A neutralization-reionization study of [C3Hn]+ ions, n = 6?0, shows that neutralization efficiencies are larger for hydrocarbon radical cations than they are for even-electron carbocations with one more H atom. Reionization efficiencies to positive ions do not depend appreciably on the electronic properties of the neutral species undergoing reionization. However, reionization efficiencies to negative ions increase dramatically with the degree of unsaturation, by nearly two orders of magnitude, from C3H6 to C3. All C3Hn neutrals studied survive intact neutralization to produce a considerable fraction of stable, non-dissociating [C3Hn]+ upon cationization. All C3Hn radicals (n = 5, 3, 1) can be transferred collisionally to stable even-electron anions. For the C3Hn hydrocarbon molecules studied (n = 6, 4, 2, 0) the stability of the molecular radical anion increases substantially with the degree of unsaturation.  相似文献

Cations with Xenon-Carbon Bonds. 4 Salts with Monosubstituted Phenyl Xenon Cation: Preparation, Stability and Reactivity . Nucleophilic fluorine aryl substitution reactions with monosubstituted phenylboranes (X? C6H4)3B and fluorophenylboranes (X? C6H4)nBF3?n (n = 1 and 2; X = m-F, p-F, m-CF3 and p-CF3) on XeF2 lead to the formation of [X? C6H4Xe]+ salts with arylfluoroborate anions [(X? C6H4)nBF4?n]? (n = 2, 1 and 0). Their thermal behaviour, their spectroscopic properties and first investigations concerning their reactivity are reported.  相似文献

The processes of H3O+ production from alcohols (ethanol, 2‐propanol, 1‐propanol, 2‐butanol) and ethers (diethyl ether and ethyl methyl ether), and their deuterium‐substituted species, by intense laser fields (800 nm, 100 fs, ~1 × 1014 W/cm) were investigated through time‐of‐flight (TOF) mass spectrometry. H3O+ formation was observed for all these compounds except for ethyl methyl ether. From the analysis of TOF signals of H(3?n)DnO+ (n = 0, 1, 2, and 3) that have expanding tails with increasing flight time, it has been confirmed that the reaction proceeds through metastable dissociation from the intermediate species C2H(5?m)DmO+(m = 0–5). The common shape of the H(3?n)DnO+ signal profiles contains two major distributions in the time constant, i.e., fast and slow components of <50 ns and ~500 ns, respectively. The H(3?n)DnO+ branching ratio is interpreted to be the result of complete scrambling of four hydrogen atoms at the C? C site in C2H4‐OH+, and partial exchange (18–38%) of a hydrogen atom in the OH group with four other hydrogen atoms within 1 ns prior to H(3?n)DnO+ production. Ab initio calculations for the isomers and transition states of C2H5O+ were also performed, and the observed H(3?n)DnO+ production mechanism has been discussed. In addition, a stable isomer having a complex structure and two isomerization pathways were discovered to contribute to the H3O+ formation process. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The mechanism of propene loss from protonated phenyl n-propyl ether and a series of mono-, di-, and trimethylphenyl n-propyl ethers has been examined by chemical ionization (CI) mass spectrometry in combination with tandem mass spectrometry experiments. The role of initial proton transfer to the oxygen atom and the aromatic ring, respectively, has been probed with the use of deuterated CI reagents, D2O, CD3OD, and CD3CN (given in order of increasing proton affinity), in combination with deuterium labeling of the β position of the n-propyl group or the phenyl ring. The metastable [M + D]+ ions of phenyl n-propyl ether—formed with D2O as the CI reagent—eliminate C3H5D and C3H6 in a ratio of 10:90, which indicates that the added deuteron is incorporated to a minor extent in the expelled neutral species. In the experiments with CD3OD as the CI reagent, the ratio between the losses of C3H5D and C3H6 from the metastable [M + D]+ ions of phenyl n-propyl ether is 18:82, whereas the ratio becomes 27:73 with CD3CN as the reagent. A similar trend in the tendency to expel a propene molecule that contains the added deuteron is observed for the metastable [M + D]+ ions of phenyl n-propyl ether labeled at the β position of the alkyl group. Incorporation of a hydrogen atom that originates from the aromatic ring in the expelled propene molecule is of negligible importance as revealed by the minor loss of C3H5D from the metastable [M + H]+ ions of C6D5OCH2CH2CH3 irrespective of whether H2O, CH3OH, or CH3CN is the CI reagent. The combined results for the [M + D]+ ions of phenyl n-propyl ether and deuterium-labeled analogs are suggested to be in line with a model that assumes that propene loss occurs not only from species formed by deuteron transfer to the oxygen atom, but also from ions generated by deuteron transfer to the ring. This is substantiated by the results for the methyl-substituted ethers, which reveal that the position as well as the number of methyl groups bonded to the ring exert a marked effect on the relative importances of the losses of C3H5D and C3H6 from the metastable [M + D]+ ions of the unlabeled methyl-substituted species.  相似文献

(8-Diarylmethyl-1-naphthyl)bis(4-dimethylaminophenyl)methyliums (aryl=C6H5, 4-IC6H4, and 4-MeOC6H4) were generated by hydride shift from (4-dimethylaminophenyl)methyl group to the diarylmethylium unit at peri-positions of naphthalene. Successful isolation and low-temperature X-ray analysis indicated that they are novel C-H bridged carbocations, which prefer the localized structure with a short contact of C-H?C+ rather than the delocalized one with a three-centered-two-electron bond of (C?H?C)+.  相似文献

High-energy collisional activation mass spectrometry of HFe(CO)5+ ions shows that Fe(CO)5 is protonated on the iron atom rather than on one of the ligands. This finding is supported by ab initio quantum chemical calculations. The value of the proton affinity of Fe(CO)5 was measured by high-pressure mass spectrometry to be 857 kJ mol?1. The Fe? CO bond dissociation energies for HFe(CO)n+ (n = 1–5) were measured by energy-variable low-energy collisional activation mass spectrometry. The Fe? H bond dissociation energies in HFe(CO)n+ ions were also determined. A synergistic effect on the strengths of the Fe? H and Fe? CO bonds in HFe(CO)+ is noticed. It is demonstrated that the electronically unsaturated species HFe(CO)n+ (n = 3, 4) formed in exothermic proton-transfer reactions with Fe(CO)5 form adducts with CH4. Adducts between C2H5+ or C3H5+ and Fe(CO)n are observed. These adducts are probably formed in direct reactions between the respective carbocations and Fe(CO)5.  相似文献

Neutral benzene-ammonia clusters, prepared in a supersonic expansion, were ionized using multiphoton ionization. The cluster ions were investigated with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. The observed major cluster ions, under 355-nm laser irradiation, resulting from prompt intracluster ion-molecule reaction and fragmentation following ionization are (C6H6)m(NH3)nH+, m = 1–6, n = 1–4 and (C6H6)m+, m = 1–3. The results of isotopic labeling experiments clearly indicate that C6H6 does not participate in intracluster ion-molecule reactions to form (C6H6)m(NH3)nH+. A local maximum appears at n = 2 in the intensity distribution of (C6H6)m(NH3) nH+ for each value of m under all experimental conditions. This finding indicates that (C6H6)m(NH3)2H+ is more stable than any other (C6H5)m(NH3)mH+ (n = 1,3,4) for m = 1–6.  相似文献

IR photodissociation spectra of mass‐selected clusters composed of protonated benzene (C6H7+) and several ligands L are analyzed in the range of the C? H stretch fundamentals. The investigated systems include C6H7+? Ar, C6H7+? (N2)n (n=1–4), C6H7+? (CH4)n (n=1–4), and C6H7+? H2O. The complexes are produced in a supersonic plasma expansion using chemical ionization. The IR spectra display absorptions near 2800 and 3100 cm?1, which are attributed to the aliphatic and aromatic C? H stretch vibrations, respectively, of the benzenium ion, that is, the σ complex of C6H7+. The C6H7+? (CH4)n clusters show additional C? H stretch bands of the CH4 ligands. Both the frequencies and the relative intensities of the C6H7+ absorptions are nearly independent of the choice and number of ligands, suggesting that the benzenium ion in the detected C6H7+? Ln clusters is only weakly perturbed by the microsolvation process. Analysis of photofragmentation branching ratios yield estimated ligand binding energies of the order of 800 and 950 cm?1 (≈9.5 and 11.5 kJ mol?1) for N2 and CH4, respectively. The interpretation of the experimental data is supported by ab initio calculations for C6H7+? Ar and C6H7+? N2 at the MP 2/6‐311 G(2df,2pd) level. Both the calculations and the spectra are consistent with weak intermolecular π bonds of Ar and N2 to the C6H7+ ring. The astrophysical implications of the deduced IR spectrum of C6H7+ are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Homoadamantane derivatives can be divided into two groups according to their mass spectra. To the first group belong compounds with electron attracting substituents (COOH, CI, COOCH3, Br); compounds with electron releasing substituents (OCH3, OH, NH3, NHCOCH3) constitute the second group. The most characteristic feature of the first group compounds is the splitting off of the substituent. The hydrocarbon fragment [C11H17]+ thus formed then loses olefin molecules with the formation of corresponding ionic species C11?nH17?2n. The 3-substituted compounds of this group undergo thermal Wagner-Meerwein type rearrangements into adamantane derivatives, resulting in the [C10H15]+ (m/e 135) ion formation; this is the main difference between 1- and 3-substituted homoadamantanes. The series of [CnH2n?6X]+ ions (where X = OCH3, OH, NH2, NHCOCH3, n = 6 to 10) are characteristic of the mass spectra of the second group compounds, the ion [C6H6X]+, [M ? C5H11]+ being the most abundant. The intensity ratio of [M ? C5H11]+ to [M ? C4H9]+ ions is 10:1 for 1-substituted and 3:1 for 3-substituted compounds of this group, allowing the location of the substituent. Some individual features of the spectra are also reported.  相似文献

Experimental and theoretical studies on the oxidation of saturated hydrocarbons (n‐hexane, cyclohexane, n‐heptane, n‐octane and isooctane) and ethanol in 28 Torr O2 or air plasma generated by a hollow cathode discharge ion source were made. Ions corresponding to [M + 15]+ and [M + 13]+ in addition to [M ? H]+ and [M ? 3H]+ were detected as major ions where M is the sample molecule. The ions [M + 15]+ and [M + 13]+ were assigned as oxidation products, [M ? H + O]+ and [M ? 3H + O]+, respectively. By the tandem mass spectrometry analysis of [M ? H + O]+ and [M ? 3H + O]+, H2O, olefins (and/or cycloalkanes) and oxygen‐containing compounds were eliminated from these ions. Ozone as one of the terminal products in the O2 plasma was postulated as the oxidizing reagent. As an example, the reactions of C6H14+? with O2 and of C6H13+ (CH3CH2CH+CH2CH2CH3) with ozone were examined by density functional theory calculations. Nucleophilic interaction of ozone with C6H13+ leads to the formation of protonated ketone, CH3CH2C(=OH+)CH2CH2CH3. In air plasma, [M ? H + O]+ became predominant over carbocations, [M ? H]+ and [M ? 3H]+. For ethanol, the protonated acetic acid CH3C(OH)2+ (m/z 61.03) was formed as the oxidation product. The peaks at m/z 75.04 and 75.08 are assigned as protonated ethyl formate and protonated diethyl ether, respectively, and that at m/z 89.06 as protonated ethyl acetate. The 12.1 eV, 75°C electron impact mass spectra of 24 urethanes, RNHCO2C2H5 [R ? H, C2H2n +1 (n = 1-8), CH2?CHCH2, Ph, PhCH2 and PhCH2CH2], and seven symmetrically disubstituted urethanes R2NCO2C2H5 (R ? Cn H2n + 1 (n = 1?4)) are reported and discussed. All 31 spectra show appreciable molecular ion peaks. For n ?Cn H2n +1 NHCO2C2H5, M+ ˙ usually is the most abundant ion in the spectrum. A peak at m/z 102 of comparable intensity also is present; this corresponds to formal cleavage of the bond connecting the α- and β-carbon atoms in the N-alkyl group, though it is unlikely that the daughter ion has the structure [CH2?NHCO2C2H5]+. In the RNHCO2C2H5 series, branching at the α-carbon atom enhances the relative abundance of the ion arising by notional α-cleavage at the expense of that of M+ ˙. Formal cleavage of the bond between β- and γ-carbon atoms occurs to some extent for [RNHCO2C2H5]+˙ ions; this reaction provides information on the degree of branching at the β-carbon, especially if metastable molecular ions are considered. The higher n-CnH2n +1NHCO2C2H5 (n = 5?8) urethanes exhibit two other significant ions in their mass spectra. First, there is a peak at [M ? C2H5]+. Secondly, a peak is present at m/z 90; the most plausible structure for this ion is [H2N(HO)COC2H5]+, arising by double hydrogen transfer from the alkyl group and expulsion of a [CnH2n ?1]˙ radical. Ions originating from secondary decomposition of the primary ionic species are generally of only very low abundance in these spectra.  相似文献

An Al-containing mesoporous molecular sieve (Al-MMS) was prepared by hydrolysis of H2SiF6 and Al(NO3)3·9H2O. NH3-TPD results suggest that the acidity of Al-MMS was less than that of dealuminated zeolite. Y. The potential use of mesoporous molecular sieve as a new support material for dearomatization of residue oil of naphtha cracking was described. In case of C9 + and PGO feed, Pt?Pd/Al-MMS showed a higher activity than Pt?Pd/dealuminated zeolite Y catalyst. This is ascribed to its better accessibility of bulky molecules, and much less cracking activity due to mild acidity, indicating high yield of liquid. Thus, Pt?Pd/Al-MMS catalyst can be applied effectively to the hydrogenation of aromatic compounds in the residue oil of a commercial naphtha cracker.  相似文献

It is shown that alkyl radical species present in CH4 or iso-C4H10 plasma can react with substrate molecules to give [M+CnH2n] species. These species become evident especially in negative chemical ionization as [M+CnH2n] and, less obviously, in positive chemical ionization as [M+CnH2n+1]+ ions which, for example in natural products chemistry, may be mistaken for a series of homologous compounds present in the sample.  相似文献

The density functional theory (DFT) and the complete active space self‐consistent‐field (CASSCF) method have been used for full geometry optimization of carbon chains C2nH+ (n = 1–5) in their ground states and selected excited states, respectively. Calculations show that C2nH+ (n = 1–5) have stable linear structures with the ground state of X3Π for C2H+ or X3Σ? for other species. The excited‐state properties of C2nH+ have been investigated by the multiconfigurational second‐order perturbation theory (CASPT2), and predicted vertical excitation energies show good agreement with the available experimental values. On the basis of our calculations, the unsolved observed bands in previous experiments have been interpreted. CASSCF/CASPT2 calculations also have been used to explore the vertical emission energy of selected low‐lying states in C2nH+ (n = 1–5). Present results indicate that the predicted vertical excitation and emission energies of C2nH+ have similar size dependences, and they gradually decrease as the chain size increases. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The potential energy surfaces of the (CH3)nH3?n M+ ions, where n = 1, 2; M = Si, Ge, were scanned using the B3LYP method with 6–31G* and aug-cc-pVDZ basis sets. The major attention was given to isomeric species having the form of complexes of the HM+ and CH3M+ ions with hydrogen, methane, and ethane molecules. These species were characterized previously neither by experimental nor by theoretical methods. It was found that these species become more stable in going from Si to Ge; the complex [CH3Ge+CH4] is the second isomer in the energy after (CH3)2HGe+. However, the heights of the activation barriers to formation of these complexes from the most stable isomer, though decreasing in going from Si to Ge, remain relatively high and, what is particularly important, somewhat exceed the activation barrier to formation of the complex [H3Ge+·C2H4].  相似文献

In the ion/molecule reactions of the cyclometalated platinum complexes [Pt(L? H)]+ (L=2,2′‐bipyridine (bipy), 2‐phenylpyridine (phpy), and 7,8‐benzoquinoline (bq)) with linear and branched alkanes CnH2n+2 (n=2–4), the main reaction channels correspond to the eliminations of dihydrogen and the respective alkenes in varying ratios. For all three couples [Pt(L? H)]+/C2H6, loss of C2H4 dominates clearly over H2 elimination; however, the mechanisms significantly differs for the reactions of the “rollover”‐cyclometalated bipy complex and the classically cyclometalated phpy and bq complexes. While double hydrogen‐atom transfer from C2H6 to [Pt(bipy? H)]+, followed by ring rotation, gives rise to the formation of [Pt(H)(bipy)]+, for the phpy and bq complexes [Pt(L? H)]+, the cyclometalated motif is conserved; rather, according to DFT calculations, formation of [Pt(L? H)(H2)]+ as the ionic product accounts for C2H4 liberation. In the latter process, [Pt(L? H)(H2)(C2H4)]+ (that carries H2 trans to the nitrogen atom of the heterocyclic ligand) serves, according to DFT calculation, as a precursor from which, due to the electronic peculiarities of the cyclometalated ligand, C2H4 rather than H2 is ejected. For both product‐ion types, [Pt(H)(bipy)]+ and [Pt(L? H)(H2)]+ (L=phpy, bq), H2 loss to close a catalytic dehydrogenation cycle is feasible. In the reactions of [Pt(bipy? H)]+ with the higher alkanes CnH2n+2 (n=3, 4), H2 elimination dominates over alkene formation; most probably, this observation is a consequence of the generation of allyl complexes, such as [Pt(C3H5)(bipy)]+. In the reactions of [Pt(L? H)]+ (L=phpy, bq) with propane and n‐butane, the losses of the alkenes and dihydrogen are of comparable intensities. While in the reactions of “rollover”‐cyclometalated [Pt(bipy? H)]+ with CnH2n+2 (n=2–4) less than 15 % of the generated product ions are formed by C? C bond‐cleavage processes, this value is about 60 % for the reaction with neo‐pentane. The result that C? C bond cleavage gains in importance for this substrate is a consequence of the fact that 1,2‐elimination of two hydrogen atoms is no option; this observation may suggest that in the reactions with the smaller alkanes, 1,1‐ and 1,3‐elimination pathways are only of minor importance.  相似文献

OH+ is an extraordinarily strong oxidant. Complexed forms (L? OH+), such as H2OOH+, H3NOH+, or iron–porphyrin‐OH+ are the anticipated oxidants in many chemical reactions. While these molecules are typically not stable in solution, their isolation can be achieved in the gas phase. We report a systematic survey of the influence on L on the reactivity of L? OH+ towards alkanes and halogenated alkanes, showing the tremendous influence of L on the reactivity of L? OH+. With the help of with quantum chemical calculations, detailed mechanistic insights on these very general reactions are gained. The gas‐phase pseudo‐first‐order reaction rates of H2OOH+, H3NOH+, and protonated 4‐picoline‐N‐oxide towards isobutane and different halogenated alkanes CnH2n+1Cl (n=1–4), HCF3, CF4, and CF2Cl2 have been determined by means of Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance meaurements. Reaction rates for H2OOH+ are generally fast (7.2×10?10–3.0×10?9 cm3 mol?1 s?1) and only in the cases HCF3 and CF4 no reactivity is observed. In contrast to this H3NOH+ only reacts with tC4H9Cl (kobs=9.2×10?10), while 4‐CH3‐C5H4N‐OH+ is completely unreactive. While H2OOH+ oxidizes alkanes by an initial hydride abstraction upon formation of a carbocation, it reacts with halogenated alkanes at the chlorine atom. Two mechanistic scenarios, namely oxidation at the halogen atom or proton transfer are found. Accurate proton affinities for HOOH, NH2OH, a series of alkanes CnH2n+2 (n=1–4), and halogenated alkanes CnH2n+1Cl (n=1–4), HCF3, CF4, and CF2Cl2, were calculated by using the G3 method and are in excellent agreement with experimental values, where available. The G3 enthalpies of reaction are also consistent with the observed products. The tendency for oxidation of alkanes by hydride abstraction is expressed in terms of G3 hydride affinities of the corresponding cationic products CnH2n+1+ (n=1–4) and CnH2nCl+ (n=1–4). The hypersurface for the reaction of H2OOH+ with CH3Cl and C2H5Cl was calculated at the B3 LYP, MP2, and G3m* level, underlining the three mechanistic scenarios in which the reaction is either induced by oxidation at the hydrogen or the halogen atom, or by proton transfer.  相似文献

The complexes [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1R}]+ (n=1: R=alkyl and aryl (Ar); n=1–3: R=phenyl (Ph) or Ph‐N(CH3)2‐4; n=1 and 2, R=Ph‐NH2‐4; tBu3tpy=4,4’,4’’‐tri‐tert‐butyl‐2,2’:6’,2’’‐terpyridine) and [Pt(Cl3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (R=tert‐butyl (tBu), Ph, 9,9’‐dibutylfluorene, 9,9’‐dibutyl‐7‐dimethyl‐amine‐fluorene; Cl3tpy=4,4’,4’’‐trichloro‐2,2’:6’,2’’‐terpyridine) were prepared. The effects of substituent(s) on the terpyridine (tpy) and acetylide ligands and chain length of arylacetylide ligands on the absorption and emission spectra were examined. Resonance Raman (RR) spectra of [Pt(tBu3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (R=n‐butyl, Ph, and C6H4‐OCH3‐4) obtained in acetonitrile at 298 K reveal that the structural distortion of the C?C bond in the electronic excited state obtained by 502.9 nm excitation is substantially larger than that obtained by 416 nm excitation. Density functional theory (DFT) and time‐dependent DFT (TDDFT) calculations on [Pt(H3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (R= n‐propyl (nPr), 2‐pyridyl (Py)), [Pt(H3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1Ph}]+ (n=1–3), and [Pt(H3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐N(CH3)2‐4}]+/+H+ (n=1–3; H3tpy=nonsubstituted terpyridine) at two different conformations were performed, namely, with the phenyl rings of the arylacetylide ligands coplanar (“cop”) with and perpendicular (“per”) to the H3tpy ligand. Combining the experimental data and calculated results, the two lowest energy absorption peak maxima, λ1 and λ2, of [Pt(Y3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (Y=tBu or Cl, R=aryl) are attributed to 1[π(C?CR)→π*(Y3tpy)] in the “cop” conformation and mixed 1[dπ(Pt)→π*(Y3tpy)]/1[π(C?CR)→π*(Y3tpy)] transitions in the “per” conformation. The lowest energy absorption peak λ1 for [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐H‐4}]+ (n=1–3) shows a redshift with increasing chain length. However, for [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐N(CH3)2‐4}]+ (n=1–3), λ1 shows a blueshift with increasing chain length n, but shows a redshift after the addition of acid. The emissions of [Pt(Y3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (Y=tBu or Cl) at 524–642 nm measured in dichloromethane at 298 K are assigned to the 3[π(C?CAr)→π*(Y3tpy)] excited states and mixed 3[dπ(Pt)→π*(Y3tpy)]/3[π(C?C)→π*(Y3tpy)] excited states for R=aryl and alkyl groups, respectively. [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐N(CH3)2‐4}]+ (n=1 and 2) are nonemissive, and this is attributed to the small energy gap between the singlet ground state (S0) and the lowest triplet excited state (T1).  相似文献
