The thermal behaviour of salicylsalicylic acid (CAS number 552-94-3) was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The endothermic melting peak and the fingerprint of the glass transition were characterised at a heating rate of 10°C min-1. The melting peak showed an onset at T on = 144°C (417 K) and a maximum intensity at T max = 152°C (425 K), while the onset of the glass transition signal was at T on = 6°C. The melting enthalpy was found to be ΔmH = 28.9±0.3 kJ mol-1, and the heat capacity jump at the glass transition was ΔC P = 108.1±0.1 J K-1mol-1. The study of the influence of the heating rate on the temperature location of the glass transition signal by DSC, allowed the determination of the activation energy at the glass transition temperature (245 kJ mol-1), and the calculation of the fragility index of salicyl salicylate (m = 45). Finally, the standard molar enthalpy of formation of crystalline monoclinic salicylsalicylic acid at T = 298.15 K, was determined as ΔfHm o(C14H10O5, cr) = - (837.6±3.3) kJ mol-1, by combustion calorimetry. Summary The binary systems of C60with α-methyl- and α-chloronaphthalene have been studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry. C60was found to form the molecular complex of the van der Waals type with α-methylnaphthalene which melts incongruently below the boiling point of the solvent at temperature 382.7±3.0 K. The enthalpy of the desolvation reaction is 14.1±0.5 kJ mol-1of C60. The molar ratio of fullerene to solvent in the solvate is 1:1.5. In the system C60-α-chloronaphthalene a two-stage incongruent melting process has been observed at temperatures 314.1±4.6 K and 375.7±7.4 K with the enthalpies 8.1±2.6 kJ mol-1and 11.6±1.0 kJ mol-1, respectively. The composition of the most solvated phase equilibrated with the saturated solution at room temperature and below the first of the incongruent melting transitions was determined as 1:1.5. Based on the results obtained the thermodynamic characteristics of the incongruent melting reactions have been revealed and influence of solvate formation on solubility of C60has been discussed.  相似文献

A novel complex, [Pr(5-nip)(phen)(NO3)(DMF)] (5-nip: 5-nitroisophthalic acid; phen: 1,10-phenanthroline, DMF: N,N-dimethylformamide), was prepared and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectrum and DTG-DSC techniques. The results show that the crystal is monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n with a=11.0876(6) Å, b=12.8739(7) Å, c=16.9994(8) Å; β=91.193(4)°, Z=4, D c=1.822 Mg m–3, F(000)=1320. Each Pr(III) ion is nine-coordinated by one chelating bidentate and two monodentate bridging carboxylate groups, one chelating bidentate nitryl group, one DMF molecule and one 1,10-phenanthroline molecule. The complex is constructed with one-dimensional ribbons featuring dinuclear units and the one-dimensional ribbons are further assembled into two-dimensional networks by strong π–π stacking interactions. The complex has high stability up to 500°C. The enthalpy change of formation of the compound in DMF was measured using an RD496-III type microcalorimeter with the value of –9.214±0.173 kJ mol–1.  相似文献

Condensed and gas phase enthalpies of formation of 3:4,5:6-dibenzo-2-hydroxymethylene-cyclohepta-3,5-dienenone (1, (−199.1 ± 16.4), (−70.5 ± 20.5) kJ mol−1, respectively) and 3,4,6,7-dibenzobicyclo[3.2.1]nona-3,6-dien-2-one (2, (−79.7 ± 22.9), (20.1 ± 23.1) kJ mol−1) are reported. Sublimation enthalpies at T=298.15 K for these compounds were evaluated by combining the fusion enthalpies at T = 298.15 K (1, (12.5 ± 1.8); 2, (5.3 ± 1.7) kJ mol−1) adjusted from DSC measurements at the melting temperature (1, (T fus, 357.7 K, 16.9 ± 1.3 kJ mol−1)); 2, (T fus, 383.3 K, 10.9 ± 0.1) kJ mol−1) with the vaporization enthalpies at T = 298.15 K (1, (116.1 ± 12.1); 2, (94.5 ± 2.2) kJ mol−1) measured by correlation-gas chromatography. The vaporization enthalpies of benzoin ((98.5 ± 12.5) kJ mol−1) and 7-heptadecanone ((94.5 ± 1.8) kJ mol−1) at T = 298.15 K and the fusion enthalpy of phenyl salicylate (T fus, 312.7 K, 18.4 ± 0.5) kJ mol−1) were also determined for the correlations. The crystal structure of 1 was determined by X-ray crystallography. Compound 1 exists entirely in the enol form and resembles the crystal structure found for benzoylacetone.  相似文献

A new three-dimensional coordination polymer, [Ho(5-nip)(phen)(NO3)(DMF)] (5-nip=5-nitroisophthalic acid and phen=1,10-phenanthroline), was prepared and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectrum and DTG-DSC techniques. The results show that the title complex crystallizes in space group P2/m with a= 1.0906(3) nm, b =1.2804 (3) nm, c= 1.6987(4) nm, β=91.400(5)°, Z=4, Dc= 1.931 Mg/m^3, F(000)= 1352. Each Ho(Ⅲ) ion is nine-coordinated by one chelating bidentate and two monodentate bridging carboxylate groups, one chelating bidentate NO3 anion, one DMF molecule and one 1,10-phenanthroline molecule. The complex is constructed with one-dimensional ribbons featuring dinuclear units and the one-dimensional ribbons are further assembled into two-dimensional networks by strong π-π stacking interactions with the distance of 0.327 nm, then the networks are arranged into three-dimensional structure according to ABAB fashion. The complex exhibits high stability up to 600 ℃. Its enthalpy change of formation of the reaction in liquid-phase in solvent DMF was measured using an RD496-Ⅲ type microcalorimeter with a value of (-11.016±0.184) kJ·mol^-1.  相似文献

Two crystal modifications of N-(N"-tosylanthranoyl)anthranilic acid were studied by X-ray diffraction analysis and luminescence spectroscopy. One crystal modification is a crystal solvate with acetic acid and is characterized by green fluorescence. Another modification is a crystal solvate with DMF and exhibits blue fluorescence. Heat content of silicon has been measured in a temperature range of 700-1820 K using a drop calorimeter. Boron nitride was used as a sample crucible. The enthalpy of fusion and the melting point of silicon determined from the heat content-temperature plots are 48.31±0.18 kJ mol-1 and 1687±5 K, respectively. The heat content and heat capacity equations were derived using the Shomate function for the solid region and the least square method for the liquid region, respectively, and compared with the literature values. DyI2 and Dy3I were synthesized by literature techniques. Their enthalpies of solution were determined and their enthalpies of formation calculated to be ΔfH°(DyI2, s, 298 K) = ?(394 ± 16) kJ· mol?1 and ΔfH°(DyI3, s, 298 K) = ?(616 ± 10) kJ· mol?1. With appropriate literature and estimated enthalpies of solution and standard entropies, the E°(Dy3+/Dy2+, aq) was calculated to be ?(2.6 ± 0.2) V. The effect of temperature on the dimethylformamide exchange on Mn(DMF) and Fe(DMF) has been studied by 13C- and 17O-NMR, respectively, yielding the following kinetic parameters: k298 equals; (2.2±0.2). 106 S?1, ΔH = 34.6 ± 1.3 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?7.4 ± 4.8 J K?1mol?1 for Mn2+ and K298 = (9.7 ± 0.2).105 S?1, Delta;H = 43.0 ± 0.9 kJ mol?1, ΔS = + 13.8 ± 2.8 J K?1mol?1 for Fe2+. The volumes of activation, ΔV in cm3mol?1, derived from high-pressure NMR on these metal ions, together with the previously published activation volumes for Co2+ and Ni2+ (+2.4 ± 0.2 (Mn2+), +8.5 ± 0.4 (Fe2+) +9.2 ± 0.3 (Co2+), + 9.1 ± 0.3 (Ni2+)) give evidence for a dissociative activation mode for DMF exchange on these high-spin first-row transition-metal divalent ions. The small positive ΔV value observed for DMF exchange on Mn2+ seems to indicate that a mechanistic changeover also occurs along the series, (probably from Id to D), as for the other solvents previously studied (Ia to Id, for H2O, MeOH, MeCN). This changeover is shifted to the earlier elements of the series, due to more pronounced steric crowding for dimethylformamide hexasolvates.  相似文献

Standard enthalpies of formation of amorphous platinum hydrous oxide PtH2.76O3.89 (Adams' catalyst) and dehydrated oxide PtO2.52 at T=298.15 K were determined to be -519.6±1.0 and -101.3 ±5.2 kJ mol-1, respectively, by micro-combustion calorimetry. Standard enthalpy of formation of anhydrous PtO2 was estimated to be -80 kJ mol-1 based on the calorimetry. A meaningful linear relationship was found between the pseudo-atomization enthalpies of platinum oxides and the coordination number of oxygen surrounding platinum. This relationship indicates that the Pt-O bond dissociation energy is 246 kJ mol-1 at T=298.15 K which is surprisingly independent of both the coordination number and the valence of platinum atom. Crystalline lamellar titanium phenylphosphonate was intercalated with n-alkylmonoamines, H3C(CH2)n-NH2 (n=0 to 3), which decomposed on heating in four distinct stages. The lamellar compound was calorimetrically titrated with ethanolic amine solution at 298.15±0.02 K and the enthalpy, Gibbs free energy and entropy were calculated. with the exception of butylamine, the enthalpic values increased with the number of carbon atoms in the amine chain, as -16.20±0.22; -18.70±0.19; -23.70±0.24 and -18.30±0.22 kj mol-1, from n=0 to 3. The exothermic enthalpic values reflected a favorable energetic process of intercalation, when the solvated ethanol molecules on inorganic matrix are progressively substituted by solute. The negative gibbs free energy results supported the spontaneity of the reactions and the positive favorable entropic values are in agreement with the increase of solvent molecules in the reaction medium, as the amine becomes bonded to the crystalline lamellar inorganic matrix. The heat capacities (C p,m) of 2-amino-5-methylpyridine (AMP) were measured by a precision automated adiabatic calorimeter over the temperature range from 80 to 398 K. A solid-liquid phase transition was found in the range from 336 to 351 K with the peak heat capacity at 350.426 K. The melting temperature (T m), the molar enthalpy (Δfus H m0), and the molar entropy (Δfus S m0) of fusion were determined to be 350.431±0.018 K, 18.108 kJ mol−1 and 51.676 J K−1 mol−1, respectively. The mole fraction purity of the sample used was determined to be 0.99734 through the Van’t Hoff equation. The thermodynamic functions (H T-H 298.15 and S T-S 298.15) were calculated. The molar energy of combustion and the standard molar enthalpy of combustion were determined, ΔU c(C6H8N2,cr)= −3500.15±1.51 kJ mol−1 and Δc H m0 (C6H8N2,cr)= −3502.64±1.51 kJ mol−1, by means of a precision oxygen-bomb combustion calorimeter at T=298.15 K. The standard molar enthalpy of formation of the crystalline compound was derived, Δr H m0 (C6H8N2,cr)= −1.74±0.57 kJ mol−1.  相似文献

The inclusion complex formation of 4-sulfothiacalix[4]arene sodium salt (STCAS) and Xe has been investigated by using hyperpolarized 129Xe NMR spectroscopy. Our new continuous-flow type hyperpolarizing system has advantageous capabilities that can supply hyperpolarized gases continuously and directly to a sample solution in a NMR tube. Consequently saturated Xe concentration in the aqueous solution of STCAS is maintained during the NMR experiment, and 129Xe NMR spectra can be obtained in remarkably short time. STCAS concentration dependence of 129Xe chemical shift has been analyzed in an elaborated way by a computer method as well as a simple graphic method that we have proposed. The association constant K:13.6±0.8 M−1 at 25 °C was obtained, and further analysis of the temperature dependence has successfully given thermodynamic parameters of enthalpy (ΔH) and entropy (ΔS) for the inclusion complex formation: ΔH = −11.9±1.9 kJ mol−1 and ΔS = −17.4±5.8 JK−1 mol−1. The energetic aspects of complex formation are discussed from the size effect and from the molecular theory of standard entropy, and a release of definite number of water molecules from STCAS cavity is suggested in the inclusion complex formation with Xe.  相似文献

Cellulose, chitosan and piroxicam were investigated by TG and DSC at heating up to 215°C, and by X-ray powder diffraction before and after the heating. Dehydration of cellulose and chitosan comes to the end near 160°C. Thermal decomposition of chitosan starts at the final stage of its dehydration, and the mass losses after these two reactions overlap with one another. Enthalpy of dehydration is 47.1±2.4 kJ mol–1 of water for cellulose and 46.2±2.0 kJ mol–1 for chitosan. Thermal decomposition of chitosan is an exothermic process. Crystal structure of cellulose after heating remains unchanged, but that of chitosan contracts. Piroxicam melts at 200.7°C with the enthalpy of melting 35 kJ mol–1. Heat capacity of the liquid phase is greater than that of the solid phase by approximately 100 J mol–1K–1. Cooled back to ambient temperature, piroxicam remains glassy for a long time, crystallizing slowly back into the starting polymorph.  相似文献

 The fungicide triadimenol consists of a mixture of two diastereoisomers. Diastereoisomer A (1RS,2SR) could be obtained from the mixture by fractionated crystallization from ethanol/water and toluene, successively, whereas diastereoisomer B (1RS,2RS) could be separated by column chromatography on a silica gel column using ethylacetate as eluent. Four different crystal forms of diastereoisomer A could be derived. The modifications were characterized by means of thermal analysis (thermomicroscopy, DSC), FTIR-spectroscopy, FT-Raman-spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction, as well as pycnometry. The thermodynamic relationships are illustrated in a semischematic energy/temperature-diagram which provides information about the relative thermodynamic stabilities and physical properties of the four crystal forms. Mod. II (m.p. 132 °C, ΔHf 33.1±0.2 kJ mol−1, density 1.271±0.001 g cm−3) was obtained from toluene after the separation of diastereoisomer A and is enantiotropically related to mod. I (m.p. 138 °C, ΔHf 32.0 ± 0.2 kJ mol−1, density 1.243±0.001 g cm−3). The transition point of mod. II with mod. I was determined between 30 and 40 °C, which means that mod. II is thermodynamically stable at ambient conditions. Mod. III (m.p. 112 °C, ΔHf 25.1±0.5 kJ mol−1) and mod. IV were obtained from the melt. Furthermore, the phase diagrams of the binary systems of diastereoisomer B and the four modifications of diastereoisomer A were calculated by means of the experimentally obtained thermodynamical data. We report multidynamic molecular rotations in crystals using a concave-shape N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) binuclear Au(I) complex rotor bearing pyrazine and tetrahydrofuran (THF) molecules as multicomponent rotators. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements revealed that two THF molecules are located near the central pyrazine encapsulated by two bulky NHC ligands. From 2H solid-state NMR analysis, it was observed that the pyrazine rotated in a 2-fold site exchange with a 180° rotational angle and a 31 kJ mol−1 energy barrier, while the THF molecules showed a 23°-38° libration with a lower energy barrier (14 kJ mol−1). Interestingly, the pyrazine rotation was accelerated when the THF molecules rotated in fast site exchange with a large angle of libration, suggesting that the rotators exhibit multidynamics in a correlated manner.  相似文献

High-pressure 1H-NMR. has been used to determine volumes of activation (ΔV#) for solvent exchange with [M(S)6]3+ ion (M = Al(III), Ga(III); S = dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF)) in [2H]3-nitromethane solution. For Al(III),Δ V# = + 15.6 ± 1.4 (S = DMSO, 358.5 K) and ΔV# = + 13.7 ± 1.2 cm3mol?1 (S = DMF, 354.5 K), whilst for Ga(III), ΔV# = + 13.1 ± 1.0 (S = DMSO, 334.6 K) and ΔV# = +7.9 ± 1.6 cm3mol?1 (S= DMF, 313.8 K). Variable temperature studies over a temperature range of 107.2 K (Al(III)) and 101.1 K (Ga(III)) were carried out for solvent exchange with [M(DMF)6]3+ ions in [2H]3-nitromethane solution, using stopped-flow NMR, and conventional linebroadening, and gave ΔH# = 88.3 ± 0.9 and 85.1 ± 0.6 kJ+ mol?1, and ΔS# = 28.4 ± 2.7 and 45.1 ± 1.9 JK?1 mol?1 for Al(III) and Ga(III) ions respectively. All of these results are consistent with dissociative modes of activation.  相似文献
