This paper is concerned with the well-posedness and asymptotic behavior of Dirichlet initial boundary value problem for a singular parabolic p-biharmonic equation with logarithmic nonlinearity. We establish the local solvability by the technique of cut-off combining with the methods of Faedo–Galerkin approximation and multiplier. Meantime, by virtue of the family of potential wells, we use the technique of modified differential inequality and improved logarithmic Sobolev inequality to obtain the global solvability, infinite and finite time blow-up phenomena, and derive the upper bound of blow-up time as well as the estimate of blow-up rate. Furthermore, the results of blow-up with arbitrary initial energy and extinction phenomena are presented.  相似文献

In this paper we study the spatial behaviour of solutions for the three-phase-lag heat equation on a semi-infinite cylinder. The theory of three-phase-lag heat conduction leads to a hyperbolic partial differential equation with a fourth-order derivative with respect to time. First, we investigate the spatial evolution of solutions of an initial boundary-value problem with zero boundary conditions on the lateral surface of the cylinder. Under a boundedness restriction on the initial data, an energy estimate is obtained. An upper bound for the amplitude term in this estimate in terms of the initial and boundary data is also established. For the case of zero initial conditions, a more explicit estimate is obtained which shows that solutions decay exponentially along certain spatial-time lines. A class of non-standard problems is also considered for which the temperature and its first two time derivatives at a fixed time T0 are assumed proportional to their initial values. These results are relevant in the context of the Saint-Venant Principle for heat conduction problems.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that a stochastic logistic population under regime switching controlled by a Markov chain is either stochastically permanent or extinctive, and we obtain the sufficient and necessary conditions for stochastic permanence and extinction under some assumptions. In the case of stochastic permanence we estimate the limit of the average in time of the sample path of the solution by two constants related to the stationary probability distribution of the Markov chain and the parameters of the subsystems of the population model. Finally, we illustrate our conclusions through two examples.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with models for the interaction of plants, herbivores and their predators. We concentrate on situations in which local colonies of herbivores either over-exploit their host plant or are driven to extinction by predators. Starting from a complicated structured model, in which the local prey and predator density within patches is taken into account, we use time scale arguments to derive a three dimensional system of ordinary differential equations. The simplified system is analysed and the existence of multiple stable steady states is demonstrated.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global stability in determination of a coefficient in the transmission wave equation from data of the solution in a subboundary over a time interval. Providing regular initial data, we prove a hölder stability estimate in the inverse problem with a single measurement. We establish a pointwise comparison result for a nonlinear degenerate elliptic Dirichlet problem using an isoperimetric inequality involving the total mean curvature. In particular this result provides a sharp estimate for the extinction time of a class of compact surfaces, wider than the convex one, moving by mean curvature flow. Finally we present numerical experiments to compare our estimate with those known in literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a backward problem for a time-fractional diffusion equation with variable coefficients in a general bounded domain. That is to determine the initial data from a noisy final data. We propose a quasi-boundary value regularization method combined with an a posteriori regularization parameter choice rule to deal with the backward problem and give the corresponding convergence estimate.  相似文献

We consider a logistic growth model with a predation term and a stochastic perturbation yielding constant elasticity of variance. The resulting stochastic differential equation does not satisfy the standard assumptions for existence and uniqueness of solutions, namely, linear growth and the Lipschitz condition. Nevertheless, for any positive initial condition, we prove that a solution exists and is unique up to the first time it hits zero. Additionally, we provide alternative criteria for population extinction depending on the choice of parameters. More precisely, we provide criteria that guarantee the following: (i) population extinction with positive probability for a set of initial conditions with positive Lebesgue measure; (ii) exponentially fast population extinction with full probability for any positive initial condition; and (iii) population extinction in finite time with full probability for any positive initial condition. The equations for the evolution of electromagnetic fields in chiral media, in the time domain, are nonlocal in time. In this work we study the validity of a singular limit (local in time) approximation for these nonlocal in time equations, by estimating the size of the difference of the fields as predicted by both models. In particular, we establish an a priori estimate for this difference, depending on the time horizon, properties of the domain, spatial properties of the initial data and the source terms and the chirality measure β of the approximating model.  相似文献

In this paper, we study an inverse problem of reconstructing two time independent coefficients and the initial data in the linear reaction diffusion system from the arbitrary subdomain measurement and final measurement. First the given problem is transformed into an optimization problem by using optimal control framework and we establish the existence of the minimizer for the control functional. Further the necessary optimality condition is established which is the key ingredient to establish the stability estimate.  相似文献

In this paper, the stochastic HTLV-I infection model with CTL immune response is investigated. Firstly, we show that the stochastic system exists unique positive global solution originating from the positive initial value. Secondly, we obtain that the existence of ergodic stationary distribution of the model by stochastic Lyapunov functions. Thirdly, we establish sufficient conditions for extinction of the infected cells. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper we apply the method of implicit time discretization to the mean curvature flow equation including outer forces. In the framework ofBV-functions we construct discrete solutions iteratively by minimizing a suitable energy-functional in each time step. Employing geometric and variational arguments we show an energy estimate which assures compactness of the discrete solutions. An additional convergence condition excludes a loss of area in the limit. Thus existence of solutions to the continuous problem can be derived. In this paper, we study a nonlinear parabolic system with variable exponents. The existence of classical solutions to an initial and boundary value problem is obtained by a fixed point theorem of the contraction mapping, and the blow-up property of solutions in finite time is obtained with the help of the eigenfunction of the Laplace equation and a delicate estimate.  相似文献

The dynamics of a population, with its growth characterised by two stages namely an initial non-reproductive stage of length ρ, resistant to the environmental fluctuations and a second susceptible stage adding continuously to the population is modelled. The environment alternates in its character being hostile and favourable.The favourable periods are independently and identically distributed random variables and during the constantharsh periods all the adults in the population are wiped out While the existing models tacitly assume the environmental period to be much smaller than the biological period ρ, our modelling enables us to consider the two periods to be of comparable scale. In such a case, apart from the various statistical characteristics of interest derived, we show that the average extinction time increases with increasing duration of the disturbance, a result which is counter-intutive.Numerical evaluation of the time for extinction for certain values of the parameters involved are made.  相似文献

本文利用美国艾滋病医疗试验机构ACTG的193A研究中的一组非平衡重复测量数据。以log(cd4+1)为体现疗效的因变量,年龄、性别为固定效应,治疗时间和滞后治疗时间为随机效应,同时考虑疗法对疗效的影响引入其与治疗时间的交互效应,建立线性混合效应模型。用SAS软件求解。再通过建立以治疗时间斜率随机效应为因变量初始logcd4为解释变量的回归模型判断艾滋病最佳治疗时机。结果表明,当初始cd4为185个/mm~3时治疗时机最佳,即为无症状感染的晚期.与美国DHHS推荐的小于200个/mm~3一致,却更为科学和精确。本研究对艾滋病治疗的临床实践具有重要的指导意义。  相似文献
