Closed-Range Composition Operators on Weighted Bergman Spaces

For analytic self-maps φ of the unit disk, we show that recently given conditions that are both necessary and sufficient for the composition operator C _φ to be closed-range on the classical Bergman space \mathbbA²{\mathbb{A}^2} are actually necessary and sufficient in the general setting of the weighted Bergman spaces \mathbbA^p_a{\mathbb{A}^p_{\alpha}} , for 1 ≤ p < ∞ and weights of the form (1 - |z|²)^a{(1 - |z|^2)^{\alpha}} ; where α > −1. Along the way, we show how work done in a paper of J. Akeroyd, P. Ghatage and M. Tjani can be used to improve upon the most definitive of these conditions, and we give applications.

Topological Structure of the Set of Weighted Composition Operators on Weighted Bergman Spaces of Infinite Order

We consider the topological space of all weighted composition operators on weighted Bergman spaces of infinite order endowed with the operator norm. We show that the set of compact weighted composition operators is path connected. Furthermore, we find conditions to ensure that two weighted composition operators are in the same path connected component if the difference of them is compact. Moreover, we compare the topologies induced by L(H^∞) and L(H^∞_v) on the space of bounded composition operators and give a sufficient condition for a composition operator to be isolated.     

Hyponormal Toeplitz Operators on the Weighted Bergman Space

Consider j = f +[`(g)]\varphi = f + \overline {g}, where f and g are polynomials, and let T_jT_{\varphi} be the Toeplitz operators with the symbol j\varphi. It is known that if T_jT_{\varphi} is hyponormal then |f￠(z)|² 3 |g￠(z)|²|f'(z)|^{2} \geq |g'(z)|^{2} on the unit circle in the complex plane. In this paper, we show that it is also a necessary and sufficient condition under certain assumptions. Furthermore, we present some necessary conditions for the hyponormality of T_jT_{\varphi} on the weighted Bergman space, which generalize the results of I. S. Hwang and J. Lee.     

Weighted Composition Operators from the Bloch Space to Weighted Banach Spaces on Bounded Homogeneous Domains

We study the bounded and the compact weighted composition operators from the Bloch space into the weighted Banach spaces of holomorphic functions on bounded homogeneous domains, with particular attention to the unit polydisk. For bounded homogeneous domains, we characterize the bounded weighted composition operators and determine the operator norm. In addition, we provide sufficient conditions for compactness. For the unit polydisk, we completely characterize the compact weighted composition operators, as well as provide ＂computable＂ estimates on the operator norm.     

Weighted Composition Operators on Bergman and Dirichlet Spaces

Let H() denote a functional Hilbert space of analytic functions on a domain . Let w : C and : be such that w f is in H() for every f in H(). The operator wC given by f w f is called a weighted composition operator on H(). In this paper we characterize such operators and those for which (wC )* is a composition operator. Compact weighted composition operators on some functional Hilbert spaces are also characterized. We give sufficient conditions for the compactness of such operators on weighted Dirichlet spaces.     

Hermitian Weighted Composition Operators and Bergman Extremal Functions

Weighted composition operators have been related to products of composition operators and their adjoints and to isometries of Hardy spaces. In this paper, Hermitian weighted composition operators on weighted Hardy spaces of the unit disk are studied. In particular, necessary conditions are provided for a weighted composition operator to be Hermitian on such spaces. On weighted Hardy spaces for which the kernel functions are ${(1 - \overline{w}z)^{-\kappa}}$ for κ ≥ 1, including the standard weight Bergman spaces, the Hermitian weighted composition operators are explicitly identified and their spectra and spectral decompositions are described. Some of these Hermitian operators are part of a family of closely related normal weighted composition operators. In addition, as a consequence of the properties of weighted composition operators, we compute the extremal functions for the subspaces associated with the usual atomic inner functions for these weighted Bergman spaces and we also get explicit formulas for the projections of the kernel functions on these subspaces.

Compact Toeplitz Operators for Weighted Bergman Spaces on Bounded Symmetric Domains

Let W ì \mathbb C^d{\Omega \subset{\mathbb C}^{d}} be an irreducible bounded symmetric domain of type (r, a, b) in its Harish–Chandra realization. We study Toeplitz operators Tⁿ_g{T^{\nu}_{g}} with symbol g acting on the standard weighted Bergman space H_n²{H_\nu^2} over Ω with weight ν. Under some conditions on the weights ν and ν ₀ we show that there exists C(ν, ν ₀) > 0, such that the Berezin transform [(g)\tilde]_n0{\tilde{g}_{\nu_{0}}} of g with respect to H²_n0{H^2_{\nu_0}} satisfies:

Essential Norm of Toeplitz Operators and Hankel Operators on the Weighted Bergman Space

In this paper, we show that on the weighted Bergman space of the unit disk the essential norm of a noncompact Hankel operator equals its distance to the set of compact Hankel operators and is realized by infinitely many compact Hankel operators, which is analogous to the theorem of Axler, Berg, Jewell and Shields on the Hardy space in Axler et al. (Ann Math 109:601–612, 1979); moreover, the distance is realized by infinitely many compact Hankel operators with symbols continuous on the closure of the unit disk and vanishing on the unit circle.
