Diamagnetic properties of the electron gas in cylindrical nanolayer have been investigated. The dependence of mean energy, mean magnetization and mean magnetic susceptibility on the values of magnetic field is obtained. Comparison of these dependencies with the case, when the electron gas is localized in the cylindrical quantum dot, is carried out. In a nanolayer, the character of an effect of size quantization on the magnetic properties of the electron gas has been revealed.  相似文献

In order to confirm the electronic nature of the susceptibility measured on the Pauli paramagnet CeNi and more especially the origin of the maximum of the susceptibility observed at 140 K, a polarized neutron diffraction study has been performed at 20 and 140 K, in an applied field of 4.6 T, leading to induced magnetization density maps at these two temperatures. Whereas in the Pauli paramagnet CeNi5, the induced magnetization is localized on the nickel sites only, in CeNi it is localized on the cerium site at both temperatures and no magnetic density appears on the nickel site. Thus, magnetism in CeNi arises from the 4f electrons of cerium which is in an intermediate valence state.  相似文献

The magnetization and the magnetic susceptibility of a single electron confined in a two-dimensional (2D) parabolic quantum ring under the effect of external uniform magnetic field and in the presence of an acceptor impurity have been studied. The shifted 1/N expansion method was used to solve the Hamiltonian quantum ring within the effective mass approximation. The computed energy spectra, the magnetization and magnetic susceptibility have been displayed as a function of the quantum ring parameters: confinement strength ω0, magnetic field strength (ωc), and temperature (T). The obtained energy results show level-crossings, in the absence and presence of acceptor impurity, which are manifested as oscillations in the magnetization and magnetic susceptibility curves.  相似文献

The exchange energy of the electron gas on a cylindrical surface in a constant magnetic field has been calculated. Analytical formulas describing the contribution of the exchange interaction into oscillations of the magnetization of the electron gas in a quantum cylinder have been obtained. It is shown that the magnetic response of the system exhibits Aharonov-Bohm oscillations for both degenerate and Boltzmann electron gases.  相似文献

It has been found that the magnetic susceptibility of (Sm0.5Gd0.5)0.55Sr0.45MnO3 ceramic samples in zero external magnetic field exhibits a sharp peak near the temperature of 48.5 K with a small temperature hysteresis that does not depend on the frequency of measurements and is characteristic of the phase transition to an antiferromagnetic state with a long-range charge orbital ordering, which is accompanied by an increase in the magnetic susceptibility with a decrease in the temperature. The magnetization isotherms in static and pulsed magnetic fields at temperatures below 60 K demonstrate the occurrence of an irreversible metamagnetic transition to a homogeneous ferromagnetic state with a critical transition field independent of the measurement temperature, which, apparently, is associated with the destruction of the insulating state with a long-range charge ordering. In the temperature range 60 K ?? T ?? 150 K, the ceramic samples undergo a magnetic-field-induced reversible phase transition to the ferromagnetic state, which is similar to the metamagnetic transition in the low-temperature phase and is caused by the destruction of local charge/orbital correlations. With an increase in the temperature, the critical transition fields increase almost linearly and the field hysteresis disappears. Near the critical fields of magnetic phase transitions, small ultra-narrow magnetization steps have been revealed in pulsed fields with a high rate of change in the magnetic field of ??400 kOe/??s.  相似文献

The properties of dielectric powders of the Van Vleck paramagnet LiTmF4 and its diamagnetic analogue LiYF4 have been investigated by both resonant methods (EPR, NMR, and the mass-spectroscopy) and non-resonant ones (conductometry and magnetization measurement). On the basis of experimental data and theoretical calculations a self-consistent model for the magnetic and other properties of these powders is suggested. Two structural phase transitions induced by the magnetic field are discovered in fine LiTmF4 powder at low temperature in a high magnetic field.  相似文献

The periodic s-d model is investigated by Green's function methods. A closed set of equations for Green's function of Kondo-lattice system and a formula of single electron self-energy are obtained in the presence of a broken rotational symmetry. The formula can-be used to discuss low temperature anomalous properties of Kondo-lattice system with spontaneous magnetization or in an external magnetic field. We have evaluated the influence of magnetic ordering on logarithmic sin-gularity of electron self-energy by perturbative method to Leading logarithmic order (LLO).The result obtained indiGates there exists a competition between Kondo effect and Zong range magnetic ordering. 中子星内部的致密电子是高度简并的相对论气体, 其输运性质与中子星磁或热的观测现象密切相关, 被认为是中子星磁场的主要载体. 外磁场中电子的朗道能级是分立的且高度简并的, 与无外场时的能量差决定 了系统的磁化程度, 用量子统计的方法可计算理想相对论电子气体的磁化率. 结果表明弱场条件下的磁化率在数量级上接近白矮星的10-3. 强磁场下的磁化呈现出类似在某些低温金属中出现的de Haas-van Alphen 震荡效应, 高次谐频的震荡幅度有可能超出临界磁化时的磁化率. 表明中子星内部有可能存在非稳定的磁化过程, 发生类似气液转化的一级相变过程, 出现两种磁化共存的稳定态或过冷磁化的亚稳态(若不同磁化态间存在表面能). 从亚稳态向稳定态的突然转化可能与磁星的辐射有关, 可以解释在磁星巨闪过程中观测到的额外辐射问题.  相似文献

The spin-wave spectrum of a non-ferromagnetic electron gas on the surface of a nanotube in a magnetic field has been considered. The electron-electron interaction has been taken into account in the Hartree-Fock approximation. The dynamic spin susceptibility tensor of the electron gas has been calculated in the random-phase approximation. The spectra of intrasubband and intersubband magnons have been calculated in the quantum and semi-classical cases. It has been shown that, for a large number of occupied subbands, the spin-wave frequencies exhibit de Haas-van Alphen and Aharonov-Bohm oscillations with a change in the electron density and the magnetic flux through the cross section of the nanotube.  相似文献

Single crystals of CeGe and its non-magnetic analog LaGe have been grown by the Czochralski method. The CeGe compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic FeB-type crystal structure with the space group Pnma (#62). The anisotropic magnetic properties have been investigated for well oriented single crystals by measuring the magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity and heat capacity. It has been found that CeGe orders antiferromagnetically at 10.5?K. Both transport and magnetic studies have revealed large anisotropy, reflecting the orthorhombic crystal structure. The magnetization data at 1.8?K reveal metamagnetic transitions along the [010] direction at 4.8 and 6.4?T and along the [100] direction at a critical field of 10.7?T, while the magnetization along the [001] direction increases linearly without any anomaly up to a field of 16?T. From the magnetic susceptibility and the magnetization measurements it has been found that the [010] direction is the easy axis of magnetization. The electrical resistivity along the three crystallographic directions exhibits an upturn at T(N), indicating superzone gap formation below T(N) in this compound. We have performed crystal electric field analysis on the magnetic susceptibility and the heat capacity data and found that the ground state is a doublet, and the energies of splitting from the ground state to the first and second excited doublet states were estimated to be 39 and 111?K, respectively.  相似文献

Based on the effective-field theory with self-spin correlations and the differential operator technique,physical properties of the spin-2 system with biaxial crystal field on the simple cubic, body-centered cubic, as well as faced-centered lattice have been studied. The influences of the external longitudinal magnetic field on the magnetization,internal energy, specific heat, and susceptibility have been discussed in detail. 我们研究了包含自旋轨道耦合与杂质散射在内的石墨烯量子磁振荡对外加电磁场的响应.我们发现,石墨烯中自旋轨道耦合、电磁场以及边界共同修正了朗道能谱,且当电场与磁场比值超过某一临界值时,量子磁振荡会突然消失,这与非相对论二维电子气的情况显著不同.这种现象可以通过朗道量子化轨道由封闭转化为开放的半经典理论来解释.此外,我们还发现杂质散射和温度的共同作用会使得磁振荡振幅衰减.我们的结果可用于分析石墨烯及其类似结构(硅烯、锗烯、锡烯等)的费米能级与朗道能谱的相互作用,进而探测自旋轨道耦合引起的能隙.  相似文献

Analytical expressions for the thermodynamical properties of a two-dimensional electron gas in a perpendicular magnetic field are derived.This is accomplished by first deriving the general expression for the thermodynamical potential,and then employing this result to obtain the corresponding expression for the two-dimensional gas.The chemical potential and magnetization are studied as a function of temperature and magnetic field,and shown to be in agreement with prior work.It is also shown that the results are close to those obtained by assuming a Gaussian density of states for the Landau levels.  相似文献

The effects of nonzero temperature, finite thickness and magnetic fields on an electron gas confined in a quasi-two-dimensional (Q2DEG) region are studied. Finite values of the thickness allow the existence of energy bands and give new characteristics to the system. Here we study some thermodynamic and transport properties to get a better understanding of these effects. For electronic densities of the order of 1012 electrons per cm2, and temperatures lower than 4 K, it is found that the chemical potential, free energy, magnetization, magnetic susceptibility and the inverse of Hall conductivity are independent of the thickness up to it reaches a threshold value. Systems with thicknesses a little above of the critical value lose the two-dimensional character, but they do not have the properties of a three-dimensional electron gas.  相似文献

Theoretically, based on the approximation of discrete orientations, the effect of thermal stochastic resonance is considered for a superparamagnetic particle with magnetic anisotropy of the “easy axis” type in view of an additional external permanent magnetic field applied at an arbitrary angle relative to the easy magnetization axis. The properties of the bound states of magnetic impurities and localized carriers in two-dimensional semiconductor systems with strong Rashba spin-orbit interaction have been investigated. The peculiar behavior of the bound states of an electron in such a system leads to the dependence of the ground state of polarons on the external magnetic field. This results in a jump in the dependence of the magnetization on the applied field.  相似文献
