We develop theoretically a method for determining the Doppler frequency shift on individual rays in ionospheric sounding. The method is based on using periodic chirp signals. The potential resolution and range of the measured Doppler-shifted frequencies are determined. Application of this method yields the relationship between the Doppler shift of the propagation-mode frequency and the velocity of a horizontal displacement of the hop tops along the Khabarovsk-Yoshkar-Ola radio path. Significant correlations between the mode order in the ionosphere and the Doppler shift, Doppler-spectrum width, and stationarity time of the propagation channel are found. 相似文献

We present a review of materials related to a chirp ionosonde and its application in the ionospheric research. The principle of operation of an ionosonde radiating a continuous signal with linear frequency modulation is described. The chirp-ionosonde resolution and gain in the signal-to-noise ratio are estimated. Examples of applying a chirp ionosonde to problems of ionospheric HF-wave propagation are considered. Prospects for ionospheric research on the basis of a network of oblique chirp-sounding paths are discussed. 相似文献

以利用双曲渐减的正常色散渐减光纤(ND-DDF)获得啁啾抛物线脉冲为基础,进一步利用对称分布傅立叶的数值方法,研究了其它色散渐减的ND-DDF获得啁啾抛物线脉冲的情况.数值研究的结果表明:在采用不同的色散渐减时,如线性、指数、高斯、余弦、双曲等,最终输出的脉冲均具有较好的线性啁啾,且基本符合抛物线形状,这说明在利用ND-DDF获得啁啾抛物线脉冲时色散渐减方式可灵活选择;同时结果还显示,色散渐减的方式导致所得脉冲的啁啾强度、以及脉冲宽度和峰值功率会有所差异;文章最后给出了不同情况下抛物线脉冲经啁啾补偿后的输出脉冲形状和压缩因子. 相似文献

This article investigates the interaction between the third-order dispersion in optical fiber and the nonlinear (quadratic) chirp of Gaussian impulses. A formula is obtained for the impulse form at the fiber far end. The impulse propagation in nonlinear fiber is also examined by means of a computer simulation. The obtained results indicate that the interaction may lead to significant distortion of optical impulses at the fiber output even when the second-order dispersion is entirely canceled and the input impulse has no linear chirp. This distortion is more pronounced when the dispersion slope, fiber length, and nonlinear chirp parameter increase. 相似文献

A simple technique of pulse compression, based on the linear chirp compensation of self-phase modulation (SPM) spectra in dispersion shifted fibers, is demonstrated. The optimization procedure is carried out, for a short span of a single-mode fiber, using a parabolic law, which describes the behavior of the squared output pulse width versus the pump peak power in the case of Gaussian pulses. The experimental results give a minimum pulse duration of 233 fs, which is in good agreement with the model. Shorter and coherent pulses, down to 90 fs, have been obtained by inserting an interference filter at the optical output. 相似文献

从非线性薛定谔方程出发,采用变分法,导出了色散缓变光纤中超高斯脉冲参数随传输距离的演化方程组及其解,讨论了初始啁啾对色散缓变光纤中超高斯脉冲传输特性的影响.求出了振幅与脉宽、频率与啁啾、脉宽与啁啾之间的三个解析约束关系,得出了脉宽随传输距离演化的解析解,用龙格-库塔法进行数值求解描绘了初始啁啾和脉冲前后沿锐度对呈指数变化的色散缓变光纤中超高斯脉冲的脉宽的影响.结果表明:初始嘣啾、色散缓变和脉冲前后沿锐度对超高斯脉冲的振幅、脉宽、唰啾和相位有直接影响,脉冲前后沿锐度对超高斯脉冲中心位置没有影响,超高斯脉冲传输过程中会产生唰啾,但脉冲中心的等效频率保持为常数. 相似文献

An intrinsic Fabry-Perot cavity consisted of different reflective mirrors is used in fiber-optical sensors for measuring the strain. The character of the unsymmetrical fiber-optical Fabry-Perot cavity and fiber-optic longitudinal stress-strain effect is analysed. The general theory and measurement method of strain are presented. Several kinds of waveguide components such as curved waveguide bends, arbitrary angle waveguide bends and T-junctions have been analyzed with boundary element method in this paper. A new discretization method for the boundary element method to solve the waveguide discontinuities has been given. The numerical results obtained agree well with the experimental results and numerical results in other literature. Especially, the scattering characteristics of Forded E-, H-plane T-junctions in 3mm band have been analyzed using boundary element method and the calculation results are presented. 相似文献
