献

The propagation of an interfacial crack front along the weak plane of a thin film stack is considered. A simple patterning technique is used to create a toughness contrast within this perfectly two-dimensional weak interface. The transparency of the specimens allows us to directly observe the propagation of the purely planar crack obtained during a DCB (double cantilever beam) test. The effect on the crack front morphology of macroscopic unidimensional patterns in the direction of propagation is studied. In these weak pinning conditions, the geometry of the front quantitatively agrees with the first-order expansion proposed by Gao and Rice [1989. First-order perturbation analysis of crack trapping by arrays of obstacles. J. Appl. Mech. 56, 828-836] which accounts for the effect of the interfacial crack front geometry on the stress intensity factor.  相似文献

A three-dimensional Boundary Element Method (BEM) implementation of the energy domain integral for the numerical computation of the crack energy release rate is presented in this paper. The domain expression of the energy release rate is naturally compatible with the BEM, since stresses, strains and derivatives of displacements at internal points can be evaluated using the appropriate boundary integral equations. The pointwise crack energy release rate is evaluated along the three-dimensional crack front over a cylindrical domains that surround a segment of the crack front. The accuracy of the implementation is demonstrated by solving several problems, which include geometries containing straight as well as curved crack fronts.  相似文献
