Scattering theory has its origin in Quantum Mechanics. From the mathematical point of view it can be considered as a part of perturbation theory of self-adjoint operators on the absolutely continuous spectrum. In this work we deal with the passage from the time-dependent formalism to the stationary state scattering theory. This problem involves applying Fubini's Theorem to a spectral measure integral and a Lebesgue integral of functions that take values in spaces of operators. In our approach, we use bilinear integration in a tensor product of spaces of operators with suitable topologies and generalize the results previously stated in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper we develop some unified methods, based on the technique of the auxiliary sublinear operator, for obtaining extensions of positive linear operators. In the first part, a version of the Mazur-Orlicz theorem for ordered vector spaces is presented and then this theorem is used in diverse applications: decomposition theorems for operators and functionals, minimax theory and extensions of positive linear operators. In the second part, we give a general sufficient condition (an implication between two inequalities) for the existence of a monotone sublinear operator and of a positive linear operator. As shown by Mbekhta [9] and [10], the analytic core and the quasi-nilpotent part of an operator play a significant role in the local spectral and Fredholm theory of operators on Banach spaces. It is a basic fact that the analytic core is closed whenever 0 is an isolated point of the spectrum. In this note, we explore the extent to which the converse is true, based on the concept of support points. Our results are exemplified in the case of decomposable operators, Riesz operators, convolution operators, and semi-shifts.  相似文献

Rough sets are efficient for data pre-processing during data mining. However, some important problems such as attribute reduction in rough sets are NP-hard and the algorithms required to solve them are mostly greedy ones. The transversal matroid is an important part of matroid theory, which provides well-established platforms for greedy algorithms. In this study, we investigate transversal matroids using the rough set approach. First, we construct a covering induced by a family of subsets and we propose the approximation operators and upper approximation number based on this covering. We present a sufficient condition under which a subset is a partial transversal, and also a necessary condition. Furthermore, we characterize the transversal matroid with the covering-based approximation operator and construct some types of circuits. Second, we explore the relationships between closure operators in transversal matroids and upper approximation operators based on the covering induced by a family of subsets. Finally, we study two types of axiomatic characterizations of the covering approximation operators based on the set theory and matroid theory, respectively. These results provide more methods for investigating the combination of transversal matroids with rough sets.  相似文献

In the first part of this paper, we derive the equations of the linear theory of thermoelastic diffusion in porous media based on the concept of volume fraction. Then, we establish a reciprocal relation which leads to reciprocity, uniqueness and continuous dependence theorems for anisotropic materials. In abstract spaces, we consider certain constrained controllability and approximate controllability properties of a nonlinear system that can be deduced from various controllability properties of its associated linear system. The aim of part I and this paper is to study interpolation problems for pairs of matrix functions of the extended Nevanlinna class using two different approaches and to make explicit the various links between them. In part I we considered the approach via the Kreîn-Langer theory of extensions of symmetric operators. In this paper we adapt Dym's method to solve interpolation problems by means of the de Branges theory of Hilbert spaces of analytic functions. We study the asymptotic properties of the discrete spectrum for general selfadjoint second order hyperbolic operators on the two-dimensional torus. For a broad class of operators with sufficiently smooth coefficients and the principal part coinciding with the wave operator in the light cone coordinates we prove the discreteness of the spectrum and obtain an asymptotic formula for the distribution of eigenvalues. In some cases we can indicate the first two asymptotic terms. We discuss the relations of these questions to analytic number theory and mathematical physics.  相似文献

We construct conjugate operators for the real part of a completely non-unitary isometry and we give applications to the spectral and scattering theory of a class of operators on (complete) Fock spaces, natural generalizations of the Schrödinger operators on trees. We consider C*-algebras generated by such Hamiltonians with certain types of anisotropy at infinity, we compute their quotient with respect to the ideal of compact operators, and give formulas for the essential spectrum of these Hamiltonians.  相似文献

We develop a function theory associated with Dirac type operators on Lipschitz subdomains of Riemannian manifolds. The main emphasis is on Hardy spaces and boundary value problems, and our aim is to identify the geometric and analytic assumptions guaranteeing the validity of basic results from complex function theory in this general setting. For example, we study Plemelj-Calderón-Seeley-Bojarski type splittings of Cauchy boundary data into traces of ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ monogenics and show that this problem has finite index. We also consider Szegö projections and the corresponding Lp-decompositions. Our approach relies on an extension of the classical Calderón-Zygmund theory of singular integral operators which allow one to consider Cauchy type operators with variable kernels on Lipschitz graphs. In the second part, where we explore connections with Maxwell's equations, the main novelty is the treatment of the corresponding electro-magnetic boundary value problem by recasting it as a ‘half’ Dirichlet problem for a suitable Dirac operator.  相似文献

In this paper,utilizing equivariant Mose theory for isolated critical orbits developed in [16] we study the versions of Morse identities under group actions,i.e.the global property of equivariant Morse theory. Combining the concept of critical multiplicity we give a lower bound of the critical multiplicities for a class of invariant functionals.As applications we study the bifuractions of a class of equivariant potential operators and generalize some results due to Benci and Pacella, Chang Rabinowitz, etc.This research was supported in part by the National Postdoctoral Science Fund.  相似文献

The paper has three parts. In the first part we apply the theory of commuting pairs of (pseudo) difference operators to the (formal) asymptotics of orthogonal polynomials: using purely geometrical arguments we show heuristically that the asymptotics, for large degrees, of orthogonal polynomial with respect to varying weights is intimately related to certain spinor bundles on a hyperelliptic algebraic curve reproducing formulae appearing in the works of Deift et al. on the subject.In the second part we show that given an arbitrary nodal hyperelliptic curve satisfying certain conditions of admissibility we can reconstruct a sequence of polynomials orthogonal with respect to semiclassical complex varying weights supported on several curves in the complex plane. The strong asymptotics of these polynomials will be shown to be given by the spinors introduced in the first part using a Riemann-Hilbert analysis.In the third part we use Strebel theory of quadratic differentials and the procedure of welding to reconstruct arbitrary admissible hyperelliptic curves. As a result we can obtain orthogonal polynomials whose zeroes may become dense on a collection of Jordan arcs forming an arbitrary forest of trivalent loop-free trees.  相似文献

In this paper we present an elementary theory about the existence of eigenvalues for fully nonlinear radially symmetric 1-homogeneous operators. A general theory for first eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of 1-homogeneous fully nonlinear operators exists in the framework of viscosity solutions. Here we want to show that for the radially symmetric operators or in the one dimensional case a much simpler theory, based on ode and degree theory arguments, can be established. We obtain the complete set of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions characterized by the number of zeroes.  相似文献

In the first part of this series we characterized all linear operators on spaces of multivariate polynomials preserving the property of being nonvanishing in products of open circular domains. For such sets this completes the multivariate generalization of the classification program initiated by Pólya and Schur for univariate real polynomials. We build on these classification theorems to develop here a theory of multivariate stable polynomials. Applications and examples show that this theory provides a natural framework for dealing in a uniform way with Lee‐Yang type problems in statistical mechanics, combinatorics, and geometric function theory in one or several variables. In particular, we answer a question of Hinkkanen on multivariate apolarity. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In this paper we generalize the notion of skew products as known in ergodic theory to skew product extensions of Markov operators. We prove that Markov operators are of such a type iff they have relative discrete spectrum (in a slightly generalized sense) thus generalizing a theorem of Parry. In addition we show that skew product extensions of Markov operators play an important role in the theory of products of dependent random variables and we develop this interdependence between the two theories thus generalizing results of Koutsky, Schmetterer and Wolff.  相似文献

Level shift operators describe the second-order displacement of eigenvalues under perturbation. They play a central role in resonance theory and ergodic theory of open quantum systems at positive temperatures. We exhibit intrinsic properties of level shift operators, properties which stem from the structure of open quantum systems at positive temperatures and which are common to all such systems. They determine the geometry of resonances bifurcating from eigenvalues of positive temperature Hamiltonians and they relate the Gibbs state, the kernel of level shift operators, and zero energy resonances. We show that degeneracy of energy levels of the small part of the open quantum system causes the Fermi Golden Rule Condition to be violated and we analyze ergodic properties of such systems.  相似文献
