We will prove that if a ring R is either countable or a Prüfer domain, then n-cotilting R-modules are pure injective. We can apply and modify a very nice argument due to Jensen and Lenzing [14] showing that algebraic compactness follows from splitting of canonical direct sums in cartesian products.Received: 3 February 2004  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the finiteness of Ext-indices for certain ring extensions. In this direction, we introduce some conjectures and discuss the relationships among them. We also prove these conjectures in some special cases. Furthermore, we prove that the trivial extension of an Artinian local ring by its residue class field is always of finite Ext-index, and prove a generalization of the Auslander-Reiten conjecture for this type of ring.  相似文献

The homotopy category of complexes of projective left-modules over any reasonably nice ring is proved to be a compactly generated triangulated category, and a duality is given between its subcategory of compact objects and the finite derived category of right-modules.  相似文献

Various classification theorems of thick subcategories of a triangulated category have been obtained in many areas of mathematics. In this paper, as a higher-dimensional version of the classification theorem of thick subcategories of the stable category of finitely generated representations of a finite p-group due to Benson, Carlson and Rickard, we consider classifying thick subcategories of the stable category of Cohen-Macaulay modules over a Gorenstein local ring. The main result of this paper yields a complete classification of the thick subcategories of the stable category of Cohen-Macaulay modules over a local hypersurface in terms of specialization-closed subsets of the prime ideal spectrum of the ring which are contained in its singular locus.  相似文献

Taking the idea from classical Foxby equivalence, we develop an equivalence theory for derived categories over differential graded algebras. Both classical Foxby equivalence and the Morita equivalence for complete modules and torsion modules developed by Dwyer and Greenlees arise as special cases.  相似文献

Let Λ be a left Artinian ring, D+(mod Λ) (resp., D(mod Λ), D(mod Λ)) the derived category of bounded below complexes (resp., bounded above complexes, unbounded complexes) of finitely generated left Λ-modules. We show that the Grothendieck groups K0(D+(mod Λ)), K0(D(mod Λ)) and K0(D(mod Λ)) are trivial. Received: 7 April 2005  相似文献

One of the first remarkable results in the representation theory of artin algebras, due to Auslander and Ringel-Tachikawa, is the characterisation of when an artin algebra is representation-finite. In this paper, we investigate aspects of representation-finiteness in the general context of exact categories in the sense of Quillen. In this framework, we introduce “big objects” and prove an Auslander-type “splitting-big-objects” theorem. Our approach generalises and unifies the known results from the literature. As a further application of our methods, we extend the theorems of Auslander and Ringel-Tachikawa to arbitrary dimension, i.e. we characterise when a Cohen-Macaulay order over a complete regular local ring is of finite representation type.  相似文献

A semi-dualizing module over a commutative noetherian ring A is a finitely generated module C with RHomA(C,C)?A in the derived category D(A).We show how each such module gives rise to three new homological dimensions which we call C-Gorenstein projective, C-Gorenstein injective, and C-Gorenstein flat dimension, and investigate the properties of these dimensions.  相似文献

Given a non-unit, non-zero-divisor, central element x of a ring Λ, it is well known that many properties or invariants of Λ determine, and are determined by, those of Λ/xΛ and Λx. In the present paper, we investigate how the property of “being tilting” behaves in this situation. It turns out that any tilting module over Λ gives rise to tilting modules over Λx and Λ/xΛ after localization and passing to quotient respectively. On the other hand, it is proved that under some mild conditions, a module over Λ is tilting if its corresponding localization and quotient are tilting over Λx and Λ/xΛ respectively.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative local noetherian ring, and let L and L be R-modules. We investigate the properties of the functors and . For instance, we show the following:
(a)
if L and L are artinian, then is artinian, and is noetherian over the completion ;
(b)
if L is artinian and L is Matlis reflexive, then , , and are Matlis reflexive.
Also, we study the vanishing behavior of these functors, and we include computations demonstrating the sharpness of our results.  相似文献

We prove rigidity type results on the vanishing of stable Ext and Tor for modules of finite complete intersection dimension, results which generalize and improve upon known results. We also introduce a notion of pre-rigidity, which generalizes phenomena for modules of finite complete intersection dimension and complexity one. Using this concept, we prove results on length and vanishing of homology modules.  相似文献

The purpose of this note is to give an elementary proof of the fact discovered by Bautista and Perez that for an Artin algebra a module without selfextension is determined by its top and its first syzygy.  相似文献

We give a class of p-Borel principal ideals of a polynomial algebra over a field K for which the graded Betti numbers do not depend on the characteristic of K and the Koszul homology modules have a monomial cyclic basis.  相似文献

In [H. Krause, O. Solberg, Applications of cotorsion pairs, J. London Math. Soc. 68 (2003) 631-650], the Telescope Conjecture was formulated for the module category of an artin algebra R as follows: “If C=(A,B) is a complete hereditary cotorsion pair in with A and B closed under direct limits, then ”. We extend this conjecture to arbitrary rings R, and show that it holds true if and only if the cotorsion pair C is of finite type. Then we prove the conjecture in the case when R is right noetherian and B has bounded injective dimension (thus, in particular, when C is any cotilting cotorsion pair). We also focus on the assumptions that A and B are closed under direct limits and on related closure properties, and detect several asymmetries in the properties of A and B.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and P be an (infinite dimensional) partial tilting module. We show that the perpendicular category of P is equivalent to the full module category where and ?R is the Bongartz complement of P modulo its P-trace. Moreover, there is a ring epimorphism φ:RS. We characterize the case when φ is a perfect localization. By [Riccardo Colpi, Alberto Tonolo, Jan Trlifaj, Partial cotilting modules and the lattices induced by them, Comm. Algebra 25 (10) (1997) 3225-3237], there exist mutually inverse isomorphisms μ and ν between the interval in the lattice of torsion classes in , and the lattice of all torsion classes in . We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for μ and ν to preserve tilting torsion classes. As a consequence, we show that these conditions are always satisfied when R is a Dedekind domain, and if P is finitely presented and R is an artin algebra, then the conditions reduce to the trivial ones, namely that each value of μ and ν contains all injectives.  相似文献

For a left pure semisimple ring R, it is shown that the local duality establishes a bijection between the preinjective left R-modules and the preprojective right R-modules, and any preinjective left R-module is the source of a left almost split morphism. Moreover, if there are no nonzero homomorphisms from preinjective modules to non-preinjective indecomposable modules in R-mod, the direct sum of all non-preinjective indecomposable direct summands of products of preinjective left R-modules is a finitely generated product-complete module. This generalizes a recent theorem of Angeleri Hügel [L. Angeleri Hügel, A key module over pure-semisimple hereditary rings, J. Algebra 307 (2007) 361-376] for hereditary rings.  相似文献

Relative copure injective and copure flat modules   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let R be a ring, n a fixed nonnegative integer and In (Fn) the class of all left (right) R-modules of injective (flat) dimension at most n. A left R-module M (resp., right R-module F) is called n-copure injective (resp., n-copure flat) if (resp., ) for any NIn. It is shown that a left R-module M over any ring R is n-copure injective if and only if M is a kernel of an In-precover f:AB of a left R-module B with A injective. For a left coherent ring R, it is proven that every right R-module has an Fn-preenvelope, and a finitely presented right R-module M is n-copure flat if and only if M is a cokernel of an Fn-preenvelope KF of a right R-module K with F flat. These classes of modules are also used to construct cotorsion theories and to characterize the global dimension of a ring under suitable conditions.  相似文献
