The -meson production in the reaction has been studied at excess energies of Q = 26.5, 32.5 and 46.6 MeV using the internal beam facility COSY-11 at the cooler synchrotron COSY. The total cross-sections as well as one angular distribution for the highest Q-value are presented. The excitation function of the near-threshold data can be described by a pure s-wave phase space distribution with the inclusion of the proton-proton final-state interaction and Coulomb effects. The obtained angular distribution of the -mesons is also consistent with pure s-wave production.Received: 11 August 2003, Revised: 14 November 2003, Published online: 6 April 2004PACS: 13.60.Le Meson production - 13.75.-n Hadron-induced low- and intermediate-energy reactions and scattering (energy GeV) - 13.85.Lg Total cross-sections - 25.40.-h Nucleon-induced reactions  相似文献

A partial wave analysis of PS185 data for is presented. A 3 S 1 cusp is identified in the inverse process at threshold, using detailed balance to deduce cross sections from . Partial wave amplitudes for 3 P 0, 3 F 3, 3 D 3 and 3 G 3 exhibit a behaviour very similar to resonances observed in Crystal Barrel data. With this identification, the data then provide evidence for a new I = 0, J PC = 1- resonance with mass MeV, MeV, coupling to both 3 S 1 and 3 D 1.Received: 4 June 2004, Published online: 9 July 2004  相似文献

Isospin violating hadronic decays of the $ \eta$ and $ \eta{^\prime}$ mesons into 3 $ \pi$ mesons are driven by a term in the QCD Lagrangian proportional to the mass difference of the d and u quarks. The source giving large yield of the mesons for such decay studies are pp interactions close to the respective kinematical thresholds. The most important physics background for $ \eta$ , $ \eta{^\prime}$ $ \rightarrow$ $ \pi$ $ \pi$ $ \pi$ is coming from direct three-pion production reactions. In case of the $ \eta$ meson the background for the decays is relatively low ( $ \approx$ 10% . The purpose of this article is to provide an estimate of the direct pion production background for the $ \eta{^\prime}$ $ \rightarrow$ 3 $ \pi$ decays. Using the inclusive data from the COSY-11 experiment we have extracted the differential cross-section for the pp $ \rightarrow$ pp -multipion production reactions with the invariant mass of the pions equal to the $ \eta{^\prime}$ meson mass and estimated an upper limit for the signal to background ratio for studies of the $ \eta{^\prime}$ $ \rightarrow$ $ \pi^{+}_{}$ $ \pi^{-}_{}$ $ \pi^{0}_{}$ decay.  相似文献

We study ¯pp annihilation at rest intoπφ andγφ. Rescattering by ¯K*K+K*¯K and ρ+ρ? for ¯pp→πφ states is sizable, of order (0.90 to 2.6) × 10?4 in the branching ratio, but smaller than experiment. For ¯pp→γφ the rescattering contributions are negligible, but theγφ channel is well explained by aρφ intermediate state combined with vector meson dominance.  相似文献

At the internal facility COSY-11 a first measurement of the reaction near the production threshold has been performed. Results for the analysing power will be presented and a comparison with one-meson exchange models will be discussed.Received: 30 September 2002, Published online: 22 October 2003PACS: 12.40.Vv Vector-meson dominance - 13.60.Le Meson production - 13.88. + e Polarization in interactions and scattering - 24.70. + s Polarization phenomena in reactions  相似文献

Proton-proton and proton- $ \eta$ invariant-mass distributions and the total cross-section for the pp $ \rightarrow$ pp $ \eta$ reaction have been determined near the threshold at an excess energy of Q = 10 MeV. The experiment has been conducted using the COSY-11 detector setup and the cooler synchrotron COSY. The determined invariant-mass spectra reveal significant enhancements in the region of low proton-proton relative momenta, similarly as observed previously at higher excess energies of Q = 15.5 MeV and Q = 40 MeV.  相似文献

Kinematically complete measurements of the reaction were performed for beam energies in the range 292-298 MeV. We detected both protons in coincidence by using the large-acceptance COSY-TOF spectrometer and an external proton beam at COSY-JÃ&frac;lich; thus, we measured total and differential cross-sections and energy distributions. A strong enhancement was observed in the Dalitz plots due to the final-state interaction between the two outgoing protons; the data are well reproduced by Monte Carlo simulations using a standard scattering length of a0=-7.83 fm and effective range of r0=2.8 fm. Our measured total cross-sections are roughly larger than those of recent internal-target experiments at IUCF and CELSIUS. This discrepancy may be due to the final-state interaction pushing some events into the very small-angle region which is almost inaccessible to an internal-target experiment. In the angular distributions we found only very slight deviations from isotropy. The analysis of our momentum distributions yielded a small fraction of for Ps or Pp wave contributions.PACS:   13.75.Cs Nucleon-nucleon interactions (including antinucleons, deuterons, etc.) - 25.10.+s Nuclear reactions involving few-nucleon systems - 25.40.Ep Inelastic proton scattering - 29.20.Dh Storage rings  相似文献

Current algebra and partially conserved axial-vector current (PCAC) hypothesis are applied to study the proton-antiproton annihilation process \(\bar pp \to K^ + K^ - 4\pi ^0 \) , treating all the emitted pions as soft. While the σ-terms are ignored, the double commutators giving rise to the divergence of axial-vector currents and representing π?π effects are retained. We express the rate for the process in a fully differential form in terms of the chosen variables and normalize it to the differential rate for the corresponding process without the soft pions. Branching ratios obtained after numerical integration of the expressions are given for various centre-of-mass energies and compared with the available experimental data.  相似文献

Angular distributions for the exclusive reaction observed via the decay channel have been measured at GeV, 2.50 GeV and 2.85 GeV (excess energies Q = 324 MeV, 412 MeV and 554 MeV). The polar angle of the shows an anisotropy with respect to the beam direction for the lowest energy, which vanishes for the higher energies. The anisotropy of the pp polar angle increases slightly with the beam energy.Received: 30 September 2002, Published online: 22 October 2003PACS: 13.75.Cs Nucleon-nucleon interactions (including antinucleons, deuterons, etc.) - 14.40.Aq , K, and mesons - 25.40.Ve Other reactions above meson production thresholds (energies > 400 MeV)Y. The reactions pp + η and pn 0 η are of special interest for investigating the a 0(980) (J P=0+) resonance in the process NNda 0dπη. We study some aspects of those reactions within a general formalism and also in a concrete phenomenological model. In particular, it is shown that the presence of nonresonant (i.e., without excitation of the a 0 resonance) contributions to these reactions yields nonvanishing values for specific polarization observables, i.e., to effects like those generated by a 0 0 -f 0 mixing. An experimental determination of these observables for the reaction $\vec pp \to d\pi ^ + \eta $ would provide concrete information on the magnitude of those nonresonant contributions to πη production. We also discuss the possibility of extracting information about a 0 0 -f 0 mixing from the reaction $\vec pn \to d\pi ^0 \eta $ with a polarized proton beam.  相似文献

The modified additive quark model, proposed recently, allows one to improve the agreement of the standard additive quark model with the data on the and total cross-sections, as well as on the ratios of real to imaginary part of the pp and amplitudes att=0. Here, we extend this model to non-forward elastic scattering of protons and antiprotons. A high quality reproduction of the angular distributions at 19.4 GeV GeV is obtained. A zero at small in the real part of the even amplitude in accordance with a recently proved general high energy theorem is found. The possible existence of an oddC vacuum Regge pole (odderon) and its contribution to high-energy elastic \(\bar pp\) andpp scattering is studied in a model used earlier to fit data. A parametrization of the odderon which matches QCD is discussed.  相似文献
