Let be the variety of irreducible sextics with six cusps as singularities. Let be one of irreducible components of . Denoting by the space of moduli of smooth curves of genus 4, we consider the rational map sending the general point [Γ] of Σ, corresponding to a plane curve , to the point of parametrizing the normalization curve of Γ. The number of moduli of Σ is, by definition the dimension of Π(Σ). We know that , where ρ(2, 4, 6) is the Brill–Noether number of linear series of dimension 2 and degree 6 on a curve of genus 4. We prove that both irreducible components of have number of moduli equal to seven.   相似文献

Suppose that {T t  : t  ≥  0} is a symmetric diffusion semigroup on L 2(X) and denote by its tensor product extension to the Bochner space , where belongs to a certain broad class of UMD spaces. We prove a vector-valued version of the Hopf–Dunford–Schwartz ergodic theorem and show that this extends to a maximal theorem for analytic continuations of on . As an application, we show that such continuations exhibit pointwise convergence.  相似文献

Let V and V′ be 2n-dimensional vector spaces over fields F and F′. Let also Ω: V× VF and Ω′: V′× V′→ F′ be non-degenerate symplectic forms. Denote by Π and Π′ the associated (2n−1)-dimensional projective spaces. The sets of k-dimensional totally isotropic subspaces of Π and Π′ will be denoted by and ${\mathcal G}'_{k}$, respectively. Apartments of the associated buildings intersect and by so-called base subsets. We show that every mapping of to sending base subsets to base subsets is induced by a symplectic embedding of Π to Π′.  相似文献

For a degree 2n real d-dimensional multisequence to have a representing measure μ, it is necessary for the associated moment matrix to be positive semidefinite and for the algebraic variety associated to β, , to satisfy rank card as well as the following consistency condition: if a polynomial vanishes on , then . We prove that for the extremal case , positivity of and consistency are sufficient for the existence of a (unique, rank -atomic) representing measure. We also show that in the preceding result, consistency cannot always be replaced by recursiveness of . Let C be a genus 2 curve and the moduli space of semi-stable rank 2 vector bundles on C with trivial determinant. In Bolognesi (Adv Geom 7(1):113–144, 2007) we described the parameter space of non stable extension classes of the canonical sheaf ω of C by ω−1. In this paper, we study the classifying rational map that sends an extension class to the corresponding rank two vector bundle. Moreover, we prove that, if we blow up along a certain cubic surface S and at the point p corresponding to the bundle , then the induced morphism defines a conic bundle that degenerates on the blow up (at p) of the Kummer surface naturally contained in . Furthermore we construct the -bundle that contains the conic bundle and we discuss the stability and deformations of one of its components.  相似文献

The main result of this work is a Dancer-type bifurcation result for the quasilinear elliptic problem
((P))
Here, Ω is a bounded domain in denotes the Dirichlet p-Laplacian on , and is a spectral parameter. Let μ1 denote the first (smallest) eigenvalue of −Δ p . Under some natural hypotheses on the perturbation function , we show that the trivial solution is a bifurcation point for problem (P) and, moreover, there are two distinct continua, and , consisting of nontrivial solutions to problem (P) which bifurcate from the set of trivial solutions at the bifurcation point (0, μ1). The continua and are either both unbounded in E, or else their intersection contains also a point other than (0, μ1). For the semilinear problem (P) (i.e., for p = 2) this is a classical result due to E. N. Dancer from 1974. We also provide an example of how the union looks like (for p > 2) in an interesting particular case. Our proofs are based on very precise, local asymptotic analysis for λ near μ1 (for any 1 < p < ∞) which is combined with standard topological degree arguments from global bifurcation theory used in Dancer’s original work. Let G be the symmetric group . It is an important open problem whether the dimension of the Nichols algebra is finite when is the class of the transpositions and ρ is the sign representation, with m ≥ 6. In the present paper, we discard most of the other conjugacy classes showing that very few pairs might give rise to finite-dimensional Nichols algebras. We study several deformation functors associated to the normalization of a reduced curve singularity . The main new results are explicit formulas, in terms of classical invariants of (X, 0), for the cotangent cohomology groups T i , i  =  0,1,2, of these functors. Thus we obtain precise statements about smoothness and dimension of the corresponding local moduli spaces. We apply the results to obtain explicit formulas, respectively, estimates for the -codimension of a parametrized curve singularity, where denotes the Mather–Wall group of left-right equivalence.  相似文献

Let be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on a complex Banach space X and γ(T) be the reduced minimum modulus of operator . In this work, we prove that if , is a surjective linear map such that is an invertible operator, then , for every , if and only if, either there exist two bijective isometries and such that for every , or there exist two bijective isometries and such that for every . This generalizes for a Banach space the Mbekhta’s theorem [12].   相似文献

Let be the group of polynomial automorphisms of the complex affine plane. On one hand, can be endowed with the structure of an infinite dimensional algebraic group (see Shafarevich in Math USSR Izv 18:214–226, 1982) and on the other hand there is a partition of according to the multidegree (see Friedland and Milnor in Ergod Th Dyn Syst 9:67–99, 1989). Let denote the set of automorphisms whose multidegree is equal to d. We prove that is a smooth, locally closed subset of and show some related results. We give some applications to the study of the varieties (resp. ) of automorphisms whose degree is equal to m (resp. is less than or equal to m).  相似文献

S. Bauer and M. Furuta defined a stable cohomotopy refinement of the Seiberg–Witten invariants. In this paper, we prove a vanishing theorem of Bauer–Furuta invariants for 4-manifolds with smooth -actions. As an application, we give a constraint on smooth -actions on homotopy K3#K3, and construct a nonsmoothable locally linear -action on K3#K3. We also construct a nonsmoothable locally linear -action on K3.   相似文献

We consider one-dimensional difference Schr?dinger equations with real analytic function V(x). Suppose V(x) is a small perturbation of a trigonometric polynomial V 0(x) of degree k 0, and assume positive Lyapunov exponents and Diophantine ω. We prove that the integrated density of states is H?lder continuous for any k > 0. Moreover, we show that is absolutely continuous for a.e. ω. Our approach is via finite volume bounds. I.e., we study the eigenvalues of the problem on a finite interval [1, N] with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Then the averaged number of these Dirichlet eigenvalues which fall into an interval , does not exceed , k > 0. Moreover, for , this averaged number does not exceed exp , for any . For the integrated density of states of the problem this implies that for any . To investigate the distribution of the Dirichlet eigenvalues of on a finite interval [1, N] we study the distribution of the zeros of the characteristic determinants with complexified phase x, and frozen ω, E. We prove equidistribution of these zeros in some annulus and show also that no more than 2k 0 of them fall into any disk of radius exp. In addition, we obtain the lower bound (with δ > 0 arbitrary) for the separation of the eigenvalues of the Dirichlet eigenvalues over the interval [0, N]. This necessarily requires the removal of a small set of energies. Received: February 2006, Accepted: December 2007  相似文献

Let X be a regular irreducible variety in , Y the associated homogeneous variety in , and N the restriction of the universal bundle of to X. In the present paper, we compute the obstructions to solving the -equation in the L p -sense on Y for 1 ≤  p ≤  ∞ in terms of cohomology groups . That allows to identify obstructions explicitly if X is specified more precisely, for example if it is equivalent to or an elliptic curve.   相似文献

We shall call quantum states of a principal bundle π : PM with structure group a semi-simple Lie group G, the elements of certain space of sections of the adjoint bundle , associated to the G-bundle of connections . An inner product of sections of is defined for which is a Hilbert space such that the Gauge group gau(P) of the given bundle represents in a family of self-adjoint operators. This work crystallizes some heuristic considerations, on the unitary representations of Gauge algebras, of Garcia in the already a classical article (J. Differ. Geom. 12, 209–227, 1977).  相似文献

A new class of partial order-types, class is defined and investigated here. A poset P is in the class iff the poset algebra F(P) is generated by a better quasi-order G that is included in L(P). The free Boolean algebra F(P) and its free distributive lattice L(P) have been defined in [ABKR]. The free Boolean algebra F(P) contains the partial order P and is generated by it: F(P) has the following universal property. If B is any Boolean algebra and f is any order-preserving map from P into a Boolean algebra B, then f can be extended to a homomorphism of F(P) into B. We also define L(P) as the sublattice of F(P) generated by P. We prove that if P is any well quasi-ordering, then L(P) is well founded, and is a countable union of well quasi-orderings. We prove that the class is contained in the class of well quasi-ordered sets. We prove that is preserved under homomorphic image, finite products, and lexicographic sum over better quasi-ordered index sets. We prove also that every countable well quasi-ordered set is in . We do not know, however if the class of well quasi-ordered sets is contained in . Additional results concern homomorphic images of posets algebras. Let G = (V, E) be a any simple, undirected graph on n ≥ 3 vertices with the degree sequence . We consider the class of graphs satisfying the condition where , is a positive integer. It is known that is hamiltonian if θ ≤ δ. In this paper,
(i)  we give a necessary and sufficient condition, easy to check, ensuring that is nonhamiltonian and we characterize all the exceptional sub-classes.
(ii)  we prove that is either bipartite or contains cycles of all lengths from 3 to c(G), the length of a longest cycle in G.

For finitely generated groups G and H, we prove that there is a weak equivalence G H (G × H) of ku-algebra spectra, where denotes the “unitary deformation K-theory” functor. Additionally, we give spectral sequences for computing the homotopy groups of G and HG in terms of connective K-theory and homology of spaces of G-representations.  相似文献
