The superconducting and magnetic properties of Nb/Pd1-xFex/Nb triple layers with constant Nb layer thickness dNb=200 ? and different interlayer thicknesses 3 ?≤ dPdFe ≤ ? are investigated. The thickness dependence of the magnetization and of the superconducting transition temperature shows
that for small iron concentration x the Pd1-xFex layer is likely to be in the paramagnetic state for very thin films whereas ferromagnetic order is established for x ≥ 0.13.
The parallel critical field Bc2||(T){B_{c2||}}(T) exhibits a transition from two-dimensional (2D) behavior where the Nb films are coupled across the interlayer, towards a
2D behavior of decoupled Nb films with increasing dPdFeand/or x. This transition allows a determination of the penetration depth xF{\xi _F} of Cooper pairs into the Pd1-xFex layer as a function of x. For samples with a ferromagnetic interlayer xF{\xi _F} is found to be independent of x. 相似文献

The effect of ion bombardment on the growth of Nb films and their crystal structure is investigated. Epitaxial niobium films with the (001) orientation are grown on (01i2) Al2O3 substrates heated to 600°C and biased at ?20 V. Niobium films with pronounced axial texture in the [110] direction are grown on water-cooled Sitall (devitrified glass such as Pyroceram) substrates. In Nb films biased at ?50 V, which are in the superconducting state, the motion of individual magnetic vortices is observed with a magnetooptic indicator. 相似文献

We present the results of a study of structural and superconducting properties of polycrystalline Nb thin films (200 Å, 300 Å, 400 Å, 700 Å and 1000 Å) and Nb/Cu bilayers (300 Å/300 Å and 400 Å/300 Å) prepared on Si substrates by ion beam sputtering at room temperature. The thicknesses, roughnesses at the surfaces and interfaces were determined by X-ray reflectivity whereas the grain sizes were determined from grazing incidence X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopic studies. The superconducting transition temperature (TC) of Nb thin films are smaller than TC of bulk Nb. The Nb-200 Å sample does not show TC down to 2.3 K. The average size of the grains varies from 42 Å for Nb-200 Å sample to 69 Å for Nb-1000 Å sample. Our results show that the TC in these polycrystalline films is not only limited by its thickness but also by the size of the grains. The Nb films deposited in situ on the Cu layer (Nb/Cu) show a marginal increase in average sizes of the grains as compare to their respective values in Nb films of same thicknesses. As a result a marginal increase in TC of these films is also observed. The maximum decrease in TC due to oxygen intake during deposition should be about 0.5 K from its bulk value (9.28 K). We have attributed the large decrease in TC in our case on the basis of decrease in the Debye temperature and density of states at the Fermi level for Nb thin films as compared to their respective values for bulk Nb. 相似文献

We present measurements of the attenuation and phase velocity of surface acoustic waves in thin YBa2Cu3O films as a function of temperature, in magnetic fields up to 3.6 T applied parallel to the c-axis of the films. We have observed anomalies in both, the attenuation and the phase velocity in the vicinity of the superconducting
critical temperature which do not depend on the magnetic field. Possible origins of these anomalies, observed, to our knowledge,
for the first time in YBa2Cu3O thin films, are discussed and compared to bulk acoustic wave experiments. We present a kind of feedback technique for surface
acoustic waves which improves the sensitivity of this type of measurement. The actual sensitivity limits are mentioned.

We investigated the dc magnetic field and temperature dependences of the microwave surface resistance (Rs) of YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) and DyBa2Cu3Oy (DyBCO) superconducting thin films. The YBCO and DyBCO thin films, each with a thickness of 300, 500, or 700 nm, were deposited on MgO (1 0 0) substrates by the thermal co-evaporation method. The Rs was measured using the dielectric resonator method. A dc magnetic field of up to 5.0 T was applied parallel to the c-axis of the superconducting thin films. The results showed that the Rs value had almost the same temperature dependence at various thicknesses in a zero-external field. The Rs of the YBCO and DyBCO thin films increased with the applied dc magnetic field. The DyBCO thin films showed weaker magnetic field dependence of Rs than the YBCO thin films. The Rs ratio (defined as Rs(5 T)/Rs(0 T)) linearly increased with the film thickness. These results show that pinning strength decreased with an increasing film thickness. 相似文献

Crystallization behavior and soft magnetic properties of the FeSiBCuNbM (M=Al or Ni) Finemet alloys are investigated by X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, hysteresis loop tracer, and vibrating sample magnetometry. The nanocrystalline alloys are prepared by annealing melt-spun amorphous ribbons at different temperatures. Results indicate that the partial substitution of Ni or Al for Nb results in the increase of saturation magnetic induction density (Bs) of the alloys. The alloys with Al or Ni show favorable combination of soft magnetic properties. The partial substitution of Ni for Nb enhances the Bs value, while Al decreases coercivity. The mechanism underlining the magnetic behavior is discussed. 相似文献

The superconducting parameters and macrostructure of YBaCuO thin films grown by laser ablation on SrTiO3 substrates are influenced by the substrate temperature during growth. In a study of this influence it is found that the macrostructure
has significant bearing on the superconducting parameters of the films and on the critical current, in particular. For J
c⩽105 A/cm2 the films have a distinctly pronounced granular structure, while for J
c>105 A/cm2 the films do not have any kind of block structure.

We investigate the spin Hall magnetoresistance (SMR) in niobium (Nb) attached to Y3Fe5O12 near the superconducting critical temperature (Tc) of Nb. The SMR vanishes after cooling the sample below Tc, and recovers if the temperature is raised. When a magnetic field larger than the critical field of Nb is applied, the SMR re‐emerges with an enhanced magnitude even if the temperature is below Tc. The experimental results demonstrate that the SMR could be completely suppressed by the coupling between superconducting condensation and spin–orbit interaction in superconductors. In addition to the fundamental physics on the charge–spin interactions in superconductors, our work adds a different dimension to superconducting spintronics. (© 2015 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH &Co. Magnetic and magneto-optical properties of Co/Nb-codoped TiO2 films deposited by gas flow sputtering

Titanium dioxide thin films codoped with Co and Nb (Co/Nb-codoped TiO2 films) were fabricated by a low-energy deposition process, gas flow sputtering. No metallic Co or Nb phase was detected by X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, suggesting that the Co and Nb ions have the oxidation states 2+ and 5+, respectively. The films show a relatively large Faraday rotation and magnetic circular dichroism on the order of 103 deg/cm. 相似文献

Summary Polycrystalline thin films of the ferromagnetic semiconductor HgCr2Se4 have been prepared for the first time on insulating MgAl2O4 single-crystal substrates by molecular-beam deposition and subsequent annealing with HgSe. The optimum conditions for preparing
single-phase thin films of HgCr2Se4 were obtained. The magnetoresistance and Hall effects of these films were measured from 77 to 295 K in magnetic fields up
to 1.19·106 A/m. It becomes evident that these electrical properties of the films are affected by the interdiffusion layers in the films
near the substrates or the magnetically disordered layers such as amorphous or grain boundaries in the films.

The critical current density J c is one of the most important parameters of high temperature superconducting films in superconducting applications,such as superconducting filter and superconducting Josephson devices.This paper presents a new model to describe inhomogeneous current distribution throughout the thickness of superconducting films applying magnetic field by solving the differential equation derived from Maxwell equation and the second London equation.Using this model,it accurately calculates the inductive third-harmonic voltage when the film applying magnetic field with the inductive measurement for J c.The theoretic curve is consistent with the experimental results about measuring superconducting film,especially when the third-harmonic voltage just exceeds zero.The J c value of superconducting films determined by the inductive method is also compared with results measured by four-probe transport method.The agreements between inductive method and transport method are very good. 相似文献

Single-crystalline Nb films are grown on (1120) oriented sapphire substrates by electron-beam evaporation in ultra-high vacuum. The films are studied in-situ by RHEED and Auger analysis. At a substrate temperature T
S=750° C the RHEED pattern shows a smooth growth of bcc-Nb in the [110] direction. In addition to the fundamental streaks, we observe superlattice streaks of fractional order in several azimuthal directions. The reciprocal lattice of the surface is determined. The basic vectors of the superlattice in real space are given by b

1 and a
2 are the basic vectors of the Nb (110) surface. Auger analysis shows that the surface of these films is contaminated with oxygen. Therefore, the superstructure is attributed to a modified surface structure due to segregated oxygen, possibly having diffused from the sapphire to the film surface. The superstructure dissappears during further evaporation of Nb at T
S<450° C with a concomitant decrease of the oxygen signal. Nb films on sapphire with a clean, oxygen-free surface can only be prepared at lower temperatures in an island-growth mode. 相似文献

We report a facile method to enhance the critical current density (Jc) of superconducting MgB2 thin films. MgB2 thin films were deposited on zinc acetate dehydrate (Zn(CH3COO)22H2O) spin-coated Al2O3 (000l) substrates by using a hybrid physical-chemical vapor deposition system at low temperatures. Synthesis of MgB2 at low temperatures can reduce the substitution of Zn into the Mg site, hence avoiding the reduction of superconducting critical temperature. MgB2 thin films grown on ZnO-buffered layers showed a significant enhancement of Jc in the magnetic field due to the creation of additional pinning sources, namely point defects and grain boundaries. Broad peaks were observed in the magnetic field dependence of the flux pinning force density, indicating competition of different pinning sources. 相似文献

CeCoIn5 (Co115) thin films have been grown on Al2O3 (000l) substrates through the pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The films are grown mainly along the c-axis, with CeIn3 and In-related alloys. The rock-salt type grains are nucleated, where Co115 grains mixed with excess indium are evenly distributed over the substrate. The electrical resistivity of the films shows a Kondo coherence peak near 47 K and the zero-resistance superconducting state at 1.8 K, which is the first observation in the PLD grown thin films of Co115. The Rietveld refinement of the thin films shows that the c/a ratio (tetragonality) is suppressed to 1.6312 from 1.6374 of single crystals, which is consistent with the linear relationship between the superconducting transition temperature and tetragonality. The good agreement indicates that the PLD could provide an alternative route to tune the 2D character of the critical spin fluctuations to understand the superconducting pairing mechanism of Co115. 相似文献

Nanostructured single phase strontium hexaferrite, SrFe12O19, thin films have been synthesized on the (100) silicon substrate using a spin coating sol–gel process. The thin films with various Fe/Sr molar ratios of 8–12 were calcined at different temperatures from 500 to 900 °C. The composition, microstructure and magnetic properties of the SrFe12O19 thin films were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results showed that the optimum molar ratio for Fe/Sr was 10 at which the lowest calcination temperature to obtain the single phase strontium hexaferrite thin film was 800 °C. The magnetic measurements revealed that the sample with Fe/Sr molar ratio of 10, exhibited higher saturation magnetization (267.5 emu/cm3) and coercivity (4290 Oe) in comparison with those synthesized under other Fe/Sr molar ratios. 相似文献
