Methane activation by group 5 transition-metal atoms in excess argon and the matrix infrared spectra of reaction products have been investigated. Vanadium forms only the monohydrido methyl complex (CH3-VH) in reaction with CH4 and upon irradiation. On the other hand, the heavier metals form methyl hydride and methylidene dihydride complexes (CH3-MH and CH2=MH2) along with the methylidyne trihydride anion complexes (CHMH3-). The neutral products, particularly the methylidene complex, increase markedly on irradiation whereas the anionic product depletes upon UV irradiation or addition of a trace of CCl4 or CBr4 to trap electrons. Other absorptions that emerge on irradiation and annealing increase markedly at higher precursor concentration and are attributed to a higher-order product ((CH3)2MH2)). Spectroscopic evidence suggests that the agostic Nb and Ta methylidene dihydride complexes have two identical metal-hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Reactions of group 5 metal atoms and methyl halides give carbon-metal single, double, and triple bonded complexes that are identified from matrix IR spectra and vibrational frequencies computed by DFT. Two different pairs of complexes are prepared in reactions of methyl fluoride with laser-ablated vanadium and tantalum atoms. The two vanadium complexes (CH(3)-VF and CH(2)=VHF) are persistently photoreversible and show a kinetic isotope effect on the yield of CD(2)=VDF. Identification of CH(2)=TaHF and CH[triple bond]TaH(2)F(-), along with the similar anionic Nb complex, suggests that the anionic methylidyne complex is a general property of the heavy group 5 metals. Reactions of Nb and Ta with CH(3)Cl and CH(3)Br have also been carried out to understand the ligand effects on the calculated structures and the vibrational characteristics. The methylidene complexes become more distorted with increasing halogen size, while the calculated C=M bond lengths and stretching frequencies decrease and increase, respectively. The anionic methylidyne complexes are less favored with increasing halogen size. Infrared spectra show a dramatic increase of the Ta methylidenes upon annealing, suggesting that the formation of CH(3)-TaX and its conversion to CH(2)=TaHX require essentially no activation energy.  相似文献

Methane activation by laser-ablated, excited Group 11 metal atoms has been carried out, leading to generation of CH(3)-MH, CH(3)-M, and CH(3)-MH(-), which are identified in the product infrared spectra on the basis of isotopic shifts and correlation with DFT calculated frequencies. The products reveal that C-H insertion by excited Au, Ag, and Cu readily occurs, and subsequent hydride-detachment or electron addition also follows. Each type of product has similar photochemical properties regardless of the metal. DFT computed energies reveal facile hydride dissociation and high electron affinities for the insertion complexes. The methyl metal species have the shortest C-M bonds, consistent with their highest calculated effective bond order, and the CH(3)-MH complexes have higher electron affinities than the metal atoms.  相似文献

A laser flash photolysis-resonance fluorescence technique has been employed to investigate the reactions of atomic chlorine with three alkyl bromides (R-Br) that have been identified as short-lived atmospheric constituents with significant ozone depletion potentials (ODPs). Kinetic data are obtained through time-resolved observation of the appearance of atomic bromine that is formed by rapid unimolecular decomposition of radicals generated via abstraction of a β-hydrogen atom. The following Arrhenius expressions are excellent representations of the temperature dependence of rate coefficients measured for the reactions Cl + CH(3)CH(2)Br (eq 1 ) and Cl + CH(3)CH(2)CH(2)Br (eq 2 ) over the temperature range 221-436 K (units are 10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)): k(1)(T) = 3.73?exp(-378/T) and k(2)(T) = 5.14?exp(+21/T). The accuracy (2σ) of rate coefficients obtained from the above expressions is estimated to be ±15% for k(2)(T) and +15/-25% for k(1)(T) independent of T. For the relatively slow reaction Cl + CH(2)BrCH(2)Br (eq 3 ), a nonlinear ln k(3) vs 1/T dependence is observed and contributions to observed kinetics from impurity reactions cannot be ruled out; the following modified Arrhenius expression represents the temperature dependence (244-569 K) of upper-limit rate coefficients that are consistent with the data: k(3)(T) ≤ 3.2 × 10(-17)T(2)?exp(-184/T) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1). Comparison of Br fluorescence signal strengths obtained when Cl removal is dominated by reaction with R-Br with those obtained when Cl removal is dominated by reaction with Br(2) (unit yield calibration) allows branching ratios for β-hydrogen abstraction (k(ia)/k(i), i = 1,2) to be evaluated. The following Arrhenius-type expressions are excellent representations of the observed temperature dependences: k(1a)/k(1) = 0.85?exp(-230/T) and k(2a)/k(2) = 0.40 exp(+181/T). The accuracy (2σ) of branching ratios obtained from the above expressions is estimated to be ±35% for reaction 1 and ±25% for reaction 2 independent of T. It appears likely that reactions 1 and 2 play a significant role in limiting the tropospheric lifetime and, therefore, the ODP of CH(3)CH(2)Br and CH(3)CH(2)CH(2)Br, respectively.  相似文献

The reactions of gas-phase Cu+(1S) and Cu+(3D) with CH3Cl, CH2ClF, CHClF2, and CClF3 are examined using the drift cell technique at 3.5 Torr. State-specific product channels and overall bimolecular rate constants for depletion of the two Cu+ states are determined using electronic state chromatography. Cu+(1S) participates exclusively in association with all four neutrals, whereas Cl abstraction is the dominant product channel for Cu+(3D). The resulting CuCl+ product subsequently abstracts Cl- in a secondary process. Tertiary reactions are also observed, which include both hydride abstraction (with CH3Cl) and fluoride abstraction (with the fluorinated neutrals). All product channels can be understood in terms of the known thermochemical and quantum mechanical (i.e., spin) requirements. Cu+(1S) is depleted by all four neutrals at 30% to 40% of the ADO rate under these conditions, whereas Cu+(3D) is observed to react at approximately 80% of the ADO rate with CH3Cl, CH2ClF, and CHClF2. Reaction of excited state Cu+ with CClF3 occurs at only 7% of the ADO rate. The behavior of Cu+(3D) is consistent with a mechanism in which formation of CuCl+ occurs exclusively on the triplet surface via a mechanism in which the metal ion must interact exclusively with Cl.  相似文献

Electronic structure and the vibrational frequencies of CH(3)(OCH(2)CH(2))(n)OCH(3)-M(+)-CF(3)SO(3)(-) (n = 2-4, M = Li, Na, and K) complexes have been derived from ab initio Hartree-Fock calculations. The metal ion shows varying coordination from 5 to 7 in these complexes. In tetraglyme-lithium triflate, Li(+) binds to one of the oxygens of CF(3)SO(3)(-) (triflate or Tf(-)) unlike for potassium or sodium ions, which possess bidentate coordination. Structures of glyme-MTf complexes thus derived agree well with those determined from X-ray diffraction experiments. The metal ion binds more strongly to ether oxygens of tetraglyme than its di- or triglyme analogues and engenders contraction of SO (for oxygens binding to metal ion) bonds with consequent frequency upshift for the corresponding vibration in the complex relative to those in the free MTf ion pairs. Complexation of the diglyme with LiTf engenders the largest downshift (91 cm(-1)) for the SO(2) stretching vibration of the free anion, which suggests stronger binding of lithium to the diglyme than the tri- (79 cm(-1)) or tetraglyme (70 cm(-1)). A frequency shift in the opposite direction for the SO (where oxygens do not coordinate to the metal) and CF(3) stretchings, which stems from the ion-polymer and anion-ion interactions, has been noticed. These frequency shifts have been analyzed using natural bond orbital analysis and difference electron density maps coupled with molecular electron density topography.  相似文献

Rate constants for the gas‐phase reactions of CH3OCH2CF3 (k1), CH3OCH3 (k2), CH3OCH2CH3 (k3), and CH3CH2OCH2CH3 (k4) with NO3 radicals were determined by means of a relative rate method at 298 K. NO3 radicals were prepared by thermal decomposition of N2O5 in a 700–750 Torr N2O5/NO2/NO3/air gas mixture in a 1‐m3 temperature‐controlled chamber. The measured rate constants at 298 K were k1 = (5.3 ± 0.9) × 10?18, k2 = (1.07 ± 0.10) × 10?16, k3 = (7.81 ± 0.36) × 10?16, and k4 = (2.80 ± 0.10) × 10?15 cm3 molecule?1 s?1. Potential energy surfaces for the NO3 radical reactions were computationally explored, and the rate constants of k1k5 were calculated according to the transition state theory. The calculated values of rate constants k1k4 were in reasonable agreement with the experimentally determined values. The calculated value of k5 was compared with the estimate (k5 < 5.3 × 10?21 cm3 molecule?1 s?1) derived from the correlation between the rate constants for reactions with NO3 radicals (k1k4) and the corresponding rate constants for reactions with OH radicals. We estimated the tropospheric lifetimes of CH3OCH2CF3 and CHF2CF2OCH2CF3 to be 240 and >2.4 × 105 years, respectively, with respect to reaction with NO3 radicals. The tropospheric lifetimes of these compounds are much shorter with respect to the OH reaction. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 41: 490–497, 2009  相似文献

Oxide methanesulfonates of Mo, U, Re, and V have been prepared by reaction of MoO(3), UO(2)(CH(3)COO)(2)·2H(2)O, Re(2)O(7)(H(2)O)(2), and V(2)O(5) with CH(3)SO(3)H or mixtures thereof with its anhydride. These compounds are the first examples of solvent-free oxide methanesulfonates of these elements. MoO(2)(CH(3)SO(3))(2) (Pbca, a=1487.05(4), b=752.55(2), c=1549.61(5) pm, V=1.73414(9) nm(3), Z=8) contains [MoO(2)] moieties connected by [CH(3)SO(3)] ions to form layers parallel to (100). UO(2)(CH(3)SO(3))(2) (P2(1)/c, a=1320.4(1), b=1014.41(6), c=1533.7(1) pm, β=112.80(1)°, V=1.8937(3) nm(3), Z=8) consists of linear UO(2)(2+) ions coordinated by five [CH(3)SO(3)] ions, forming a layer structure. VO(CH(3)SO(3))(2) (P2(1)/c, a=1136.5(1), b=869.87(7), c=915.5(1) pm, β=113.66(1)°, V=0.8290(2) nm(3), Z=4) contains [VO] units connected by methanesulfonate anions to form corrugated layers parallel to (100). In ReO(3)(CH(3)SO(3)) (P1, a=574.0(1), b=1279.6(3), c=1641.9(3) pm, α=102.08(2), β=96.11(2), γ=99.04(2)°, V=1.1523(4) nm(3), Z=8) a chain structure exhibiting infinite O-[ReO(2)]-O-[ReO(2)]-O chains is formed. Each [ReO(2)]-O-[ReO(2)] unit is coordinated by two bidentate [CH(3)SO(3)] ions. V(2)O(3)(CH(3)SO(3))(4) (I2/a, a=1645.2(3), b=583.1(1), c=1670.2(3) pm, β=102.58(3), V=1.5637(5) pm(3), Z=4) adopts a chain structure, too, but contains discrete [VO]-O-[VO] moieties, each coordinated by two bidentate [CH(3)SO(3)] ligands. Additional methanesulfonate ions connect the [V(2)O(3)] groups along [001]. Thermal decomposition of the compounds was monitored under N(2) and O(2) atmosphere by thermogravimetric/differential thermal analysis and XRD measurements. Under N(2) the decomposition proceeds with reduction of the metal leading to the oxides MoO(2), U(3)O(7), V(4)O(7), and VO(2); for MoO(2)(CH(3)SO(3))(2), a small amount of MoS(2) is formed. If the thermal decomposition is carried out in a atmosphere of O(2) the oxides MoO(3) and V(2)O(5) are formed.  相似文献

Direct variable reaction coordinate transition state theory (VRC-TST) rate coefficients are reported for the (3)CH(2) + OH, (3)CH(2) + (3)CH(2), and (3)CH(2) + CH(3) barrierless association reactions. The predicted rate coefficient for the (3)CH(2) + OH reaction (approximately 1.2 x 10(-10) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) for 300-2500 K) is 4-5 times larger than previous estimates, indicating that this reaction may be an important sink for OH in many combustion systems. The predicted rate coefficients for the (3)CH(2) + CH(3) and (3)CH(2) + (3)CH(2) reactions are found to be in good agreement with the range of available experimental measurements. Product branching in the self-reaction of methylene is discussed, and the C(2)H(2) + 2H and C(2)H(2) + H2 products are predicted in a ratio of 4:1. The effect of the present set of rate coefficients on modeling the secondary kinetics of methanol decomposition is briefly considered. Finally, the present set of rate coefficients, along with previous VRC-TST determinations of the rate coefficients for the self-reactions of CH(3) and OH and for the CH(3) + OH reaction, are used to test the geometric mean rule for the CH(3), (3)CH(2), and OH fragments. The geometric mean rule is found to predict the cross-combination rate coefficients for the (3)CH(2) + OH and (3)CH(2) + CH(3) reactions to better than 20%, with a larger (up to 50%) error for the CH(3) + OH reaction.  相似文献

A series of group 12 metal thiocarboxylate species, M(SOCR)(2)Lut(2) [M = Cd, Zn; R = CH(3), C(CH(3))(3); Lut = 3,5-dimethylpyridine (lutidine)], were synthesized to investigate their potential to act as precursors for the formation of metal sulfide materials. These species were expected to undergo thiocarboxylic anhydride elimination to give stoichiometric metal sulfides and remove the organic supporting ligands cleanly. These species were characterized by (1)H, (13)C, and (where appropriate) (113)Cd NMR spectroscopies, TGA, elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The spectroscopic and analytical data were consistent with the formulas identified above, and in the solid state the compounds are monomeric with approximate tetrahedral metal coordination environments and monodentate S-bond thiocarboxylate ligands. Crystal data for Cd(SOCCH(3))(2)Lut(2): crystallized in the triclinic space group P&onemacr;, with a = 8.267(1) ?, b = 9.467(1) ?, c = 14.087(1) ?, alpha = 94.04(1) degrees, beta = 91.49(1) degrees, gamma = 104.03(1) degrees, and Z = 2. Thermal decomposition of these compounds in the solid state or in solution resulted in formation of the corresponding metal sulfide at low temperatures, as seen by powder X-ray diffraction. Evidence for thiocarboxylic anhydride elimination was documented by NMR in solution phase reactions. The effects on thiocarboxylic anhydride elimination, resulting from varying M, R, or solvent media, were examined by heating NMR tube solutions of M(SOCR)(2)Lut(2) in pyridine or toluene. Heating toluene or pyridine solutions of Cd(SOCCH(3))(2)Lut(2) resulted in formation of nanocrystalline, sphalerite CdS, as determined by X-ray diffraction and TEM. These preliminary reactivity studies have revealed the great potential of this highly tailorable chemical system as precursors to group 12 metal sulfido species.  相似文献

A study of the reaction initiated by the thermal decomposition of di-t-butyl peroxide (DTBP) in the presence of (CH3)2C?CH2 (B) at 391–444 K has yielded kinetic data on a number of reactions involving CH3 (M·), (CH3)2CCH2CH3 (MB·) and (CH3)2?CH2C(CH3)2CH2CH3 (MBB·) radicals. The cross-combination ratio for M· and MB· radicals, rate constants for the addition to B of M· and MB· radicals relative to those for their recombination reactions, and rate constants for the decomposition of DTBP, have been determined. The values are, respectively, where θ = RT ln 10 and the units are dm3/2 mol?1/2 s?1/2 for k2/k and k9/k, s?1 for k0, and kJ mol?1 for E. Various disproportionation-combination ratios involving M·, MB·, and MBB· radicals have been evaluated. The values obtained are: Δ1(M·, MB·) = 0.79 ± 0.35, Δ1(MB·, MB·) = 3.0 ± 1.0, Δ1(MBB·, MB·) = 0.7 ± 0.4, Δ1(M·, MBB·) = 4.1 ± 1.0, Δ1(MB·, MBB·) = 6.2 ± 1.4, and Δ1(MBB·, MBB·) = 3.9 ± 2.3, where Δ1 refers to H-abstraction from the CH3 group adjacent to the center of the second radical, yielding a 1-olefin. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The reaction kinetics of chlorine atoms with a series of partially fluorinated straight-chain alcohols, CF(3)CH(2)CH(2)OH (1), CF(3)CF(2)CH(2)OH (2), CHF(2)CF(2)CH(2)OH (3), and CF(3)CHFCF(2)CH(2)OH (4), were studied in the gas phase over the temperature range of 273-363 K by using very low-pressure reactor mass spectrometry. The absolute rate coefficients were given by the expressions (in cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)): k(1) = (4.42 +/- 0.48) x 10(-11) exp(-255 +/- 20/T); k(1)(303) = (1.90 +/- 0.17) x 10(-11), k(2) = (2.23 +/- 0.31) x 10(-11) exp(-1065 +/- 106/ T); k(2)(303) = (6.78 +/- 0.63) x 10(-13), k(3) = (8.51 +/- 0.62) x 10(-12) exp(-681 +/- 72/T); k(3)(303) = (9.00 +/- 0.82) x 10(-13) and k(4) = (6.18 +/- 0.84) x 10(-12) exp(-736 +/- 42/T); k(4)(303) = (5.36 +/- 0.51) x 10(-13). The quoted 2sigma uncertainties include the systematic errors. All title reactions proceed via a hydrogen atom metathesis mechanism leading to HCl. Moreover, the oxidation of the primarily produced radicals was investigated, and the end products were the corresponding aldehydes (R(F)-CHO; R(F) = -CH(2)CF(3), -CF(2)CF(3), -CF(2)CHF(2), and -CF(2)CHFCF(3)), providing a strong experimental indication that the primary reactions proceed mainly via the abstraction of a methylenic hydrogen adjacent to a hydroxyl group. Finally, the bond strengths and ionization potentials for the title compounds were determined by density functional theory calculations, which also suggest that the alpha-methylenic hydrogen is mainly under abstraction by Cl atoms. The correlation of room-temperature rate coefficients with ionization potentials for a set of 27 molecules, comprising fluorinated C2-C5 ethers and C2-C4 alcohols, is good with an average deviation of a factor of 2, and is given by the expression log(k) (in cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)) = (5.8 +/- 1.4) - (1.56 +/- 0.13) x (ionization potential (in eV)).  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the extremely hindered phosphine ligands, P(CH(2)CH(2)P(t)Bu(2))(3) (P(2)P(3)(tBu), 1), PhP(CH(2)CH(2)P(t)Bu(2))(2) (PhP(2)P(2)(tBu), 2), and P(CH(2)CH(2)CH(2)P(t)Bu(2))(3) (P(3)P(3)(tBu), 3) are reported, along with the synthesis and characterization of ruthenium chloro complexes RuCl(2)(P(2)P(3)(tBu)) (4), RuCl(2)(PhP(2)P(2)(tBu)) (5), and RuCl(2)(P(3)P(3)(tBu)) (6). The bulky P(2)P(3)(tBu) (1) and P(3)P(3)(tBu) (3) ligands are the most sterically encumbered PP(3)-type ligands so far synthesized, and in all cases, only three phosphorus donors are able to bind to the metal center. Complexes RuCl(2)(PhP(2)P(2)(tBu)) (5) and RuCl(2)(P(3)P(3)(tBu)) (6) were characterized by crystallography. Low temperature solution and solid state (31)P{(1)H} NMR were used to demonstrate that the structure of RuCl(2)(P(2)P(3)(tBu)) (4) is probably analogous to that of RuCl(2)(PhP(2)P(2)(tBu)) (5) which had been structurally characterized.  相似文献

Reactions of laser-ablated group 3 metal atoms with methyl halides have been carried out in excess of Ar during condensation and the matrix infrared spectra studied. The metals are as effective as other early transition metals in providing insertion products (CH3-MX) and higher oxidation state methylidene complexes (CH2-MHX) (X = F, Cl, Br) following alpha-hydrogen migration. Unlike the cases of the group 4-6 metals, the calculated methylidene complex structures show little evidence for agostic distortion, consistent with the previously studied group 3 metal methylidene hydrides, and the C-M bond lengths of the insertion and methylidene complexes are comparable to each other. However, the C-Sc bond lengths are 0.013, 0.025, and 0.029 A shorter for the CH2-ScHX complexes, respectively, and the spin densities are consistent with weak C(2p)-Sc(3d) pi bonding. The present results reconfirm that the number of valence electrons on the metal is important for agostic interaction in simple methylidene complexes.  相似文献

An analysis of thermochemical and kinetic data on the bromination of the halomethanes CH4–nXn (X = F, Cl, Br; n = 1–3), the two chlorofluoromethanes, CH2FCl and CHFCl2, and CH4, shows that the recently reported heats of formation of the radicals CH2Cl, CHCl2, CHBr2, and CFCl2, and the C? H bond dissociation energies in the matching halomethanes are not compatible with the activation energies for the corresponding reverse reactions. From the observed trends in CH4 and the other halomethanes, the following revised ΔH°f,298 (R) values have been derived: ΔH°f(CH2Cl) = 29.1 ± 1.0, ΔH°f(CHCl2) = 23.5 ± 1.2, ΔHf(CH2Br) = 40.4 ± 1.0, ΔH°f(CHBr2) = 45.0 ± 2.2, and ΔH°f(CFCl2) = ?21.3 ± 2.4 kcal mol?1. The previously unavailable radical heat of formation, ΔH°f(CHFCl) = ?14.5 ± 2.4 kcal mol?1 has also been deduced. These values are used with the heats of formation of the parent compounds from the literature to evaluate C? H and C? X bond dissociation energies in CH3Cl, CH2Cl2, CH3Br, CH2Br2, CH2FCl, and CHFCl2.  相似文献

The simple methylidene and methylidyne complexes (CH2=MHX and CH[triple bond]MH2X; X = F, Cl, Br, and I) are prepared in reactions of laser-ablated Mo and W atoms with the methyl halides and investigated by matrix infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations. These complex structures are photoreversible: visible irradiation converts the methylidene complex to the methylidyne complex, and UV irradiation reverses this effect via alpha-hydrogen migration. While the higher oxidation state complexes are readily formed regardless of halogen size, the Mo methylidyne complex is relatively less favored with increasing halogen size, and the W complex shows the opposite tendency. The group 6 metal methylidenes are predicted to have the most agostically distorted structures among the early transition-metal methylidenes. The computed carbon-metal bond shortens with increasing halogen size for both the methylidene and methylidyne complexes. Harmonic and anharmonic frequencies computed by DFT converge on the experimental values and thus provide support for the identification of these new Mo and W complexes.  相似文献

The heats of formation of N(2)H, diazene (cis- and trans-N(2)H(2)), N(2)H(3), and hydrazine (N(2)H(4)), as well as their protonated species (diazenium, N(2)H(3)(+), and hydrazinium, N(2)H(5)(+)), have been calculated by using high level electronic structure theory. Energies were calculated by using coupled cluster theory with a perturbative treatment of the triple excitations (CCSD(T)) and employing augmented correlation consistent basis sets (aug-cc-pVnZ) up to quintuple-zeta, to perform a complete basis set extrapolation for the energy. Geometries were optimized at the CCSD(T) level with the aug-cc-pVDZ and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets. Core-valence and scalar relativistic corrections were included, as well as scaled zero point energies. We find the following heats of formation (kcal/mol) at 0 (298) K: DeltaH(f)(N(2)H) = 60.8 (60.1); DeltaH(f)(cis-N(2)H(2)) = 54.9 (53.2); DeltaH(f)(trans-N(2)H(2)) = 49.9 (48.1) versus >/=48.8 +/- 0.5 (exptl, 0 K); DeltaH(f)(N(2)H(4)) = 26.6 (23.1) versus 22.8 +/- 0.2 (exptl, 298 K); DeltaH(f)(N(2)H(3)) = 56.2 (53.6); DeltaH(f)(N(2)H(3)(+)) = 231.6 (228.9); and DeltaH(f)(N(2)H(5)(+)) = 187.1 (182.7). In addition, we calculated the heats of formation of CH(3)NH(2), CH(3)NNH, and CH(3)HNNHCH(3) by using isodesmic reactions and at the G3(MP2) level. The calculated results for the hydrogenation reaction RNNR + H(2) --> RHNNHR show that substitution of an organic substituent for H improved the energetics, suggesting that these types of compounds may be possible to use in a chemical hydrogen storage system.  相似文献

The CH2Cl + CH3 (1) and CHCl2 + CH3 (2) cross-radical reactions were studied by laser photolysis/photoionization mass spectroscopy. Overall rate constants were obtained in direct real-time experiments in the temperature region 301-800 K and bath gas (helium) density (6-12) x 10(16) atom cm(-3). The observed rate constant of reaction 1 can be represented by an Arrhenius expression k1 = 3.93 x 10(-11) exp(91 K/T) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1) (+/-25%) or as an average temperature-independent value of k1= (4.8 +/- 0.7) x 10(-11) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1). The rate constant of reaction 2 can be expressed as k2= 1.66 x 10(-11) exp(359 K/T) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1) (+/-25%). C2H4 and C2H3Cl were detected as the primary products of reactions 1 and 2, respectively. The experimental values of the rate constant are in reasonable agreement with the prediction based on the "geometric mean rule." A separate experimental attempt to determine the rate constants of the high-temperature CH2Cl + O2 (10) and CHCl2 + O2 (11) reaction resulted in an upper limit of 1.2 x 10(-16) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) for k10 and k11 at 800 K.  相似文献

Ethyl methanesulfonate, CH3SO2OCH2CH3, is well-known as an alkylating agent in mutagenic and carcinogenic processes. Its electronic structure and that of the methanesulfonate anion (CH3SO3-) were determined using optimization methods based on density functional theory and Moller-Plesset second-order perturbation theory. For CH3SO2OCH2CH3, two conformations with symmetries C(s) and C1 are obtained, the former being more stable than the latter. Natural bond orbital (NBO) calculations show the C(s) conformation provides a more favorable geometry of the lone pairs of the oxygen atom linking the ethyl group. The NBO technique also reveals the characteristics of the methanesulfonate anion as a leaving group due to the rearrangement of the excess electronic charge after alkylation. Furthermore, the infrared spectra of CH3SO2OCH2CH3 are reported for the liquid and solid states as well as the Raman spectrum of the liquid. Comparison to experiment of the conformationally averaged IR spectrum of C(s) and C1 provides evidence of the predicted conformations in the solid IR spectrum. These experimental data along with the calculated theoretical force constants are used to define a scaled quantum mechanical force field for the target molecule, which allowed the measured frequencies to be reproduced with a final root-mean-square deviation of 9 cm(-1) and, thus, a reliable assignment of the vibrational spectrum.  相似文献
