Zusammenfassung Es wird ein neues Analysenverfahren beschrieben, welches die quantitative Bestimmung des Gehaltes an Äthylenoxid und Propylenoxid in Polyalkylenglykolen gestattet.Die Methode beruht auf der Oxydation der zu untersuchenden Substanz mit Chromschwefelsäure und stellt eine Weiterentwicklung der C-Methylgruppenbestimmung nach Kuhn-Roth dar.Der Chromschwefelsäureabbau liefert als alleinige Spaltstücke Kohlensäure und Essigsäure und zwar entstehen aus 1 Mol Äthylenoxid 2 Mole Kohlensäure, während aus 1 Mol Propylenoxid je 1 Mol Kohlensäure und 1 Mol Essigsäure erhalten werden.Bei gleichzeitigem Vorliegen von Äthylenoxid- und Propylenoxidgruppen in Mischungen oder Kombinations- und Blockpolymerisaten wird für den aus der Essigsäuremenge ermittelten Gehalt an Propylenoxid die äquivalente Menge Kohlensäure errechnet, dieser Wert von der Gesamt-Kohlensaure in Abzug gebracht und somit die allein dem Äthylenoxid zukommende Menge Kohlensäure erhalten.Polyäthylenglykole und Polypropylenglykole sowie Mischungen der beiden als auch Muster von Handelsprodukten des Typs UCON und Pluronic wurden mit bestem Erfolg analysiert.

Summary A new method is described for quantitative determination of the proportions of ethyleneoxide and propyleneoxide in polyalkyleneglycols.The method is based on oxydation of the material to be analysed with a mixture of chromic and sulfuric acids and is consequently a variation of the well-known C-methyl group determination of Kuhn-Roth.Hereby the polyalkyleneglycol chains are splitted and as decomposition products were received only carbon dioxide and acetic acid. Each mole of ethyleneoxide is yielding two moles of carbon dioxide, each mole of propyleneoxide one mole of carbon dioxide and one mole of acetic acid.When ethyleneoxide and propyleneoxide groups are present simultaneously, the carbon dioxide equivalent of the acetic acid — derived from propyleneoxide — is substracted from total carbon dioxide and thus the carbon dioxide value corresponding only to ethyleneoxide is obtained.Polyethylene- and polypropyleneglycols and mixtures thereof as well as samples of commercial products of the type UCON and Pluronic were analysed with best results.

Under polar conditions Cd(CF₃)₂ complexes react with (CO)₃CpMCl ( M = Mo, W) to form the corresponding M-CF₃ compounds. (CO)₃CpMoCF₃ is identified by comparing its spectroscopical data with the described ones. The ¹H-, ¹³C, ¹³C, ¹⁹F-, and ¹⁸³W-NMR spectra, the i.r. and mass spectra of the new compound (CO)₃CpWCF₃ are discussed. Both M-CF₃ compounds do not react as polar trifluoromethylation reagents.

Zusammenfassung Es wird die Darstellung einer größeren Anzahl von neuen Methyl-, Dimethyl-, Trimethyl- und Tetramethylthionaphthenen sowie von 2-Äthylthionaphthen beschrieben.
