Nickel(II) complexes, having the general composition Ni(L)2X2, have been synthesized [where L: isopropyl methyl ketone semicarbazone (LLA), isopropyl methyl ketone thiosemicarbazone (LLB), 4-aminoacetophenone semicarbazone (LLC) and 4-aminoacetophenone thiosemicarbazone (LLD) and X=Cl-, 1/2SO(4)2-]. All the Ni(II) complexes reported here have been characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic moments, IR, electronic and mass spectral studies. All the complexes were found to have magnetic moments corresponding to two unpaired electrons. The possible geometries of the complexes were assigned on the basis of electronic and infrared spectral studies. Newly synthesized ligand and its nickel(II) complexes have been screened against different bacterial and fungal growth.  相似文献

A new series of cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes, [M(ligand)(H2O)2(Y)] (M = Co(II) or Ni(II); Y = Cl?, Br? or NO3 ?), containing the Schiff-base semicarbazone and thiosemicarbazone, HL1 and HL2, formed from 4-hydroxycoumarin-3-carbaldehyde have been synthesized. The nature of bonding and the stereochemistry of the complexes have been deduced from elemental analyses, infrared, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and conductivity measurements. An octahedral geometry has been suggested for the complexes. The metal complexes were screened for their antifungal and antibacterial activities on different species of pathogenic fungi and bacteria and their biopotency has been discussed.  相似文献

Manganese(II) complexes having the general composition Mn(L)2X2 (where L = 3‐bromoacetophenone semicarbazone, 3‐bromoacetophenone thiosemicarbazone, 1‐tetralone semicarbazone, 1‐tetralone thiosemicarbazone, flavanone semicarbazone or flavanone thiosemicarbazone and X = Cl? or ½SO42?) were synthesized. All the complexes were characterized using elemental analyses, molar conductance and magnetic moment measurements, and mass, 1H NMR, infrared, electron paramagnetic resonance and electronic spectral studies. The molar conductance of the complexes in dimethylsulfoxide lies in the range 10–20 Ω?1 cm2 mol?1 indicating their non‐electrolytic nature. All the complexes show magnetic moments corresponding to five unpaired electrons. The possible geometries of the complexes were assigned on the basis of electron paramagnetic resonance, electronic and infrared spectral studies. Some of the synthesized ligands and their complexes were screened for their antifungal activities against fungi Macrophomina phaseolina, Botrytis cinerea and Phoma glomerata using the food poison technique and their antibacterial activities against Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris and Ralstonia solanacearum using the paper disc diffusion method. They showed appreciable activities.  相似文献

A series of new mixed ligand complexes of Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) with citronellal thiosemicarbazone [3,7-dimethyl-6-octene-1-a1 thiosemicarbazone (LH)] and N-phthaloyl amino acids (AH) have been synthesized by the reaction of metal(II) chloride with ligands citronellal thiosemicarbazone (DOTSC) and N-phthaloyl glycine [1,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-2H-isoindole-2-acetic acid (A1H)] or N-phthaloyl alanine [1,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-α(methyl)-2H-isoindole-2-acetic acid (A2H)] in 1:1:1 molar ratio in dry refluxing ethanol. All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurement, molecular weight measurement, IR, and multinuclear NMR (1H and 13C{1H}) spectral studies. IR, 1H, and 13C{1H} NMR spectral studies suggest the involvement of azomethine-N, thiol-S atoms of the thiosemicarbazone moiety and both carboxylate-O of N-phthaloyl amino acid moiety in coordination with central metal(II) ion, and four coordinated geometries have been assigned to these complexes. The free ligands and metal complexes have been screened for their antifungal activity against two fungal strains, Fusarium moniliformae and Macrophomina phaseolina, using the the radial growth method. The results of antifungal activity show that metal complexes show enhanced higher activity than the free ligands.

2,6-Diformylpyridine bis(N4-methylthiosemicarbazone) and bis(N4-dimethylthiosemicarbazone), H22,6Fo4M and H22,6Fo4DM, respectively, and 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis(N4-methylthiosemicarbazone) and bis(N4-dimethylthiosemicarbazone), H22,6Ac4M and H22,6Ac4DM, and their copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes have been synthesized. The 1H-n.m.r. spectra of the free bis(thiosemicarbazones) show that, most often, one of the thiosemicarbazone moieties is hydrogen bonded to the pyridine nitrogen, and in [2H6]-DMSO there is interaction with solvent oxygen. Golden yellow H22,6Ac4DM has a bifurcated hydrogen bonding interaction by one of the thiosemicarbazone moieties resulting in conjugation. Coordination to copper(II) and nickel(II) centers is via the pyridine nitrogen, amine nitrogen and thiolato sulfur and most of the complexes formed are polynuclear with thiosemicarbazone moieties from the same ligand coordinating to different metal centers.  相似文献

Pyruvaldehyde mixed bis(thiosemicarbazones) have been prepared in which the two thiosemicarbazone moieties have different N(4)-substituents. The mixed bis(thiosemicarbazones) and their copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes have been characterized with IR, electronic, mass, 1H NMR (Ni) and EPR (Cu) spectra. Representative crystal structures have been solved of nickel(II) complexes with either a pyruvaldehyde mixed bis(thiosemicarbazone) or a bis(thiosemicarbazone) with identical N(4)-substituents acting as a tetradentate ligand. [Ni(Pu4M4DE)] has an N(4)-methylthiosemicarbazone substituent on the keto “arm” and N(4)-diethylthiosemicarbazone substituent on the aldehyde arm. [Ni(Pu4M)] contains two N(4)-methylthiosemicarbazone moieties. Both bis(thiosemicarbazones) form square-planar N2S2 complexes with nickel(II) and copper(II).  相似文献

The monobasic bidentate Schiff base complexes of palladium(II) and platinum(II) derived from 1H-indol-2,3-dione thiosemicarbazone (L1H) and 1H-indol-2,3-dione semicarbazone (L2H) have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations, i.r., 1H n.m.r. and u.v. spectral studies. Based on these studies a square planar environment around the metal atoms has been proposed. Antimicrobial effects of both the ligands and their complexes on different species of pathogenic fungi and bacteria have been recorded and these are found to possess significant fungicidal and bactericidal properties.  相似文献

Pyridyl bis(N(4)‐substituted thiosemicarbazones), in which the substituents replacing the NH2 group on the thiosemicarbazone moieties are piperidyl, H2Plpip; hexamethyleneiminyl, H2Plhexim; diethylamino, H2Pl4DE; and dipropylamino, H2Pl4DP, have been synthesized. These bis(thiosemicarbazones) and their nickel(II) complexes have been characterized with IR, electronic, mass, and 1H and 13C NMR spectra. Crystal structures have been solved for H2Plpip and all four nickel(II) complexes. H2Plpip does not possess hydrogen bonding between the thiosemicarbazone moieties, but is in the Z isomeric form with intramolecular hydrogen bonding from both thiosemicarbazone moieties to pyridine nitrogen atoms. The nickel(II) complexes possess square‐planar N2S2 (i. e., imine nitrogen and thiolato sulfur atoms) centers and the two pyridine ring nitrogen atoms are not coordinated.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of tricoordinated tin(II) complexes with semicarbazones and thiosemicarbazones of the type, Sn · L (where L = the semicarbazone or thiosemicarbazone of salicylaldehyde, o-hydroxyacetophenone, 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and benzoin) are reported. On the basis of electronic, IR, 1H NMR and Mössbauer spectral studies, some tentative structures have been proposed for these new compounds.  相似文献

A new series of metal complexes [M(L)2] (where M = Sn(II), Pb(II), and HL = semicarbazone, thiosemicarbazone or phenylthiosemicarbazone) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, conductance measurements, molecular weight determinations, UV–visible, infrared, and nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-, 13C-, and 119Sn-NMR) spectral studies. Elemental analysis of the metal complexes suggested 1 : 2 (metal–ligand) stoichiometry. Infrared spectra of the complexes agree with coordination to the metal through the nitrogen of the azomethine (>C=N?) and the oxygen/sulfur of the ketonic/thiolic group. Electronic spectra suggest a distorted tetrahedral geometry for all Schiff base complexes. The bond lengths, bond angles, highest occupied molecular orbital, lowest unoccupied molecular orbital, Mulliken atomic charges, and the lowest energy model structure of the complexes have been determined with DFT calculations. Representative Schiff base and its metal chelates have been screened for their in vitro antibacterial activity against four bacteria, Gram-positive (Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae) and four strains of fungus (Penicillium chrysogenum, Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus nigricans, and Alternaria alternata). The metal chelates possess higher antimicrobial activity than the free ligands.  相似文献

4-Morpholinoacetophenone thiosemicarbazone, MAPT, and its nickel(Ⅱ) and copper(Ⅱ) complexes have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, spectral methods (FT-IR, ^1H NMR) and cyclic voltammetry. Electrochemical behaviors of the complexes have been studied by cyclic voltammetry in DMF media showing metal centered reduction processes for both of them. The redox properties, nature of the electrode processes and the stability of the complexes were discussed. [Cu(MAPT)2]Cl2 complex shows Cu(Ⅱ)/Cu(Ⅰ) couple and quasi-reversible wave associated with the Cu(Ⅲ)/Cu(Ⅱ) process. The reduction/oxidation potential values depend on the structures of complexes. Also, the antimicrobial activities of these complexes were determined against S. aureus, E. coli and B. subtilis.  相似文献

Seven Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes of ON donor acetone-N(4)-phenylsemicarbazone (HL) have been synthesized and physico-chemically characterized by partial elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, infrared, electronic and 1H NMR spectral studies. The semicarbazone binds the metal as a neutral bidentate ligand in all the complexes. The crystal structures of acetone-N(4)-phenylsemicarbazone and [Cd(HL)2Cl2] have been determined by X-ray diffraction studies. The coordination geometry around cadmium(II) in the complex [Cd(HL)2Cl2] is distorted octahedral.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were synthesized with thiosemicarbazone (L(1)) and semicarbazone (L(2)) derived from 2-acetyl furan. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moment, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurement of the complexes in DMSO corresponds to non-electrolytic nature. All the complexes are of high-spin type. On the basis of different spectral studies six coordinated geometry may be assigned for all the complexes except Co(L)(2)(SO(4)) and Cu(L)(2)(SO(4)) [where L=L(1) and L(2)] which are of five coordinated square pyramidal geometry.  相似文献

A new series of mixed ligand semicarbazone or thiosemicarbazone complexes of Ru(II) having the general formula [RuCO(EPh3)(B)L] (where E = P or As; B = PPh3, AsPh3 or Pyridine; L = dibasic tridentate ligand derived by the condensation of ethylacetoacetate/methylacetoacetate and thiosemicarbazide/semicarbazide) have been synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical, spectroscopic and electrochemical studies. A comparative study on the catalysis of oxidation of benzyl alcohol, cyclohexanol, cinnamyl alcohol, n-butanol, n-propanol and iso-butyl alcohol has been done with N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide and molecular oxygen as co-oxidants. Catalytic activity studies of the complexes in coupling reactions have been carried out. The antibacterial properties of the complexes have also been examined.  相似文献

The bonding and structural features of antimony(III) complexes of the type, (PriO)SbL and Sb2L3 are described (where L is the dianion of semicarbazone or thiosemicarbazone). The Mössbauer spectra are typical of Sb(III) complexes in which the non-bonding pair of electrons is stereochemically active. The thiosemicarbazone complexes show more negative isomer shifts compared to the semicarbazone complexes.  相似文献
