Toluene solutions of titanium tetrachloride-triisobutyl aluminium varying in molar ratio from 1: 3 to 1: 30 are studied by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy at 77 K. It is shown that the stepwise reduction of Ti(IV) to Ti(III) occurs under these conditions, resulting in the formation of TI 2 7+ and TI 2 6+ heterovalent compounds. A feasible mechanism for the interaction between TiCl4 and Al(i-Bu)3 is proposed.  相似文献

The electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy is the only method for detecting free radicals. Free radicals have an increased importance in our daily life. A small transportable EPR spectrometer is presented for the popularisation of the EPR method. The technical construction and some applications are illustrated which show the usability of the spectrometer.  相似文献

The electron paramagnetic resonance of single crystals of 3-nitroacetanilide has been observed and analyzed for different orientations of the crystal in the magnetic field, after being damaged at 300 K by γ-irradiation. The crystals have been investigated between 123 and 300 K. The spectra were found to be temperature independent. The irradiation of 3-nitroacetanilide by γ-rays produces radicals at the nitrogen atoms in the molecule. The principal values of the hyperfine coupling tensor of the unpaired electron and the principal values of the g-tensor were determined.  相似文献

If films of polyolefins are ultraviolet-irradiated at liquid nitrogen temperature, alkyl radicals which can be examined by EPR are produced. No EPR spectra are observed from polyolefins irradiated at room temperature in air. Ultraviolet irradiation of polyolefins containing small alkyl side chains generally produces radicals corresponding to the pendant group or methyl radicals if the side chains contain a methyl branch. For some polymers the radical species could not be identified with certainty. Stabilization studies indicate that an optimum concentration of ultraviolet stabilizer is necessary for maximum stabilization of polyolefins. Preliminary results of EPR studies of the ultraviolet irradiation of various polyolefins are given, and some possible radical species are discussed.  相似文献
