A Raman spectroscopy investigation of the carbonyl stretching vibrations of 3‐phenoxybenzaldehye (3Phbz) and 4‐ethoxybenzaldeheyde (4Etob) was carried out in binary mixtures with different polar and nonpolar solvents. The purpose of this study was twofold: firstly, to describe the interaction of the carbonyl groups of two solute molecules in terms of a splitting in the isotropic and anisotropic components and secondly, to analyze their spectroscopic signatures in a binary mixture. Changes in wavenumber position, variation in the anisotropic shift and full width half maximum were investigated for binary mixtures with different mole fractions of the reference systems. In binary mixtures, the observed increase in wavenumber with solvent concentration does not show linearity, indicating the significant role of molecular interactions on the occurrence of breaking of the self‐association of the solute. In all the solvents, a gradual decrease in the anisotropic shift reflects the progressive separation of the coupled oscillators with dilution. Γic), 3Phbz—solvent mixtures, exhibit a gradual decrease with decrease in the concentration of the solute which is an evidence on the influence of micro viscosity on linewidth. For 4Etob, the carbonyl stretching vibration shows two well‐resolved components in the Raman spectra, attributed to the presence of two distinct carbonyl groups: hydrogen‐bonded and free carbonyl groups. The intensity ratio of the carbonyl stretching vibration of these two types of carbonyl groups is studied to understand the dynamics of solute/solvent molecules owing to hydrogen bond interactions. Ab initio calculations were employed for predicting relevant molecular structures in the binary mixtures arising from intermolecular interactions, and are related to the experimental results. The structure of H‐complexes of dimethylformamide (DMF) with N‐(2,2,2‐trichloro‐1‐hydroxyethyl)‐p‐toluenesulfonamide (1), N‐[1‐(4‐chlorophenylsulfonylamino)‐2,2,2‐trichloro)ethyl]dithiooxamide (2), N,N'‐bis[2,2‐dichloro‐1‐(4‐chlorophenylsulfonylamino)‐2‐phenylethyl]ethanebis(thioamide) (3) and N,N'‐bis[2,2,2‐trichloro‐1‐(phenylsulfonylamino)ethyl]ethanebis(thioamide) (3a) as proton donors was investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Density Functional Theory calculations. According to calculations, the interaction of DMF with the sulfonamide and thioamide NH groups in the complexes strongly affects the intramolecular H‐bonding in 1–3. From the natural bond orbital analysis, complexation with DMF strongly decreases the energy of the intramolecular N?H · · · S = C bonds, up to their rupture. Variation of the strength of the intra‐ and intermolecular H‐bonds in the complexes is consistent with the calculated frequencies of the NH and OH stretching vibrations, and the analysis of the corresponding bands in the IR spectra allows to suggest the preferable structure of the formed H‐complexes. The first N‐allenyl derivative of trifluoromethanesulfonamide, N‐benzyl‐N‐(allenyl)trifluoromethanesulfonamide ( 1 ), was studied experimentally by the FT‐IR spectroscopy and theoretically at the DFT and MP2 levels of theory. The intramolecular interaction of the nitrogen atom with the triflyl and the allenyl group was studied in comparison with the analogously substituted vinyl derivatives. Compound 1 in heptane solution at 295–183 K exists as an equilibrium mixture of conformational isomers. Protonation at different basic sites in a series of reference molecules is studied theoretically. The central C2 atom of the allenyl group in 1 has the highest proton affinity, which is 16 kcal/mol higher than in the N‐vinyl analogues. The relative ability of the allenyl and vinyl groups to conjugation with an electron‐rich and electron‐deficient nitrogen atom lone electron pair is discussed. From the NBO analysis, the conjugation of the nitrogen lone electron pair with the allenyl group is much stronger than with the vinyl group. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The inclusion compounds of α‐, β‐ and γ‐cyclodextrins (α‐CD, β‐CD and γ‐CD) with trans‐cinnamic acid (t‐CIA), 3‐hydroxy‐trans‐cinnamic acid (t‐3OHCIA), 4‐hydroxy‐trans‐cinnamic acid (t‐4OHCIA) and 3,4‐dihydroxy‐trans‐cinnamic acid (t‐3,4OHCIA) were prepared and characterized, in the solid state, by means of thermogravimetry and Raman spectroscopy. The effects of the inclusion process on the guest molecules and on the hydrogen bond interactions of the guest were studied by monitoring sensitive vibrational modes, such as CO, CC and ring C H stretching modes. By combining Raman and TG data with ab initio calculations and information from CSD database on similar compounds, inclusion geometries for the different compounds are proposed. The size of the host cavity and the maximization of host/guest hydrogen‐bonding contacts appear to be the main factors determining the inclusion geometries. IR, Raman and surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra of 3,5‐dinitrosalicylic acid (DNSA) were recorded and analysed. The vibrational wavenumbers were computed by the ab initio method using RHF/6–21G* basis and they were found to be in good agreement with the experimental values. The effect of the concentration dependence on the SERS intensity of the molecule was studied. The molecular plane assumes a tilted orientation with respect to the silver surface. Investigation of the relative reactivity of bonds in fullerenes will provide fundamental theory for the design of fullerene‐based materials. We have theoretically investigated the reactivity of the Diels–Alder (DA) cycloaddition of cis‐1,3‐butadiene to all types of bonds in C60 and C70 using the M06‐2X hybrid density functional theory (DFT) calculations (J. Phys. Org. Chem. 2012, 25 850–855) and have pointed out that the DA cycloadditions of cis and trans forms of 1,3‐butadiene to ethylene have a specially intimate relationship (J. Phys. Org. Chem. 2014, 27 652–660). For the aim of telling a whole story of the DA cycloaddition concerning C60 and C70, the DA cycloadditions of trans‐1,3‐butadiene to all types of bonds in C60 and C70 were explored at the same theoretical level as those of the cis‐1,3‐butadiene. The calculated results related with the trans‐ and cis‐1,3‐butadienes were compared. The potential energy curves of DA cycloadditions of trans‐ and cis‐1,3‐butadiene to C60 and C70 were discussed. The distortion–interaction energy model was employed to elucidate the origin of different reactivity of all kinds of C?C bonds. The solvent effects were examined using the continuum solvent model. These current results, along with our previous research, will help to obtain an overall view of the DA cycloadditions of 1,3‐butadiene to C60 and C70. The mechanism and regioselectivities and stereoselectivities of the [3 + 2] cycloaddition (32CA) reaction of 3‐(benzylideneamino) oxindole (AY) and trans‐β‐nitrostyrene have been studied using both B3LYP and ωB97XD density functional theory methods together with the standard 6‐31G(d) basis set. Four reactive pathways associated with the ortho and meta regioselective channels and endo and exo stereoselective approaches modes have been explored and characterized. While the B3LYP functional fails to predict the experimental regioselectivity, the ωB97XD one succeeds to predict the experimentally observed meta regioselectivity favoring the formation of meta/endo cycloadduct as the major isomer. Inclusion of solvent effects increases the regioselectivity and decreases the experimentally observed stereoselectivity. Analysis of the density functional theory global reactivity indices and the Parr functions of the reagents in its ground state allows explaining the reactivity and the meta regioselectivity of this zwitterionic‐type 32CA reaction, which account for the high polar character of this reaction. Non‐covalent interaction analysis of the most favorable meta/endo transition state structure reveals that the formation of a hydrogen‐bond between 1 nitro oxygen and the AY N–H hydrogen is responsible for the selectivity experimentally found in this polar zwitterionic‐type 32CA reaction.  相似文献

17O NMR shieldings of 3‐substituted(X)bicyclo[1.1.1]pentan‐1‐ols ( 1 , Y = OH), 4‐substituted(X)bicyclo[2.2.2]octan‐1‐ols ( 2 , Y = OH), 4‐substituted(X)‐bicyclo[2.2.1]heptan‐1‐ols ( 3 , Y = OH), 4‐substituted(X)‐cuban‐1‐ols ( 4 , Y = OH) and exo‐ and endo‐ 6‐substituted(X)exo‐bicyclo[2.2.1]heptan‐2‐ols ( 5 and 6 , Y = OH, respectively), as well as their conjugate bases ( 1 – 6 , Y = O?), for a set of substituents (X = H, NO2, CN, NC, CF3, COOH, F, Cl, OH, NH2, CH3, SiMe3, Li, O?, and NH) covering a wide range of electronic substituent effects were calculated using the DFT‐GIAO theoretical model at the B3LYP/6‐311 + G(2d, p) level of theory. By means of natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis various molecular parameters were obtained from the optimized geometries. Linear regression analysis was employed to explore the relationship between the calculated 17O SCS and polar field and group electronegativity substituent constants (σF and σχ, respectively) and also the NBO derived molecular parameters (oxygen natural charge, Qn, occupation numbers of the oxygen lone pairs, no, and occupancy of the C? O antibonding orbital, σ*CO(occup)). In the case of the alcohols ( 1 – 6 , Y = OH) the 17O SCS appear to be governed predominantly by the σχ effect of the substituent. Furthermore, the key determining NBO parameters appear to be no and σ*CO(occup). Unlike the alcohols, the calculated 17O SCS of the conjugate bases ( 1 – 6 , Y = O?), except for system 1 , do not respond systematically to the electronic effects of the substituents. An analysis of the SCS of 1 (Y = O?) raises a significant conundrum with respect to their origin. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

IR and Raman spectra (RS) of polycrystalline 3‐(or 4 or 6)‐methyl‐5‐nitro‐2‐pyridinethione have been measured and analyzed by means of density functional theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations. The B3LYP/6‐311G(2d,2p) approach has been applied for both the thiol and thione tautomers due to the possibility of the formation of these two thiole forms. Molecular structures of these compounds have been optimized starting from different molecular geometries of the thiol group and thione group. Two conformations of the 2‐mercaptopyridine, trans and cis, have been taken into account. It was shown that the studied compounds appear in the solid state in the thione form. The effect of the hydrogen‐bond formation in the studied compounds has been considered. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometries and vibrational wavenumbers of 2,4‐difluorophenol (2,4‐DFP) were carried out by using ab initio HF and density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) methods with 6‐311G(d,p) as basis set. The optimized geometrical parameters obtained by HF and DFT calculations are in good agreement with related molecules. The best level of theory in order to reproduce the experimental wavenumbers is the B3LYP method with the 6‐311G(d,p) basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 2,4‐DFP is also reported. The entropy of the title compound was also performed at HF/6‐311G(d,p) and B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) levels of theory. The isotropic chemical shift computed by 1H, 13C NMR analyses also shows good agreement with experimental observations. The theoretical spectrograms for FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule have been constructed. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The near infrared Fourier‐transform (NIR FT)‐Raman and Fourier‐transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopies supported by HF/6‐31G(d) computations have been employed to derive equilibrium geometry, vibrational wavenumbers and the first hyperpolarizability of the nonlinear optical (NLO) material, L ‐arginine nitrate (LAN) hemihydrate. The reasonable NLO efficiency, predicted for the first time in this novel compound, has been confirmed by Kurtz–Perry powder second harmonic generation (SHG) experiments. The changes in the atomic charge distribution among different groups due to the presence of strong electronegative atoms and the shrinking of N O bonds of nitrate anion and C N bonds of guanidyl group have been analyzed. The splitting of the carboxylate stretching modes, blue shifting of methine vibrations and the electronic effects such as backdonation and induction on the methylene hydrogen atoms have also been examined in detail. The intense low wavenumber H‐bond Raman vibrations due to electron–phonon coupling and nonbonded interactions in making the LAN molecule NLO active have been discussed based on the vibrational spectral features. The natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis and HF computations confirm the occurrence of strong intra‐ and intermolecular N H·O and O H·O ionic hydrogen bonding between charged species providing the noncentrosymmetric structure in the LAN crystal. The effects of substituents on the stability of 4‐substituted(X) cub‐1‐yl cations ( 2 ), as well as the benchmark 4‐substituted(X) bicyclo[2.2.2]oct‐1‐yl cation systems ( 7 ), for a set of substituents (X = H, NO2, CN, NC, CF3, COOH , F, Cl, HO, NH2, CH3, SiH3, Si(CH3)3, Li, O?, and NH) covering a wide range of electronic substituent effects were calculated using the DFT theoretical model at the B3LYP/6‐311 + G(2d,p) level of theory. Linear regression analysis was employed to explore the relationship between the calculated relative hydride affinities (ΔE, kcal/mol) of the appropriate isodesmic reactions for 2 / 7 and polar field/group electronegativity substituent constants (σF and σχ, respectively). The analysis reveals that the ΔE values of both systems are best described by a combination of both substituent constants. This highlights the distinction between through‐space and through‐bond electronic influences characterized by σF and σχ, respectively. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Protonation reactions were studied by quantum‐chemical theoretical methods (DFT and MP2) for a series of β,β‐disubstituted vinyldiazonium cations ( 1 + – 14 + ), bearing stabilizing electron‐releasing groups (H3CO? , (H3C)2N? , H3C? , (H3C)3Si? , as well as halogens F, Cl). Taking into account the various mesomeric forms that these species can represent, protonations at Cα, at the β‐substituent, and at Nβ were considered. The energetically most favored pathway in all cases was Cα protonation, which formally corresponds to trapping of the mesomeric diazonium ylid. Based on the computed properties (optimized geometries, NPA‐charge densities, and multinuclear GIAO‐NMR chemical shifts), the resulting dications can best be viewed as carbenium/diazonium dications, in which the carbocation is further delocalized into the β‐substituent. For the α‐nitro derivative 15 , protonation of the nitro group was predicted to be the most favored reaction, while Cα‐ and Nβ‐protonation resulted in the loss of the nitronium ion. Theoretical study of the elimination kinetics of 2‐phenylethanol, 1‐phenyl‐2‐propanol, and 2‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐2‐propanol in the gas‐phase has been carried out at the MP2/6‐31G(d,p), B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p), B3LYP/6‐31++G(d,p), MPW1PW91/6‐31G(d,p), MPW1PW91/6‐31++G(d,p), PBEPBE/6‐31G(d,p), and PBEPBE/6‐31++G(d,p) levels of theory. The three substrates undergo two parallel elimination reactions. The first elimination appears to proceed through a six‐membered cyclic transition state to give toluene and the corresponding aldehyde or ketone. The second parallel elimination takes place through a four‐membered cyclic transition state producing water and the corresponding unsaturated aromatic hydrocarbon. Results from MP2/6‐31G(d,p) and MPW1PW91/6‐31++G(d,p) methods were found to be in good agreement with the experimental kinetic and thermodynamic parameters in the formation of toluene and the corresponding carbonyl compound. However, the results for PBEPBE/6‐31G(d,p) were in better agreement with the experimental data for the second parallel reaction yielding water and the corresponding unsaturated aromatic hydrocarbon. The charge distribution differences in the TS related to the substitution by methyl groups in the substrates can account for the observed reaction rate coefficients. The synchronicity parameters imply semi‐polar transition states for these elimination reactions. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The reaction of N,N‐dimethylaniline with tetrachloromethane in ionic liquid was found to give 4,4′‐methylene‐bis (N,N‐dimethylaniline) in considerable yield. The ionic liquid was prepared from N,N‐dimethylaniline which is also the one of raw materials for the preparation of 4,4′‐methylene‐bis (N,N‐dimethylaniline), and acts as both solvent and catalyst in the reaction. Mild reaction conditions, enhanced rates, improved yields, and reagents' reactivity which is different from that in conventional organic solvents are the remarkable features observed in ionic liquids. In addition, the results of calculations are in good accordance with the experimental outcomes. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The effects of substituents on the stability of 3‐substituted(X) bicyclo[1.1.1]pent‐1‐yl cations (3) and 4‐substituted(X) bicyclo[2.2.1]hept‐1‐yl cations (4), for a set of substituents (X = H, NO2, CN, NC, CF3, CHO, COOH , F, Cl, HO, NH2, CH3, SiH3, Si(CH3)3, Li, O?, and NH3+) covering a wide range of electronic substituent effects were calculated using the DFT theoretical model at the B3LYP/6‐311 + G(2d,p) and B3LYP/6‐31 + G (d) levels of theory, respectively. Linear regression analysis was employed to explore the relationship between the calculated relative hydride affinities (ΔE, kcal/mol) of the appropriate isodesmic reactions for 3/4 and polar field/group electronegativity substituent constants (σF and σχ, respectively). The analysis reveals that the ΔE values for both systems are best described by a combination of both substituent constants. The result highlights the importance of the σχ dependency of charge delocalization in these systems. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Thirty‐four novel α/β‐tetrapeptides ( 1–34 ) have been prepared employing solid‐phase and in‐parallel synthetic protocols. α/β ‐Tetrapeptides 1 – 34 were prepared by a combination of three α‐amino acid residues (alanine (Ala), phenylalanine (Phe), and isoleucine (Ile)) with one β‐amino acid residue (β3‐homophenylglycine). The corresponding complexes of several selected α/β‐tetrapeptides with alkali, alkaline earth, and transition metals, [tP + M+], were evaluated using ion electrospray‐ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS). According to the results from analysis of mixtures, we can conclude that the position of the β‐amino acid is determinant in the affinity toward different metal cations. Computational modeling (DFT, B3LYP 6‐311++G) provided useful information regarding the most likely coordination sites of the metal ions on the receptor α/β‐tetrapeptide 12 , HO2C‐α‐Phe‐α‐Phe‐α‐Ile‐β3‐hPhg‐NH2, as well as the conformational changes induced by the metal upon [tP + M+] complex formation. DFT calculations involving the B3LYP functional and 6‐31G(d) basis set have been performed to rationalize the reactivity, regioselectivity, enantioselectivity and diasteriofacial selectivity in the context of 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition (13DC) reactions of a few acyclic and two cyclic azomethine ylides (AY) leading to enantiomeric/ diasteriomeric excess of the products. In particular, N‐substituted and C‐substituted AYs have been considered for reactions with the substituted ethylenes, maleimide, maleic anhydride and methyl acrylate. From an analysis of the results of calculation for the selected reactions, the regio‐ and exo/endostereoselectivity have been explained. Reactions were followed through transition state (TS) structure optimization, calculation of IRC and activation energies. A rationalization of the trends in regioselectivity and enantioselectivity was attempted with the help of HOMO–LUMO energies, electrophilicity differences (Δω) and an analysis of Pauling's bond order (PBO) in the TS.
