We prove that arbitrary superharmonic functions and superparabolic functions related to the p-Laplace and the p-parabolic equations are locally obtained as limits of supersolutions with desired convergence properties of the corresponding Riesz measures. As an application we show that a family of uniformly bounded supersolutions to the p-parabolic equation contains a subsequence that converges to a supersolution.  相似文献

We study the existence of solutions to the porous medium equation with a nonnegative, finite Radon measure on the right-hand side. We show that such problems have solutions in a wide class of supersolutions. These supersolutions are defined as lower semicontinuous functions obeying a parabolic comparison principle with respect to continuous solutions. We also consider the question of how the integrability of the gradient of solutions is affected if the measure is given by a function in L s , for a small exponent s > 1.  相似文献

A nonliner potenitial theory for the supersolutions of equations similar to the p-Laplacian is studied on quasi open setes. We also introduce Sobolev spaces W1, p(U) and W1 p o on quasi sets. The equivalence of several possible definitions of such spaces, as well as completencess, density results and an analogue of Baby's theorem, are proved. The basic probperties of supersolutions to the above equation on quasi open sets and corresponding finely A-superharmonic functions (a nonlinear version of Fugleds's concept) are investigated. We prove that each bounded finely superharmonic function is a fine supersoluan asymptotic corrdinate path along which an unbounded A-subharmonie function grows to indinity  相似文献

We study the balayage related to the supersolutions of the variable exponent p(·)-Laplace equation. We prove the fundamental convergence theorem for the balayage and apply it for proving the Kellogg property, boundary regularity results for the balayage, and a removability theorem for p(·)-solutions.  相似文献

We characterize functions satisfying a dissipative inequality associated with a control problem. Such a characterization is provided in terms of an epicontingent solution, or a viscosity supersolution to a partial differential equation called Isaacs' equation. Links between supersolutions and epicontingent solutions to Isaacs' equation are studied. The strong maximum principle is proved to hold for weak (in the sense of support functions) sub- and supersolutions to a class of quasi-linear elliptic equations that includes the mean curvature equation for C0-space-like hypersurfaces in a Lorentzian manifold. We introduce a new method for proving the nonexistence of positive supersolutions of elliptic inequalities in unbounded domains of ? n . The simplicity and robustness of our maximum principle-based argument provides for its applicability to many elliptic inequalities and systems, including quasilinear operators such as the p-Laplacian, and nondivergence form fully nonlinear operators such as Bellman-Isaacs operators. Our method gives new and optimal results in terms of the nonlinear functions appearing in the inequalities, and applies to inequalities holding in the whole space as well as exterior domains and cone-like domains.  相似文献

We prove the Cartan and Choquet properties for the fine topology on a complete metric space equipped with a doubling measure supporting a p-Poincaré inequality, 1 < p < ∞. We apply these key tools to establish a fine version of the Kellogg property, characterize finely continuous functions by means of quasicontinuous functions, and show that capacitary measures associated with Cheeger supersolutions are supported by the fine boundary of the set.  相似文献

Summary In this paper we prove a Harnack type inequality for non-negative solutions and supersolutions of second order quasilinear elliptic equations on hypersurfaces (inR n) of Lp prescribed mean curvature, with p>n. In the last section an application to non-parametric surfaces of Lipschitz mean curvature is given.

The paper deals with the time‐dependent linear heat equation with a non‐linear and non‐local boundary condition that arises when considering the radiation balance. Solutions are considered to be functions with values in V := {vH1(Ω)∣γvL5(∂Ω)}. As a consequence one has to work with non‐standard Sobolev spaces. The existence of solutions was proved by using a Galerkin‐based approximation scheme. Because of the non‐Hilbert character of the space V and the non‐local character of the boundary conditions, convergence of the Galerkin approximations is difficult to prove. The advantage of this approach is that we don't have to make assumptions about sub‐ and supersolutions. Finally, continuity of the solutions with respect to time is analysed. We show that large positive solutions exist for the semilinear elliptic equation Δu = p(x)u α + q(x)v β on bounded domains in R n , n ≥ 3, for the superlinear case 0 < α ≤ β, β > 1, but not the sublinear case 0 < α ≤ β ≤ 1. We also show that entire large positive solutions exist for both the superlinear and sublinear cases provided the nonnegative continuous functions p and q satisfy certain decay conditions at infinity. Existence and nonexistence of entire bounded solutions are established as well.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider generalized BBM equation with nonlinear terms of high order.In the case of p=1/2, p=1 and p=2, the exact periodic solutions to G-BBM equation are obtained by means of proper transformation, which degrades the order of nonlinear terms. And we prove that if p ≠ 1/2,p ≠ 1 or p ≠ 2, G-BBM equation does not exist this kind of periodic solution.  相似文献

We study the spectral properties of a large class of compact flat Riemannian manifolds of dimension 4, namely, those whose corresponding Bieberbach groups have the canonical lattice as translation lattice. By using the explicit expression of the heat trace of the Laplacian acting on p-forms, we determine all p-isospectral and L-isospectral pairs and we show that in this class of manifolds, isospectrality on functions and isospectrality on p-forms for all values of p are equivalent to each other. The list shows for any p, 1 ≤ p ≤ 3, many p-isospectral pairs that are not isospectral on functions and have different lengths of closed geodesics. We also determine all length isospectral pairs (i.e. with the same length multiplicities), showing that there are two weak length isospectral pairs that are not length isospectral, and many pairs, p-isospectral for all p and not length isospectral.
