STUDY ON THE KINETIC ENERGY BUDGET OF A TYPHOON——BUDGETS OF KINETIC ENERGY IN GENERAL FLOW AND EDDY KINETIC ENERGY

The present paper studies the budgets of kinetic energy in general flow and eddy kinetic energy of Typhoon No. 7, 1975, with a special emphasis on the effects of the divergent and non-divergent winds on the generatioan and transport of kinetic energy. It has been found that:(1) As the typhoon developed and intensified, the generation of kinetic energy of di-vergent wind decreased relatively while that of non-dlvergent wind significantly increased and eventually became the primary term of the generation of kinetic energy. For the entire life spau of the typhoon, the generation of kinetic energy of divergent flow is the primary source of kinetic energy (4W/m~2) with the production of kinetic energy by non-divergent wind being only 0.5 W/m~2.(2) For the budget of eddy kinetic energy, at the initial stage a large amount of eddy kinetle energy needed to be imported from the region outside the typhoon, and at the mature stage a significant amount of eddy kinetic energy was exported. DIRECT CONVERSION OF METHANE TO METHANOL——THE EFFECT OF SENSITIZERS ON THE YIELD OF METHANOL AND THE KINETIC STUDY

The partial oxidation of methane to methanol was studied. The effectof various homogeneous "sensitizers" on the oxidation of pure methane was e-valuated at 433℃ and under a pressure of 5.0MPa. It was found that CH_3NO_2was the best one among them. A kinetic study in the presence of CH_3NO_2 wascarried out and the reaction mechanism was discussed.     

A STUDY ON THE RECEPTIVE FIELD OF ACUPOINTS AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHARACTERISTICS OF NEEDLING SENSATION AND GROUPS OF AFFERENT FIBRES

We have recorded the afferent unit discharges and using it as an index, measured the locations and the volumes of nine acupoints, such as Neiguan and Shaoshang, which are innervated by median nerve. We have also investigated. the relationships between electric needling sensations and afferent fibres of different groups as well as manual needling sensations by means of analysing power-spectrum of the unit discharges with FFT. It has been found that the fibres of Group Ⅱ and Group Ⅳ convey numbness and soreness, respectively. The fibres of Group Ⅲ relates to the conduction of heaviness and distention closely.     

A THEORETICAL STUDY ON THE STRUCTURES AND ENERGIES OF DIMER AND TRIMER OF DELTIC ACID （2，3—DIHYDROXYCYCLOPROPENE—1—ONE）

<正> The structures of deltic acid,its diner, and its trimer have been studied by semiempirical chemical method AMI.The stabilization energies of dinerization and trinerization are 32 and 65 kJ/mol- aspectively. The length of hydrogen-bond R(O...H-0) in diner is 3.04A,while the sane bond is slightly longer in trimer(R=3.06A).     

A THEORETICAL STUDY OF THE THERMODYNAMIC AND KINETIC PROPERTIES FOR THE REACTION OF FORMYL CYANIDE DECOMPOSITION

We compute the thermodynamic and the kinetic properties for the reaction:HCOCN→HCH+CO using the statistical theory and the transition-state theory.The equi-librium constants and the rate coefficients of this reaction are also reported here,andthe half lives of formyl cyanide at different temperatures are first estimated in thiswork.     

STUDY OF THE REACTION BETWEEN α-KETOTHIOANILIDE AND PHENYLENE DIAMINE

When α-ketothioanilide reacts with o-phenylenediamine,there aretwo competing reactions.One is condensation which forms substituted quinoxalineand the other is substitution which forms substituted quinoxaline-2-thione·Bycontrolling the reaction condition,we can obtain either quinoxaline orquinoxaline-2-thione as the main product.     

STUDY ON THE INTERACTION OF Se AND ERYTHROCYTE MEMBRANE——PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF Se ON THE ERYTHROCYTE MEMBRANES

During the ageing of erythrocyte membrane, the spectrin content, Na, K-ATPase activity as well as the lipid fluidity are obviously decreased. However, supplementation of a trace amount of Na_2SeO_3 in the medium could prevent the dissociation of spectrin from membrane and delay the changes of Na, K-ATPase activity and lipid fluidity. The effectiveness is proportional to Se concentration within the range of 0.1—1.0 ppm.Similar effect of supplementation of Se on the intact erythrocytes during ageing has been also observed.The protective action of Se on biomembranes is generally interpreted in terms of the activity of Se-containing glutathione peroxidase (GSHPx). However, GSHPx mainly distributes in the cytoplasma of erythrocytes, therefore it seems that the protective action of supplemented Se on the isolated erythrocyte membrane might not be related to the activity of GSHPx.     

NEW RESULTS ON THE BENZYLATION OF SATURATED MONO- AND DISACCHARIDES—A SEMIEMPIRICAL STUDY

The electroreductive conversion of saturated carbohydrates in aprotic media and the subsequent quenching with benzyl bromide results in the formation of benzyl ethers at different C-positions. The application of the semiempirical method AM1 for the calculation of the thermodynamic stability of the intermediate anions formed allows a correct prediction of the observed substitution pattern for the saturated monosaccharides methyl α-d-glucoside, methyl α-d-mannoside, methyl α-d-galactoside, and the unsaturated monosaccharide d-glucal. It is shown that the inclusion of solvent effects via the COSMO continuum model is essential, as it reduces the effect of intramolecular hydrogen bonding as the sole stabilization mode in the gas phase. The results for the disaccharide sucrose are somewhat ambiguous, the three observed substitution positions are among the four most stable calculated anions. This particular system appears to be too complex to be represented by a single conformation.     

STUDY ON THE TREATMENT AND REUSE OF WASTEWATER FROM THE PRODUCTION OF 2—NAPHTHANOL

Systematic studies on the treatment and reuse of the acid industrial watewater containing sodium 2-Naphthylsulfonate(β-salt)from 2-Naphthanol production process by ND-910 resin (made by self) is reported in this paper.Under the operation conditions of initial β-salt concentration of 10000-25000mg/L and initial CODCr of 20000-40000mg/L,the removal rates of Sodium 2-Naphthylsulfonate and CODCr are over 95% and over 89%,respectively.The effluent can be discharged directly after biological degradation.The working sorption capacity of ND-910 Resin for β-salt is over 230g/kg.An alkali-water wash procedure isutilized to regenerate resin and the reclaiming rate of β-salt is over 98%.     

A QUANTUM CHEMISTRY STUDY ON THE SIZE-DEPENDENCE OF THE CHEMISORPTION OF AMMONIA AND CARBON MONOXIDE ON ALUMINUM CLUSTERS

The chemisorption intensities of NH_3 and CO on aluminum clusters A1_n(n=l-13)have been theoretically predicted by using CNDO/2 method and properly selecting the clusters'geometries.The results show that the chemisorptions of NH_3 and GO on Al_2,Al_6 and Al_12 aremagically stable and thus are in good agreement with the experimental results.In addition,anelectronic structure analysis is made to expound the nature of such a size effect.     

STUDY ON THE REACTION OF ACYLISOCYANATE AND ARYL UREA

Acyl isocyanate(Ⅰ) was synthesized by the reaction of acyl chloride with lead cyanate in dichloromethane, using pyridine as a catalyst. Then, adding aryl urea(Ⅱ) to acyl isocyanate, 1-acyl-5-aryl-biuret (Ⅲ) can be obtained. 14 compounds have been synthesized by this method.     

DYNAMIC MONTE CARLO STUDY ON THE CORRELATION BETWEEN SHAPE AND SIZE OF LINEAR POLYMER CHAINS

The correlation between shape and size of linear chains on the simple cubic lattice is investigated using a dynamicMonte Carlo technique. A positive correlation between the asphericity parameter A and the square of the end-to-end distanceR~2, as well as that between A and the square of the radius of gyration S~2, is found for both RW and SAW chains, indicatingthat a chain conformation of small size is usually more spherical than one of large size. The result can explain why the shapeof the SAW chain deviate much more from a sphere than that of the RW chain, and can also explain the similar dependenceof size and shape on chain stiffness and on the distance of the first bead of a chain from an infinitely large flat surface.     

A STUDY ON THE MORPHOLOGY AND PROPERTIES OF IPP/IIR BLENDS

The effect of isobutylene-isoprene rubber (IIR) on the crystallizing behavior of isotactic polypropylene (IPP) as well as the morphology of the blends in relation with its properties have been studied by DSC, WAXD, polarized light microscope, SEM and mechanical properties test. The experimental results show that IIR has slight influence on melting point, crystallinity, crystallization rate of IPP. It seems certain that IIR has not entered into IPP phase in melt state. IIR has retarding action on the growth of IPP crystal and is an effective nucleating agent of IPP spherulites. The impact strength of the blend increases rapidly with IIR content more than 30 parts; the tensile strength of the blend, however, decreases as IIR content increases. The temperature and time of alter heat-treatment also have great influence on the impact strength of the blend. The impact strength of IPP/IIR (100/20) heat-treated at about 130℃for 2h is 5 times as high as that of the untreated blend.     

A STUDY ON THE INTERACTION BETWEEN CH_3OH AND H_2CO MOLECULES IN TERMS OF THE PROPERTIES OF CHARGE DENSITY DISTRIBUTIONS

Two possible complexes formed by the interaction of CH_3OH and H_2CO,one hydrogen-bonded(Ⅰ)and one donor-acceptor complex(Ⅱ),have been reported in the previous paper.Based on theab initio 6-31G basis set calculations,the properties of the charge density for the complexeshave beenanalyzed using the theory of atoms in molecules.The nature of the complex formation has beendiscussed in terms of the properties of the charge density distributions.     

STUDY ON THE INTERACTION OF Se AND ERYTHROCYTE MEMBRANE——EFFECT OF Se ON THE Na, K-ATPase ACTIVITY AND FLUIDITY OF ERYTHROCYTE MEMBRANES

The content of binding-Se in erythrocyte membrane may affect its structure and function. Decrease in So content will lead to a lower activity of Na, K-ATPase and lipid fluidity in ghosts, and a marked increase in Na, K-ATPase activity as well as lipid fluidity of erythrocyte membrane was observed by supplementation of low concentration of Na_2SeO_3 (0.03—0.3 ppm Se), in vitro. This effect was obvious only when the ghosts wore incubated with Se at 0—4°C for at least half an hour prior to assay.     

A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE IMMUNODIAGNOSIS OF PARAGONIMIASIS——THE PHYSICO-CHEMICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CRUDE AND PARTIALLY PURIFIED ANTIGENS OF THE PARAGONIMUS WESTERMANI (LIAONING)

We have now succeeded in preparing a partially purified antigen (Fr. 1). The positive rates of the indirect ELISA were 100% both for sera of proved human cases and dogs infected with Paragonimus westermani when Fr. 1 was used, whereas the positive rates of the test were 71.4% and 75% on sera from patients and infected dogs respectively when crude antigen was used. Moreover, it is also better than the crude antigen in specificity, so a more reliable test in immunodiagnosis of paragonimiasis is available in our laboratory.     

A STUDY ON THE PLEISTOCENE STRATA AND THEIR DEPOSITIONAL ENVIRONMENT ON THE SONGLIAO PLAIN OF NORTHEAST CHINA

This paper deals with the Pleistocene strata and their depositional environment on theSongliao Plain of Northeast China by applying determinative and analytic techniques of spore-pollen, magnetic stratigraphy, clay minerals, isotopic dating, sedimentary facies, etc. Resultsshow that the underlying sand gravel layer below 75-80 m in depth in the central plain belongsto the alluvial-lacustrine deposits with a time range of 2.48-1.87 Ma, known as the lowerlimit of the Quaternary. As to the massive clay layer, its lower part, 40-30 m thick, belongsto the middle late period of the early Pleistocene, ranging from 2.01-0.73 Ma, while its upperpart, 25-21 m thick, belongs to the middle Pleistocene, ranging from 0.73-20 Ma, with amean sedimentation rate of 3-4 mm/1000a under the big lake, long-range gentle and steadydepositional environment.     

A STUDY ON THE SPECTRUM CHARACTER AND PHOTOSTABILIZATION ABILITY OF A NOVEL UV-ABSORBER-DIBENZOYL METHANE

The absorption and fluorescence spectra of dibenzoyl methane have been studied. From the absorption spectra it was found that there are two peaks locating at 252 nm and 340 nm, respectively, similar to that of o-hydroxy benzophenone which can form intra-molecular hydrogen bond. Besides, an uncommonly large Stoke's shift of fluorescence can be observed in fluorescence spectra. The photostabilizing effects of dibenzoyl methane and UV-531 on the photodegradation of poly (cis-1, 4-butadiene) in solution have been investigated and compared. A possible mechanism was discussed.
