The notion of multiplier Hopf monoid in any braided monoidal category is introduced as a multiplier bimonoid whose constituent fusion morphisms are isomorphisms. In the category of vector spaces over the complex numbers, Van Daele’s definition of multiplier Hopf algebra is re-obtained. It is shown that the key features of multiplier Hopf algebras (over fields) remain valid in this more general context. Namely, for a multiplier Hopf monoid A, the existence of a unique antipode is proved — in an appropriate, multiplier-valued sense — which is shown to be a morphism of multiplier bimonoids from a twisted version of A to A. For a regular multiplier Hopf monoid (whose twisted versions are multiplier Hopf monoids as well) the antipode is proved to factorize through a proper automorphism of the object A. Under mild further assumptions, duals in the base category are shown to lift to the monoidal categories of modules and of comodules over a regular multiplier Hopf monoid. Finally, the so-called Fundamental Theorem of Hopf modules is proved — which states an equivalence between the base category and the category of Hopf modules over a multiplier Hopf monoid.  相似文献

We exhibit the cartesian differential categories of Blute, Cockett and Seely as a particular kind of enriched category. The base for the enrichment is the category of commutative monoids—or in a straightforward generalisation, the category of modules over a commutative rig k. However, the tensor product on this category is not the usual one, but rather a warping of it by a certain monoidal comonad Q. Thus the enrichment base is not a monoidal category in the usual sense, but rather a skew monoidal category in the sense of Szlachányi. Our first main result is that cartesian differential categories are the same as categories with finite products enriched over this skew monoidal base. The comonad Q involved is, in fact, an example of a differential modality. Differential modalities are a kind of comonad on a symmetric monoidal k-linear category with the characteristic feature that their co-Kleisli categories are cartesian differential categories. Using our first main result, we are able to prove our second one: that every small cartesian differential category admits a full, structure-preserving embedding into the cartesian differential category induced by a differential modality (in fact, a monoidal differential modality on a monoidal closed category—thus, a model of intuitionistic differential linear logic). This resolves an important open question in this area.

The category of Hopf monoids over an arbitrary symmetric monoidal category as well as its subcategories of commutative and cocommutative objects respectively are studied, where attention is paid in particular to the following questions: (a) When are the canonical forgetful functors of these categories into the categories of monoids and comonoids respectively part of an adjunction? (b) When are the various subcategory-embeddings arsing naturally in this context reflexive or coreflexive? (c) When does a category of Hopf monoids have all limits or colimits? These problems are also shown to be intimately related. Particular emphasis is given to the case of Hopf algebras, i.e., when the chosen symmetric monoidal category is the category of modules over a commutative unital ring.  相似文献

We define Hopf monads on an arbitrary monoidal category, extending the definition given in Bruguières and Virelizier (2007) [5] for monoidal categories with duals. A Hopf monad is a bimonad (or opmonoidal monad) whose fusion operators are invertible. This definition can be formulated in terms of Hopf adjunctions, which are comonoidal adjunctions with an invertibility condition. On a monoidal category with internal Homs, a Hopf monad is a bimonad admitting a left and a right antipode.Hopf monads generalize Hopf algebras to the non-braided setting. They also generalize Hopf algebroids (which are linear Hopf monads on a category of bimodules admitting a right adjoint). We show that any finite tensor category is the category of finite-dimensional modules over a Hopf algebroid.Any Hopf algebra in the center of a monoidal category C gives rise to a Hopf monad on C. The Hopf monads so obtained are exactly the augmented Hopf monads. More generally if a Hopf monad T is a retract of a Hopf monad P, then P is a cross product of T by a Hopf algebra of the center of the category of T-modules (generalizing the Radford–Majid bosonization of Hopf algebras). We show that the comonoidal comonad of a Hopf adjunction is canonically represented by a cocommutative central coalgebra. As a corollary, we obtain an extension of Sweedler?s Hopf module decomposition theorem to Hopf monads (in fact to the weaker notion of pre-Hopf monad).  相似文献

Hopf Categories
We introduce Hopf categories enriched over braided monoidal categories. The notion is linked to several recently developed notions in Hopf algebra theory, such as Hopf group (co)algebras, weak Hopf algebras and duoidal categories. We generalize the fundamental theorem for Hopf modules and some of its applications to Hopf categories.  相似文献

Abstract

The category Hopf ? of Hopf monoids in a symmetric monoidal category ?, assumed to be locally finitely presentable as a category, is analyzed with respect to its categorical properties. Assuming that the functors “tensor squaring” and “tensor cubing” on ? preserve directed colimits one has the following results: (1) If, in ?, extremal epimorphisms are stable under tensor squaring, then Hopf C is locally presentable, coreflective in the category of bimonoids in ? and comonadic over the category of monoids in C. (2) If, in ?, extremal monomorphisms are stable under tensor squaring, then Hopf ? is locally presentable as well, reflective in the category of bimonoids in C and monadic over the category of comonoids in ?.  相似文献

We discuss properties of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over weak bialgebras over commutative rings. The categories of left-left, left-right, right-left and right-right Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a weak Hopf algebra are isomorphic as braided monoidal categories. Yetter-Drinfeld modules can be viewed as weak Doi-Hopf modules, and, a fortiori, as weak entwined modules. IfH is finitely generated and projective, then we introduce the Drinfeld double using duality results between entwining structures and smash product structures, and show that the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules is isomorphic to the category of modules over the Drinfeld double. The category of finitely generated projective Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a weak Hopf algebra has duality.  相似文献

Skew monoidal categories are monoidal categories with non-invertible “coherence” morphisms. As shown in a previous article, bialgebroids over a ring R can be characterized as the closed skew monoidal structures on the category Mod-R in which the unit object is RR. This offers a new approach to bialgebroids and Hopf algebroids. Little is known about skew monoidal structures on general categories. In the present article, we study the one-object case: skew monoidal monoids (SMMs). We show that they possess a dual pair of bialgebroids describing the symmetries of the (co)module categories of the SMM. These bialgebroids are submonoids of their own base and are rank 1 free over the base on the source side. We give various equivalent definitions of SMM, study the structure of their (co)module categories, and discuss the possible closed and Hopf structures on a SMM.  相似文献

Module categories, weak Hopf algebras and modular invariants   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
We develop a theory of module categories over monoidal categories (this is a straightforward categorization of modules over rings). As applications we show that any semisimple monoidal category with finitely many simple objects is equivalent to the category of representations of a weak Hopf algebra (theorem of T. Hayashi) and we classify module categories over the fusion category of sl(2) at a positive integer level where we meet once again the ADE classification pattern.  相似文献

We introduce the notions of a four-angle Hopf quasimodule and an adjoint quasiaction over a Hopf quasigroup H in a symmetric monoidal category C.If H possesses an adjoint quasiaction,we show that symmetric Yetter-Drinfeld categories are trivial, and hence we obtain a braided monoidal category equivalence between the category of right Yetter-Drinfeld modules over H and the category of four-angle Hopf modules over H under some suitable conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the category of corepresentations of a monoidal comonad. We show that it is a semisimple category if and only if the monoidal comonad is a cosemisipmle (coseparable) comonad, and it is a braided category if and only if the monoidal comonad admit a cobraided structure. At last, as an application, the braided structure and the semisimplicity of the Hom-comodule category of a monoidal Hom-bialgebra are discussed.  相似文献

Hopf monads
We introduce and study Hopf monads on autonomous categories (i.e., monoidal categories with duals). Hopf monads generalize Hopf algebras to a non-braided (and non-linear) setting. In particular, any monoidal adjunction between autonomous categories gives rise to a Hopf monad. We extend many fundamental results of the theory of Hopf algebras (such as the decomposition of Hopf modules, the existence of integrals, Maschke's criterium of semisimplicity, etc.) to Hopf monads. We also introduce and study quasitriangular and ribbon Hopf monads (again defined in a non-braided setting).  相似文献

We investigate how the category of Doi-Hopf modules can be made into a monoidal category. It suffices that the algebra and coalgebra in question are both bialgebras with some extra compatibility relation. We study tensor identies for monoidal categories of Doi-Hopf modules. Finally, we construct braidings on a monoidal category of Doi-Hopf modules. Our construction unifies quasitriangular and coquasitriangular Hopf algebras, and Yetter-Drinfel'd modules.  相似文献

The relation between a monoidal category which has an exact faithful monoidal functor to a category of finite rank projective modules over a Dedekind domain, and the category of continuous modules over a topological bialgebra is discussed. If the monoidal category is braided, the bialgebra is topologically quasitriangular. If the monoidal category is rigid monoidal, the bialgebra is a Hopf algebra.  相似文献

We define crossed product categories and we show that they are equivalent with cleft comodule categories. We also prove that a comodule category is cleft if and only if it is Hopf–Galois and has a normal basis. As an application we show that the category of Hopf modules over a cleft linear category and the category of modules over the coinvariant subcategory are equivalent.  相似文献

A laycle is the categorical analogue of a lazy cocycle. Twines (introduced by Bruguières) and strong twines (as introduced by the authors) are laycles satisfying some extra conditions. If c is a braiding, the double braiding c2 is always a twine; we prove that it is a strong twine if and only if c satisfies a sort of modified braid relation (we call such cpseudosymmetric, as any symmetric braiding satisfies this relation). It is known that the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a Hopf algebra H is symmetric if and only if H is trivial; we prove that the Yetter-Drinfeld category HYDH over a Hopf algebra H is pseudosymmetric if and only if H is commutative and cocommutative. We introduce as well the Hopf algebraic counterpart of pseudosymmetric braidings under the name pseudotriangular structures and prove that all quasitriangular structures on the 2n+1-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras E(n) are pseudotriangular. We observe that a laycle on a monoidal category induces a so-called pseudotwistor on every algebra in the category, and we obtain some general results (and give some examples) concerning pseudotwistors, inspired by the properties of laycles and twines.  相似文献

We consider quasitriangular Hopf algebras in braided tensor categories introduced by Majid. It is known that a quasitriangular Hopf algebra H in a braided monoidal category C induces a braiding in a full monoidal subcategory of the category of H-modules in C. Within this subcategory, a braided version of the bosonization theorem with respect to the category C will be proved. An example of braided monoidal categories with quasitriangular structure deviating from the ordinary case of symmetric tensor categories of vector spaces is provided by certain braided supersymmetric tensor categories. Braided inhomogeneous quantum groups like the dilaton free q-Poincaré group are explicit applications.Supported in part by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) through a research fellowship.  相似文献

In this article we extend the Miyashita–Ulbrich action for weak H-Galois extensions associated to a weak bialgebra H. Also, if H is a weak Hopf algebra, we prove that this action induces a monoidal connection with the category of right-right Yetter–Drinfeld modules over H.  相似文献
