For automorphism groups of operator algebras we show how properties of the difference t – ' t are reflected in relations between the generators , . Indeed for a von Neumann algebraM with separable predual we show that if t – 't 0.28 for smallt, then = 0(+)°-1 where is an inner automorphism ofM and is a bounded derivation ofM. If the difference t – ' t =O(t) ast ; 0, then = + and if t – ' t 0.28 for allt then =. We study the classical motion of an atom in the vicinity of an infinite straight wire which carries an oscillating uniform charge. This system has been proposed as a mechanism for trapping cold neutral atoms. The parameters of the problem are the magnitude Q and frequency of oscillation of the charge, the mass M and polarizability of the atom, and the angular momentum L of the atom about the wire. For 0 and 2MQ 2 greater than, but close to, L 2, we prove that the atom's radial motion is periodic (with period 2/), and that the atom moves in a helical path around the wire. For 2MQ 2 L 2 we prove that the atom must either collide with the wire or else escape to infinity in the radial direction.  相似文献

We present a zero magnetic field muon spin rotation study of-O2 (antiferromagnetic phase of solid oxygen) in the temperature range of 10–24 K. Static magnetic order has been observed below the- transition temperatureB =23.8 K. The temperature dependence of the muon precession frequency exhibits behavior characteristic of a two-dimensional Heisenberg spin-1 system with the anisotropy parameter 10–2 quite similar to that of antiferromagnetic phase of the high-temperature superconductor parent compounds. A unique local field at the muon site has been determined to beB 0=1.27(5) kG at low temperatures.  相似文献

We rigorously derive a linear kinetic equation of Fokker–Planck type for a 2-D Lorentz gas in which the obstacles are randomly distributed. Each obstacle of the Lorentz gas generates a potential V( ), where V is a smooth radially symmetric function with compact support, and >0. The density of obstacles diverges as , where >0. We prove that when 0< <1/8 and =2+1, the probability density of a test particle converges as 0 to a solution of our kinetic equation.  相似文献

Let us consider a Lie (super)algebra G spanned by T where T are quantum observables in BV formalism. It is proved that for every tensor c... that determines a homology class of the Lie algebra G the expression c...T...T is again a quantum observable. This theorem is used to construct quantum observables in the BV sigma model. We apply this construction to explain Kontsevich's results about the relation between homology of the Lie algebra of Hamiltonian vector fields and topological invariants of manifolds.  相似文献

The microstructure of fiber-like SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate was investigated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy techniques. The SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate consisted of a-SiC core and a -Si3N4 outer shell. Two kinds of composite particulate were distinguished when the observed orientation of the SiC core was <110>. In one type of the SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate, a crystal relationship of (111)-SiC | (102) -Si3N4 and (111)-SiC (114) -Si3N4 was identified; in the other type of the SiC/Si3N4 composite particulate, a crystal relationship of (111)-SiC (001) -Si3N4, and (111)-SiC (101) -Si3N4 was observed.  相似文献

We study the almost Mathieu operator: (H , , u)(n)=u(n+1)+u(n-1)+ cos (2n+)u(n), onl 2 (Z), and show that for all ,, and (Lebesgue) a.e. , the Lebesgue measure of its spectrum is precisely |4–2|. In particular, for ||=2 the spectrum is a zero measure cantor set. Under routine independence assumptions, one may then calculate a formula for the spectrum ofn(t), S n(), in terms of the probability density ofs, ps(). If any probability density ps() having the property ps() I for small is substituted into this formula, the calculated Sn() is such that Sn() 1 for small . However, this is not a spectrum of a well-defined random process; here, it is termed alimit spectrum. If a probability density having the property ps() for small , where > 0, is substituted into the formula instead, a spectrum is calculated which is indeed the spectrum of a well-defined random process. Also, if the latter ps is suitably close to the former ps, then the spectrum in the second case approximates, to an arbitrary, degree of accuracy, the limit spectrum. It is shown how one may thereby have 1/f noise with low-frequency turnover, and also strict 1/f 1– noise (the latter spectrum being integrable for > 0). Suitable examples are given. Using Eliashberg theory and a model density for 2 F the transition temperatureT c and the isotope effect are calculated near an extended van Hove singularity. We show that, at least in the one-particle and the Migdal approximation, even the considered strong van Hove singularity cannot yield large enhancements ofT c and strong reductions of of the kind observed in experiment around optimal doping.  相似文献

Using a focussing crystal spectrometer with photoelectric registration theK-emission spectrum of fluorine in solid lithium fluoride (=18.3 Å) was studied. If the spectrum is excited by Co or CuL-radiation or bremsstrahlung of a W-target the satellitesK 3 andK 4 appear with considerable intensity, whereas they appear only faintly ifL-radiation of Fe is used for excitation. In agreement with these observations the calculated threshold energies of the satellites are near the photon energy of FeL 1, 2. The measured energies of the components agree with values obtained from the energies of the singly and doubly ionized F ion as calculated by means of optical data. The results show that the satellitesK 3 andK 4 in the spectrum of fluorine in solid LiF correspond to transitions in the doubly ionized F-ion.  相似文献

We suggest a new method for investigating scaling properties of mesoscopic observables and their distributions in disordered systems showing metal-insulator transition. In such systems quantum interference effects lead to multifractal structure of eigenstates on scales much smaller than the correlation length of the transition which can be described by a set of exponents, thef() spectrum. The analysis off() spectra can be extended to any scaling variable. Multifractality is an indication for broad distributions of these variables. If the transition is governed by one correlation length only then thef() spectra of normalized scaling variables must be universal. The critical exponentv of the correlation length is determined by the value (0) wheref() takes its maximum and the scaling exponent of normalizationxv –1=(0)+x. As an illustrative example we calculate numerically thef() spectra of eigenstates in the critical regime of 2d disordered electron systems in high magnetic fields. Given a Riemannian structure (M, g), a hypothesis is investigated that if= p=0 n p (M) is submitted to the differential condition (g++)=0, =mc/—which implies that each component of fulfills the Klein-Gordon equation (- 2) p =0, ought to be interpreted as a natural complex of the bosonic fields. Then it is found that the complex admits the interpretation in the sense of first quantization with (M) being a convex set of states, with the structure of a Hilbert space over . The strength of Einstein's empty-space field equations is computed anew and shown to be equal to the amount of initial data required for a local solution of the equations. This same amount of initial data is shown to be precisely that required for a set of 16 unknown first-order differential equations containing 10 field variables and having six identities of second order. The 10 field variables must be functions of second order in the metric coefficients. The 16 field equationsC , = 0 whereC is Weyl's conformal tensor, are shown to have the same properties as those of the unknown equations, suggesting thatC = 0 is a satisfactory local first-order formulation of Einstein's second-order empty-space field equations.  相似文献

We revisit the q-deformed counterpart of the Zassenhaus formula, expressing the Jackson q-exponential of the sum of two non-q-commuting operators as an (in general) infinite product of q-exponential operators involving repeated q-commutators of increasing order, Eq(A+B) = Eq0(A)Eq1 (B) i=2 Eqi. By systematically transforming the q-exponentials into exponentials of series and using the conventional Baker–Campbell–Hausdorff formula, we prove that one can make any choice for the bases qi, i=0, 1, 2, ..., of the q-exponentials in the infinite product. An explicit calculation of the operators C i in the successive factors, carried out up to sixth order, also shows that the simplest q-Zassenhaus formula is obtained for 0 = 1 =1, and 2 = 2, and 3 = 3. This confirms and reinforces a result of Sridhar and Jagannathan, on the basis of fourth-order calculations.  相似文献

We present upper bounds on the critical temperature of one-dimensional Ising models with long-range,l/n interactions, where 1<2. In particular for the often studied case of =2 we have an upper bound onT c which is less than theT c found by a number of approximation techniques. Also for the case where is small, such as =1.1, we obtain rigorous bounds which are extremely close, within 1.0%, to those found by approximation methods.  相似文献
