As is well-known, it is very difficult to solve wave equations in curved space-time. In this paper,we find that wave equations describing massless fields of the spins s≤2 in accelerating KerrNewman black holes can be written as a compact master equation. The master equation can be separated to radial and angular equations, and both can be transformed to Heun's equation,which shows that there are analytic solutions for all the wave equations of massless spin fields.The results not only demonstrate that it is possible to study the similarity between waves of gravitational and other massless spin fields, but also it can deal with other astrophysical applications, such as quasinormal modes, scattering, stability, etc. In addition, we also derive approximate solutions of the radial equation.  相似文献

The massive neutron star discoverer announced that strange particles, such as hyperons should be ruled out in the neutron star core as the soft Equation of State(EOS) can-not support a massive neutron star. However, many of the nuclear theories and laboratory experiments support that at high density the strange particles will appear and the corresponding EOS of super-dense matters will become soft. This situation promotes a challenge between the astro-observation and nuclear physics. In this work, we introduce an effective mechanism to answer this challenge, that is, if a neutron star is electrically charged, a soft EOS will be equivalently stiffened and thus can support a massive neutron star. By employing a representative soft EOS, it is found that in order to obtain an evident effect on the EOS and thus increasing the maximum stellar mass by the electrostatic field, the total net charge should be in an order of 1020 C. Moreover, by comparing the results of two kind of charge distributions, it is found that even for different distributions, a similar total charge:~2.3×1020C is needed to support a~2.0M⊙neutron star.  相似文献

In this paper,we discuss the backscattering wave of sonar,radar and sodar in moving medium,which is anon-stationary stochastic process even if its energy attenuation is compensated.The evolutionary spectra are agood approach to describe it,both the non-stationary factor A_t(ω) and the characteristic width B_L aresignificant.When the time interval corresponding to the volume element of the scatterers is smaller than B_L,we can suppose that the power spectrum displays a single hump characteristic,and when it is larger than B_L,we may use the power spectrum which displays a bi-hump characteristics.The transmitted signal which hasslow varing ambiguity function can reduce the effect of A_t,(ω).  相似文献

The survival probability of a compound nucleus measures the competition among the neutron evaporation, light charged particle emissions and fission in the process of its de-excitation. It is considered as one of the crucial factors for producing superheavy elements, which is usually described by the existing statistical models[1]. In spite of the well developed statistical theory itself, however, due to the unclearness of the structure of superheavy nuclei, some characteristic quantities for evaluating the fission and particle emission widths are correspondingly ambiguous. It is of broad interest to understand how the evolution of non-equilibrium systems can be triggered and the role played by external perturbations. A famous example is the origin of randomness in the laminar-turbulence transition, which is raised in the pipe flow experiment by Reynolds as a century old unresolved problem. Although there exist different hypotheses, it is widely believed that the randomness is "intrinsic", which, however, remains as an open question to be verified. Simulating the modeled RayleighB′enard convection system by means of the so-called clean numerical simulation(CNS) with negligible numerical noises that are smaller even than thermal fluctuation, we verify that turbulence can be self-excited from the inherent thermal fluctuation without any external disturbances, i.e. out of nothing. This reveals a relationship between microscopic physical uncertainty and macroscopic randomness. It is found that in physics the system nonlinearity functions as a channel for randomness information,and energy as well, to transport microscopic uncertainty toward large scales. Such scenario can generally be helpful to understand the various relevant phenomena. In methodology, compared with direct numerical simulation(DNS), CNS opens a new direction to investigate turbulent flows with largely improved accuracy and reliability.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish a one-dimensional random nanocrystalline chain model, we derive a new formula of ac electron-phonon-field conductance for electron tunnelling transfer in one-dimensional nanometre systems. By calculating the ac conductivity, the relationship between the electric field, temperature and conductivity is analysed, and the effect of crystalline grain size and distortion of interfacial atoms on the ac conductance is discussed. A characteristic of negative differential dependence of resistance and temperature in the low-temperature region for a nanometre system is found. The ac conductivity increases linearly with rising frequency of the electric field, and it tends to increase as the crystalline grain size increases and to decrease as the distorted degree of interfacial atoms increases.  相似文献

In this study, we apply a self-consistent mean field approximation of the three-flavor Nambu–Jona-Lasinio(NJL) model and compare it with the two-flavor NJL model. The self-consistent mean field approximation introduces a new parameter, α, that cannot be fixed in advance by the mean field approach itself. Due to the lack of experimental data, the parameter, α, is undetermined. Hence, it is regarded as a free parameter and its influence on the chiral phase transition of strong interaction matter is studied based on this self-consistent mean field approximation. α affects numerous properties of the chiral phase transitions, such as the position of the phase transition point and the order of phase transition. Additionally, increasing α will decrease the number densities of different quarks and increase the chemical potential at which the number density of the strange quark is non-zero. Finally, we observed that α affects the equation of state(EOS) of the quark matter, and the sound velocity can be calculated to determine the stiffness of the EOS, which provides a good basis for studying the neutron star mass-radius relationship.  相似文献

In this Letter, we propose an optical attenuator based on the phase modulation of a spatial light modulator(SLM). In this system, we use two polarized beam splitters(PBSs) to control the polarized light and one SLM to modulate the phase of the polarized light. In the initial state, the light beam is divided into p-light and s-light when it passes through the first PBS. When the light passes through the second PBS, s-light is reflected and p-light is detected by the CCD camera. By loading different grayscales on the SLM, p-light changes its polarized state to s-light. The light power can be attenuated during the loading process. Our experiment shows that the system can obtain a wide optical attenuation from 1–27.2 d B. When loading two grayscales,the SLM has a fast switching time of 25 ms under a low actuated voltage of 5.5 V. The response time of the optical attenuator depends on the switching time of the SLM. Therefore, the system can also have a fast response time. By using the method of spatial multiplexing and adding two mirrors in the system, it can also be extended into a 1 × 2 optical switch. The results verify its feasibility. The optical attenuator has wide applications in photonic signal processing and fiber-optic communication.  相似文献

Ignominy is a tool developed in the CMS IGUANA project to analyse the structure of software systems.Its primary component is a dependency scanner that distills information into human-usable forms.It also includes several tools to visualise the collected data in the form of graphical views and numerical metrics.Ignominy was designed to adapt to almost any reasonable structure,and it has been used to analyse several large projects. The original purpose of Ignominy was to help us better ensure the quality of our own software,and in particular warn us about possible structureal problems early on .As a part of this activity it is now used as a standard part of our release procedure,we also use it to evaluate and study the quality of external packages we plan to make use of .We describe what Ignominy can find out,and how if can be used to ivsualise and assess a software structure.We also discuss the inherent problems of the analysis as well as the different approaches to modularity the tool makes quite evident.The focus is the illustration of these issues through the analysis results for several sizable HEP softwre projects.  相似文献

Linear alkyl benzene(LAB) will be used as the solvent in a liquid scintillator mixture for the JUNO antineutrino experiment. Its light absorption properties should therefore be understood prior to its effective use in the experiment. Attenuation length measurements at a light wavelength of 430 nm have been performed on samples of LAB prepared for the JUNO experiment. Inorganic impurities in LAB have also been studied for their possibilities of light absorption in our wavelength of interest. In view of a tentative plan by the JUNO collaboration to utilize neutron capture with hydrogen in the detector, we also present in this work a preliminary study on the carbon–hydrogen ratio and the attenuation length of the samples.  相似文献

If a D-T generator is used as a neutron source to simultaneously measure the content of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen in a multicomponent sample by NIPGA (Neutron Induced Prompt Gamma-ray Analysis), the 14 MeV neutron flux can be regarded as a constant value. The relationship between the production of the hydrogen characteristic gamma-rays and its content is nonlinear. In this paper, we use MCNP (Monte Carlo N-Particle Transport code) to simulate the relationship and analyze it. In practical measurement of the characteristic gamma-ray, it's impossible to get the net count. Therefore, we use the experiment to obtain the relationship between the hydrogen content and the total count of its characteristic gamma-rays. If we use the relationship combined with the simulation result to calculate the hydrogen content, the metrical precision can be much increased. The deviation of hydrogen content between NIPGA and chemical analysis is less than 0.25%, which meets the requirement of coal industry.  相似文献

The distribution of hydrogen in Nb/Ta superlattices has been investigated by combined neutron reflectivity and x-ray scattering. We provide evidence to support that strain modulations determined with x-ray diffraction can be interpreted as modulations in hydrogen content. We show that the hydrogen concentration is modulated and favors Nb, in agreement with previous studies. We measure the concentration directly using neutron reflectivity and demonstrate no detectable change in the distribution of hydrogen with temperature, in stark contrast to previous studies.  相似文献

采用蒙特卡罗方法, 运用MCNP4C程序研究了碳化硼含量20%–40%、中子能量200 eV–15 keV、材料厚度0.3–2 cm对B4C/Al复合材料中子屏蔽性能的影响. 结果表明: 碳化硼含量与中子透射系数呈一次线性下降关系; 同含量的碳化硼, B4C/Al材料的中子屏蔽效果要大大优于聚乙烯碳化硼材料; 在等厚度条件下, 模拟试样B20等的中子屏蔽效果要优于水、铜、混凝土等常规屏蔽材料; 材料厚度与中子透射系数呈指数下降关系, 且单位厚度的增加对中子透射系数改变很大; 含硼量对热中子透射系数影响很大; 在热中子能区, 中子每单位能量的变化对中子透射系数改变较大; 在慢中子能区, 中子每单位能量的变化对中子透射系数改变很小. 关键词: 中子透射系数 蒙特卡罗 铝基复合材料 碳化硼  相似文献

Hydrogen is an element of fundamental importance for energy but hard to quantify in bulk materials. Neutron radiography was used to map in situ loss of elemental hydrogen from beech tree wood samples during pyrolysis. The samples consisted of three wood cylinders (finished dowel or cut branch) of approximately 1 cm in length. The samples were pyrolyzed under vacuum in a furnace vessel that was placed inside a cold neutron imaging beamline using a temperature ramp of 5 °C/min from ambient up to 400 °C. Neutron radiographs with exposures of 30 s were sequentially recorded with a charge-coupled device over the course of the experiment. Relative absorbance/scattering of the neutron beam by each sample was based on intensity (or brightness) values as a function of pixel position. The much larger neutron cross section for hydrogen compared to carbon and oxygen enables almost direct conversion of neutron attenuation into sample hydrogen content for each time step during the pyrolysis experiment. Target and vessel temperatures were recorded concurrently with collection of the radiographs so that changes could be directly correlated to different states of pyrolysis. The most visible change appeared at the initial phase of the 400 °C plateau as evidenced by strong hydrogen loss and primarily diametric shrinking of the samples. The loss of elemental hydrogen between initial and final states of pyrolysis was estimated to be about 70%.  相似文献

DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorption) is widely used in airport scanners, industrial scanners and bone densitometers. DEXA determines the properties of materials by measuring the absorption differences of X-rays from a bremsstrahlung tube source with and without filtering. Filtering creates a beam with a higher mean energy, which causes lower material absorption. The absorption difference between measurements (those with a filter subtracted from those without a filter) is a positive number that increases with the effective atomic number of the material. In this paper, the concept of using a filter to create a dual beam and an absorption difference in materials is applied to radiation from a 252Cf source, called NEUDEG (neutron and dual-energy gamma absorption). NEUDEG includes absorptions for fast neutrons as well as the dual photon beams and thus an incentive for developing the method is that, unlike DEXA, it is inherently sensitive to the hydrogen content of materials. In this paper, a model for the absorption difference and absorption sum in NEUDEG is presented using the combined gamma ray and fast neutron mass attenuation coefficients. Absorption differences can be either positive or negative in NEUDEG, increasing with increases in the effective atomic number and decreasing with increases in the hydrogen content. Sample sets of absorption difference curves are calculated for materials with typical gamma-ray and fast neutron mass attenuation coefficients. The model, which uses tabulated mass attenuated coefficients, agrees with experimental data for porcelain tiles and polyethylene sheets. 滑石粉的主要化学成分是Mg3[Si_4010](OH)_2,通过检测面粉中~(24)Mg和~(28)Si原子核的含量,可以计算出面粉中滑石粉的含量.利用中子活化分析方法测量面粉中~(24)Mg和~(28)Si原子核的含量问题时,被测样品内部中子通量和能量随厚度的变化以及γ射线自吸收效应会对测量结果有较大的影响.利用MCNP5 (Monte Carlo N-particle transport code system 5)模拟了中子通量和能量与样品厚度变化的关系,并利用氦3正比计数管测量样品不同厚度处中子通量,结果显示MCNP5模拟结果与实验测量结果基本相符.通过MCNP5模拟和碘化钠探测器测量,研究了γ射线自吸收效应与样品厚度的关系,确定了6.6 cm的样品厚度为最佳实验条件,根据模拟结果给出了特征γ射线计数与样品厚度的关系式,并与实验进行对比,结果符合得较好.  相似文献

The hydrogen concentration near to the surface of some typical ultra cold neutron container materials has been measured with theH(11 B, ) 2 reaction. The concentration of 2 – 3 × 1016 H atoms/cm2 is in agreement with results obtained by other methods. Using theoretical neutron scattering cross sections we confirm that at room temperature the experimentally known high UCN reflection loss rate could be caused by the measured concentration of hydrogen. The original hydrogen content has been reduced by ion bombardment to about one tenth of its original value. The redeposition of hydrogen has been studied as a function of the residual pressure. We conclude that it is possible to produce by sputtering container surfaces with hydrogen (and other surface impurity) contents sufficiently low and stable to test directly with UCN whether their losses are mainly due to upscattering on impurities or not.  相似文献

利用深能级瞬态谱(简称DLTS),恒温下瞬态电容技术及红外吸收光谱,研究了中子辐照氢气氛中生长的n型区熔硅。相应于间隙氢的红外吸收谱带中子辐照后强度减弱。首次观察到未经退火就出现了能级为Ec=0.20eV的一个新的缺陷——Z中心,由于该中心的能级很接近于A中心,而浓度又较A中心低得多,通过改变中子剂量使费密能级处于A中心以下几个kT处,才能精确地测定Z中心的DLTS峰所在的温度。根据实验判断Z中心很可能是氢与空位的复合物,讨论了它的可能电子结构。 关键词:  相似文献

Neutron diffraction provides an experimental method of directly locating hydrogen atoms in proteins. After developing an original neutron detector (neutron imaging plate) and a novel practical neutron monochromator (elastically bent perfect Si monochromator), BIX-type diffractometers which were equipped with these tools were efficiently constructed at JRR-3 in Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI), Japan and they have finished many protein crystallographic measurements and interesting results have come one after another. At the same time a method of growing large protein single crystals and a database of hydrogen and hydration have also been developed. In the near future, a pulsed neutron diffractometer for biological macromolecules has been proposed at J-PARC in JAERI.  相似文献

A liquid hydrogen source of ultra-cold neutrons (UCN) developed for an experimental search for the electric dipole moment of the neutron is described. The results of an investigation of the yield of UCN from gaseous, liquid, and solid hydrogen as a function of temperature are presented. The UCN counting rate obtained at the output of the 6 × 7 cm2 neutron guide tube is 5 × 104 n/s. This counting rate corresponds to a flux of neutrons whose velocity along the axis of the neutron guide tube is below 7 m/s. Preliminary measurements of the UCN yield from liquid and solid deuterium have been carried out.  相似文献
