The acid-base equilibria of triethylenetetramine. (Trien) and the formation equilibria of binary and ternary complexes of Zn(II) with Trien as primary ligand and some selected arnino acids and DNA units as secondary ligands have been investigated. The results showed the formation of a 11 Zn (Trien)2+ complex. At higher pH, the Zn (Trien)2+ complex is hydrolysed to give Zn (Trien) (OH)+ and Zn(Trien)(OH)2 complexes. The fraction of the monohydroxo species attains a maximum of 81.3% at pH 10. The stability constantsK

for the ternary complexes were determined. Histidine coordinates in a histamine-like way. Lysine and ornithine ligate by the two amino groups. Serine and methionine are bound in a glycine-like mode. However, penicillamine, cysteine and glutathione ligate partly like mercaptoethylamine and partly like mercaptopropionic acid. In the case of DNA complexes, inosine is bound through the n1 atom. However, uracil, undine, thymine and thymidine ligate through the N3 atom. The relative stabilities of ternary complexes are compared with those of the corresponding binary complexes in terms of logK values. The ternary complexes of [CuII(Hist)(Tyr)]+1 and [CuII(Hist)(Trp)]+2 have been synthesized, structurally characterized and their DNA binding and cleavage abilities probed. The intrinsic binding constants (Kb) for complexes/CT-DNA were also determined (Kb = 2.7 × 102 for complex 1 and Kb = 2.2 × 102 for complex 2). These complexes exhibit their nuclease activity on plasmid DNA, which seems to depend on the nature of the aromatic moiety. The DNA hydrolytic cleavage rate constants were also determined for complexes 1 and 2, which are 0.91 and 0.79 h−1, respectively. 相似文献

Summary The acid-base equilibria of propane 1,2,3-triamine (PTA) and the formation equilibria of binary and ternary complexes of palladium(II) withPTA as primary ligand and amino acid, peptide, and DNA subunits as secondary ligand have been investigated. Pd(II) is found to form a 1:1 complex withPTA. The ternary complexes are formed in a stepwise mechanism, wherebyPTA first binds to Pd(II) and then ligates to the secondary ligand. The hydrolysis of the Pd-PTA complex and the deprotonation of the amide residues in the peptide complexes are discussed in relation to physiological conditions.

Zusammenfassung Das Säure-Basen-Gleichgewicht von Propan-1,2,3-triamin (PTA) und die Bildungsgleichgewichte von binären und ternären Komplexen von Pd(II) mitPTA als Primärligand und Aminosäuren, Peptiden und DNA-Einheiten als Sekundärliganden wurden untersucht. Pd(II) bildet mitPTA einen 1:1-Komplex. Die ternären Komplexe werden stufenweise gebildet, wobeiPTA zuerst an Pd(II) koordiniert; dann erfolgt die Bindung an den Sekundärliganden. Die Hydrolyse des Pd-PTA-Komplexes und die Deprotonierung der Amide in den Peptidkomplexen werden im Zusammenhang mit physiologischen Bedingungen diskutiert.相似文献

Abstract Solution equilibria of binary copper(II) complexes with (S)-leucinehydroxamic acid and of ternary complexes with (R)- or (S)-amino acids (valine, proline, phenylalanine, tryptophan) were studied by potentiometry and electronic spectrophotometry at T=25°C and I= 0.5moldm?3 (KCl). The mixed species [CuLA] and [CuLH-IA]? (L?=leucinehydroxamate, A?= aminoacidate), do not present stereoselectivity, but are strongly stabilized with respect to their parent binary complexes. Reactions of fresh M(OH)2 (M = Zn2+, Cd2+) precipitate and (RS)-2-methylglutaric acid (H2MGL), 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy), or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in aqueous solution at 50°C afforded four new metal–organic complexes [Zn2(bipy)2(H2O)2(MGL)2] (1), [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)(MGL)2] (2), [Cd(bipy)(H2O)(MGL)] · 3H2O (3), and [Cd(phen)(H2O)(MGL)] · 2H2O (4), which were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectra, TG/DTA analysis as well as fluorescence spectra. In 1, the [Zn(bipy)(H2O)]2+ moieties are linked by R- and S-2-methylglutarate anions to build up the centrosymmetric dinuclear [Zn2(bipy)2(H2O)2(MGL)2] molecules. In 2, the 1-D ribbon-like chains [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)(MGL)2] n can be visualized as from centrosymmetric dinuclear [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)2(MGL)2] units sharing common aqua ligands. Both 3 and 4 exhibit 1-D chains resulting from [Cd(bipy)(H2O)]2+ and [Cd(phen)(H2O)]2+, respectively, bridged alternately by R- and S-2-methylglutarate anions in bis-chelating fashion. The intermolecular and interchain π···π stacking interactions form supramolecular assemblies in 1 and 1-D chains in 2–4 into 2-D layers. The hydrogen bonded lattice H2O molecules are sandwiched between 2-D layers in 3 and 4. Fluorescence spectra of 1–4 exhibit LLCT π → π* transitions. 相似文献

Preparation and characterization of Mg(II)-, Ca(II) and Cd(II) complexes of 1,2-ethanediol and water
Mixed ligand complexes of different compositions were prepared with water, sulfate ion and 1,2-ethanediol as ligand. IR spectra and the thermoanalytical curves of the complexes were recorded. Oxygen atoms bound by one or two coordinate bonds to the metal ion, or by hydrogen-bonds in the crystal, were observed. As for the water molecule, 1,2-ethanediol molecules of crystal and monohydrate type were found, depending on the type of binding of the oxygen atoms.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date. 相似文献

The new complexes [Co(ecpzdtc)3] (2) [Zn(ecpzdtc)2(py)] (3) and [Cd(ecpzdtc)2(py)]·H2O (4) have been synthesized from sodium 1-ethoxycarbonyl-piperazine-4-carbodithioate [(Na+(ecpzdtc)−]. The ligand and the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, magnetic susceptibility and single crystal X-ray data. The [Zn(ecpzdtc)2(py)] and [Cd(ecpzdtc)2(py)]·H2O complexes contain pyridine as the co-ligand. [Co(ecpzdtc)3] (2) crystallizes in the monoclinic system, whereas [Zn(ecpzdtc)2(py)] (3) and [Cd(ecpzdtc)2(py)]·H2O (4) crystallize in the triclinic system. The sulfur donor sites of the bidentate ligand chelate the metal center, forming a four-membered CS2M ring. The cobalt complex has a distorted octahedral geometry, the zinc complex is almost between trigonal bipyramidal and square pyramidal, whereas the cadmium complex is square pyramidal. The crystal structures of all the complexes are stabilized by various types of inter and intramolecular hydrogen bonding. 相似文献

Nine platinum(II) complexes containing reduced amino acid ester Schiff bases were synthesized and characterized using spectroscopy (1H NMR, 13C NMR, infrared), elemental analysis and molar conductivity. The interaction of these complexes with salmon sperm DNA was investigated by means of ultraviolet and circular dichroism spectroscopies. The potential antitumor activity of all compounds was tested in vitro on HeLa and A549 tumor cell lines. Almost all the complexes exhibited better cytotoxic activity than cisplatin against these cell lines. 相似文献

Three new mononuclear complexes [Co(2-Acpy)2(H2O)2](NO3)2 (1), [Ni(2-Acpy)2(H2O)2](NO3)2 (2) and [Cd(2-Acpy)2(NO3)2] (3) (2-Acpy = 2-acetylpyridine) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The structures of 1 and 3 were accomplished by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Crystallographic investigation of 1 reveals monomeric, dicationic units in which the cobalt(II) ion is six-coordinate. The coordination sphere is formed by two N, O bidentate acetylpyridine ligands and two water molecules. The crystal structure of 3 consists of monomeric units in which the cadmium is eight-coordinate. Both the organic ligand and nitrate groups are bidentate chelators. The supramolecular solid-state architecture is sustained by π–π interactions. 相似文献

Reactions of cadmium(II) with 5-(4-carboxybenzylamino)isophthalic acid (H3L) in the presence of 2-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole (pybim) and 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) by hydrothermal method lead to two complexes, [Cd(HL)(pybim)]·H2O (1) and [Cd2(L)(HCOO)(bpy)2(H2O)]·H2O (2). Complexes 1 and 2 have been characterized by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, Infrared spectra, and elemental and thermogravimetric analyses. 1 has a double-chain structure while 2 consists of uninodal 3-connected 2-D hcb networks with (63) topology. The interaction of zinc(II), lead(II), and cadmium(II) with Glutathione (S‐L‐glutamyl‐Lcysteinylglycine) as primary ligand and zwitterionic buffers (N‐[2‐Hydroxyethyl]piperazine‐N′‐[2‐ethanesulfonic acid]) (HEPES) and (N‐Hydroxyethyl]piperazine‐N′‐[2‐hydroxy‐propanesulfonic acid]) (HEPPSO) as secondary ligands were studied by potentiometric‐pH titration in 1:1:1 ratio at 25.0 °C and I = 0.1 mol.dm?3 (KNO3). The formation constants of different normal and protonated binary and ternary complex species were calculated. Formation constants for the monohydroxy, and dihydroxy complexes for the binary systems M(II) + HEPES and M(II) + HEPPSO have been evaluated. Quercetin manganese(II) complexes were investigated focusing on its DNA hydrolytic activity. The complexes successfully promote the cleavage of plasmid DNA, producing single and double DNA strand breaks. The amount of conversion of supercoiled form (SC) of plasmid DNA to the nicked circular form (NC) depends on the concentration of the complex as well as the duration of incubation of the complexes with DNA. The maximum rate of conversion of the supercoiled form to the nicked circular form at pH 7.2 in the presence of 100 μM of the complexes is found to be 1.32 × 10−4 s−1. The hydrolytic cleavage of DNA by the complexes was supported by the evidence from free radical quenching, thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) assay and T4 ligase ligation. 相似文献

Isothiocyanate complexes of Zn(II) and Cd(II) with the condensation product of 2,6-diacetylpyridine and trimethylammoniumacetohydrazide (Girard’s T reagent) were synthesized, characterized, and their antimicrobial activities were evaluated. The structures of the complexes were determined by elemental analysis, IR, and NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of the Zn(II) complex was also determined. Quantum-chemical calculations of the geometry and total energy of isomers of 2,6-diacetylpyridine-bis(trimethylammoniumacetohydrazone) were performed in vacuum and methanol solution, with the aim to explain conformational behavior and E/Z isomerism of this compound. DFT calculations of the molecular structures and the relative stabilities of linkage isomers of the Cd(II) complex showed that the isomer with N–Cd–N coordination of SCN? is the most stable. Complexes of Zn(II) and Cd(II) exhibited low to moderate activity against the tested microbial strains. 相似文献

New complexes of Cd(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II) with 2-quinolinecarboxaldehyde selenosemicarbazone (Hqasesc) were synthesized and structurally characterized. The structure of the ligand, Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes was determined by NMR and IR spectroscopy, elemental microanalysis and molar conductivity measurements. Both complexes occur in solution in two forms, the major tetrahedral and minor octahedral. In the major Cd(II) complex one qasesc− ligand is coordinated as a tridentate, the fourth coordination site being occupied by acetate, while in the major Zn(II) complex two qasesc− ligands are coordinated as bidentates. In both minor complexes two qasesc− ligands are coordinated as tridentates forming the octahedral geometry around the central metal ion. The only paramagnetic complex in the series is Ni(II) complex for which X-ray structure analysis was performed. The complex has the angularly distorted octahedral geometry with two qasesc− ligands coordinated as tridentates, in a similar way as in the minor complexes of Cd(II) and Zn(II). 相似文献

Hydrolysis of DNA is an important enzymatic reaction , but it is exceedingly difficult to mimic in the laboratory because of the stability of hydrolysis of DNA. In this paper, the cleavage activity of complexes formed between Cu(Ⅱ) and four different amino acid or amino acid methyl ester on DNA is studied by gel elec-trophoresis. It is found that DNA could be cleaved by Cu(Ⅱ)-L-His and Cu(Ⅱ)-L-His methyl ester complexes and the efficiency of cleavage is largely dependent on the metal ion-to-ligand ratio. Further experiments show that the cleavage of DNA mediated by Cu(Ⅱ)-L-His complexes occurs via a hydrolytic mechanism and the active chemical species that affects DNA cleavage is proposed to be MI2H and ML2H22 . 相似文献

Hydration of the copper(II) bis‐complexes with glycine, serine, lysine, and aspartic acid was studied by DFT and MD simulation methods. The distances between copper(II) and water molecules in the 1st and 2nd coordination shells, the average number of water molecules and their mean residence times in the hydration shells were calculated. Good agreement was observed between the values obtained and those found by DFT and NMR relaxation methods. Influence of the functional groups of the ligands and the cis–trans isomerism of the complexes on the structural and dynamical parameters of the hydration shells was displayed and explained. Analysis of the MD trajectories reveals the competition for a copper(II) axial position between water molecules or water molecules and the functional chain groups of the ligands and confirms the suggestion on the pentacoordination of copper(II) in such complexes. MD simulations show that only one axial position of Cu(II) is basically occupied at each time step while in average the coordination number more than 5 is observed. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献

Two new acylhydrazone copper(II) complexes of 4‐hydroxy‐N′‐[(1E)‐1‐(4‐methylphenyl)ethylidene]benzohydrazide (HL1) and 4 ethyl [4‐({(2E)‐2‐[1‐(4‐methylphenyl)ethylidene]hydrazinyl}carbonyl)phenoxy]acetate (HL2) have been synthesized and characterized. The structures of both acylhydrazone and copper(II) complexes were identified by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, UV–visible electronic absorption spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, TGA and powder X‐ray diffraction. DNA binding and DNA cleavage activities of the synthesized copper complexes were examined by using UV‐visible titration and agarose gel electrophoresis, respectively. The effect of complex concentration on the DNA cleavage reactions in the absence and presence of H2O2 was also investigated. The results indicate that all the complexes bind slightly to calf thymus DNA and cleavage pBR322 DNA. The mechanistic studies demonstrate that a hydrogen peroxide‐derived species and singlet oxygen (1O2) are the active oxidative species for DNA cleavage. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

A copper(II) ion-selective-electrode potentiometric method was used to determine the first and second hydrolysis constants of Cu2+. Special techniques prevented copper(II) hydroxide precipitation, and copper(II) carbonate and cipper(II) organic complexation during the titration of the experimental solution over the pH range 6.8–8.4. The large change in the total copper concentration during the titration due to adsorption of copper onto the vessel walls was accounted for by measuring the total copper concentration at each pH by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The two hydrolysis constants were determined at 25°C in 0.7 and 0.05m NaClO4 media. The measured stability constants are independent of the copper concentration and yield similar zero ionic strength values. Also, the stepwise equilibrium constants decrease as the ligand number increases. 相似文献

The reaction of 8-aminoquinoline (8-aq) with M(NO3)2 and M(ClO4)2 (where M = Zn, Cd and Hg) has synthesized complexes of the composition [M(8-aq)2(H2O)2](X)2 (X = NO3, ClO4) whereas MCl2 has isolated M(8-aq)Cl2 type non-ionic compounds. The reaction of M(OAc)2, 8-aq and NaN3/NH4CNS in a 1:1:2 mole ratio has separated polynuclear complexes of the composition [M(8-aq)(Y)2]n (Y = N3, NCS). The complexes have been characterized by spectroscopic data and have been structurally confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction study in some representative cases. The X-ray structure of [Zn(8-aq)2(H2O)2](NO3)2 shows C–H–π, and π–π interactions and forms a H-bonded sheet (with interactions between the oxygen of NO3 and C(9)–H of 8-aq/coordinated H2O). A novel one-dimensional cadmium(II) azido complex, [Cd(8-aq)(N3)2]n (9), in which the azido takes on an end-on (EO) bridging mode, has been synthesized and characterized. The presence of π–π interactions result in a supramolecular two-dimensional behaviour for the structure. The complexes are photoluminescent at room temperature. 相似文献
