Abstract Jajte introduced the operator semi-stable distributions on R n in [2] and proved an important fact: A full distribution μ is operator semi-stable, if and only if, there exist a number c(0 < c < 1), a vector h ∈ R n , and a nonsingular linear operator B in R n such that the formula μ c = Bμ*δ(h) holds. In this paper, we make use of the eigenvalue of the matrix B to give a necessary and sufficient condition for ∫|x|≤1|x| r M(dx) < ∞, where M is the Lévy measure of μ. A discrete multivariate probability distribution for dependent random variables, which contains the Poisson and Geometric conditionals distributions as particular cases, is characterized by means of conditional expectations of arbitrary one-to-one functions. Independence of the random variables is also characterized in terms of these conditional expectations. For certain exchangeable and partially exchangeable random variables with a joint distribution of this form it is shown that maximum likelihood estimates coincide with the simple method of moments estimates, suggesting that these models offer a pragmatic way to analyze certain dependent data. 相似文献

Recurrence relations for integrals that involve the density of multivariate normal distributions are developed. These recursions allow fast computation of the moments of folded and truncated multivariate normal distributions. We study isospectral sets for a discrete 1D Schrodinger operator on ℤ with an (N + 1)-periodic potential. We show that for
small odd potentials, the isospectral set consists of 2(N + 1)/2 elements, while for large potentials, the isospectral set consists of (N +1)! elements. Moreover, asymptotics for endpoints
of the spectrum of the Schrodinger operator for small (and large) potentials are determined. Bibliography: 5 titles.

A new method of constructing elliptic finite-gap solutions of the stationary Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) hierarchy, based on a theorem due to PICARD , is illustrated in the concrete case of the Lamé-Ince potentials -s(s + 1) ρ(z), sε (ρ(.) the elliptic Weierstrass function). This paper considers parameter estimation of a class of discrete multi-variate phase-type distributions (DMPH). Such discrete phase-type distributions are based on discrete Markov chains with marked transitions introduced by He and Neuts (Stoch Process Appl 74(1):37–52, 1998) and is a generalization of the discrete univariate phase–type distributions. Properties of the DMPHs are presented. An EM-algorithm is developed for estimating the parameters for DMPHs.
