Let G =K A N be an Iwasawa decomposition of a connected, noncompact real semisimple Lie group with finite center and let M be the centralizer of A in K . B. Kostant proved that for every irreducible M-spherical K-module V there exists a unique d (the Kostant degree of V) such that V can be realized as a submodule of the space of all -harmonic homogeneous polynomials of degree d on . Here is a Cartan decomposition of the complexification of the Lie algebra of G .In this paper we give an algorithm to obtain a highest weight vector from any M-invariant vector in an irreducible M-spherical K-module. This algorithm allows us to compute a sharp bound for the Kostant degree d(v) of any M-invariant vector v in a locally finite M-spherical K-module V. The method computes d(v) effectively for any V if G is locally isomorphic to SO(n,1) and for if G is locally isomorphic to SU(n,1).Partially supported by Agencia Córdoba Ciencia and CONICET Mathematics Subject Classification (2000):Primary 22E46, Secondary 43A85  相似文献

Suppose that U is the resolvent of a Borel right process on a Lusin space X. If is a U-excessive measure on X then we show by analytical methods that for every U-excessive measure with the Radon–Nikodym derivative d/d possesses a finely continuous version. (Fitzsimmons and Fitzsimmons and Getoor gave a probabilistic approach for this result.) We extend essentially a technique initiated by Mokobodzki and deepened by Feyel. The result allows us to establish a Revuz type formula involving the fine versions, and to study the Revuz correspondence between the -finite measures charging no set that is both -polar and -negligible (U being the potential component of ) and the strongly supermedian kernels on X. This is an analytic version of a result of Azéma, Fitzsimmons and Dellacherie, Maisonneuve and Meyer, in terms of additive functionals or homogeneous random measures. Finally we give an application to the context of the semi-Dirichlet forms, covering a recent result of Fitzsimmons.  相似文献

Summary In this note we consider a semi-Markovian operator, that is a positive linear mapping T: L 1 L 1 such that sup T n <. We study the behavior of T n on the Z 1-part of the space (the disappearing part in Sucheston's terminology). We show in particular, that if the operator T has a non-trivial conservative part in Z 1, then the ratio theorem must fail.Research supported by the U.S.Army Research Office (Durham) under contract DA-31-124-ARO(D)-288.  相似文献

The Wiener-Levinson method and algorithm, formulated here in terms of Szegö polynomials n ( N,I ;z) orthogonal on the unit circle, is used to find unknown frequencies j from anN-sample of a discrete time signal consisting of the superposition of sinusoidal waves with frequencies 1,...,1. In a recent paper the authors (and W.J. Thron) have shown that zerosz(j, n, N, I) of n ( N,I ;z) converge asN to the critical points ,j=1, 2,...,I, providednn 0 (I)=2I+L, whereL is 0 or 1. The present paper gives results on the convergence of zerosz(j, n, N, I) to some of the for the case in whichnn 0 (I), wheren is the degree of n ( N,I ;z).Research supported in part by the United States Educational Foundation in Norway (Fulbright Grant), the Norwegian Research Council (NAVF) and the US National Science Foundation under Grant No. DMS-9103141.  相似文献

Using a capacity approach, we prove in this article that it is always possible to define a realization of the Laplacian on L 2() with generalized Robin boundary conditions where is an arbitrary open subset of R n and is a Borel measure on the boundary of . This operator generates a sub-Markovian C 0-semigroup on L 2(). If d=d where is a strictly positive bounded Borel measurable function defined on the boundary and the (n–1)-dimensional Hausdorff measure on , we show that the semigroup generated by the Laplacian with Robin boundary conditions has always Gaussian estimates with modified exponents. We also obtain that the spectrum of the Laplacian with Robin boundary conditions in L p () is independent of p[1,). Our approach constitutes an alternative way to Daners who considers the (n–1)-dimensional Hausdorff measure on the boundary. In particular, it allows us to construct a conterexample disproving Daners' closability conjecture.  相似文献

In this paper we study the limiting distribution of the maximum term of non-negative integer-valued moving average sequences of the form X n = i = – i Z ni where { Z n} is an iid sequence of non-negative integer-valued random variables with regularly varying tails, iZ n–i denotes binomial thinning. Several models are considered allowing different dependence structures on the thinning operations. For these models we manage to establish results which are similar to the ones obtained for the classic linear moving average: { X n} > has an extremal index = \maxi{ i } / ( i ), where is the index of regular variation, irrespectively of the dependence structure considered. The paper is concluded with a simulation study to illustrate the results.  相似文献

LetX,X 1,X 2,... be i.i.d. random vectors in d. The limit laws that can arise by suitable affine normalizations of the partial sums,S n=X 1+...+X n, are calledoperator-stable laws. These laws are a natural extension to d of the stable laws on. Thegeneralized domain of attraction of [GDOA()] is comprised of all random vectorsX whose partial sums can be affinely normalized to converge to . If the linear part of the affine transformation is restricted to take the formn –B for some exponent operatorB naturally associated to thenX is in thegeneralized domain of normal attraction of [GDONA()]. This paper extends the theory of operator-stable laws and their domains of attraction and normal attraction.  相似文献

Under quite general assumptions, we prove existence, uniqueness and regularity of a solution U to the evolution equation U'(t) + (g F)(U(t)) 0, U(0)=u0, where g : X {} is a closed convex proper function, F : Y X is a continuously differentiable mapping whose Jacobian is locally Lipschitz continuous, X and Y being two Hilbert spaces. We also study the stability and the asymptotic behavior of U, and give various examples.  相似文献

Summary Consider a random walk of law on a locally compact second countable groupG. Let the starting measure be equivalent to the Haar measure and denote byQ the corresponding Markov measure on the space of pathsG . We study the relation between the spacesL (G , a ,Q) andL (G , i ,Q) where a and i stand for the asymptotic and invariant -algebras, respectively. We obtain a factorizationL (G , a ,Q) L (G , i ,Q)L (C) whereC is a cyclic group whose order (finite or infinite) coincides with the period of the Markov shift and is determined by the asymptotic behaviour of the convolution powers n.  相似文献

On a measurable space (T, , ) we choose an additive measure: Z (Z is a Banach space) with the following property: for alle , we have ; this measure defines an indefinite integral over the measure onL 2 (T, ,). We prove that if { n (t)} n =1/ is an orthonormal basis inL 2 and n (e)=e n (t) d, then any additive measure: Z whose Radon-Nikodým derivatived/d belongs toL 2 is uniquely expandable in a series(e)= n =1/ n n(e) that converges to(e) uniformly with respect toe can be differentiated term-by-term, and satisfies n =1/ n /2 <. Summary We say that a curve C in P 3 has maximal rank if for every integer k the restriction map rc(k):H 0(P 3, OP3(k)) H0 (C, OC(k))has maximal rank. Here we prove the following results. Theorem 1Fix integers g, d with 0g3,dg+3.Fix a curve X of genus g and L Picd (X).If g=3and X is hyperelliptic, assume d8. Let L(X)be the image of X by the complete linear system H 0(X, L). Then a general projection of L(X)into P 3 has maximal rank. Theorem 2For every integer g0,there exists an integer d(g, 3)such that for every dd(g, 3),for every smooth curve X of genus g and every LPicd (X) the general projection of L(X)into P 3 has maximal rank.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce left linear theories of exponentN (a set) on the setL as mapsL ×L N (l, ) l · L such that for alll L and , L N the relation (l · ) =l( · ) holds, where · L N is given by ( · )(i) = (i),i N. We assume thatL has a unit, that is an element L N withl · =l, for alll L, and · = , for all L N . Next, left (resp. right)L-modules andL-M-bimodules and their homomorphisms are defined and lead to categoriesL-Mod, Mod-L, andL-M-Mod. These categories are algebraic categories and their free objects are described explicitly. Finally, Hom(X, Y) andX Y are introduced and their properties are investigated.Herrn Professor Dr. D. In the context of a transient Borel right Markov process with a fixed excessive measure , we characterize the regular strongly supermedian kernels, producing smooth measures by the Revuz correspondence. In the case of the measures charging no -semipolar sets, this is the analytical counterpart of a probabilistic result of Revuz, Fukushima, and Getoor and Fitzsimmons, concerning the positive continuous additive functionals. We also consider the case of the measures charging no set that is both -polar and -negligible (U being the potential part of ), answering to a problem of Revuz.  相似文献

Weighted Composition Operators on Bergman and Dirichlet Spaces   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Let H() denote a functional Hilbert space of analytic functions on a domain . Let w : C and : be such that w f is in H() for every f in H(). The operator wC given by f w f is called a weighted composition operator on H(). In this paper we characterize such operators and those for which (wC )* is a composition operator. Compact weighted composition operators on some functional Hilbert spaces are also characterized. We give sufficient conditions for the compactness of such operators on weighted Dirichlet spaces.  相似文献

A set X of boundary points of a (possibly unbounded) convex body KE d illuminating K from within is called primitive if no proper subset of X still illuminates K from within. We prove that for such a primitive set X of an unbounded, convex set KE d (distinct from a cone) one has X=2 if d=2, X6 if d=3, and that there is no upper bound for X if d4.  相似文献

Summary Fix a curve X of genus g and L Pic d (X). Let L(X) be the image of X through the complete linear system H0(X, L). Here we prove that a general projection of L(X) intoP N has maximal rank if either (a) N4, 0gN–1, dg+N, or (b) dd (g, N) for suitable d(g, N).  相似文献

A class of uniformly expanding, piecewiseC 2-diffeomorphisms from domainsIR d (bounded or not) into themselves is considered. It is shown that the number of the extreme points of Fix (P )={gG:Pg=g} whereP is the Frobenius-Perron operator associated with andG={gL 1: g0 g=1}, can be determined in an effective way. Moreover, it is shown that the sequence {P j g} is convergent inL 1 for anygG, and in the topology of uniform convergence for anygG(1). The limit is a linear projectionR inL 1 (defined by (3.1)) which mapsG onto Fix (P ) (see Th. 3.1).Dedicated to professor A. Lasota on the occasion of his 60th birthday  相似文献

We give a general criterion for the intrinsic ultracontractivity of Dirichlet Laplacians – D on domainsD ofR d d 3, based on the Lieb's formula. It applies to various classes of domains (e.g. John, Hölder andL p-averaging domains) and gives new conditions for intrinsic ultracontractivity in terms of the Minkowski dimension of the boundary D. In particular, isotropic self-similar fractals and domains satisfying a c-covering condition are considered.  相似文献

LetA and be two arbitrary sets in the real spaceL p, 1p<. Sufficient conditions are obtained for their strict separability by a hyperplane, in terms of the distance between the setsd(A,B) p=inf{x-yp,xA,yB} and their diametersd(A) p, d(B)p, whered(A) p=sup{x-yp; x,yA}. In particular, it is proved that if in an infinite-demensional spaceL p we haved r(A,B)p>2–r+1(dr(A)p+dr(B)p), r=min{p, p(p–1)–1}, then there is a hyperplane which separatesA andB. On the other hand, the conditiond r(A,B)p=2–r+1(dr(A)p+dr(B)p) does not guarantee strict separability. Earlier these results where obtained by V. L. Dol'nikov for the case of Euclidean spaces.  相似文献
