The compound (Me4P)2ZnBr4, a member of the β-K2SO4 structure class, undergoes a phase transition at 84°C from the room temperature space group P121/c1 to the parent Pmcn structure. The room temperature structure corresponds to a ferrodistortive transition of B1g symmetry at the zone center. At room temperature, the compound has lattice constants a=9.501(1), b=16.055(2), c=13.127(2) Å and β=90.43(1)°. For the high temperature phase, the orthorhombic cell has dimensions a=9.466(2), b=16.351(3) and c=13.284(2) Å. The structures consist of two crystallographically independent Me4P+ cations and the ZnBr42− anions. In the room temperature phase, all three ionic species show substantial displacement from the mirror plane perpendicular to the a-axis that exists in the high temperature phase, as well as rotations out of that plane. The thermal parameters of the cations are indicative of substantial librational motion. Measurements of lattice parameters have been made at 2-5°C intervals over the temperature range 40-140°C. The changes in the lattice constants appear continuous at Tc (within experimental limits) indicating that the phase transition is likely second-order. The a lattice constant shows an anomalous shortening as Tc is approached. Thermal expansion coefficients are calculated from this data. An application of Landau theory is used to derive the temperature dependencies of spontaneous shear strain and corresponding elastic stiffness constants associated with the primary order parameter.  相似文献

The crystalline structure of a new compound containing the 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety, 4-(5-methyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2yl-)-N,N′-dimethyl-phenylamine (MODPA) was determined. It shows a monoclinic structure with space group P21/c and lattice parameters: a=1.02997(6), b=0.64840(4), c=1.58117(10) nm and β=99.4820(10)°. To study the intermolecular interactions in oxadiazole containing organic crystals, X-ray studies on MODPA and 2,5-diphenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole (DPO) were performed up to 5 GPa at room temperature. The Murnaghan equation of state is used to describe the compression behaviour of both substances. From these results, the bulk modulus and its pressure derivative were determined. The values obtained are: K0=6.3 GPa and K0=6.8 for MODPA and K0=7.3 GPa and K0=6.7 for DPO. Additionally, measurements under increasing temperature at ambient pressure were carried out to evaluate the thermal expansion coefficient: α=1.8×10−4 K−1 for MODPA and α=1.9×10−4 K−1 for DPO.  相似文献

Crystal structure of Rb3D(SeO4)2 has been investigated at 25 K (below the transition temperature Tc=95.4 K) by single-crystal neutron diffraction. Accompanying the transition, the SeO4 groups, which are all equivalent in the phase above the transition (space group A2/a), split into eight nonequivalent groups in a superlattice (a×2b×2c, space group A2) in the low-temperature phase. Based on the D atom positions obtained, each of the SeO4 groups was identified to be in the state closer to a HSeO4 ion or to a SeO42− ion and the dipole arrangement of SeO4-D-SeO4 dimer was revealed. This dipole arrangement has ‘ferri’ structure along the polar b-axis, but ‘antiferro’ structure in the plane perpendicular to the b-axis. These results are consistent with the characteristics found in the earlier dielectric measurements.  相似文献

Ion beam sputtering process was used to deposit n-type fine-grained Bi2Te3 thin films on BK7 glass substrates at room temperature. In order to enhance the thermoelectric properties, thin films are annealed at the temperatures ranging from 100 to 400 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) shows that the films have preferred orientations in the c-axis direction. It is confirmed that grain growth and crystallization along the c-axis are enhanced as the annealing temperature increased. However, broad impurity peaks related to some oxygen traces increase when the annealing temperature reached 400 °C. Thermoelectric properties of Bi2Te3 thin films were investigated at room temperature. The Bi2Te3 thin films, including as-deposited, exhibit the Seebeck coefficients of −90 to −168 μV K−1 and the electrical conductivities of 3.92×102-7.20×102 S cm−1 after annealing. The Bi2Te3 film with a maximum power factor of 1.10×10−3 Wm−1 K−2 is achieved when annealed at 300 °C. As a result, both structural and transport properties have been found to be strongly affected by annealing treatment. It was considered that the annealing conditions reduce the number of potential scattering sites at grain boundaries and defects, thus improving the thermoelectric properties.  相似文献

We report an electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study at 33.9 GHz and room temperature of oriented single crystal samples of bis(l-asparaginato)Zn(II) doped with Cu(II). The variation of the spectra with magnetic field orientation was measured in three crystal planes (a*b, bc and a*c, with a*=b×c). These spectra display two groups of four peaks arising from the hyperfine interaction with the ICu=3/2 nuclear spins of copper. They were assigned to Cu(II) ions in two lattice sites related by a 180° rotation around the b-crystal axis. The g and hyperfine coupling (A) tensors of the Cu(II) ions were evaluated from the single crystal data. Some indeterminacy in the assignment of the signals was avoided measuring the EPR spectrum of a powder sample. Their principal values are g1=2.060(1), g2=2.068(2), g3=2.283(2), and A1≈0.1×10−4, A2=13×10−4 and A3=165×10−4 cm−1. The eigenvectors corresponding to g3 and A3 are coincident within the experimental error; the other eigenvectors are rotated 5.6° in the perpendicular plane. Considering the crystal structure of bis(l-asparaginato)Zn(II), our EPR results indicate that the Cu(II) impurities replace Zn(II) ions in the host crystal. We propose a molecular model based on the EPR data and the structural information, and analyse the results comparing the measured values with those obtained in similar systems.  相似文献

The thermal expansion behavior of sintered samples of Gd1−xSrxMnO3 (X = 0.0–0.4) was studied. The sintered bodies in this system showed negative thermal expansion over a wide temperature range. The detailed crystal structure refinements with respect to temperature showed that the volume of the orthorhombic perovskite lattice monotonically increased with temperature, however, in addition to this, the release of distortion from the Jahn-Teller effect of Mn3+ ion occurred over a wide temperature range, which brought the negative expansion of the a-axis, although the b- and c-axes increased with temperature. The anomalous thermal expansion is explained by the sum of the effects of the shrinkage of the a-axis and absorption of the b- and c-axes' expansion by the pores in the sintered body.  相似文献

A new compound, K4(SO4)(HSO4)2(H3AsO4) was synthesized from water solution of KHSO4/K3H(SO4)2/H3AsO4. This compound crystallizes in the triclinic system with space group P1¯ and cell parameters: a=8.9076(2) Å, b=10.1258(2) Å, c=10.6785(3) Å; α=72.5250(14)°, β=66.3990(13)°, γ=65.5159(13)°, V=792.74(3) Å3, Z=2 and ρcal=2.466 g cm−3. The refinement of 3760 observed reflections (I>2σ(I)) leads to R1=0.0394 and wR2=0.0755. The structure is characterized by SO42−, HSO4 and H3AsO4 tetrahedra connected by hydrogen bridge to form two types of dimer (H(16)S(3)O4?S(1)O42− and H(12)S(2)O4?H3AsO4). These dimers are interconnected along the [1¯ 1 0] direction by the hydrogen bonds O(3)-H(3)?O(6). They are also linked by the hydrogen bridge assured by the hydrogen atoms H(2), H(3) and H(4) of the H3AsO4 group to build the chain S(1)O4?H3AsO4 which are parallel to the “a” direction. The potassium cations are coordinated by eight oxygen atoms with K-O distance ranging from 2.678(2) to 3.354(2) Å.Crystals of K4(SO4)(HSO4)2(H3AsO4) undergo one endothermic peak at 436 K. This transition detected by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is also analyzed by dielectric and conductivity measurements using the impedance spectroscopy techniques. The obtained results show that this transition is protonic by nature.  相似文献

A novel layered hydrotalcite-like material, Co7(H2O)2(OH)12(C2H4S2O6), has been prepared hydrothermally and the structure determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction (a=6.2752(19) Å, b=8.361(3) Å, c=9.642(3) Å, α=96.613(5)°, β=98.230(5)°, γ=100.673(5)°, R1=0.0551). The structure consists of brucite-like sheets where 1/6 of the octahedral sites are replaced by two tetrahedrally coordinated Co(II) above and below the plane of the layer. Ethanedisulfonate anions occupy the space between layers and provide charge balance for the positively charged layers. The compound is ferrimagnetic, with a Curie temperature of 33 K, Curie-Weiss θ of −31 K, and a coercive field of 881 Oe at 5 K.  相似文献

Accurate lattice parameters a and c of the tetragonal chalcopyrite quaternary semiconductor CuGaSn□Se4 have been determined as a function of temperature by the X-ray powder diffraction method in the temperature range 300 K to about 900 K. The data have been used to evaluate the axial expansion coefficients αa and αc at various temperatures. The thermal expansion studies revealed the anisotropy between the axial expansion coefficients having a larger coefficient of expansion along the a-axis than that along the c-axis (αa > αc). The mean values αa and αc, in the temperature range 300–900 K, are found to be 14.02 × 10-6K-1 and 5.02 × 10-6K-1 respectively, and the axial ratio, c/a, changes with a coefficient of -8.96 × 10-6K-1. This result indicates an increase in the tetragonal distortion, δ = 2 - c/a with temperature. An attempt is made to explain the increase in tetragonal distortion with temperature and the anisotropic thermal expansion of CuGaSn□Se4 in terms of the thermal expansion of the A>−;Se (where A is Cu and Ga randomly distributed) and B>−;Se (where B is Sn and vacancy randomly distributed) bonds. The results are also discussed in terms of the principal Grüneisen parameters of chalcopyrite structure compounds.  相似文献

We previously determined the crystal structures of the high temperature phases of KH2PO4 [J.A. Subramony, S. Lovell, B. Kahr, Chem. Mater. 10 (1998) 2053. [6]]. These triclinic and monoclinic phases were obtained by heating the room temperature tetragonal form until new crystal phases were identified by polarization microscopy. These samples were subsequently cooled to room temperature thereby preserving the metastable high temperature phases for analysis. KD2PO4 is distinct from KH2PO4 in that it crystallizes at room temperature in a monoclinic phase unknown for its isotopomer, therefore the question as to whether it would support the corresponding high temperature phases remained open until our report here of the transformation of monoclinic KD2PO4 to an isomorphous triclinic high temperature phase: space group P with a=7.475(1) Å, b=7.440(1) Å, c=7.184(1) Å, α=88.53(1) Å, β=86.81(1)°, γ=88.09(1)°, V=398.58 Å3. This is the first known high temperature phase of DKDP, a material coveted at room temperature for its optical properties.  相似文献

Solid-state reaction processing technique was used to prepare ZnxNb1−xO (0≤x≤0.02) polycrystalline bulk samples. In the present study, we find that their lattice parameters a and c tend to decrease with increasing amount of Nb additive. The electrical conductivity of all the Zn1−xNbxO samples increased with increasing temperature, indicating a semiconducting behavior in the measured temperature range. The addition of Nb2O5 to ZnO led to an increase in the electrical conductivity and a decrease in the absolute value of the Seebeck coefficient. The best performance at 1000 K has been observed for nominal 0.5 at% Nb-doped ZnO, with an electrical resistivity of about 73.13 (S cm−1) and Seebeck coefficient of ∼257.36 μV K−1, corresponding to a power factor (S2σ) of 4.84×10−4 Wm−1 K−2. The thermal conductivity, κ, of the oxide decreased as compared to pure ZnO. The figure of merit ZT values of ZnO-doped Nb2O5 samples are higher than the ZnO pure sample, demonstrating that the Nb2O5 addition is fairly effective for enhancing thermoelectric properties.  相似文献

Aurivillius SrBi2(Nb0.5Ta0.5)2O9 (SBNT 50/50) ceramics were prepared using the conventional solid-state reaction method. Scanning electron microscopy was applied to investigate the grain structure. The XRD studies revealed an orthorhombic structure in the SBNT 50/50 with lattice parameters a=5.522 Å, b=5.511 Å and c=25.114 Å. The dielectric properties were determined by impedance spectroscopy measurements. A strong low frequency dielectric dispersion was found to exist in this material. Its occurrence was ascribed to the presence of ionized space charge carriers such as oxygen vacancies. The dielectric relaxation was defined on the basis of an equivalent circuit. The temperature dependence of various electrical properties was determined and discussed. The thermal activation energy for the grain electric conductivity was lower in the high temperature region (T>303.6 °C, Ea−ht=0.47 eV) and higher in the low temperature region (T<303.6 °C, Ea−lt=1.18 eV).  相似文献

The effects of hydrostatic pressure and substitution of Rb+for the ammonium cations on the ferroelectric phase transition temperature in NH4H(ClH2CCOO)2 have been studied by electric permittivity measurements. The transition temperature (Tc) decreases with increasing pressure up to 800 MPa and the pressure coefficient dTc/dp=−1.4×10−2 [K/MPa] has been experimentally determined. The substitution of Rb+ for the ammonium cations has been shown to considerably lower the ferroelectric phase transition temperature Tc. In mixed crystals, additional electric permittivity anomaly has been clearly evidenced. The results are discussed assuming a model, which combines polarizability effects, related to the heavy ion units, with the pseudo-spin tunnelling.  相似文献

A new molecular solid, [1-(4′-bromo-2′-fluorobenzyl)-4-dimetylaminopyridinium]-bis(maleonitriledithiolato)nickel(III), (BrFBzPyN(CH3)2(Ni(mnt)2)(1), has been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, ESI-MS spectra, single crystal X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. Compound 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma, a=20.579(4) Å, b=7.078(1) Å, c=17.942(4) Å, α=β=γ=90°, V=2613.3(9) Å3, Z=4. The Ni(III) ions of 1 form a quasi-one-dimensional Zigzag magnetic chain within a Ni(mnt)2 column through Ni?S, S?S, Ni?Ni, or π?π interactions with an Ni?Ni distance of 4.227 Å. Magnetic susceptibility measurements in the temperature range 2-300 K show that 1 exhibits a spin-gap transition around 200 K, and antiferromagnetic interaction in the high-temperature phase (HT) and spin gap in the low-temperature phase (LT). The transition for 1 is second-order phase transition as determined by DSC analyses.  相似文献

The crystalline structures of two modifications of a compound containing the oxadiazole ring, 2,5-di-(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (DAPO) were determined. One of these modifications contains water molecules in the crystal structure, which is observed for the first time for an oxadiazole crystal. Both crystals show an orthorhombic structure. The water free modification, DAPO I, belongs to the space group Pbca (61) and has the lattice parameters: a=13.461(5), b=7.937(3) and c=22.816(8) Å (CCDC 246608). The water containing pseudo-polymorph, DAPO II, has the space group Cmcm (63) and the lattice parameters: a=16.330(5), b=12.307(2) and c=6.9978(14) Å (CCDC 246609). To gain information on the inter molecular interactions within the crystals, X-ray experiments under compression at ambient temperature and under heating at vacuum conditions were performed. Neither DAPO I nor DAPO II undergo phase transitions in the ressure range up to 5 GPa, as could be concluded from X-ray and Raman experiments. X-ray and calorimetric studies indicate that DAPO II dehydrates into DAPO I under increasing temperature. Structural considerations suggest a two-stage process. The compression behavior of both substances is well described by the Murnaghan equation of state (MEOS) and the values of the bulk modulus and its pressure derivative are determined for these crystals. Additionally, in the case of DAPO I, also the thermal expansion coefficient α0 was measured.  相似文献

Large-block (8×4×3 mm3) CuGa5Se8 crystals were obtained by the horizontal Bridgman method. Homogeneous CuGa3Se5 and CuIn3Se5 single crystals 12 mm in diameter and up to 40 mm in length were grown by directed crystallization of the melt. All three compounds were found to have the chalcopyrite-related structure. The melting points of these compounds were defined by means of the differential thermal analysis. The lattice parameters a and c as well as the axial thermal expansion coefficients αa and αc were determined as a function of temperature in the range from 90 to 650 K by the X-ray diffraction method. It is revealed that for all three compounds the coefficients of expansion along the a-axis are larger than those along the c-axis over the entire temperature range studied.  相似文献

A novel mixed cadmium zirconium cesium oxalate with an open architecture has been synthesized from precipitation methods at room pressure. It crystallizes with an hexagonal symmetry, space group P3112 (no. 151), a=9.105(5) Å, c=23.656(5) Å, V=1698(1) Å3 and Z=3. The structure displays a [CdZr(C2O4)4]2− helicoidal framework built from CdO8 and ZrO8 square-based antiprisms connected through bichelating oxalates, which generates channels along different directions. Cesium cations, hydronium ions and water molecules are located inside the voids of the anionic framework. They exhibit a dynamic disorder which has been further investigated by 1H and 133Cs solid-state NMR. Moreover a phase transition depending both upon ambient temperature and water vapor pressure was evidenced for the title compound. The thermal decomposition has been studied in situ by temperature-dependent X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetry. The final product is a mixture of cadmium oxide, zirconium oxide and cesium carbonate.  相似文献

Polymorphic transition of pyridinium tetrachloropalladate(II) was investigated by heat capacity measurements and by single crystal X-ray structural analysis. A large λ-type anomaly was detected at 240 K in the temperature dependence of the heat capacity. The low-temperature phase (LTP) belongs to the triclinic space group with a=6.856(1), b=7.293(1), c=7.721(1) Å, α=75.180(2)°, β=71.081(2)°, γ=81.109(3)° at 100 K, and the high-temperature phase (HTP) to the same space group with a=7.217(2), b=7.470(2), c=7.880(2) Å, α=73.438(3)°, β=65.195(3)°, γ=82.727(4)° at 293 K. The pyridinium cations are ordered antiferroelectrically in LTP. In HTP, however, an orientational disorder of the cation was observed. The energy difference between potential wells for the reorientation of pyridinium ion in HTP is discussed referring to the results of the present single crystal X-ray and heat capacity as well as the previous 1H NMR measurements. A five-site disorder model is shown to be consistent with both of the observations of 1H NMR and X-ray study.  相似文献

Cr-doped mullites were prepared from single-phase precursors containing up to 9.60 wt% Cr2O3 using a sol-gel technique followed by thermal treatment. Particle induced X-ray emission spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction were used to characterize the samples. Mullites were orthorhombic, space group Pbam. Cr doping caused the increase of unit-cell parameters. Strongest expansion was noticed along c-axis followed by a and bc/c=0.089, Δa/a=0.061, Δb/b=0.045% per mole Cr2O3). A second phase, namely θ-(Al,Cr)2O3, was revealed by XRD in the sample containing 9.60 wt% Cr2O3. The structure of mullites was refined by the Rietveld method, location of Cr3+ was performed by the EPR spectroscopy. At low chromium doping level (Cr2O3 content less than ∼5 wt%) Cr3+ ions were substituted for Al3+ in the AlO6 octahedra of the mullite structure (M1 site). For higher doping level, Cr3+ ions were additionally substituted for Al3+ in the AlO6 octahedra of the second phase [θ-(Al,Cr)2O3 at 1400 °C, or α-(Al,Cr)2O3 at 1600 °C] which segregated in the system. Substitution of Cr3+ for Al3+ on M1 site in the mullite structure resulted in increase of average distances in (M1)O6 octahedron and decrease of average distances in T*O4 tetrahedron, while average distances in TO4 tetrahedron stayed almost constant.  相似文献
