We present a microring resonator scheme for an optical reflector in which two microrings are coupled to two bus waveguides, to produce reflected signal at the input port. In this system, a single narrow reflected peak with maximum reflectivity near 100% in a wide spectral range due to the Vernier effect are achieved. We also investigate versatile reflection, transmission spectra and group delay characteristic. These effects are useful for applications in ring resonator-based photonic devices such as all-optical single wavelength tunable laser end mirrors, reflective wavelength switching, reflective filter and dual-wavelength delay line.  相似文献

We theoretically introduce a new type of optical all-pass filter based on guided resonance in coupled photonic crystal slabs. The filter exhibits near-complete transmission for both on- and off-resonant frequencies and yet generates large resonant group delay. We further show that such a filter can be mechanically switched into a flat-top band rejection filter.  相似文献

A novel synthesis algorithm for multi-channel (M?2) lattice form optical delay-line circuit is presented in this paper. This circuit offers multi-port FIR optical filter with delay time of N Δττ: unit delay time). Synthesis algorithm is based on division of total transfer matrix into unit blocks. Developed method confirms that 1×M optical delay-line circuit offers same transmission characteristics as 1×M FIR digital filter. Band-pass flat group delay type filter is considered as an example in this paper. It is also confirmed that proposed delay-line circuit can realize 100% power transmittance.  相似文献

利用Müller矩阵和Stokes参量,从石英晶体旋光光学滤波器的透射比公式,推导出了石英品体旋光光学滤波器特征参量的理论计算公式.研究发现,特征参昼的值与滤波器的级数和滤波器中最薄石英晶体的厚度存在直接联系.计算得到一、二、三级石英晶体旋光光学滤波器在不同透射主峰的特征参量,并对其进行了实验验证.通过对不同透射主峰的特征参量进行比较可以看出,对于确定的滤波器,不同透射主峰处的自由光谱范围和通带半峰伞宽随着波长的增大而增大;同一透射主峰处的通带半峰伞宽随滤波器级数的增大而减小.  相似文献

The group delay of the dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) filter is becoming more important in optical communication. This study proposes a Mach-Zehnder interferometer based on the direct group delay measurement of an optical thin film filter. The interferometer provides a simple, accurate and physically intuitive picture of what happens to broadband optical pulses on common optical materials. A 100 GHz DWDM filter was used as an example in the measurement and showed that the time of measurement and selection of Gaussian window were two important factors.  相似文献

在光波导模场分布高斯近似条件下,根据星形光波导耦合器的耦合特性,推导出了基于累加运算和卷积运算近似表达的阵列波导光栅梳状带通滤波器光谱响应效率的函数表达式。给出了阵列波导光栅梳状带通滤波器光谱响应效率曲线的半最大值全宽度和阵列波导光栅梳状带通滤波器的通道中心波长的光谱响应度与器件参数的关系。在输入信号光谱分布高斯近似条件下,给出了阵列波导光栅梳状带通滤波器信号通道传输效率的计算表达式和输入信号光谱宽度对阵列波导光栅梳状带通滤波器信号通道输出特性的影响。给出了物理意义明确的函数表达式,它们可为快速分析阵列波导光栅梳状带通滤波器的特性提供理论基础。  相似文献

采用信号处理的方法,对介质膜滤波器的滤波特性进行了详细的研究。介质膜滤波器是最小相位滤波器,它的幅度响应与相位响应之间存在希尔伯特变换规律,因此可以通过它的幅度响应重构它的相位响应,进而可以得到它的色散特性。为了验证理论分析,设计了射频调制法测试介质膜滤波器群速度延时的实验装置。实验测试了一个100GHz33信道的介质膜滤波器的群速度延迟。通过对实验结果与理论计算结果的对比分析,发现实验数据与理论分析吻合得比较好。最后,对介质膜滤波器的色散的特点进行了分析。  相似文献

We study the different optical filters design considerations over wide range of the operation conditions in near infrared optical spectrum transmission region. There are many operating conditions parameters describing optical filter properties such as the amount absorbed electromagnetic radiation which depends on the operating signal wavelength; the amount of the absorbing material in the filter thickness; and the absorption coefficient of the material at that wavelength. Filter modulation depth, filtration signal quality, filter delay time, filter bit error rate, and filter correction are the major interesting performance parameters in the current study. Best candidate materials based optical filters are used which namely barium fluoride (BaF2), and zinc selenide (ZnSe) and compared with published measured works. Our results are validated against published experimental studies and show a good agreement and matching.  相似文献

The design and performance analysis of a new coherent optical en/decoder based on photonic crystal (PhC) for optical code -division -multiple (OCDM) are presented in this paper. In this scheme, the optical pulse phase and time delay can be flexibly controlled by photonic crystal phase shifter and time delayer by using the appropriate design of fabrication. According to the PhC transmission matrix theorem, combination calculation of the impurity and normal period layers is applied, and performances of the PhC-based optical en/decoder are also analyzed. The reflection, transmission, time delay characteristic and optical spectrum of pulse en/decoded are studied for the waves tuned in the photonic band-gap by numerical calculation. Theoretical analysis and numerical results indicate that the optical pulse is achieved to properly phase modulation and time delay, and an auto-correlation of about 8 dB ration and cross-correlation is gained, which demonstrates the applicability of true pulse phase modulation in a number of applications.  相似文献

在光网络中平顶滤波器可以有效地提高信道光检测的快速性和准确性。利用两个法布里珀罗腔间的串联耦合,可以构建出具有平顶透射特性的双腔型法布里珀罗滤波器。采用传输矩阵的方法,研究了随机生长误差对双腔型平顶滤波器透射特性的影响。模拟分析表明,当两个法布里珀罗腔的物理厚度差超过一个纳米时,在透射谱中就会出现两个高度不同的透射峰;解释了实测器件的透射谱中的双峰不对称性;用界面起伏的概念解释了实测滤波器带宽大于理论值的原因。理论分析与实验结果取得了较好的一致。  相似文献

在使用光纤光栅实现皮秒级别时延的基础上,提出一种光纤光栅与单模光纤相结合的微秒级别级联结构,该结构可以实现中心波长1 550~1 553 nm范围内,间距为1 nm的窄波长反射型时延线,共1, 1.5, 2和2.5μs四种不同的时延。将单波长反射的啁啾布拉格光纤光栅与103 m单模光纤连接构成延迟单元,再利用光环形器将4个延迟单元级联并使用内半径为3 cm的光纤绕线盘,将四种延时单元的传输光纤进行整合。借助光纤光栅的反射镜作用,控制不同波长光信号通过不同的传输距离,从而达到时延目的。本文通过对啁啾布拉格光纤光栅的反射谱进行仿真分析,发现相邻反射谱的旁瓣会出现交叠现象,因此使用六个切趾函数对旁瓣滤除。结果显示:不同切趾函数的滤除效果也不同,能够完全滤除旁瓣并且对反射谱包络影响最小的是柯西切趾函数,经柯西切趾后能使不同波长光信号在对应中心波长1 nm范围内反射率达到1,而其他位置均为0。由于使用光纤绕线盘整合延迟单元传输光纤会产生一定损耗,因此对弯曲损耗进行仿真分析,结果表明:弯曲半径相同时,损耗与工作波长成正比;工作波长相同时,弯曲损耗与弯曲半径成反比。当弯曲半径大于2.9 cm时,弯曲...  相似文献

基于薄膜法布里珀罗滤光片在其峰值波长处具有较大群延迟的特性,设计并从实验上验证了光束倾斜入射时这种结构中存在的超棱镜效应。根据光学薄膜理论中的特征矩阵法,数值模拟计算了器件的群延迟和空间色散曲线,镀制并对器件进行了测试。测试结果表明器件在透射峰值波长处因超棱镜效应引起的空间色散最大位移值达到65μm,与理论计算结果非常吻合;相对于传统的光栅和棱镜器件而言器件具有更高的空间角度色散,实际测试在784.5 nm至786.5 nm波长范围内器件的角色散达到30°/nm。  相似文献

滤光器在光谱学、光学测量和激光物理中有着极其重要的应用。全息滤光器是一种新型滤光器,特别是利用重铬酸明胶(DCG)记录的全息透射式窄带滤光器,其主要特点为对主谱线有很窄的带宽。文章主要用紫外-可见分光光度计测定用DCG记录的透射式全息窄带带阻滤光器的光谱特性,测量结果分析表明,滤光器在可见光区域(400~800 nm)对其中心波长的相对透射率小于2%,其他谱线的相对透射率大于85%。且滤光器有较窄的带宽,其半宽度小于12 nm,十分之一宽度小于15 nm。对氩离子激光(Ar+)主谱线514.5 nm有优良的滤光特性。  相似文献

We investigate the potential of n-stage optical finite impulse response (FIR) lattice filter for compensating first order polarization mode dispersion (PMD). This compensation is based on minimizing the differential group delay (DGD) between the two principal state of polarization (PSP) within a given frequency range. The filter is realized by concatenating optical delay lines, directional couplers, and phase shifters in a lattice architecture. A numerical simulation is performed for an 8th and 12th order filters to demonstrate the impact of using higher order filters. The results show that DGD can be reduced significantly as we increase the order of the filter.  相似文献

We have realized a first optical filter composed of optical delay lines and couplers that has a periodic response with respect to wavelength, whereas a conventional optical filter is known to have a periodic response to relative optical frequency. This new filter can be constructed by using a phase-generating coupler (PGC) that supplies the optical delay lines with a wavelength-dependent nonlinear phase. The PGC, which is also composed of optical delay lines and couplers, can simultaneously provide a desired phase and an arbitrary amplitude coupling ratio. We applied our transformation method to a conventional Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) as an example of an optical frequency filter and converted it to an optical wavelength filter. We fabricated the designed MZI on a silica-based planar lightwave circuit and successfully realized what is believed to be the first MZI with a uniform wavelength period.  相似文献

We investigate theoretically the possibility to control the optical transmission in the visible and infrared regions by a defective one dimensional photonic crystal formed by a combination of a finite isotropic superlattice and an anisotropic defect layer. The Green's function approach has been used to derive the reflection and the transmission coefficients, as well as the densities of states of the optical modes. We evaluate the delay times of the localized modes and we compare their behavior with the total densities of states. We show that the birefringence of an anisotropic defect layer has a significant impact on the behavior of the optical modes in the electromagnetic forbidden bands of the structure. The amplitudes of the defect modes in the transmission and the delay time spectrum, depend strongly on the position of the cavity layer within the photonic crystal. The anisotropic defect layer induces transmission zeros in one of the two components of the transmission as a consequence of a destructive interference of the two polarized waves within this layer, giving rise to negative delay times for some wavelengths in the visible and infrared light ranges. This property is a typical characteristic of the anisotropic photonic layer and is without analogue in their counterpart isotropic defect layers. This structure offers several possibilities for controlling the frequencies, transmitted intensities and the delay times of the optical modes in the visible and infrared regions. 报道了带宽为10 MHz,80%以上带宽内群时延失真小于20 ns的高温超导线性相位滤波器.该滤波器制作于LaAlO3衬底上,采用了一种新的谐振器结构以消除寄生耦合的影响,使得滤波器不仅具有很好的线性相位特性,而且具有对称的幅频响应特性.滤波器实测带宽为9.85 MHz,回波损耗约16 dB,带外抑制大于80 dB,群时延失真(80%以上带宽内)约20 ns,其他实测指标也与仿真结果符合很好. 关键词: 高温超导 滤波器 自均衡 线性相位  相似文献

多功能微分器可以满足光计算和光信号处理中的多种需求, 增强灵活性. 本文从理论上推导了一种基于相位调制和线性滤波的多功能光学微分器. 并在实验中, 将传输谱线近似为线性的光纤延时干涉仪(DI)和相位调制器级联, 得到了输入信号的两种微分结果. 通过调节DI的驱动电压调节其传输谱的漂移, 当光载波位于DI的传输谱线的谷值, 则获得信号的光场微分, 当光载波位于DI传输谱的线性斜率处, 则得到输入信号的光强微分. 通过分析各种微分的平均误差, 发现DI的线性度越高, 平均误差越小. 同时基于DI传输谱线的梳状特性,证实了多信道信号的同时微分.  相似文献

In this paper, a tunable single-passband microwave photonic filter with positive and negative taps based on phase modulation and a fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer (FMZI)) is presented, theoretically analyzed and experimentally demonstrated. The FMZI as the slicing filter results in a single-bandpass characteristic for the presented filter, and by using phase modulation, a number of negative taps are generated, thus making the baseband resonance suppressed, which is desirable for microwave photonic filter's application. The wavelength spacing of the FMZI can be tuned by employing an optical variable delay line, making the present filter continuously tunable. A tunable single-passband microwave photonic filter without baseband resonance is achieved in the experiment. The present filter shows an extinction ratio of up to ∼20 dB and good tuning linearity.  相似文献

A fiber-optic delay line based on the successive transmission of a modulated optical signal through all seven cores of an optical fiber has been fabricated. The total loss of the signal after the transmission through all cores is less than 12 dB. The group delay in the range of modulation frequencies of 6 to 12GHz is found to be 5.62 μs for a fiber as short as 160 m.  相似文献
