The aim of the present paper is to introduce and study a new type of q-Mellin transform [11], that will be called q-finite Mellin transform. In particular, we prove for this new transform an inversion formula and q-convolution product. The application of this transform is also earlier proposed in solving procedure for a new equation with a new fractional differential operator of a variational type.  相似文献

A q-analogue of the Mellin transform is introduced by using a standard method of q-calculus involving the q-Jackson integral. In this paper, we study some of its properties coinciding with the corresponding classical ones when q tends to 1. In addition to several examples given, we establish the q-inversion formula, the q-analogue of the convolution product, and the q-extension of the known Titchmarsh theorem. Finally, we prove the q-Mellin summation formula related to some q-zeta function.  相似文献

In Meanti et al. (1990) an almost sure asymptotic characterization has been derived for the optimal solution value as function of the knapsack capacities, when the profit and requirement coefficients of items to be selected from are random variables. Stationary and isotropic iteration stable random tessellations are considered, which are constructed by a random process of iterative cell division. The collection of maximal polytopes at a fixed time t within a convex window WRd is regarded and formulas for mean values, variances and a characterization of certain covariance measures are proved. The focus is on the case d≥3, which is different from the planar one, treated separately in Schreiber and Thäle (2010) [12]. Moreover, a limit theorem for suitably rescaled intrinsic volumes is established, leading — in sharp contrast to the situation in the plane — to a non-Gaussian limit.  相似文献

Jack polynomials in superspace, orthogonal with respect to a “combinatorial” scalar product, are constructed. They are shown to coincide with the Jack polynomials in superspace, orthogonal with respect to an “analytical” scalar product, introduced in [P. Desrosiers, L. Lapointe, P. Mathieu, Jack polynomials in superspace, Comm. Math. Phys. 242 (2003) 331-360] as eigenfunctions of a supersymmetric quantum mechanical many-body problem. The results of this article rely on generalizing (to include an extra parameter) the theory of classical symmetric functions in superspace developed recently in [P. Desrosiers, L. Lapointe, P. Mathieu, Classical symmetric functions in superspace, J. Algebraic Combin. 24 (2006) 209-238].  相似文献

The notion of a random semi-metric space provides an alternate approach to the study of probabilistic metric spaces from the standpoint of random variables instead of distribution functions and permits a new investigation of the triangle inequality. Starting with a probability space (, , P) and an abstract setS, each pair of points,p, q, inS is assigned a random variableX pq with the interpretation thatX pq () is the distance betweenp andq at the instant . The probability of the eventJ pqr = { :X pr ()X pq ()+X qr ()} is studied under distribution function conditions imposed by Menger Spaces (K. Menger, Statistical Metrics, Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci., U.S.A., 28 (1942), 535–537; B. Schweizer and A. Sklar, Statistical Metric Spaces, Pacific J. Math.10 (1960), 313–334). It turns out that for > 0 there are 3 non-negative, identically-distributed random variablesX, Y andZ for whichP(X < Y + Z) < . This and other results show that distribution function triangle inequalities are very weak. To offer an insight into the rapidly developing theory of fractional diffusion processes, we describe in some detail three topics of current interest: (i) the well-scaled passage to the limit from continuous time random walk under power law assumptions to space-time fractional diffusion, (ii) the asymptotic universality of the Mittag–Leffler waiting time law in time-fractional processes, (iii) our method of parametric subordination for generating particle trajectories.  相似文献

Three limit theorems describing asymptotic distribution of vacancy in general multivariate coverage problems are proved, in which nk-dimensional spheres are distributed within a k-dimensional unit cube according to a density f. The first result (a central limit theorem) describes the case where the proportion of vacancy converges to a fixed constant lying between 0 and 1. The last two results treat the case where the proportion of vacancy tends to 1 as n → ∞. Results of this nature have hitherto been available only for restricted k and/or for f equal to the uniform density.  相似文献

This paper studies the multiplicative ideal structure of commutative rings in which every finitely generated ideal is quasi-projective. We provide some preliminaries on quasi-projective modules over commutative rings. Then we investigate the correlation with the well-known Prüfer conditions; that is, we prove that this class of rings stands strictly between the two classes of arithmetical rings and Gaussian rings. Thereby, we generalize Osofsky’s theorem on the weak global dimension of arithmetical rings and partially resolve Bazzoni-Glaz’s related conjecture on Gaussian rings. We also establish an analogue of Bazzoni-Glaz results on the transfer of Prüfer conditions between a ring and its total ring of quotients. We then examine various contexts of trivial ring extensions in order to build new and original examples of rings where all finitely generated ideals are subject to quasi-projectivity, marking their distinction from related classes of Prüfer rings.  相似文献

It is shown how the combined discretization and cutting plane method for general convex semi-infinite programming problems recently presented in [40] can be effectively implemented for the solution of minimax problems in the complex plane. In contrast to other approaches, the minimax problem does not have to be linearized. The performance of the algorithm is demonstrated by a number of highly accurate numerical examples.  相似文献

We establish the complete bifurcation diagram for a class of nonlinear problems on the whole space. Our model corresponds to a class of semilinear elliptic equations with logistic type nonlinearity and absorption. Since this problem arises in population dynamics or in fishery or hunting management, we are interested only in situations allowing the existence of positive solutions. The proofs combine elliptic estimates with the method of sub- and super-solutions.  相似文献

The disentangling process is the key to Feynman's operational calculus for noncommuting operators. The main result of his heuristic calculations deals with disentangling an exponential factor. We use the Wiener and Feynman integrals to make this disentangling (or time-ordering) mathematically rigorous in the case where the analytic functions from earlier work are replaced by Fourier transforms of complex-valued measures. In this paper, we study asymptotics of the thermal partition function of a model of quantum mechanical fermions with matrix‐like index structure and quartic interactions. This partition function is given explicitly by a Wronskian of the Stieltjes‐Wigert polynomials. Our asymptotic results involve the theta function and its derivatives. We also develop a new asymptotic method for general q‐polynomials.  相似文献

We give a new proof of a recent characterization by Diaz and Mayoral of compactness in the Lebesgue-Bochner spaces LXp, where X is a Banach space and 1≤ p<∞, and extend the result to vector-valued Banach function spaces EX, where E is a Banach function space with order continuous norm. We develop an approach by finite dimensional approximations for the study of infinite dimensional oscillatory integrals and the relative method of stationary phase. We provide detailed asymptotic expansions in the nondegenerate as well as in the degenerate case. We consider the fragmentation equation

and address the question of estimating the fragmentation parameters – i.e. the division rate B(x) and the fragmentation kernel k(y,x) – from measurements of the size distribution f(t,?) at various times. This is a natural question for any application where the sizes of the particles are measured experimentally whereas the fragmentation rates are unknown, see for instance Xue and Radford (2013) [26] for amyloid fibril breakage. Under the assumption of a polynomial division rate B(x)=αxγ and a self-similar fragmentation kernel k(y,x)=1yk0(xy), we use the asymptotic behavior proved in Escobedo et al. (2004) [11] to obtain uniqueness of the triplet (α,γ,k0) and a representation formula for k0. To invert this formula, one of the delicate points is to prove that the Mellin transform of the asymptotic profile never vanishes, what we do through the use of the Cauchy integral.  相似文献
