A construction is given for a (p2a(p+1),p2,p2a+1(p+1),p2a+1,p2a(p+1)) (p a prime) divisible difference set in the group H×Z2pa+1 where H is any abelian group of order p+1. This can be used to generate a symmetric semi-regular divisible design; this is a new set of parameters for λ1≠0, and those are fairly rare. We also give a construction for a (pa−1+pa−2+…+p+2,pa+2, pa(pa+pa−1+…+p+1), pa(pa−1+…+p+1), pa−1(pa+…+p2+2)) divisible difference set in the group H×Zp2×Zap. This is another new set of parameters, and it corresponds to a symmetric regular divisible design. For p=2, these parameters have λ12, and this corresponds to the parameters for the ordinary Menon difference sets.  相似文献

Let p be an odd prime and q = 2(p-1).Up to total degree t-s max{(5p~3+ 6p~2+ 6 p +4)q-10,p~4q},the generators of H~(s,t)(U(L)),the cohomology of the universal enveloping algebra of a bigraded Lie algebra L,are determined and their convergence is also verified.Furthermore our results reveal that this cohomology satisfies an analogous Poinare duality property.This largely generalizes an earlier classical results due to J.P.May.  相似文献

From this result we deduce, for a stationary T-dependent process with a.s. continuous path {Ys}, a similar, in terms of P{max0skTYs<u}, k=1,2 formula for P{max0stYsu}, t>3T and apply this formula to the process Ys=W(s+1)−W(s), s0, where {W(s)} is the Wiener process. We consider a family of second-order elliptic operators {L_ε} in divergence form with rapidly oscillating and periodic coefficients in Lipschitz and convex domains in R~n. We are able to show that the uniform W~(1,p) estimate of second order elliptic systems holds for 2n/(n+1)-δ p 2n/(n-1)+ δ where δ 0 is independent of ε and the ranges are sharp for n = 2, 3. And for elliptic equations in Lipschitz domains, the W~(1,p) estimate is true for 3/2-δ p 3 + δ if n ≥ 4, similar estimate was extended to convex domains for 1 p ∞.  相似文献

We form squares from the product of integers in a short interval [n, n + tn], where we include n in the product. If p is prime, p|n, and (2p) > n, we prove that p is the minimum tn. If no such prime exists, we prove tn √5n when n> 32. If n = p(2p − 1) and both p and 2p − 1 are primes, then tn = 3p> 3 √n/2. For n(n + u) a square > n2, we conjecture that a and b exist where n < a < b < n + u and nab is a square (except n = 8 and N = 392). Let g2(n) be minimal such that a square can be formed as the product of distinct integers from [n, g2(n)] so that no pair of consecutive integers is omitted. We prove that g2(n) 3n − 3, and list or conjecture the values of g2(n) for all n. We describe the generalization to kth powers and conjecture the values for large n.  相似文献

Let {pk}k≥3 be a sequence of nonnegative integers which satisfies 8 + Σk≥3 (k-4) pk = 0 and p4p3. Then there is a convex 4-valent polytope P in E3 such that P has exactly pk k-gons as faces. The inequality p4p3 is the best possible in the sense that for c < 1 there exist sequences that are not 4-realizable that satisfy both 8 + Σk ≥3 (k - 4) pk = 0 and p4 > cp3. When Σk ≥ 5 pk ≠ 1, one can make the stronger statement that the sequence {pk} is 4-reliazable if it satisfies 8 + Σk ≥ 3 (k - 4) pk = 0 and p4 ≥ 2Σk ≥ 5 pk + max{k ¦ pk ≠ 0}.  相似文献

We consider transcendental meromorphic solutions with N(r,f) = S(r,f) of the following type of nonlinear differential equations:f~n + Pn-2(f) = p1(z)e~(α1(z)) +p2(z)e~(α2(z)),where n≥ 2 is an integer, Pn-2(f) is a differential polynomial in f of degree not greater than n-2 with small functions of f as its coefficients, p1(z), p2(z) are nonzero small functions of f, and α1(z), α2(z)are nonconstant entire functions. In particular, we give out the conditions for ensuring the existence of meromorphic solutions and their possible forms of the above equation. The thermal equilibrium state of two oppositely charged gases confined to a bounded domain , m = 1,2 or m = 3, is entirely described by the gases' particle densities p, n minimizing the total energy (p, n). it is shown that for given P, N > 0 the energy functional admits a unique minimizer in {(p, n) ε L2(Ω) x L 2(Ω) : p, n ≥ 0, Ωp = P, Ωn = N} and that p, n ε C(Ω) ∩ L(Ω).

The analysis is applied to the hydrodynamic semiconductor device equations. These equations in general possess more than one thermal equilibrium solution, but only the unique solution of the corresponding variational problem minimizes the total energy. It is equivalent to prescribe boundary data for electrostatic potential and particle densities satisfying the usual compatibility relations and to prescribe Ve and P, N for the variational problem.  相似文献

Let G = (V,E) be a graph with m edges. For reals p ∈ [0, 1] and q = 1- p, let mp(G) be the minimum of qe(V1) +pe(V2) over partitions V = V1V2, where e(Vi) denotes the number of edges spanned by Vi. We show that if mp(G) = pqm-δ, then there exists a bipartition V1, V2 of G such that e(V1) ≤ p2m - δ + pm/2 + o(√m) and e(V2) ≤ q2m - δ + qm/2 + o(√m) for δ = o(m2/3). This is sharp for complete graphs up to the error term o(√m). For an integer k ≥ 2, let fk(G) denote the maximum number of edges in a k-partite subgraph of G. We prove that if fk(G) = (1 - 1/k)m + α, then G admits a k-partition such that each vertex class spans at most m/k2 - Ω(m/k7.5) edges for α = Ω(m/k6). In this paper, we study the unconditional uniqueness of solution for the Cauchy problem of sc(0 ≤ sc < 2) critical nonlinear fourth-order Schrödinger equations itu + Δ2u-εu=λ|u|αu. By employing paraproduct estimates and Strichartz estimates, we prove that unconditional uniqueness of solution holds in Ct(I; sc(Rd)) for d ≥ 11 and min{1-, (8)/(d-4)} ≥ α >(-(d-4)+√4(d-4)2+64)/4.  相似文献

In this note, we assume that t has the probability density function p(t) which is positive and lower-semicontinuous over the real line, but not necessarily Gaussian, then the geometric ergodicity of the ARCH(p) process is proved under Et2 = 1. The stability is an expected property for functions,which is widely considered in the study of approximation theory and wavelet analysis.In this paper,we consider the Lp,q-stability of the shifts of finitely many functions in mixed Lebesgue spaces L~(p,q)(R~(d+1)).We first show that the shiftsφ(·-k)(k∈Z~(d+1))are Lp,q-stable if and only if for anyξ∈R~(d+1),∑_(k∈Z~(d+1))|φ(ξ+2πk)|~20.Then we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the shifts of finitely many functions in mixed Lebesgue spaces L~(p,q)(R~(d+1))to be Lp,q-stable which improves some known results.  相似文献

Some new identities for the four cubic theta functions a′(q,z), a(q,z), b(q,z) and c(q,z) are given. For example, we show that
a′(q,z)3=b(q,z)3+c(q)2c(q,z).
This is a counterpart of the identity
a(q,z)3=b(q)2b(q,z3)+c(q,z)3,
which was found by Hirschhorn et al.

The Laurent series expansions of the four cubic theta functions are given. Their transformation properties are established using an elementary approach due to K. Venkatachaliengar. By applying the modular transformation to the identities given by Hirschhorn et al., several new identities in which a′(q,z) plays the role of a(q,z) are obtained.  相似文献

Oscillation criteria are obtained by using the so called H-method for the second order neutral type delay differential equations of the form

where z(t)=x(t)+p(t)x(τ(t)), r, p, q, τ, σ, C([t0,∞),R) and fC(R,R).

The results of the paper contains several results obtained previously as special cases. Furthermore, we are also able to fix an error in a recent paper related to the oscillation of second order nonneutral delay differential equations.  相似文献

Given an edge-weighted tree T and an integer p1, the minmax p-traveling salesmen problem on a tree T asks to find p tours such that the union of the p tours covers all the vertices. The objective is to minimize the maximum of length of the p tours. It is known that the problem is NP-hard and has a (2−2/(p+1))-approximation algorithm which runs in O(pp−1np−1) time for a tree with n vertices. In this paper, we consider an extension of the problem in which the set of vertices to be covered now can be chosen as a subset S of vertices and weights to process vertices in S are also introduced in the tour length. For the problem, we give an approximation algorithm that has the same performance guarantee, but runs in O((p−1)!·n) time.  相似文献
